Hey! Looks like our thread filled up

@Positivity2019 @Wearenotyourkind @hwotsit @jx0x0

@Wearenotyourkind nothing us women can't handle. It was just like an uncomfortable smear but nothing to faint over how some women were saying it was but then again everyone is different. I didn't feel the dye go in or anything :)
How are you?? X

@Wearenotyourkind I’m so glad to hear that you feel like things are getting back to normal. That’s also great news about your Gynae appointment.
How are you feeling otherwise?

@MF1981 welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you are struggling as well. I hope you get some good news about the IVF funding soon. How have you been since you started trying? It’s such a rollercoaster of a journey. Are you trying for your first?

@hwotsit @Missgoldilocks @jx0x0 hope you’re doing fine.

I am on CD14 and today I got a peak reading on my clear blue monitor. Haven’t had a peak since the month I conceived my ectopic sooooo man I’m hoping this is our month. I’ve had so many ovulation symptoms. It’s a relief to feel things are back to normal and even if we don’t conceive this month I’m hoping it’ll be soon.

MF1981 · 31/08/2020 14:25

Thank you! I'm 39, TTC since July last year after coming off Femodene which I was on for most of my adult life. Went to see GP in Jan, got referred for tests in Feb and then everything stopped due to covid. All my hormone tests and scans are normal and good for my age, although I have slight polycystic ovaries, but my other half (who is 30) has had two pretty bad sperm analysis results. We're now just waiting to see if our appeal for NHS funding has worked before we head into IVF before the end of the year. Sadly my area doesn't fund unless you've started treatment before you turn 39 and I turned 39 the day Boris announced total lockdown.

Wearenotyourkind · 31/08/2020 13:31

Welcome @MF1981 sorry you need to join us. What's your story?

MF1981 · 31/08/2020 12:22

Hey guys can I join? Also been TTC since July last year. It's the pits isn't it?!

Wearenotyourkind · 31/08/2020 11:44

Hey all - thanks for the sympathy with the fucked up cycles. The good news is, hopefully things are starting to settle down now. I'm CD8 today and fingers crossed it stays normal. The AF I just had appeared normal, so I'm really hoping things are back to how they were before the MC. More good news, GP got a response from gynae and they're not worried about my newest fibroid (picked up on MC scan). As it's intramural, apparently they don't think it'll affect further pregnancies and they don't think I need it removed - have already had 3 gynae surgeries. But will have another scan at some point.

How's everyone else getting on?

Positivity2019 · 26/08/2020 22:08

@Wearenotyourkind that is rough how long it’s taking for things to settle down, you must be so frustrated. Glad to hear you have spoken to your GP and can maybe get some support through that. Plus the counselling will hopefully help too. Hopefully things will settle down for you in your cycle this month and you can feel a little better about everything.
I’m glad to be back working with the kids. They’ve slotted back into nursery routine like pros and we are just trying to establish a new normal. It’s certainly helped me take my mind off things.

@hwotsit we sure do seem to be in sync with our cycles. Mine seem to be settled at about 25 day’s just now though the few months in the run up to the pregnancy I was at 27 days so fingers crossed this cycle will reach that.
I am nae keen on needles at all. I’m interested in what the acupuncturist is saying about vitamins etc? I feel like I am stabbing in the dark with the vitamins I take, I worry I might be doing more harm than good.

@jx0x0 sounds like some amazing progress is being made with your IVF which is great. I really hope it all goes well. Sounds like you’ve some good habits on the go too. Those positive things will really help you learn mindset.

Hey everyone,

Lovely to hear all you updates. Sorry there is no good news yet but my main outtake was that we are all so brave and I genuinely believe we'll all get there in the end!

@Wearenotyourkind I am sorry to hear about your cycle still being a bit off. Great that your doc has asked for advice from a gynae. I hope they back to you quickly so you can formulate a plan of action. I hope counseling helps. I've had therapy in the past and found talking to someone who is totally outside your life really helpful.

@hwotsit Sorry to hear Aunt Flo came knocking again. Sending you positive vibes. I have been thinking about doing some acupuncture. I heard someone talking about it on a fertility podcast (I can't remember who now.) They said it was really helpful in their journey. I'd love to hear more about your sessions and if you think it's helping you. Also how do you go about finding a good one?

@Positivity2019 Glad to hear your cycle is feeling more normal. I am hoping this cycle is your lucky one. Sounds like the relaxed approach with lots of DTD is an ideal plan! Enjoy!

@Missgoldilocks I hope you're well. X

I am just finishing my IVF stims. Egg collection and sperm collection (is that what it's called?) booked for Thursday. Good job we did it because my DH is now away with work for a lot of September/October! The last few days I have felt a bit bloated and crampy but otherwise it was totally fine. I didn't find the hormones effected my mood very much. Also the needles are so thin that the injections are not painful at all. (I hate needles / am really squeamish so trust me when I say they are not bad!) If any of you end up on this path then I can assure you it's not as bad as you think it's gonna be. I was expecting it to be far more overwhelming. We are having PGS so no transfer until October but pleased that we'll have egg retrieval out the way.

I know I've said this before but walking has been such an amazing help for me on this journey. Especially the last few weeks. I find just putting a podcast on and walking around the park or just around the streets has helped my mental health so much. If I don't do it one day I really notice the difference. I would really recommend getting something like that into your routine. Also I am making sure I eat five fruit or veg a day. It's just a basic thing but it helps me feel in control of something and I like thinking of my body being full of all the nutrients it needs. Maybe that sounds really obvious but it's really helped me!

Love to you all.

x

Meant to add - good news re the SA @hwotsit, fingers crossed the results are positive. Hope the acupuncture is helpful in relaxation, if nothing else.

Wearenotyourkind · 25/08/2020 14:36

Hi all - no good news here either, I'm afraid. Although I appreciate your positive thinking @hwotsit!

My cycles are still all over the place - I bled for 30 days non stop, then had a whole 4 days off and am now bleeding again. So frustrating as I have no idea what's going on and if I'm ovulating and so can't even get stuck in with trying again. It's really starting to get me down as I just want to move forward after the MC, but don't feel that my body is letting me. I had an assessment for counselling today though, so will give that a go. I'm hoping it'll help me process the loss. I also spoke to GP last week and she is writing to gynae for an opinion and will come back to me when she's had a response.

Great that your cycles seem back to normal @Positivity2019! How are you getting on back at school?

How are you doing @Missgoldilocks? Any good news?

Positivity2019 · 25/08/2020 08:01

@hwotsit how are you finding the acupuncture? It’s not something I’ve considered. It looks intimidating if I’m honest. I have researched fertility yoga a little. I’ve started back doing some light yoga and I figured since I’m doing it anyway I might as well do some poses that may help fertility. I’m glad to hear that things are finally underway with your referral, that must be a relief.
I am on CD5. Just finished my period yesterday. I feel like it’s back to normal and my cycle seems to be better. It was a more normal period for me. I’m not really sure where my head is at though. Feel like I’ve tried so much stuff and now I’m so tired of trying that I may just DTD regularly and let the chips fall where they may. We’ve set a goal for Xmas time and if no joy then it’s the docs for us.

Hope you guys are all doing fine and taking care of yourselves. X

Positivity2019 · 12/08/2020 21:38

Hi hi everyone, are we all melting coz I know I am. Hopefully you’ve all been able to enjoy some socially distanced sunshine.

@Missgoldilocks I don’t think your August theory is silly at all. I really hope it’s your month for a positive. I’m 1dpo today so our cycles are nearly synced, TWW is afoot for us both.

@Wearenotyourkind Back to school for some of the kids and feel like we are nearly organised. It’s a gradual stay for them today and tomorrow then they are off fri and then back to full week next week. Sorry to hear your cycle is still up in the air and you still feel in a limbo of waiting. It’s so frustrating, I’m sure you guys just want to get back on with it. My cycle seems like it is a bit better, however I am unsure if I ovulated this month. Not getting any peaks on my clear blue monitor. But we’ve been DTD plenty so that’s all we can do I guess.

@hwotsit I use an Ava bracelet to keep a track of my BBT. I also use the clear blue monitor, but I don’t ever seem to get a peak. However, the Ava seems to identify confirmed ovulation. Acupuncture sounds interesting, I’ve never really looked into it. Glad to hear you have some good info from it too.
Your right what you said about timescales. I used to make these timescales all the time when we first started TTC last year but I had to stop, it was really making me miserable. We’ve decided to set one for Xmas but it’s more so we can try seeking medical help if we are still floundering by then. But by god I hope we will be expecting by then. I hope we all will.

Take care everyone xx

@Wearenotyourkind heyyy, I'm about 1 dpo today I'd say, but we did self insemination once on Thursday, we didn't use my syringes we used the cup method again but if there's another time I'll be using the syringes as the cup just isn't comfortable. I hope your cycles sort themselves out? That's super irritating x

Hey gang

@jx0x0 great news that you have a plan! Of course we still want you around if going through IVF, you're stuck with us now. I really hope you don't need to take the next step though...when is AF due this month?

How's the acupuncture going @hwotsit? I was looking into this myself recently. Sorry to hear you've been feeling down. Is work still really stressful?

How are you doing @Missgoldilocks? You must be a few days DPO by now? Did you give self insemination a go this cycle? I totally hear you about wanting to give tour partner a child. My husband turns 40 next year and I really want this to happen before then.

Lovely to hear from you @Positivity2019. Are you all set for back to school soon? How's your cycles been since the MC? Mine are still weird. I'm currently on CD23 and still bleeding from what I presume is AF (from CD1). Also no sign of ovulation again. It's so frustrating. I think I'd feel so much better and more in control if my cycle was at least back to some semblance of normal. But at the moment, I feel shit as we can't even carry on TTC. I've read that cycles can take a few months to settle down after a MC, but don't know if this still to be expected.

Missgoldilocks · 10/08/2020 08:57

@Positivity2019 yes let's all hope we get bfps for Xmas because I too can't deal with it much longer! I think I'm 1dpo today but will dtd tonight just in case, we dtd from cd11 this month so gave it our best shot. I have my hopes high on this month since I have in the past got pregnant in August near on 3 times... It sounds silly but yeah..
Good luck to all xx

Hi guys, how are we all doing?
@jx0x0 I wish you all the luck in your IVF journey. Please do keep chatting. It is definitely something that my partner and I have discussed so it would be good to hear your knowledge and experience.

@hwotsit sorry to hear that it’s stressful for you just now. It’s so hard when work is stress and TTC is stress and it just feels hopeless. I found wfh really difficult but thankfully I’m back to school next week and can get a semi normal routine back. Please take care and I hope you’ve relaxed some over these hot n sunny days.

@Missgoldilocks well done on a steady weight loss. That must feel great!! I know it’s so heartbreaking to see your partner yearning for a child but it’s just not happening. It’s how I feel too. It’s an unbelievable feeling of failure and I really feel like I’m letting my lovely guy down. However, I know you and your DP have been on such a journey and It’s so sweet to hear he is up there in his enthusiasm for your TTC and that although it feels sooo far away, you’ve a solid plan going forward from Jan and your appointment to get things underway. I will always have faith and hope for you and everyone here to get their BFP soon. Before Xmas!!!!! Please before Xmas!!!!

That’s my hope that we are expecting again before Xmas but if not then we will be seeking some kind of help I think. I’m just at the end of my tether, don’t know how much longer I have in me for all this.

@Wearenotyourkind hope you’re fine lovely.

Missgoldilocks · 03/08/2020 21:57

@jx0x0 oh that's excellent news!!! I wish you all the best! It can be quite draining in itself IVF my sister is currerntly going through it right now! I hope it runs smoothly for you though and I think it's great that you Kind of have a time on it then like a direction if you will! We will definitely be going private in January of we haven't got a bfp by then for IVF

Please do keep chatting let us know how you get on xx

I'm entering fertile week in a day or two, I have relaxed a lot the past 2 weeks steadily lost 1kg a week which I'm happy with. It seems now my OH is the one wanting a baby more and more, he says he wants it before his next birthday which is July next year, its quite upsetting when I see him looking at little kids with that wistful smile, it's quite new and I'm desperate to give him what he wants.

You're right, Ttc is absolutely heart wrenching so thank god we find people that are on a similar journey to us to talk to x

Thank you for your lovely message @hwotsit. Yes, we have already had tests done and everything looks ok aside from my cervix which is v narrow / partly closed. I will need to have a cervical dilation in Oct before the transfer. My DH's job means he is sometimes away at short notice so we want to get the egg collection / blastocysts done while we are both still working from home.

The HFEA website is best place to go to find a clinic. You can type in your postcode and it comes up with a list of options. Worth checking their success rates and reviews. Also I typed in the name of my consultant into mumsnet and saw what other women had said about him.

I am sorry you have been feeling down. And I am sorry you are experiencing work stress. I was feeling really stressed other day and I my DH gave me a head massage - like they do in the hairdresser. Get your DH to give you one!! I think ttc has defo made me look after myself and both my physical and mental health more. Are you able to work from home at all at the moment? If not could you negotiate that?

TTC is the most isolating and heart wrenching thing I have ever gone through. It's nice talking on here - it's helped me a lot.

Big love to all. We must be due some good news soon! Sending positive vibes to all. X
