Hey! Looks like our thread filled up

@Positivity2019 @Wearenotyourkind @hwotsit @jx0x0

@Wearenotyourkind nothing us women can't handle. It was just like an uncomfortable smear but nothing to faint over how some women were saying it was but then again everyone is different. I didn't feel the dye go in or anything :)
How are you?? X

I just wanted to log on to let you know I got my first ever BFP this morning. I truly cannot believe it. Praying it progresses ok but for now I'm just over the moon to see two little lines.

I hope you are all having a nice weekend. I would love to stick around on this thread because I have felt so much support from you all. Having just been through the IVF process I hope I can be helpful to those whose are just getting going with it.

Love to all.

X

Positivity2019 · 31/10/2020 16:05

@MF1981 yea I am sure it must feel very nerve wracking building up to that first shot. Not knowing what to expect. You’ll be a pro before long, although I hope you don’t have to be at it for too long and this round gives you good success!! 🤞

MF1981 · 28/10/2020 07:21

Thanks @Positivity2019 - great news about the new house! Weirdly I had a dream about the injections last night! I think I just want to get the first one done now as it’s become a big thing in my head.

Positivity2019 · 27/10/2020 21:25

@Wearenotyourkind even though it must be disappointing to have to redo those bloods it sounds like you’re feeling positive about your cycle. It’s good that your GP is looking to contact the fertility specialist for advice, that should really speed things up and that must be a relief.
We got confirmation today that we get the keys on Nov 18th so not long to go at all. Feels like there is so much to do. It’s nice to have something exciting and positive to focus on.

@Missgoldilocks sorry to hear that’s you into a new cycle. I couldn’t agree more, it is getting ridiculous. Surely we are due some good news on this thread soon!!

@MF1981 I hope all goes well for you. How are you feeling about the injecting now?

@ACMJ welcome and I’m sorry you find yourself In the same position. July 2019 seems like so long ago now. Glad to hear you have a plan moving forward with your PCOS.

@hwotsit
@jx0x0 hope your both fine

MF1981 · 27/10/2020 15:29

Yeah I feel you - my hsg was traumatic to be honest. Good that you have answers - try and trust in the process and the doctors x

ACMJ · 27/10/2020 15:22

@Wearenotyourkind I feel ok to be honest. I knew something was wrong for years and had several failed diagnosis from different doctors who said I didn’t have PCOS. I got referred to a fertility clinic and they diagnosed me within one scan!! The plan for me now is to start letrozole sometime in December and see if that works and go from there! Very nervous it won’t work!

@MF1981 hello! If I’m being totally honest it was horrible. I didn’t feel any pain during the test and it was over really quickly but when the catheter went in my days Shock. They said everyone responds to it differently though and that was the only bit that caused pain for me the rest I didn’t feel a thing! I’m feeling ok about the diagnosis (see above) and I’m just glad to have answers!

MF1981 · 27/10/2020 14:51

@Wearenotyourkind the meds arrived last Friday so start tablets on Sunday and then if AF plays ball I start injecting a week on Saturday. Had my mock embryo transfer today which was absolutely fine and nowhere near as bad as my hsg.

Welcome @ACMJ. How was your hsg? How are you feeling about the diagnosis? I have PCO but not S

Wearenotyourkind · 27/10/2020 14:43

Welcome @ACMJ sorry you also find yourself here. How do you feel about the PCOS diagnosis? What's the plan now?

ACMJ · 27/10/2020 14:27

Hi all, I also started TTC In July 2019. I have just been diagnosed with PCOS and had my hsg last week.

Wearenotyourkind · 27/10/2020 14:22

Hi everyone. I spoke to GP about the results of my 21 day bloods. As my last cycle ended up being only 24 days, the test wasn't done 7 days before AF. I did ovulate earlier though and extended my LP by one day, so hoping the increase in vit b6 is helping. So the GP wants to re do the bloods this cycle on day 16 and 21, to check we didn't miss the peak. She said if it's still low, she'll write to fertility consultant for advice on what to prescribe. The GP said hopefully this will mean I won't need to wait ages for a referral, if needed. Anyway, I'm CD10 today, so will start OPKs. Have had to cancel acupuncture this week as we are currently waiting for Covid test results for my husband 🙄 in other news, I turned 35 at the weekend, which is officially horrendous 😭

Exciting time re the house @Positivity2019. Do you have a moving date yet? Great to have this to distract from TTC obsession. Great you're covered for this month though. Really hoping it's a lucky month for you!

Sorry can't help re the baseline scan @MF1981 have you got the meds now? When do you have to start injecting?

Keeping everything crossed re your FET @jx0x0 no symptoms doesn't necessarily mean you're out.

Did AF arrive @Missgoldilocks?? Agree, it's a sad journey for some of us. Hang in there.

Hope you had a fab holiday @hwotsit. Sorry that you had a bad AF though. Any progress re the referral yet??

Love to all 💗

Positivity2019 · 26/10/2020 19:59

Hello everyone, how are you all doing. I see a few of you have been away on holiday, hope you’ve had a lovely time.
I’ve been busy with packing for my move. It’s kept me preoccupied which has been pretty nice actually. Nae clue what to expect this month but today is the end of my ovulation so I’m sure we’ve done all we can for this month.
I just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you all, always got my fingers crossed for you all. One day we will have our bambino’s.

MF1981 · 26/10/2020 15:13

Stay positive @jx0x0 - fingers crossed for you x

MF1981 · 26/10/2020 15:12

I’m a bit confused as to what a baseline scan is to be honest! I had a scan where they did my AFC and checked the shape etc of my ovaries and uterus and then I had my protocol prescribed after that. Is that my baseline scan? Because other than that I don’t have another one until day 5 of my medication and then every other day after that.

jx0x0 · 26/10/2020 11:22

@hwotsit I'm sorry you've been feeling anxious, especially on your holiday! Have you got your referral sorted now? Make sure you write a list of all the things you want to speak to your fertility consultant about. I found that really helpful. And if you are really suffering with your period pains don't let them fob you off. You deserve answers.

@MF1981 good luck with your upcoming cycle! Have you had your baseline scan yet?

@Missgoldilocks Sorry AF came! I hope you're ok. How is your sister doing too?

@Wearenotyourkind How are you? Have you spoken to your doctor about your progesterone results? I hope you have a plan to move forward with.

I had my FET last Tuesday. Was feeling positive but beginning to worry about my lack of symptoms! I feel the same as I do every month so not feeling too hopeful right now.

Love to all.

MF1981 · 22/10/2020 21:47

I’m ok - meds get delivered tomorrow. Eeekk!

Missgoldilocks · 22/10/2020 16:47

@mf1981 lol right!! God I was that girl 9 years ago haha now I'm like, womb can you PLEASE do your damn job?! How are you doing? X

MF1981 · 22/10/2020 16:35

Aw sorry @Missgoldilocks - that sucks. I agree it can feel so ridiculous month after month. A girl I work with told me the other day how in March they decided to postpone their summer wedding because of covid and thought they might as well try for a baby in the meantime and now she’s due in January. So she must have got pregnant first time! Seems to be so easy for some people and then here’s us struggling month after month. Feel for you hun x

Missgoldilocks · 22/10/2020 14:54

Hope everyone is well onto another month for me also since af came today. This is a bit ridiculous now honestly 😕

Missgoldilocks · 20/10/2020 13:33

Oh I forgot to add my update hahah well no update really, don't feel pregnant and don't know when af will come. If I ovulated on cd15 it should be here tomorrow but I don't know when i ovulated! I am getting af type pains but they aren't strong really, felt a bit sick yesterday but I always feel sick before af comes so I guess we will see. I would love to get a bfp lol but I don't think I have a high chance of that being the case. It's a sad journey!!

Missgoldilocks · 20/10/2020 13:32

Hey all! I was also on holiday over the weekend which was lovely to get away we had an absolute blast!!

@hwotsit sorry you're thinking endometriosis, I thought that too because I have such bad period pains and sickness. I got my tubes checked and they couldn't see anything abnormal, apparently though I think they can see if there is some hidden during a Laparoscopy, so once I finally get a appointment I'll be asking for that to see if there is any too.

@Wearenotyourkind sorry about your pogesterone levels, the great thing about this though is that they can give you a pogesterone supplement which would allow you to get pregnant :) which would be amazing!! So good luck xx

@Positivity2019 sorry af got you :( but great news for a longer cycle!! Hoping you have better luck this cycle xx

@jx0x0 I think her doctor is going to consult with his panel, but I have told her that if they aren't going to tailor to her she shoukd think about maybe trying someone else who will. Hope all is well with you? X

@MF1981
Hey I think my sisters partner helps my sister with her injections :) justake sure to look at the package and to inject the correct ones! She messed it up first time round lol x

Thank you so much for the lovely and encouraging words @jx0x0. Reading this has helped no end. Keeping everything crossed for your medicated cycle and transfer xx

You got this @MF1981 xx

jx0x0 · 16/10/2020 20:24

@Wearenotyourkind I am so sorry you've had a rubbish day. It must come as a nasty shock. However the up side - it's great that you know now and you can get the right medication to boost your progesterone. I am currently doing a medicated cycle for my IVF transfer because my estrogen was too high - and making my lining too thick. As it's a medicated cycle my natural hormones are essentially shut down so they are also giving me progesterone. I am taking them in the form of pessaries. I have no idea what your doctor will say / I am defo not qualified at all but it may be that you will need to take some progesterone pessaries to get your hormones balanced out. Basically I just wanted to say that although it feels scary to discover there is a problem it's actually good to know. Knowledge is power in this situation. Now you can get the right meds and it will significantly increase your chances of conception. Today was a crap day but you have made good progress!

@MF1981- Don't worry about IVF injections. The needles are so thin you can barely feel them, honestly.

Big love to all.

X

MF1981 · 16/10/2020 17:43

Thanks @Wearenotyourkind - just freaked myself out watching the how to videos for injecting myself. Started panicking about how am I going to do this?!

Wearenotyourkind · 16/10/2020 17:39

Hey everyone. I've had a tearful day. Got my day 21 progesterone bloods back and result is only 14. My understanding is it should be 30+. I've got a call booked with GP for Tuesday, but it literally hit me like a tonne of bricks when I saw the words "abnormal result". I know logically that knowledge is power and it's better to know if there is a problem, so that a treatment plan can be sorted out...but it just felt like another kick in the teeth. But if I have low progesterone, it might explain the miscarriage, short LP, fibroids, weight gain. Anyway, I'll see what the GP says. I feel a bit better now I've had a good cry and sweated it out at the gym.

@MF1981 shame you can't try naturally this month, but won't be long til the IVF meds starts. Keeping everything crossed for you!

@jx0x0 thanks for the podcast recommendation, I'll give that a go. Great news about your biopsy results! How are your emotions now? Feeling any less anxious and tearful? Bloody meds! Keep your chin up.

@Missgoldilocks aw your poor sister, that's awful for her. Some doctors really do have a bloody way with words, FFS! How are you getting on?

@hwotsit hope you're doing okay lovely?

@Positivity2019 sorry AF got you - we really need some positive news on this thread now! Good to hear about your cycle length though, so at least that's something. I would definitely encourage you to ask the GP for the bloods - we've all been waiting long enough now. I lit a candle for our angel babies last night xx
