Hey ladies,

Thought I'd start a new thread for anyone new to this like me 🙋🏼‍♀️

We're TTC after a change of plans when COVID postponed our wedding 🙄

Currently cycle 1 of TTC WITH AF due in 3 days.. I think I can feel it coming tbh.

Didn't use any form of ovulation tracker other than Flo (which I've used to track period for years) this cycle.

@beckyBP @somanystars what's COQ10 and DHA? I was wondering about the vitamin D but I work outside and thought that may be a bit redundant. Then I read that some multivitamins have some vitamins in that they recommend to be careful with?

Bramleyapples13 · 04/08/2020 17:57

It's ridiculous the amount some stuff costs isn't it. I've literally been sticking spinach into practically every meal since I read greens are really beneficial healthwise Grin though I did get told if another bit of spinach ends up in tonight's tea it'll be thrown at me 😂

Marden11302 · 04/08/2020 17:32

I think we’ve decided to stop ttc and wait until after the wedding.
I’ve got such bad anxiety that I won’t fit in my dress, that I’ll be so stressed about it all that it’ll effect the pregnancy, just my gut telling me I should wait.
It’s so difficult, we’ve wanted this for about 5 years now, and there has always been something in our way. Finally thought that the plan to ttc after our “August 2020 wedding” was fool proof, then along comes flaming covid. Feeling really down today 😔

TTCBaby1 · 04/08/2020 17:14

Oh dear going into third month TTC... my cycles were previously 25 days and this month 27... feel like my body may be adjusting to removal of implant praying for this cycle to be ours!!! 😬

beckyBP · 04/08/2020 17:08

Thanks @PinkPlantCase that's really helpful!

Yes good luck everyone for the cycle!! 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Yay to being off the migraine meds 👏🏽👏🏽 that's one less thing to worry about xx

@somanystars I'm exactly the same! £50 I spent on that lot 🙈😂

PinkPlantCase · 04/08/2020 14:51

@beckyBP this it what my OPK did so you start off not seeing much but then it gets darker. Apparently some people’s can peak really quickly though so it is possible to miss it. You ovulate generally on the day after the peak when the LH levels drop.

Best if luck for this cycle everyone! I’m just waiting for AF now 😏 feels like such a long wait doesn’t it.

I am also now completely off the medication I take for my migraines though and nothing too horrendous has happened 😁 so we’ll be all safe to TTC next cycle.

@beckyBP @Bramleyapples13 Yeah after posting that I went online anyway to have a look at what supplements are good to take and am now about to head out for CoQ10 and an omega 3/DHA one as well 🤦🏻‍♀️ Told you I was prone to it!

beckyBP · 04/08/2020 11:29

@somanystars @Bramleyapples13 supplement wise I take high strength folic acid, COQ10 and Vital DHA

I found them on this blog

somanystars · 04/08/2020 08:48

@Bramleyapples13 I've been wondering about vit D and others as well, but for now I'm sticking to folic acid and a multivitamin. I think it'd be so easy to spend a fortune on a hundred different supplements and I know I'm prone to doing that sort of thing so leaving it at the moment!

somanystars · 04/08/2020 08:42

Hi everyone, hope it's okay for me to join too 😊 I quickly read through the whole thread and noticed someone saying they felt intimidated even just writing that they were TTC #1 and that's totally me, now on CD11 of cycle 1 and the whole thing is quite daunting! So exciting though, I've wanted this for quite a while and we were originally going to try next year on our 2yr wedding anniversary in May, then we moved it back to my birthday in Jan and finally decided to just go for it this month. Frankly I'd been hanging around the conception forums for an embarrassingly long time already so I'm just excited I get to use some of the acronyms myself now 😅

I've had my flashing smiley two days in a row so very anxious to get going although (TMI) I had to use a Canesten pessary a few days ago (typical) so probably going to have to wait another day or two, hoping we don't miss our window!

I'm also in the same kind of boat I've seen a couple of you mention (as is my husband) of sort of naively hoping or expecting to catch first time... but a bit of optimism isn't a bad thing right!?

Hope everyone's doing well this morning 😊

Bramleyapples13 · 04/08/2020 08:11

I didn't want to spend a lot on the OPK but I didn't read them right for a few months. I thought that the surge in LH meant I had already ovulated. What a nelly Hmm the Clearblue ones show a flashing smiley then a static smiley on your best days to DTD. So I use the cheap ones on the run up then the expensive ones to confirm it.

I've just been taking folic acid. What do people think about vitamin D? Should that be one to take too?

Meg87 · 03/08/2020 22:02

I've only got the cheapie OPKs but I do find testing with them quite addictive. Just wish I didn't get such crazy results! They keep fluctuating between high and low, don't know what's going on with my body 😣

beckyBP · 03/08/2020 21:10

@Bramleyapples13 ah really? I might have to give them a go. I bought a load of cheapies and they blow my mind 🤯😂

Are you doing anything else? I've started taking a load of vitamins / supplements this month. Xx

Bramleyapples13 · 03/08/2020 19:52

Thank you! We've been trying since just before lockdown but no luck yet. It's just so hard when you can't talk to anyone close to you Grin Amazon had an offer on the Clearblue Digital OPK a little while ago which I've been using with the cheapie OPK and they're much easier to read.

beckyBP · 03/08/2020 18:58

@Meg87 @Marden11302 thanks ladies. I'm CD 9 so a bit early but the line confused me. Trying SMEP this month too.. I think I'm putting a bit too much pressure on 🙈 it's only month 2 of TTC

Of course you can @Bramleyapples13 it's amazing to speak to other people in the same position!

OP posts:
Meg87 · 03/08/2020 18:48

Hi @beckyBP, I'm definitely no expert at this is also my first month using them, but I think @Marden11302 is right in that the line on the left is darker than the line on the right when you're having your LH surge (and are therefore about to ovulate). So your test looks like it's negative.
I'm so confused about my ovulation test results... They keep fluctuating!
Hi @Bramleyapples13. I know what you mean, it's all quite exciting isn't it so it's nice to be able to talk about it, while not letting everyone in real life know you're trying 😃

Bramleyapples13 · 03/08/2020 18:37

Hello everyone. Can I join this thread? As odd as it sounds it's nice to be able to speak to other people you don't know about TTC when you're trying to keep it secret from your family!

Marden11302 · 03/08/2020 18:17

@beckyBP from what I gather the line that appears needs to be darker than the control line, but it’ll be my first month using these tests too so don’t take my word for it 😂

beckyBP · 03/08/2020 15:41

Hey ladies, this is the first time I'm taking an ovulation test and I don't get it 😩 on Femometer this is coming up as LH 0%. Any advice?

@TTCBaby1 I can only see one, keep testing though it might have just been too soon!

How many days DPO are you?

TTCBaby1 · 01/08/2020 07:48

Morning ladies

Hanging onto every ounce of hope... am I seeing two lines or one? 🙈

@beckyBP had a nosey at the box and it says it's for men and women. Is your partner getting on board with taking supplements too or are these all for you?

beckyBP · 30/07/2020 09:07

Amazing @PinkPlantCase 👏🏽👏🏽 that's amazing for your first cycle!

The VitalDHA has fish oil and zinc which apparently helps to improve egg quality. X
