Is anyone TTC after Mirena Coil removal?

Had my coil removed a week past on Monday to TTC baby no 3. I'm 36 soon, 9 years older than at my last pregnancy so no idea if it will be harder this time. My other 2, we conceived first cycle. I don't even know when or if to expect a period so that I can time when I might be ovulating, since I haven't had a period on the coil for 5 yrs. Not even really looking for advice I suppose, just to see if anyone is in same boat with TTC after having a coil removed?

Hi @Babybees that sounds perfect to me. You’re supposed to have a withdrawal bleed within a few days of removal and then a proper period so your on track! I’d start trying if I were you.

Babybees · 31/08/2020 13:37

Hi, sorry thought I’d join in and ask some questions. I had a Mireya for about 2years then moved to a jaydess for a year. Had it’s removed end on July. I have had two periods one days after removal lasted 2days. Then the last one was 16 days ago and lasted longer and more intense. Is this a good sign or the hormones leaving my body? Would anyone recommend we start try or wait till I know my cycle.
I hope I worded that correctly ConfusedSmile

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for you @sup99
I think my cycle is still messed up after Mirena, this is only my second period. My first was very very light and this seems to be going the same way! Plus my lutheal phase was shorter this time.

sup99 · 31/08/2020 13:29

@LaceyMermaid Ahh sorry to hear you're spotting! I'm 8dpo today, haven't tested yet. Planning to try tomorrow! I feel some twinges and pulling sensation from 6dpo. Don't know if that means anything. Not getting my hopes up.

LaceyMermaid · 31/08/2020 08:37

@sup99 how’s things?
@Amy259 hope your wedding was fab!
I’ve been spotting since yesterday, I’m expecting it to turn into AF today

LaceyMermaid · 29/08/2020 13:29

@sup99 ooh exciting you’re not far behind me! I’m 11dpo. Caved and tested yesterday but BFN so now feel like it’s not my month

sup99 · 29/08/2020 13:22

@LaceyMermaid hey how you getting on.??? What dpo are you today and when are you planning to test? I'm 6dpo today and trying hard not to symptom spot and planning to test Tuesday.🙈

Gem83ok · 26/08/2020 09:28

@LaceyMermaid I know! I read up on mirena crash and I’m literally ticking off so many on the list. And the fact it’s a hormonal issue is a bit ironic as the reason I chose mirena is because it was a minimal hormonal approach as hormonal changes always drive me crazy - I get hyperemesis in pregnancy etc. - and I guess I was being too optimistic thinking coming off mirena would be an easy ride. 😂 thanks for helping me figure this out!

LaceyMermaid · 25/08/2020 22:53

@Gem83ok amazing how much the Mirena messes with our body!

Gem83ok · 25/08/2020 21:40

Thanks @LaceyMermaid, have looked it up and it does sound like that. Maybe it’s inwards from here then, this moth has been much much better pre-menstrually. Appreciate your message, I was starting to go mad!

LaceyMermaid · 25/08/2020 20:17

I’ve heard there is something called the Mirena crash @Gem83ok so sounds like you’ve had that! 🤞🏻 You’ll have more luck from now on and get your BFP. I’m the same and always fell quickly with my other 3 but might be different this time as I’m 38

Gem83ok · 25/08/2020 13:05

Hi there. Hope it’s ok to join. I’m 36. I had my mirena removed beginning of April and have had awful symptoms until July - extremely tired, bloated nausea etc. for 10 days before AF. TTC No 4- youngest kid is 8 now and all other babies were conceived in first cycle. This month I’m not as symptomatic before AF due on Friday, the tiredness and nausea only started yesterday. Tested today and it’s another negative. I know I’m a lot older right now but I can’t help feeling frustrated. The pre-menstruation symptoms are really disruptive. I’ve never had it before. Has anyone experienced any of this?

LaceyMermaid · 24/08/2020 12:07

@AKC88 fingers crossed you’ll get something happen soon!

AKC88 · 24/08/2020 10:52

@LaceyMermaid I was doing OPK's and got a peak on 8th August but nothing more than that at this stage.

@Amy259 god I hope so I don't even want to spend time with me if that's how it's going to be every month Grin Hope you have a magical wedding day!

@EJay84 huge congratulations!

LaceyMermaid · 23/08/2020 21:57

@Amy259 how exciting! That’s an excellent distraction!
I hope I am ovulating 🤞🏻 My chart does look quite promising and FF bad Femometer have both detected ovulation without the opks

Amy259 · 23/08/2020 21:44

@sup99 yay! Glad you got your peak! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

@LaceyMermaid hope the tww isn’t treating you too badly. That temp spike was so clear so hopefully you did ovulate and you get a pleasant surprise 🤞🏻

@AKC88 my PMS was wild before the first af after my coil removal, physically and emotionally! This time round it was much better though, so hopefully it’s just super intense the first time back..? Who knows!

I’m on cd9 here so going to start OPKs tomorrow again. Our wedding has been given the go ahead for Friday so that’s keeping me (very) occupied this cycle - much obsessing and far less impatient because I’m busy! X

LaceyMermaid · 23/08/2020 18:32

It’s so weird isn’t it?! @sup99 when I had my Mirena in I would get EWCM - no idea when in my cycle it was as I didn’t have periods but now I want some there’s not much! I think I might take soy isoflavones next cycle to try to make my ovulation stronger as I’m not 100% sure it’s working properly yet. I do have a temp spike though so hopefully I am and I’m just being impatient! I just find it weird how I got a peak opk last month when I had Mirena out and was waiting for period, but none this cycle?!

sup99 · 23/08/2020 18:27

Stay positive @LaceyMermaid !! It's strange I hadn't taken anything nor checked opk's last cycle but had lots of ewcm on cd16. This cycle i have been regularly taking Primrose oil supplements and no noticible ewcm 🙄

LaceyMermaid · 23/08/2020 17:08

@sup99 hooray! I’ve stopped testing for opks now as never did get a peak this cycle. According to my bbt I’m 6 DPO so just waiting for AF really! Don’t think it’s happened this month with the lack of peak opks. Weird I didn’t get much ewcm this month either despite drinking grapefruit juice to increase it.

sup99 · 23/08/2020 17:01

@LaceyMermaid @Amy259 i had a peak opk yesterday morning so considering today as o day! However had not a lot of ewcm like i had last cycle and not many signs and symptoms. How are you both getting on?

LaceyMermaid · 22/08/2020 07:49

@AKC88 hooray! Did you do any cycle tracking? I don’t think I actually ovulated on that first cycle so you can tell him that! It was impossible to get you pregnant! They are unrealistic though don’t think my DH has a clue about timings or anything!

AKC88 · 21/08/2020 22:06

Hey everyone!

Finally got my af today after my removal on 9th July!

Has anyone else has horrible PMS symptoms after Mirena removal?? I've never had many side effects before having the coil but since Monday it's been horrible, feeling tired, sick, sore boobs cry at the drop of a hat and the worst mood swings, to the point I know I'm being unreasonable but I can't stop myself being a cow 😂.

We weren't actively trying this month just getting an idea of my cycle etc but hubby drops on me earlier he's disappointed it didn't happen! I swear they think they are superman 🤣

LaceyMermaid · 21/08/2020 21:31

Hope so! 🤞🏻 Hard not to symptom spot isn’t it

EJay84 · 21/08/2020 21:27

Fingers crossed it's a good sign x

So weird as unless I ovulated earlier than I thought its not time for AF! It’s proper cramping!
