Is anyone TTC after Mirena Coil removal?

Had my coil removed a week past on Monday to TTC baby no 3. I'm 36 soon, 9 years older than at my last pregnancy so no idea if it will be harder this time. My other 2, we conceived first cycle. I don't even know when or if to expect a period so that I can time when I might be ovulating, since I haven't had a period on the coil for 5 yrs. Not even really looking for advice I suppose, just to see if anyone is in same boat with TTC after having a coil removed?

🤣 @EJay84 I’ve been a bit mad symptom spotting but I’m going to try to stop now as I think it’s quite likely I’ve not even ovulated yet 😩 its been a month since removal and nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️

EJay84 · 02/08/2020 18:25

@Amy259 Oh I'm symptom spotting alright. Noted every last thing down in the Ovia app just incase lol. I've had mild cramping for days and been up peeing several times a night and then every hour in the morning until about lunch time. I never wake up for a pee usually. Been watching YouTube videos for each DPO and then people line progressions on their pregnancy tests from 8DPO onwards. For someone who up to a few months ago was never having another child as long as they lived, I've taken quite a U Turn and become obsessive. I'm actually a nightmare 😂 I've already picked TShirts for my 2 kids to break my imaginary news and worked out my potential due date. Oh. and made a list of boys and girls names 🙈

@EJay84 I’m not sure I’d get away with that, he’d start thinking of it as a chore I think. Once a week would be fine for him normally! How are you feeling? Started the dreaded symptom spotting yet..? I’ve not even ov yet and I’m having to stop my head from running away with ideas of how to tell OH/parents 🙈 x

EJay84 · 02/08/2020 15:02

You too @Amy259. You're kinder than me lol. I made DH came pay me a visit every day for a week 🙈 Tell me about it, I was terrified of getting pregnant in my younger years. It's such a small window of opportunity x

@Athena1985 thanks for posting - amazing news, congratulations! ♥️ I’ve had my long wait after removal and my first period, so fingers crossed that happens to me too!

@EJay84 it makes me laugh how much we’re taught in school that if we’re not careful we’ll all end up pregnant when actually getting it right is pretty specific science! 😂 I had dreams last night about ovulating, definitely stressing that I’m stressing too much 😂

Got my “high” reading on my OPK this morning, highest so far at 0.95, and my flashing smiley on my CB digital ov went static. So will check OPK a couple of times today and tomorrow but can’t imagine peak is far!! We BD Thurs, yest and this morning so might give him a rest until tomorrow night now 😂 hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! X

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 22:17

@Athena1985 fab news Congrats! That’s exactly what happened when I conceived my third son, so as long as I can finally get AF I’m hoping I can do it again soon after!

Athena1985 · 01/08/2020 22:11

Fingers crossed for you- don’t forget to post the outcome :) and Thankyou :) I really did not think I would get pregnant this quickly after having the coil in for so long :) there is hope definatLy :)

EJay84 · 01/08/2020 21:48

@Athena1985 I'm so glad you are a success story. I had colil out then period 2 weeks later and used test strips from day 10-16 until I got my peak. Fingers crossed we've managed to catch a wee egg. Massive congratulations ❤

Had my coil out May 22nd got some spotting 2 days later , I then had a proper period 28th June , I “guessed” 2 weeks later I would be ovulating ( never used strips before so just guessed an average of 28 days as I’ve had coils in for ten years ( obviously one after the other ) and I am now 5 weeks pregnant ! I guess what I’m saying is wait till you have a proper period and then you will know roughly about two weeks later you’ll be fertile but if you want to know the exact I’d deffo try ovulation strips , I’m 35 this is my first and I have been using the coil since I was 22 so you can deffo get pregnant pretty quickly !

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 20:02

@EJay84 yep me too! Typical isn’t it!

EJay84 · 01/08/2020 18:45

It's a total minefield isn't it? I have no idea how I conceived my first 2 so quickly. I didn't track anything or BD that regular, just here n there in the hope it would happen. I bet I overthink it to extreme this time and it won't work! x

If you get a peak @Amy259 then you should ovulate within 12-36 hours so usually you assume next day then the day after that is 1dpo. The most reliable method of knowing is seeing a temp shift though as opks don’t necessarily mean you’ve ovulated just that you’re body is trying to. Whereas a temp shift pretty much means you have ovulated so go by that.

Amy259 · 01/08/2020 16:04

@EJay84 so if you peaked on CD14 do you think you ovulated CD15? I’m not sure how that part works.. so are you 2DPO now? I’ll be a total nightmare too, I have no doubt about that 😂

EJay84 · 01/08/2020 15:56

@Amy259 symptom spotting like crazy here lol. Was up 3x during the night to pee and been every hour since waking, which is unheard of. Just tried to have some lunch and a bottle of Sprite and my mouth tastes disgusting so couldn't eat or drink it. Wishful thinking I suppose . Immersed in YouTube videos about symptom spotting and BFP's from 8DPO 🙈 I'm going to be an absolute nightmare through all of this!

@LaceyMermaid fingers crossed for a positive OPK for you soon. I had a faint test then a glaringly positive one then faint again on the 3rd day and BD 7 days in a row over that period so trying to be hopeful. x

Oh yes tww is so in and because of this I've now essentially had a 3ww!!

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 13:33

@Amy259 that’s good I don’t know too much about the temps but there’s lot so n here they do so cian advice you!
We definitely dtd around 20th and have generally been doing it lots but I don’t know if we did it on 24th! I can’t remember! But hopefully we’ve done enough to be in with a shot!

Amy259 · 01/08/2020 13:28

@LaceyMermaid I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, keep us updated! I’m so impatient so whilst I’m excited for ov I’m also dreading the tww 😂 did you hopefully coincidentally DTD around both 20th and 24th?

Yeah I temp too, looks like I sit around 35.9-36.1 before I ovulate then go way up to 36.5-36.7 afterwards, according to last month when I was just trying to figure it all out. Every now and then I do get a really random value though, this morning it was way down at 35.7!

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 13:23

@Amy259 yay for something happening for you! I would say do you bbt temp too though

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 13:23

@Amy259 yes I’ve been using Femometer ones that said I ovulated on 20th July which is why I thought I was 13dpo today. Apparently your temp is more accurate to show ovulation though so I’d been doing that too luckily and that shows I ovulated on 24th July instead which puts me back a bit. It would explain why I’ve not had AF but still getting BFN so we’ll see what happens over the next week! Hopefully something will happen or I just feel like I’m in limbo 😩 I’m 38 too so not exactly got time on my side!

Amy259 · 01/08/2020 13:06

@LaceyMermaid I use the Premom LH strips and app where it takes a photo and works out your levels that way. My ratio has consistently sat around 0.2 then yesterday it was 0.32 and today it’s 0.47 so something is happening!! Fingers crossed ovulation is soon. Do you use strips too?

LaceyMermaid · 01/08/2020 13:02

@Amy259 FF now puts me at 7dpo according to my temps so hopefully I’ll see something soon!! Even AF would be fine at this point!

Amy259 · 01/08/2020 12:42

@EJay84 so sorry to hear about your husband’s family, what a hard time for you all. My OH is doing well to put up with me too, he’s sticking to the plan haha. He’s also started making wee comments about a potential baby which has been lovely! How’s the tww treating you?

@LaceyMermaid I got my coil out on 11th June and I’m not sure if I then ov because I wasn’t checking, but then AF eventually arrived 16th July. So tracking LH now waiting for my peak, which I think will come in the next 3-4 days. Then a no doubt agonising 2 week wait!!

@Mich2020 great news that you have your op date sorted, I’ll keep everything crossed for you xx

Mich2020 · 31/07/2020 22:52

Have my op on 13th August. Hoping I have a positive outcome from this. Thank you xx

LaceyMermaid · 31/07/2020 22:36

@Mich2020 and you 🙁 hope it goes ok at the dr for you 🤞🏻

LaceyMermaid · 31/07/2020 22:34

@Amy259 wow you’ve been waiting longer than me bless you! So frustrating 😤
