Hey ladies,

Thought I'd start a new thread for anyone new to this like me 🙋🏼‍♀️

We're TTC after a change of plans when COVID postponed our wedding 🙄

Currently cycle 1 of TTC WITH AF due in 3 days.. I think I can feel it coming tbh.

Didn't use any form of ovulation tracker other than Flo (which I've used to track period for years) this cycle.

@doublecheeseburgermediumfries I read that lockdown was doing weird things to women's periods... Not sure how true that is but mine seemed to start getting longer after lockdown started. I was considering speaking to my GP about my cycle length as I noticed that on the NHS website it said that if your cycle length was more than 35 days you should see your doctor, but I think I'll wait to see what my next couple of cycles are like as they won't be affected by pregnancy at all.

I used to feel sorry for people who had short cycles as it meant they were on their period so frequently, but it would be really handy right now!

doublecheeseburgermediumfries · 06/10/2020 22:11

@Meg87 yes! This thread started in July? And I think I've had 2 cycles since July 😂 whereas others have probably had 3/4!

I never really tracked my cycle until about last December when we started to seriously think about starting a family. I downloaded an app and just tracked the length to begin with. So since December my shortest cycle has been 36 days and longest was last month which was 53 days. On average they're about 38ish days.
I started tracking ovulation two cycles ago (not including this cycle), I usually get my first smiley round cycle day 18 and then day 15. I've never had a static smiley tho 😕 so gonna give it a couple more and if I still get no where then I think I'll get it looked into.

Its funny coz my mum has 6 kids and my dads mum had 4 of kids so it's always been a joke that I'd be super fertile and it would be a walk in the park but it might not be so easy 😬

Meg87 · 06/10/2020 21:33

@doublecheeseburgermediumfries ugh long cycles are the worst aren't they! They get your hopes up when your period doesn't arrive, and mean you get fewer attempts at conceiving 😣 have you always had quite long cycles? Mine seem to have got longer over the last few months, annoying!

doublecheeseburgermediumfries · 06/10/2020 21:17

Good luck @Meg87 just chill out the next few months especially with Christmas round the corner!! Take advantage of the Baileys and Prosecco 🥳

Welcome to the other newbies ☺️

I think last time I wrote in here I was had a mild breakdown on my 1000 day cycle😅😂 I'm on cycle day 33 now and my apps are saying AF is due by the end of the week! But we shall see 🙃

So ready for it to arrive so it can be the start of a new month! I reeeeally want it to be my month! I swear there's a huge baby boom of Covid babies atm there's a new announcement nearly every few days on insta! Dreaming of the day of it being "our turn"

Luckyelephant1 · 06/10/2020 20:24

Hi, can I join?

TTC #1, on AF at the moment so just started cycle 5. Flo app predicts ovulation on 17th but this will be the first cycle I'm going to start tracking BBT and using OPK as tbh it sounds like I've been far too slack with stuff like this, I just assumed DTD most days around ovulation would work. I know we haven't been trying for long but one of my best mates just announced she's pregnant and it happened for her in the first month of trying! Obviously I'm happy for her but equally can't help feeling jealous and thinking there's something wrong with me! I never thought I'd be like this!

Also on antibiotics for UTI at the moment which seems to be a monthly occurrence now 😢.

Tryingandhoping2020 · 06/10/2020 18:14

Hi Everyone, I’m new to all of this :) came off of Ridgevon on 18th sept, had withdrawal bleed, and now (according to various apps) in my ovulation window. Although who knows if I’ve ovulated this month 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just seeing how it goes for now! Good luck to everyone!

Meg87 · 06/10/2020 16:22

Just for an update, AF started for me last night. I think we're going to take a break for the next couple of months, so I'm going to try to see what's going on with my cycle while there's no chance of me getting pregnant. 🤞 for everyone 😁

Meg87 · 04/10/2020 09:17

Ah @izzyboo22 I can relate to the cold feet thing. Sometimes it dawns on me what a huge, life changing thing this is! It can be quite overwhelming.

How is everyone getting on? So I'm on CD40 now, still no AF but I'm still getting BFNs! Not sure what's going on 😣 I counted the first day of my (very very light) bleeding from my chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage last month as CD1, as I read you're supposed to, but I was still getting a BFP on CD3 (got BFN on CD5 though), so I think it took a little while for things to adjust. I also think I ovulated late as I was doing OPKs up until CD25 with no positive results, so I got a bit fed up and decided to stop. If AF hasn't arrived by next weekend I'll test again, and if I'm still getting BFNs then I'm sure that's me out.

izzyboo22 · 01/10/2020 16:22

Hey lovelies, I'm just catching up on all this wonderful news!

Congratulations to @hereforallthehelp @HeyDW96 @PinkPlantCase and @PabsyPops - sorry for anyone else I missed, this is a lucky thread it seems!

I've not really been on here lately as we chickened out of ttc last month - got a bit of cold feet and so went back to good old contraception, slightly defies the point, but it has since confirmed we're definitely ready going forward, just waiting for AF to arrive in the next week and then fingers crossed the lucky thread continues to work its magic...

@Meg87 I really feel for you and it's such a nightmare when cycles play up - I had my first 35 day cycle last month and started to get quite anxious about forward planning, hopefully you're not out of the running this month, keeping everything crossed for you :)

Meg87 · 01/10/2020 12:35

Congrats @PinkPlantCase! How exciting 😁

lilacflower12 · 01/10/2020 09:01

Hi everyone, I'm TTC for our first baby since we've moved our wedding to 2022 for the 4th Time ( was supposed to be earlier this year!!)

I came off the mini-pill last weekend, has a withdrawal bleed for a few days and I'm now hoping I'm gearing up to ovulate, the OPK's I'm taking seem to be getting a bit stronger even though they are very low. I know it might take ages but I'm so impatient and am also obsessed with the idea of telling our families at christmas if we did get pregnant before then!

@PinkPlantCase congratulations! They look like good lines! Smile

PinkPlantCase · 01/10/2020 08:47

Guuyyyyysss!!!!

12DPO 😁😁😁😁

Don’t really have any symptoms, at least if I have I’ve been ignoring them, last cycle I thought I had loads but really it was all in my head/PMS so I’d be weary of reading too much into them @Meg87, sorry to hear your having a rough time 😔

My periods due on Saturday so just have to keep everything extra crossed that it doesn’t arrive anyway.

Meg87 · 30/09/2020 20:06

Congratulations @PabsyPops, that's a very clear result!

How's everyone doing? I'm feeling a bit blue today. I'm on CD 36 (no idea how many DPO - I did use OPKs this cycle but they were all over the place and I didn't get an LH surge like before, wondering if my CP last cycle has caused that) and I'm feeling similar to how I felt last cycle when I was pregnant (though I lost it pretty much as soon as I found out) - bloated, mild tummy pains, headaches for the last 5 days. I never normally get these symptoms before my period, and so when I got them last cycle I felt like I just knew I was pregnant. I couldn't resist taking a pregnancy test after work today, but no hint of a line whatsoever. My periods have been irregular lately so I don't know when I'm due on, I think my last cycle before my chemical pregnancy was 34 days, so I suppose I could have ovulated a bit later this cycle (because of the CP?) and it's too early for testing. Though surely if I have symptoms the hormones must be strong enough to be picked up by a pregnancy test!

I've started to really doubt myself now, wondering if these symptoms are just PMS (though it seems strange that I've never had them in my 20+ years of getting periods), and maybe the BFP I got last cycle was a false positive?! It was a Tesco one, and they seem to have a bit of a reputation. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see what happens this cycle.

Hope you're all alright and not going too crazy..!

PinkPlantCase · 29/09/2020 07:53

@PabsyPops Congratulations 🥳🎉🎉

Best of luck for your pregnancy! x

PabsyPops · 28/09/2020 16:54

Hi ladies! I haven't commented in a while as I tried to take a back seat and not think about it all. I quit the apps, temping etc and look what happened!!!!

How are you all getting on? Sending you all so much baby dust xx

NEWBIE 🙋🏼‍♀️ TTC first baby - anyone else new to the journey?
PinkPlantCase · 27/09/2020 18:23

How’s everyone getting on? I’m 8DPO today and will test this time next week if AF doesn’t come.

I’ve been really good so far at not symptom spotting. Hoping I’ll be able to keep this up for the coming week 😂 I’ve only got one test in the house and it’s a clear blue digital. I’m hoping the fact they’re quite expensive means I won’t cave in and test early.

beckyBP · 21/09/2020 09:57

@PinkPlantCase & @hereforallthehelp Thanks ladies it sucks doesn't it! Onto month 4!!

3 months isn't long at all.. the app needs to 🤫 😂😂

OP posts:
PinkPlantCase · 20/09/2020 22:56

Awh @beckyBP sorry to hear 😩

I felt like that last month, I was so convinced, had been feeling sick, had weird cramps and loads of dreams about being pregnant but not got AF instead.

I’m at the start of another ttw now. Trying to be a bit more chill this month.

Now on my 3rd cycle of OPKs the app is popping up asking if I want a doctor’s consultation. Just to rub it in 🙄🙄 3 months isn’t even that long either!

hereforallthehelp · 20/09/2020 21:13

@beckyBP ah I’m so sorry, I totally had that last month and I was late a week too!! Periods are the bloody worst (pun intended) xx

beckyBP · 20/09/2020 19:31

Eurgh ladies.. I'm pretty sure AF will be here within the hour. I'm GUTTED! I had such a different last few days and things like the vivid dreams, early wake ups, change in skin I honestly thought this was it! 😫

OP posts:
HeyDW96 · 20/09/2020 09:00

I'm really shocked, I genuinely didn't believe it would happen as quickly as this! Very happy, but scared aswell, hope the next few weeks go okay!

Kirky658 · 20/09/2020 08:21

@heyDW96 congratulations!!!

Another BFN for me this morning, 3rd one now. I can only assume that the light bleed I assumed wasn't my period was, in fact, my period. Not sure if I ovulated or not this month so perhaps have to wait till next month.

Keep the good news coming ladies 😊

beckyBP · 20/09/2020 08:19

Wow @HeyDW96 that was super quick! Congratulations doll! Xxxx

@HeyDW96 EEE!!! Congratulations!!! How do you feel?! Xx

HeyDW96 · 20/09/2020 06:55

@hereforallthehelp well this happened today, guess I need to go to the pregnancy thread too! I'm still in shock!
