Hey girls as we are about to get thrown out of our thread I have started a new one so we can continue manically looking for EWCM, sore (.)(.)s and orange feet whilst chanting 'in with love, out with BFNs'.

Come on over/in

madoldbird · 03/11/2007 17:10

Whoops, just read that back. REALLY can't spell today!

madoldbird · 03/11/2007 17:09

Good afternoon everyone!!

penguinmum WOW big great news.

shrekmissus how are you doing cycle buddy? I have to say i swing from wildly optomistic (can't spell today - ooh, is it a symptom?!) to devestatingly pesamsistic. DH is so, so excited ATM i don't want him to be disappointed. You sound like you have positive symptoms, though, have got my fingers firmly crossed for you!

GG pleased to hear DH is making it up to you!!

Well i have the usual tender boobs starting which i know i get each month regardless. Today i have loads of creamy CM which i know must be too early to be a sign (only got smiley face on OPK monday) but at least its something to keep my hopes up!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, here's for more good news next week.

XX

coolkat · 03/11/2007 15:32

Good afternoon ladies - Anyone for afternoon tea and cake!! Having a lazy one as we are out at a fireworks display later.

Well my boobies still defo feel funny but could this be how they are supposed to feel prior to AF arrival when your not on the pill? Also keep having really dull heavy headaches. Don't know when to test again part of me wants to but then I would sooner keep guessing then get a negative result IYSWIM

Hope your all well Congrats PM on your BFP

congrats penguinmum!!!

GG have a wonderful weekend away. good old DH, hope he takes you somewhere fabulous!

welcome to the 2ww lips where every twinge is a pg symptom!

sweetkitty · 03/11/2007 15:01

huge congratulations penguinmum

screaminglip - last day I BD'ed was CD14 and we know what happened

GG - have a lovely weekend away xxx

GryffinGirl · 03/11/2007 11:43

Morning all! Lovely DH is taking me away for a surprise night because he cancelled out holidays. I may even start speaking to him again . Plenty of BD-ing, but at CD24 or so it will be the no pressure fun stuff, hurrah! I hope it involves a fireworkds display somewhere. I love them and bonfires! Hope Finn will be ok this weekend, Bucky with all the bangs and load noises.

DG - my cycle usually comes in at 28 days, give or take one day either side. I am pretty clockwork except for that one moth I was late and gave all you ladies a heart attack with failed tests, so it's four days until i can test legitimately (unless I fail to resist the temptation. I have a Clear Blue in my handbag in case of "emergencies" )

DG/terra - not sure about the pros and cons for taking agnus castus. There are other threads on here where people debate whether it is a good idea to take it. From memory, i think Agnus castus it is supposed to be excellent, but the concensus seemed to be that it was powerful stuff and probably best taken with medical supervision. I'll check with my sis, the oracle of all things medical and see if she has a view. Atilla The Meercat who posts a lot and seems knowledgable might be the one to ask/look for if you need more detail.

pixie - PMSL at your DP being the BFG at 6'7" which must be mighty interesting TTC when you are only six inches high . How does he fit in the toadstool??

Have a lovely weekend ladies. Is anyone due to test? I'll have a quick peek at the baby waiting room and see where everyone is up to.

GGx

sarahnh · 03/11/2007 11:41

big congrats penguin mum!!! you have given me hope!! also queasy for last few days and very sore (..) and lots of bfns but you never know!!!

superblastofflips · 03/11/2007 11:31

YEY!! Penguin, Big congrats!!!!!

well im on here now and on CD16, cycle 1 ttc#2.
i bd'ing on CD14 - it was my last day fertile day on CD14) and CD15...cant do anymore as Dp had pulled his back badly..ended up in A+E all nite! (he was playing Golf and pulled his back muscles)....so it be lucky if im pg this month!!!

penguinmum · 03/11/2007 11:24

hello girls. my symptoms were real this time!!! bfp this morning

glad i wasn't just imagining it!!

digitalgirl · 02/11/2007 23:35

libralady thanks for the tip, I've heard about agnus castus before but not really researched it properly yet (what? DG not doing her homework?? ). I'm not sure how I feel about herbs, I quite like the idea of acupuncture and/or reflexology as that's kind of manipulating what's already in my body...but I'm sure I'll try anything after a few more cycles!

bucky hope you're successfully seducing DP right now . Have seen The Prestige, I thought it was very good!

mtw looking at the clock, we're nearly on CD7, didn't that fly by?

pixie no special supplier, got TCOYF off Amazon along with another book by Zita something...came in 4 days. But I ordered after the postal strike, maybe yours got lost in the post? Sorry your feeling - those pains must be annoying. Can you contact the people that did your scan and see what their opinion is? I'm having odd womb-cramps (not painful) at the moment, not sure what that's all about.

sarahnh symptoms sound very good. Although I'd definitely keep bd'ing - it's not unheard of to Ov at CD29!! If the nips and CM stop suddenly then you might find that's the case! Fingers crossed its a BFP soon!!

terramum stress will definitely delay ov. Hope you can relax over the next couple of weeks and good luck with ttcing! PMDD is a new acronym for me (what does it stand for?)...but sorry to hear your .

Right, after an exhausting phone conversation with my mother I'm off to join DH in bed. Maybe we can BD these womb-throbs away! Night everyone!

07mumstheword · 02/11/2007 23:11

Pixie I'm sorry you're feeling today and that you seem to be having ongoing pains. Hope things sort themselves out soon. DP 6'7" very tall! How tall are you? My DH is 6' and I'm 5'3" so I do have to wear heels!

Sarahnh When I was last PG I had lots of CM so don't give up hope yet!

terramum · 02/11/2007 21:31

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone & thanks especially to digitalgirl for that lovely detailed post. What you say makes perfect sense to me. Yes it would be lovely if I was pg & I just had really really low hcg levels...but I know in my heart that I?m probably not. We?ve had a LOT of stress in the past couple of months so I was thinking that ovulation might not have happened when I first thought...but didn?t really understand why I was getting more ov symptoms afterwards that didn't then change to pre-AF ones...and carried on for the past 2-3 weeks...so put them down as pg ones instead .

I think I will just ride it out as best I can & wait for AF. I have some cheapy very early pg tests in the post from ebay so I can satisfy my curiosity about being pg in the meantime as well without breaking the bank!

I actually have a copy of TCOYF...think I need to read it bit more as I don?t remember much of this in it . I think at the very least this cycle has hammered it home that I do need to sort my hormones out once & for all. I don?t mind the long cycles so much, they?ve been that way since I started back when was 11...but the PMS is really getting me down & ruling my life more than it used to. I?ve always had it but since AF started again after DS was born it?s got really really pad & tbh I think I have PMDD now ....and twice a month as well coz I get it before OV as well as AF. I?ve been looking at various 'natural' ways that might help it but there doesn?t seem to be much as I am still Bfing DS but from a quick look agnus castus might well be ok with that...shall have to do some more reading I think! Thanks for the tip libralady.

sarahnh · 02/11/2007 21:17

Evening ladies , well c29 and still no af.. been having cramps on and off all day so she may yet rear her ugly head, but nips incredibly sore and sorry (tmi) loads of cm, long and stringy!!!! maybe i am ovulating again???!!! ( highly unlikely!!)

pixie04 · 02/11/2007 20:55

Hello everyone,

Am feeling tonight. I am still having OV pains in my left side. Although my nips have gotten very sore as normal post OV my cervix is still high, open but... firm?! I have not a clue whats going on. I think I'm having issues poppin my egg either that or I have endo deposits on my left ovary that they missed on the scan because I have had a stitch like pain for 5 days now! It's getting me down a bit, well a lot. I'm sick of being in pain.

Sorry, Hi CBCB really pleased to see you on here x hope all is going well for you.

DG you really are becoming an expert. Where did you get your copy of "taking charge of your fertility" from? I ordered mine nearly 5 weeks ago...... and it ain't here!

Bucky I permenantly have neck ache this pixie is dating the BFG. DP's 6 ft 7" I LOVE IT

Bucky2007 · 02/11/2007 20:37

Mmm I could kill for a big slice of treacle tart and ice cream mmm. Is that a symptom bit early at the mo.

I cricked my neck looking up at this tall bloke in my office today and tried to convince him that he had committed GBH by being so tall. Its still killing me, what with the toxoplasmosis (that I don't appear to now have), oven cleaner poisoning (that I did not die of) and now a pain in the neck its all gone a bit Pete Tong .

I am going to watch The Prestige on DVD now and then might try and seduce DP. Hmm I have big competition at the moment. It could be difficult!

Evening ladies,
Just caught up with this thread. Just remembered something from another thread a while ago which may help DG & Terramum
Have you thought of taking Agnus Castus to try and settle your cycle?
Apparently you can get it from somewhere like Holland and Barrett and take it daily to regulate your cycle although you can't take it when pregnant. Did think about trying it myself if I still had problems after a few months (took me over 3 years to get pg with DS after being told I didn't ovulate and my cycles all over the place) although this time I conceived in my 4th month of trying and am now 5+2.

07mumstheword · 02/11/2007 19:34

terramum I told you DG would help!

DG Yet again you amaze me with your depth of knowledge. If ever you need a career change don't worry about any official qualifications - you could be a TTC Life Coach!

Bucky I live on the outskirts of Bristol - classed as South Gloucestershire now. Was thinking of all the things that have taken your mind off TTC, especially Finn - I bet not obsessing helps, this could actually be your month, so long as you BD of course!

Bucky2007 · 02/11/2007 19:06

All I want to say today is Digitalgirl WOW [Shock] you are the oracle and sound like a doctor. You go girl.

No for me on the OPKs again today. Tomorrow was the day last month CD14 so we will see although somehow I think I am going to have a 31CD-er again this month so it will be later and I will have run out of pee sticks.

If I do get a BFP this month it will be a miracle what with all the stress from the burglary, the amount of vino I have quaffed, my failure to take my Folic Acid due to dog distraction and lack of BDing because we are all loved up with Finn and talk about nothing else...'What is Mr Finn doing now?, Did Mr Finn poop today?, How did Finn walk on his lead today?, Does finn look sad? Did the dog walker leave finn a school note today? etc etc. Doesn't make for a very raunchy atmosphere.

Hi CBCB nice to see you around.

O7MTW Where abouts do you live? My parents live near Cirencester so I am not from far from Bath originally either.

Welcome Terramum

Congratulations again Sweetkitty It's so exciting .

Good evening ladies

Bucky Glad you are ok, and hey, if you get a BFP this month, we'll ALL be doing it!!!

hedgepig Ooh sounds good, when are you going to test?

terramum sorry, no pearls of wisdom to add, but to hear you are having a rough time. The high cervix does sound like it may be your body attempting ovulation again, as i think DG said.

Anyone planning on testing over the weekend?

digitalgirl · 02/11/2007 18:32

Terramum hello! You poor thing, CD53 is a long time to wait with no answers.
Ok, here's my take based on the info in your post...

If you had sex 26 days ago, the egg would have implanted at the latest 14 days ago and you would have had two weeks to build up the HCG hormone that pregnancy tests pick up. Unless you're one of those rare women who take ages to build up the hormones then it's unlikely your pg.

You're body has probably made several attempts at ovulating over the past 7 weeks, hence the EWCM 26 days ago. You may even find you've had random days with EWCM and then nothing for ages. This is your body attempting to build up enough oestrogen hormone in order to release an egg. If your cervix is high, this is another fertile sign, so it's probably going for another attempt right now! Drink lots of grapefruit juice to encourage EWCM and keep having sex until the EWCM goes and your cervix drops back down again.

However, I have heard that when ovulation is so late the egg isn't always viable, so it may not implant or grow properly. If you'd rather wait till this cycle is over then do as much as you can to relax - book a massage and weekend away anything! Hopefully that should bring on ovulation and then two weeks later you should get your period. It's a bloody long time to wait though, so in the meantime go see your doctor. Tell them your cycle has been really long and you want a blood test to check your hormones. If possible, ask for a day 3 test, this should compare the two hormones in your body needed to bring on ovulation.

My doc referred me for a day 19/21 blood test which tests for the amount of progesterone in your body after you've ovulated. I'm not sure of the relevance of this yet as it's not 'after' ovulation I'm worried about yet, it's before.

Sorry for the long post. I hope this helps. I've been reading Toni Weschler's 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' even though I've only been trying for 3 cycles. It's really informative, TTC is so full of unknowns it's really helped me deal with having long cycles (my last three were 37, 41 then 50 days). I'm looking into acupuncture to try and bring them down to a normal length.

Good luck!

07mumstheword · 02/11/2007 16:25

Sorry terramum no advice but just wanted to say as hard as it must be please don't go completely mad! Digital Girl is probably the best for giving you advice as she has also been having long cycles and she is a fountain of all knowledge TTC! I'm sure she'll give you some pearls of wisdom later. sit tight.

terramum · 02/11/2007 16:21

Hello everyone - been hanging round here a little so thought I'd post here to relieve some of the stress

Currently on CD53 with no sign of AF...cycles are usually long...but not this long EVER! Usually around 36ish days...42 at the most.

Very very confused...we only BD once this month (our anniversary ) 26 days ago & I think I might have ovulated round then as I had EWCM...but wasn't thinking we'd get pg at all really...but here I am with no AF, having had all kinds of weird symptoms that come & go. Tested on CD38 & this morning, both negative . Cervix has been consistently high though for the past week or so & still is today...going a bit loopy as you can imagine - HELP!

sweetkitty · 02/11/2007 15:55

I STILL don't have any symptoms sometimes think my boobs are tingling but am probably making it up.
