@AliceinBunnyland how are you doing

Happyhappy37 · 25/07/2020 11:07

@AliceinBunnyland I use it for for some foods. I scan the barcodes as well.

AliceinBunnyland · 24/07/2020 12:58

@Happyhappy37 Yeah it's not a big deal but it was annoying because we were curious how far we had walked up the mountain!

I have never tracked calories before but I find MFP quite useful. I don't know what to put in if I've got food from the farm shop or butcher that doesn't have nutritional info, though I haven't tried scanning the barcodes on those Hmm

Anyway it's nearly the weekend so I expect I'll be a bit more even more relaxed with what I eat

@AliceinBunnyland morning. At least you know that you have done a lot yesterday. Don't worry about the fitness watch. These things happen 🙂

I use my fitness Pal

AliceinBunnyland · 23/07/2020 22:13

DH and I went for a walk up a mountain. It rained and I don't have waterproofs do I was soaked. Really annoyingly my fitness watch battery went and it didn't fully track how far we went. I did some exercise I suppose... think we did about 5 miles or a bit less but half of it was up hill obviously.

Does anyone else use My Fitness Pal?

@Happyhappy37 Yes I think you're right. I can make a big effort with eating well if I know it's temporary. Sometimes I would have a day or a few days in the week when I wouldn't eat sugary foods and I could manage that because it was short bursts. Exercise is more about habit for me but it is so easy to miss a workout and then just not get back into it.

We can help motivate one another hopefully.

I think the biggest challenge of trying to lose weight, is staying motivated once we start exercise or dieting. I know I can be committed for a good month or two and then it goes downhill

AliceinBunnyland · 23/07/2020 10:51

Good morning @Happyhappy37 It is frustrating because ad the start of lockdown I definitely felt I'd lost weight. I wasn't dieting (possibly snacking slightly less but not sure) but was doing Les Mills Body Combat workouts on YouTube about 2-3 times a weeks so need to do that again as it might work for me. I suppose it's a slow process and we might have lost a small amount of weight already for all we know.

My weight has fluctuated daily but I might have lost a lb since 5 July. It's hard to say as the higher weight was the only time I weighed myself in an evening.

Happyhappy37 · 23/07/2020 10:28

@AliceinBunnyland good morning. It definitely is hard. I haven't looked at my scales in ages. Don't feel like I've lost anything 😔

AliceinBunnyland · 23/07/2020 08:52

Well it's actually quite hard to lose weight, isn't it? Hmm

OP posts:
AliceinBunnyland · 21/07/2020 21:58

Sounds like you're doing great @Happyhappy37

OP posts:
Happyhappy37 · 21/07/2020 21:12

@AliceinBunnyland actually I don't seem to be struggling too much. I am doing well so far. The longest I have done is 18.5hours. all the other times have been between 14 and 16hrs.

AliceinBunnyland · 21/07/2020 21:06

@Happyhappy37 Are you finding the fasting difficult or do you think it will become habit?

OP posts:
Happyhappy37 · 21/07/2020 21:02

@AliceinBunnyland you're doing great. Keep it up. Rest day is also important as well. I am still doing my fasting. Haven't done anything exercise for a few days now. Hopefully I can do some walking tomorrow.

AliceinBunnyland · 21/07/2020 14:57

I went for a walk with DH last night as he wanted to go. I wouldn't have bothered if he hadn't said he'd make dinner if I went with him (it was my turn to cook!)

Aching a bit today as I've done 3 days of walking so think I'll have an easy day... Weather isn't great anyway ☁️

How are you @Happyhappy37 @Thewhalewhisperer @VenusStarr?

OP posts:
AliceinBunnyland · 20/07/2020 11:04

@Happyhappy37 I think the scales are a just bit of a novelty as I haven't had any for a while and I like the breakdown it gives on the app but I probably shouldn't weigh myself more than once a week and you're right it can be demotivating when the number isn't going down!

Tbh if you are fasting that will have a bigger impact than exercise anyway

OP posts:
Happyhappy37 · 20/07/2020 10:43

@AliceinBunnyland that's very good. I didn't do any exercise yesterday. Sunday's are usually chill day for me. Planning to go out later, but will see how it goes, if not then I will jump on my stationery bike. Currently still fasting
I haven't weighed in a few weeks, scales can be so discouraging sometimes.

AliceinBunnyland · 20/07/2020 09:23

I somehow did 21K steps yesterday

The walk/run helped me get the first 10K and the rest was from cleaning so that really does count @Happyhappy37

My scales did the weird thing again today. They came up with a weight I knew was about 3lb lower than I am and then I got on them again and it went back up. I don't know why but it's weird it's happened twice.

I'm planning an easy day today exercise wise but will try not to snack on unhealthy foods.

Maybe just a short walk at lunchtime if the sun is still out ☀️

Happyhappy37 · 19/07/2020 16:15

Well done @AliceinBunnyland. Have been busy with my cooking and cleaning today.

AliceinBunnyland · 19/07/2020 14:27

Been for a walk / run so already done 11K steps. I think if I stay active I will lose some weight and actually I always feel better for doing something productive even if it's cleaning the bathroom or whatever.

OP posts:
AliceinBunnyland · 19/07/2020 10:34

Well done you @Happyhappy37 I bet you feel motivated to do it again today?

I weigh exactly the same as I weighed on 6 July when I recorded my first weight on these scales. I have had slightly lower weights in that time but I'm the same down to a decimal - 10 st 2.4, though the day before that I weighed 10 st 5 and my app knows that so is showing I've lost 3lb. I'll take it tbh Confused

I'm going to go for a run or do some body combat today - some "proper" cardio.

I'm convinced I lost weight at the start of lockdown as my face was noticeably slimmer and have put it back on but it could have been just a couple of lbs.

Happyhappy37 · 19/07/2020 10:00

Good morning all, hope all is well.
I managed to fast for 18hours and 24minutes. My aim was 16hours 😁

Happyhappy37 · 18/07/2020 23:22

Well done you. You did well today 👏🏾👏🏾. Am here watching king Kong with the boys, they are asleep now.

AliceinBunnyland · 18/07/2020 21:25

I just had two cookies as a great but I did resist the urge to get a takeaway and I have been out for a 4.5 mile walk and have done 15.5K steps so not too bad for a weekend... am I kidding myself? Grin

@Happyhappy37 I'm a chocoholic and that is my downfall. I think I would be much slimmer if I didn't eat chocolate and snacks.

But I did manage to cut down my snacking at the start of lockdown so I know I can do it.

OP posts:
Happyhappy37 · 18/07/2020 20:36

@Thewhalewhisperer well so far so good. Thing is I am not big on snacking, my biggest problem is eating lots of fried food and I love my carbs. I rarely ever eat chocolate, I just don't like it. I will only taste a tiny piece of it if i feel like I need a sugar rush or pick me up.

Normally I try not to eat after 7pm, but that only works when I am serious about losing weight (like for 2weeks🙈). I also don't take sugar in my tea( that must count for something)

What is your fasting schedule @Thewhalewhisperer
