Is anyone TTC after Mirena Coil removal?

Had my coil removed a week past on Monday to TTC baby no 3. I'm 36 soon, 9 years older than at my last pregnancy so no idea if it will be harder this time. My other 2, we conceived first cycle. I don't even know when or if to expect a period so that I can time when I might be ovulating, since I haven't had a period on the coil for 5 yrs. Not even really looking for advice I suppose, just to see if anyone is in same boat with TTC after having a coil removed?

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Let’s hope our bodies go back to normal after Mirena!

@LaceyMermaid we've said the same but trying to be hopeful after a terrible year. I'm in the same boat, hubby wanted another for yrs and I've said no. I'm hoping I don't have any issues as I have Crohn's disease and have had half my bowel removed and have absorption issues so I take a lot of supplements but often have low levels of various vitamins x

Very similar here @EJay84 husband has wanted one more for a few years, I wasn’t so keen thought I was a bit old and past it (meaning I’ve got a nearly 17 year old, 15 year old and nearly 12 year old!) but spending time as a family in lockdown made me reconsider that actually family is what I love and adding to it would be quite good! Except now I probably find I can’t! But we’ve said if we can’t we can’t and that’s the end.

@Amy259 I was testing for ov completely blind as it's been 9 yrs I have had a coil and no idea what my cycle looks like. I got a definite peak on CD 14 and a faint line then next day so counting from there. My OH has done well putting up with me the past few days. He has gone for a jog twice and cycling once and all 3 times I was like, 'Will you come and see me 1st please?' I've read that heat from exercise can kill a man's sperm so wasn't taking any chances lol. It's so hard with a 9 and 11 year old wandering around the house, trying to get peace to DTD. I've been making OH give me a big O after finishing as I also read this can help propel the sperm up there 😂 I've actually lost the plot!

@LaceyMermaid I'm nearly 36 and decided after years of saying 'never in a million years' to try for baby #3. My DH lost his sister and mum in the space of 6 months last year and then with all this lockdown carry on, we decided life is too short and while we still can, we'd try for another. x

Hi all! So glad to find this thread because I’m in the exact same position and it’s driving me mad. Had coil out on 2/7 ttc#4 if I can. Nearly 12 years since last baby 😱 I’m 38. No bleed or period yet at all and I thought I had ovulated because I've been using opks and temping and fermometer says I have BUT someone on another thread told me today my chart looks like I haven’t ovulated and FF app agreed with her! So now having thought I’m 12dpo I feel like nothing has happened and I’m back to square one! 😭
If it helps anyone else I had my coil removed TTC #3 and had one period then conceived so I know it can happen quickly.

Hi @EJay84, lovely to check in again 🥰

Weird - I’m on CD16 too! No peak yet though, I’m sure I remember my cycles (5+ years ago before the mirena) were 5 weeks, which would tie in because I got my AF exactly 5 weeks after my withdrawal bleed start date.. so I hope I’m right 😂

That means I should peak Tuesday/Wednesday this week coming, then ovulate Thursday, which is what my app is predicting too! Currently DTD every other day then when my LH starts to go up we’ll go to every day. OH has been pre-warned haha. Keeping everything crossed for you!! X

Mich, do you have a date for your op? x

How are you guys? Amy, any sign of your period yet? I had a period then ovulated on CD 14 as had a a peak OPK. Have been DTD every day for a week lol. On CD16 today and hoping we've managed to catch a wee egg. x

@EJay84 I haven’t had a period in 5 years but have spent the last 2.5 weeks feeling the way I would just before I was due on.. bloated, fatigued, craving beige food!! Definitely not pregnant, but feel like I’m in a constant state of PMS and just want it to come now. Considering trying agnus castus to help it along...

@Mich2020 that’s such a long time, poor you! I don’t feel like they emphasised this enough when I got mine in... all I remember is being told my fertility would go straight back to normal, none of this messing with your cycles stuff! Fingers crossed you get that appointment really soon x

Mich2020 · 15/07/2020 09:02

Had my coil out in October 2018. Took until March 2019 to have a proper period. Still ttc now and waiting for an operation for endo, where the gynaecologist is going to flush my tubes too. Good luck to you though and hope it's not a long wait x

EJay84 · 14/07/2020 23:23

I'm the same as you @Amy259. I just wanna know where I'm at. I'm 35 and TTC no 3. Youngest is 9. Decided we want to try for one more before we're too old lol. I fell pregnant so easily the 1st twice. Scared it's gonna be hard this time and I'll end up disappointed. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you it arrives soon so u can start tracking. I haven't had a period in almost 10 yrs x

I am! Had my coil out on 11/06 and still no sign of a period... becoming increasingly impatient. Just want it to arrive to I know where I’m at and can start tracking properly. TTC number 1 and I’ll be 30 soon Smile
