Hey! Looks like our thread filled up

@Positivity2019 @Wearenotyourkind @hwotsit @jx0x0

@Wearenotyourkind nothing us women can't handle. It was just like an uncomfortable smear but nothing to faint over how some women were saying it was but then again everyone is different. I didn't feel the dye go in or anything :)
How are you?? X

Hey lovely peeps,

Sorry I have been a bit quiet lately. I have actually taken the big (and scary) decision to go for IVF next month (if I don't get my BFP this month.) We have decided to go private and make the most of me not having to be in the office - which will make attending appointments so much easier for me. Our plan is to do the egg collection end of August and transfer October. We opted to do PGS - which means there is one cycle between the egg collection and the frozen embryo transfer. I know it may seem like we're jumping the gun but for many reasons we feel like now is a good time for us. I am really aware that not everyone has the option to go private so I hope this news isn't difficult for anyone. I would love to keep chatting. Who knows if it will work or not but I'd love to share the experience with you guys. Also if anyone else goes down this route then I can help answer any questions you have as the whole process does seem quite daunting when you first decide to sign up for it.

As @hwotsit said I am rooting for us all! It's been so nice to connect with others in a similar situation. It's been such a source of comfort and joy on this challenging journey.

Much love to you all. X

Positivity2019 · 31/07/2020 19:13

Aww thanks @Wearenotyourkind, that such a nice thing to think and say. Also thanks for the reassurance that my strange cycle and period is similar to yours and probably a result of the loss. It’s so nice to have people to talk to who are in similar situations and who can share their experiences, it really is reassuring.

@hwotsit no problem. We are all in this together. Hopefully it helps you as well.

@Missgoldilocks and @jx0x0 hope you’re both fine.
I am on holiday now for a week and then the kids return to school!! That’s gonna be mad I think, they’ve been off for so long. Hoping this fine weather lasts a little while I’m off.

@Positivity2019 our first post-MC cycles sound very similar. Mine was 21 days and no sign of ovulation too. Let's hope this cycle is more normal for both of us. Sorry to hear AF is heavier and more painful though. I knew you'd have a job in the caring professions, I hear that in how you come across on here.

Positivity2019 · 27/07/2020 20:14

@Missgoldilocks and @hwotsit I’m sorry to hear AF has arrived for you guys. Looks like you are in a good place @Missgoldilocks with your healthy eating and tablets ready to go. I know you must feel disappointed just now but good looking forward to the next cycle.

@hwotsit I’m cant remember if you’ve already said but do you take any vitamins or anything? I struggled through last year with short cycles and it did eventually settle into about 25-27 day cycles. I started Vit B6, Vit B complex and Coq10. I’m sorry your feeling low, I have faith it’ll happen for you.

@Wearenotyourkind my first AF was almost normal. I didn’t have so much period pain as I normally do. It lasted a day longer.
My manager has been incredibly supportive, I’m very lucky. I am an early years practitioner so around kids a lot although obviously not been around them since March. I’m glad I am getting back into the swing of work before the kids come back in Aug.

I have also started my AF yesterday. This was a strange cycle I just had. Didn’t seem to ovulate. no BBT rise. No positive stick and it was only a 23 day cycle. This feels more like my usual AF. Heavy already and period cramps. I’m not overly upset though, I feel like this periods and this cycle is just the regulation of things. I’m hoping it doesn’t drag to long though over the next few months. Thinking of you all.

Wearenotyourkind · 27/07/2020 09:38

Hey. Sorry to hear about AF @Missgoldilocks and @hwotsit. I know there's not much I can say to make you feel better, but just hang in there and do what you need to do. Good for you re the health kick @Missgoldilocks, sounds really positive.

CD9 here and just finishing another longer AF. Really hoping my cycle will sort itself out now and I'll ovulate this month. All I want to be doing is trying to get pregnant again and it's so frustrating to feel like I've lost 3 months due to MC.

How are you doing @Positivity2019? How was tour first AF? I totally get what you were saying about work. It's been so hard to come back to work after the MC and just carry on as normal. I can't remember if you said what job you do? I hope your manager has been supportive.

Missgoldilocks · 27/07/2020 08:29

@hwotsit sorry to hear that, it is hard but we just have to keep going

@Positivity2019 thank you for the positivity, but af came right on time. I got a bfn on Thursday night so I knew anyway and I'm already over it pretty much. I've restocked on my tablets ready to go again and I've been super healthy this past week, trying to cut some weight with a friend so I'm sure it can only help the process

OP posts:
Positivity2019 · 22/07/2020 16:31

@Missgoldilocks I think those symptoms sound really promising!! Absolutely wishing you all the positive thoughts for this month being your BFP.
It’s so hard to maintain hope and positivity for this when it feels like it is taking forever and you’re doing amazing. You probably know the stats already but it’s quite a high probability that couples who don’t conceive in the first year will absolutely go on to do so in that second year. I’m buzzing that this month could be your month!!!

Missgoldilocks · 22/07/2020 10:33

@Positivity2019 hey, no I haven't started insemination yet because I'm still waiting on bfp/af. I'm 10 dpo today and yesterday I had bad cramps and I felt quite sick, I feel fine today though so maybe a reaction to hycosy? I've read up that you can have a bad period after. Trying to hope I'll get a bfp this cycle but I don't know. I still can't get my head around the fact it hasn't happened yet when we are both healthy and my cycles are so clockwork and lp long. I'm starting to get scared it won't happen naturally but I need to try and be positive because the negativity I always feel is getting me more down! So finger crossed it happens this month I'm praying that it does and yesterday was a sign

Hi everyone, how are we all?

@hwotsit thanks for your reply. I’m trying to keep positive but man it’s hard some days. The CM comments really made me smile though. Never thought I’d be enticing my partner with chat about CM.

@Wearenotyourkind I’m so sorry to hear your are feeling so sad and low. How are you feeling now after your big clean and day in bed? I absolutely get how you feel. I find myself longing to be pregnant again too. Sometimes it’s all I can think about. I went back to work yesterday and I just about cried all the way in and forced myself not to turn around and go home and call the doctor for more time off. I know I am ready to return but feel like by doing so I am closing the chapter on it all and god knows how long the next chapter is going to be. I was clinging to my little bubble where I stayed in the house with my DP and now it’s popped and it’s crap. I’m so sad that you are suffering with headaches and uncertainty about your cycle. It feels so devastating being back to the tedium and guessing game of tracking cycles and ovulation. I’ve got my fingers crossed that things will settle quickly for you and like you say it’s just all the hormones and things settling down after your loss ❤️

@Missgoldilocks how are you doing? Have you started with insemination?

@jx0x0 Hope your fine. Good job on the double walks and enjoy your staycation!! That’s a great idea for fertile week.

I am just a day or so past ovulation according to my Ava bracelet. Had a temp rise this morning. However, had no positive on my clear blue ovulation monitor. This is only my first cycle after my first AF so it’s more a test for me of how things are after the surgery. Trying to stay positive but returning to work has knocked me a bit this week. Hoping to settle back in and be fine by the weekend. Take care everyone.

Wearenotyourkind · 19/07/2020 12:19

Thank you also @jx0x0 💕 sorry to hear about AF, but sounds like you're trying to stay positive. Great idea about the staycation next FW too. Where are you planning to go?

Wearenotyourkind · 19/07/2020 12:05

Thank you so much for your replies @Missgoldilocks and @hwotsit. You are so lovely 💗

I've woken up to what I presume is AF, which does explain the horrendous low mood yesterday. You are right, my hormones are all over the place. If this is AF, that makes my last cycle only 21 days and no ovulation - so I'm hoping it's still my just sorting itself out after the MC. I know I need to just take one day at a time but some days are easier than others.

Thanks again for your replies - the kindness of strangers on the internet is strangely comforting. Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

jx0x0 · 19/07/2020 12:04

Hey guys,

Also lolling at sexy mucus!

I am sorry you're having a tough time emotionally @Wearenotyourkind. It must be so hard to go through the joy of a pregnancy and then have it taken away. My heart goes out to you. Agree with @hwotsit I hope you have a best friend you can speak to. And definitely make sure you look after yourself. Have a movie on the sofa kind of day if you need to. Perfect weather for it today!

@Missgoldilocks I am sorry your partner is having problems - the pressure must feel so enormous for the guy. It's not really surprising that it must get to them physically too. I hope insemination goes well for you this month.

No news my end. AF came as per usual. We are going away for a little staycation next week during fertile week so gonna just try relaxed approached (like @hwotsit.) I am still not drinking and I am also going for two walks a day which is helping me stay positive.

X

@Wearenotyourkind that is what we are here for this journey is long and hard. Of course you will feel down, I don't have advise for that though because its nature try and do some things that make you feel better. Get your nails done, get a massage or acupuncture, try to relieve some tension and stress. I do hope you feel better soon ❤️❤️

Wearenotyourkind · 18/07/2020 20:58

Hey everyone. Lol @ the sexy mucus.

A relaxed approach sounds good @hwotsit. Fingers crossed it works!

Equally sounds like self insemination might be worth a shot for you @Missgoldilocks.

I'm afraid I'm in @Missgoldilocks gang at the moment - not feeling very positive. I'm really feeling so down today. My husband is away and I thought I'd enjoy the time to myself to just chill out, but I'm struggling. I've spent most of today in bed. I feel so sad about the miscarriage and all I want is to be pregnant again. Plus my cycle is all over the place, so hope of conceiving soon after the MC is evaporating. I'm CD21 today and no sign of ovulation at all. And today I've started spotting. I imagine my hormones are also affecting my mood. Plus I've had a headache every day since CD1, so that doesn't help. Since the MC I'm not sleeping well either, so that always makes things feel worse. Sorry to have a moan. Tomorrow is another day and I am going to try hard to keep busy. Think I'll clean the house from top to bottom.

Missgoldilocks · 17/07/2020 14:48

@hwotsit 😂😂😂😂😂 omg I get so excited when I have good mucus and I'm like "honeyyyyy I got the mucusssss" really excited and he's like 🤢🙄😳 hahaha I've got to stop telling him everything hhaah

@hwotsit hey! I sounds like a good plan me and my OH really struggle with the dtd part, he has a hard time finishing so it leaves me quite bruised as it takes forever. I've decided we are definitely going to do self insemination if we don't catch this month as well as dtd so it takes the pressure off us. I've got inositol and evening primrose oil ready in my basked in case it's needed, obviously hoping it isn't. But 5dpo today and feel like I'm not, I know its too early to tell but I can't shake the feeling. To be quite honest this whole process is really getting me down and I find it hard to be positive, sorry that sounds so crap!
How are you? I xx

@Missgoldilocks I have read lots about people falling quite quickly and so I am hoping that happens for us. I also feel like I am going into this next phase of TTC with more knowledge. I’m not so worried about if something might be wrong because a surgeon has been in and had a good look with a camera and confirmed all looks good. So yea, definitely feel up for it. Of course the first time we started trying I was all gung ho and as we know time chips away at the positivity. I’ve set my positive thoughts on a pregnancy before xmas!!
How you feeling after the Hycosy? Fingers crossed what you’ve read about it leaving people more fertile after they’ve had one rings true for you guys!!

@jx0x0 😂 we must’ve pressed post at the same time. My DP is amazing, I feel incredibly lucky. You’re right about the age thing for sure, we’ve still some years ahead of us definitely. My auntie had her kids into her 40’s so fingers crossed I’ve some of her fertility genes. Hope you’re doing fine.

jx0x0 · 10/07/2020 11:58

@Positivity2019 - Sorry our messages must have cross fired just seen yours. Made me feel quite emosh. Your partner sounds amazing and you sound like such a lovely loving couple. I am positive your time will come.

Also I know most of us are 34/35/36 but I really think we don't need to stress about age. A lot of my friend who are 34/35 don't have kids yet. One of my friends said she was the youngest in her NCT group - we have time.
