Hey girls as we are about to get thrown out of our thread I have started a new one so we can continue manically looking for EWCM, sore (.)(.)s and orange feet whilst chanting 'in with love, out with BFNs'.

Come on over/in

I'm gonna go google that hotel it sounds lovely.

Can anyone recommend a decent thermometer please? I bought a boots digi one and it goes to .0 but it just gives random results, 38.2, try it again immediately and it says 38.6 etc etc absolute rubbish I'm quite annoyed with it really

PicknMix · 15/10/2007 20:28

07MTW another vote for fertilityfriend here too. Definitely tells you everything you could possible want to know. The only really important things to remember are to use a thermometer that works to .00 and to be religious about taking it at the same time each morning before you do anything. I've got quite good at taking it whilst practically still asleep and then if its my day off, I just go back to sleep again after. Although DH says the beeping from the (digital) thermometer wakes him up too (think this is only right that he has to experience something as well though! )

digitalgirl · 15/10/2007 20:27

clairePO - Bailiffscourt Hotel in W. Sussex, I definitely recommend it. DH and I already planning to go back, and this time not forget our swimming cossies.

picknmix - temps is something I've been meaning to do. I've got a digital thermometer, will that do?

bucky lol re: digital world. I do clap my hands for a cup of tea, but all DH says is 'what did your last slave die of?'

PicknMix · 15/10/2007 20:19

Evening all,

Glad to see you're back DG and you've had a fabulous time with your DH - we celebrated our 3 yr anniversary in July and were at how quickly the time had passed!

Thank you to all for your concern and good wishes - am sadly still feeling bit , in such a silly mood just cried down the phone at the woman from Next cos my delivery didn't turn up today and I stayed in to wait for it..... I have turned into a pathetic woman!!!!

Bucky you should def find a course or something to do - photography was fab and I now do a few jobs here and there professionly on the back of it. I'm not a drinker so my social life hasn't changed dramatically - my friends have all got used to me having a lemonade so nobody suspects a thing!

Pixie will be thinking of you tomorrow - what time is your appt? Just so I can be 'cyberly' squeezing your hand at the right time!

DG what you wrote sounds entirely plausible. I know I keep banging on about it but maybe you should try keeping check of your temperature. I've found my cycle is textbook so far (albeit very long) and its quite reassuring to know that. Also gives me something concrete to take to the dr should the bfns continue in the coming months.

Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 20:17

Dg I'm reading it all...I'll get there soon...

ClairePO · 15/10/2007 20:17

Hey DG that sounds like a lovely weekend, very relaxing! Whereabouts where you?

What you say does make sense as about 4-5 days after I had the surge I did have pains that could have been ov pain. I've had it before always the same side and this felt quite similar. So in that case if I'm a few days behind then hopefully AF will be due in a few days.

That said I'm know not sure about using the OPK's, I'm new to this to the whole EWCM is something I've never taken notice of. DP suggests just lots of BD all the time

Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 20:16

07MTW There is no place better than fertilityfriend. link. If there is any problem its that there is so much information!

Hi DG glad you've had a wonderful pamper. I did read your whole post I admire how well you know your body/cycle.

I've used opk for the first time this month and I don't have a clue about doing the temps. Can anyone recommend a good website with instructions of how to do the tempretures?

Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 19:58

Hey there you are!! I cross posted.

Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 19:57

Pixie do you think Digitalgirl has got lost in her digitalworld? I imagine dg lives in Virtual city and has a space car and a robot dog. All her appliances are voice activated and she claps her hand to get her morning cup of tea . I am worried though...WHERE IS SHE?? And its a most critical time of the month for her!

digitalgirl · 15/10/2007 19:55

Hello hello!
Sorry I left without saying goodbye, DH and I just got back from a lovely spa hotel. We left early Sunday morning, so no time to post and then stayed overnight. Had a massage yesterday and a pedicure and facial today. Feel wonderful. It's our three year anniversary tomorrow, can't believe how quickly the time goes!

Anyway, Sunday seemed like a sad day here. I hope everyone's feeling better today (even though it's Monday). After talking things over with DH, in far too much scientific detail, I think I've worked out what's happened to my body. So here goes (and ClairePO this might make explain your situation):

When I got the LH surge on CD20, I didn't actually ovulate. I didn't have any other ovulating symptoms. No EWCM, just creamy CM. BD'ed like crazy anyway thinking it was better to trust the OPK. Had no symptoms for a week, except odd brown cm which I thought was an implantation bleed.

Then got ill AND high cervix AND sore nips AND loads of EWCM on CD31. All this (except illness) continued till CD34. BD'ed CD30, CD32 and morning of CD35...but didn't 'hold it in' or stick a pillow under my bum coz I thought we were closed for business.

CD36 BFN and the beginnings of AF-style cramps

CD37 & CD38 (today) stronger AF cramps and sore boobs (not nips), but intermittent.

So, I think I actually ov'ed on CD34/35. My AF-level cramps are actually down to my uterus filling up with endo-lining (again, I'm guessing). I just hope that I don't get AF until at least CD45 to give the egg (if fertilised) a chance to implant.

Is anyone still reading this?

Anyway, have decided to give up the OPKs as I can now tell the difference between proper pre-ov EWCM and random EWCM that my body has been producing on and off throughout the first 30 days of my cycle.

Am concerned that this could mean a really long cycle (with no BFP at the end), even longer than the last one. And if it's a BFN then I'll have to wait until december to test again!

bucky I felt exactly how you're feeling when I gave up the booze. My social life seemed to collapse pathetically. I ended up telling a few friends that we're TTC to put a stop to the 'you're STILL detoxing, god how long for?' But work have no idea, and so much of what I do involves going to industry parties and drinking free booze. I'd be happy to meet up after work in RL if you fancy a hot chocolate. I live in North London and work in Soho, so could come meet you in Angel one day.
Also, wouldn't worry about two g&t's. I've had a couple of glasses of champagne this weekend, the odd drink here and there can't hurt. At least we've stopped binging

MOB sorry AF arrived.

pixie i was a complete monster last cycle. all my hormones conspired to turn me into Evil PMS dragon. I cried and cried and cried, screamed at DH. Sulked, slammed doors, felt v. sorry for myself. Sometimes, it's better to have a long hot bath, a good old cry and let it all out...can't have the stress building up inside you.

Who was it that kept asking their DH if the nipples looked different? I do that ALL THE TIME!

Anyway...sorry for mammoth post.

07mumstheword · 15/10/2007 19:54

pixie Glad things are better for you today. And I'd like to go in someones handbag so feel free to take me with you to the scan. Seriously I hope it all goes well.

ClairePO · 15/10/2007 19:23

Glad DH is being so kind and caring pixie sorry you're feeling poorly though

Good luck with the scan. What are they looking for?

I'm not testing again, I'm assuming things are just messing around post m/c and also I've never used those OPK's before so I could have read the results all wrong. Just a waiting game for TEW now.

pixie04 · 15/10/2007 19:02

Hello Ladies!

07MTW Thanks for the understanding I was feeling awful yesterday but its great knowign I'm not the only one about the spotting after sex I would go and see the doc. I bleed sometimes after sex but I have on going issues in that area. Best to get proffesional medical advice.

shreksmissus Sorry AF has shown her ugly face

Bucky Hello! I am hoping that being a physco is a symptom the emotionalness def is. I've moved around loads too so I feel your pain I really do am getting very settled now though.

Fairsnuff Thank you for the happy dust it did the trick Although I did have to sweep the toadstool! but I appreciatate it.

PicknMix sorry to hear about BFN it ain't over till TEW arrives!

madoldbird I want in on the resolutions I am exactly the same we can help each other.

Excitable HI! How are ya cycle buddy? I'm loving the group hug BTW.

ClairePO 18 DPO no AF and no BFP? I think you must just be taking a while to get your BFP because your AF should have arrived a good four days ago if your LH surge made you release an egg. hmmmm... when are you next testing?

and finally...

DIGITALGIRL WHERE ARE YOU? WHATS HAPPENING?

I'm feeling better. Yesterday was a bad day but somehow DP managed to make it all OK. When I got home I refused to talk about my bad mood and he pestered me to tell him but I didn't and I spent the whole day doing nice things for him. It worked well as by the end of the day he had agreed that he should be takling me on his nights out with him and he is paying for me to have my hair done on Friday. He also gave me lots of cuddles and made me feel better.

However I did end up with a stinking cold which I still have, a sty in my right eye and I had the worst migrane last night so today I feel like I've gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. I am wondering if these are all symptoms, but I did an OPK last night and it was negative.

I have my scan appointment tomorrow its internal to check my ovaries ect so if its ok I'm going to bring you all with me in my handbag. Do you mind?

madoldbird · 15/10/2007 18:29

shrekmissus hi cyclebuddy!! We'll have to do our best to restrain each other - or encourage each other in breaking the resolutions, depending on how we're feeling!! (...OF COURSE we will restrain ourselves)

ClairePO I hope that AF pays a visit, so you have your CD1. I'm sure we could all do with some chocolate - hope it's a big bar/box!

Fairysnuff sometimes i think my nipples could turn purple with pink spots and my DH wouldn't notice!!

07mumstheword CD15? definitely time for legitimate symptom spotting to begin!!

picknmix sorry to hear you have been feeling down today, i can understand your mixed emotions over your trip. Sounds like you are in need of chocolate today too!

Hello to everyone else!!

ClairePO · 15/10/2007 17:59

Hello everyone! Sorry about the BFN DG

Well, its been 18 days since I got an LH surge which was a few days after the m/c bleeding stopped. I've tested (OK I've tested a few times) and nothing, all BFN's. I have no AF symptoms and I just want her to get here so I can have a CD1. I've even bought a bloody thermometer (which is crap - Boots digital and it gives random readings). I'm already to start taking my temp, peeing on OPK's and checking for EWCM. I draw the line at cervical pursuit though. Where is AF, cowbag that she is

Anyone want some chocolate?

07mumstheword · 15/10/2007 15:53

CD15 and making up symptoms already arghh!

Appletise I know what you mean, it's so difficult when you are trying for get PG and others tell you they are. It will be out turn soon.

appletise · 15/10/2007 15:27

Hello all
taken a while to catch up, but your posts have definately cheered me up and soothed my 2ww symptoms!
am now on CD22 and the symptoms are really kicking in - strong abdominal cramps, sore boobs, all the same as last month so not overly hopeful for a BFP
To top it all off my sister has just announced her BFP, they were trying for 3months, i cryed uncontrollably for half hour then felt much better, it really was hard to display my happiness for her and the thing is i love her to bits.
Bucky I have just taken up salsa dancing lessons, absolutely brilliant and really good fun. Never thought i was that good at footwork but have impressed myself! and really takes your mind off any symptoms. Consequently am hooked on strictly come dancing (esp Gethan from Blue Peter i hope he remains til the final!)

fairysnuff · 15/10/2007 15:03

Ooh, I did that last night, no.5, I was looking at my boobs and said to DH,'do you think my nipples look different?'
He just said no, but then again, he didn't even look!!
humphf, men!

Hi Everyone - nothing much to report as AF has left and I'm just waiting to ovulate, but just wanted to tell you all that you sound like me two weeks ago. Hormones are a pile of old crap and turn you into a mad unreasonable woman. I feel your pain this week, I really do.

(({{Group hug}}))

Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 12:57

oh and O7MTW not at all offended. I didn't even realise that's what you meant...I figured you were saying when I get to join a group...etc etc.

OP posts:
Bucky2007 · 15/10/2007 12:56

Aw thanks girls. I was feeling pretty crappy over the weekend (feeling sorry for myself more like). I really do have a lot to be grateful for, I think I might be a bit hormonal. I def gave DP a really hard time. The courses are a good idea and not one I haven't thought of, the problem really is my work schedule and also me getting off my backside and doing something. It only really became an issue really recently when I stopped drinking. In my work there are more than enough opportunities to socialise and I do know people. Its just the type of friends you make are quite superficial. I think I may have to join a course and take a stand about my work day. Make sure I don't have to go to Scotland for example for a meeting the day I have watercolour classes or whatever else I choose to join. Photography sounds good too though. I know I sounded a bit outdoorsy, I'm really not, I just like to get a bit of exercise in.

Anyway its all me me me again. PicknMix how you feeling now? Its only been an hour since your post, but maybe you've had a big cream cake and feel better . This ttc lark is hard work emotionally, I am quite surprised just how hard actually. Feel free to bend my ear anytime .

Where's digitalgirl she seems to have gone AWOL.

OP posts:
07mumstheword · 15/10/2007 11:53

Bucky Just looked at your profile and realised you don't have any DC YET. I hope my comments yesterday didn't offend you. What I meant is when you do get PG a whole new social circle will evolve.

Madoldbird You've set yourself some pretty tough resolutions I know what you mean, we are lucky to have children already but it doesn't stop the yearning from deep inside that makes you want more. And I can see you'd desperately love to have one between you and new DH. Good Luck.

PicknMix · 15/10/2007 11:46

Madoldbird your post made me laugh as it resonates very closely with what I am trying not to do (although have pretty much failed on points 1-6 already and spent the best part of last night standing in front of various lights peering down my bra - nb note to self, light in bathroom defintely best light in house, no need to check all other rooms in future ).

Totally understand your point about not wanting to sound ungrateful for what you have, although I'm ttc no.1 I'm guessing it's just as hard no matter how many you already have.

Feel dreadfully 'down' today. Blaming hormones and the 2 bfns already experienced this month. Should be feeling happy as am off to Oz in 2 weeks but can't help feeling sad as am staying with SIL who has 2 dc's and is pregnant with third (20 wks). Its gonna be tough .

Must try harder to be more upbeat (making up my own mantra, but isn't having the right effect yet)
