TTC after Mirena removal

@amy259 I now the feeling. I don't really want to even conceive until September at the earliest (brothers wedding in Apr, so don't want to be ready to pop) but I'm desperate for my cycle to return, I was doing LH tests morning and evening, but I've decided to wait until my AF as its a waste of tests.
I've been using the app premom, you upload photos of your ovulation tests and it'll tell you when your peak is happening and ovulation is due etc. Very useful.
With my first baby, I came off of birth control (mini pill) and became pregnant before even getting my AF, so that's a bit of a positive for you xx

Hi @butterfly5291 I’m glad you didn’t have to - it didn’t last long but it was not a pleasant feeling!! I had it in for almost exactly 5 years.

I’ve been doing BBT since I had it out but they’re all over the place, I can’t see any pattern at all. And about a week ago I started doing an ov test every second morning, in the hope I’ll get some sort of idea as to what’s going on.

I definitely feel like the lack of cycle is making me more obsessive with the TTC than I should be at this early stage, I’m hoping I calm down once AF arrives. Lots of my friends have had babies recently and it’s blowing my mind now at how relaxed they were at the start, when they decided to just “let it happen”. Aside from my lack of period, I don’t really have a reason to be going as far as tracking temp, ov, etc but for some reason I feel like I need to. Anyone else??

Had my Mirena out on 11/06 and still waiting (5 weeks later) for my first period since. Had a bleed immediately after for 4 days but I assumed that was trauma rather than hormonal, as it was very light and I had to have my coil removed in the hosp (cervical dilation to retrieve it was not pleasant!!). Impatiently waiting for AF to hurry up and arrive so I know where I am in my cycle and can start planning to TTC. Feeling like I’m becoming a little obsessed and never thought I’d wish for a period!

Started tracking LH levels anyway, but still low at the moment

I had my mirena out after it had been in for 4.5yrs to TTC. I struggled with the thickness of my endometrial layer and didn’t have a period for more than four months. Had a scan around three months in and it turned out that I was ovulating but the thickness needed time to increase, apparently very common with women who’ve had mirenas in. GP told me anecdotally that some women who have this issue find success with acupuncture and Chinese medicine, so I booked myself in for a consultation after six months TTC- two of those with periods. Had four weeks of Accupuncture and a course of Chinese herbs recommended to increase my endometrial layer and got pregnant on month six of TTC.

I've never been so happy to see AF! She arrived this morning 😊 cycle-tracking starts now!

I had the mirena fitted, had it removed and my periods didn't come back m. I had to be referred for fertility treatment in order to have my little girl.

I had another one put in after having DD. I had that removed after 5 years, it had to be surgically removed and over a year on I have still not had periods return.

I say this not to worry you but to prepare you that it may not be plain sailing. Good luck!

@butterfly5291 really easy! The nurse said I was the easiest she'd had in a long time! I'm glad as I was so nervous

@butterfly5291 I used just the cheap OPK, and started testing 6 days after my period just to check what was going on and if everything had gone back to how it should be or whether it would take a while!

I got my merina out on the 7th of June, had my period 11th-14th, ovulated 25th June, and just got a bfp x

It's a method of swaying gender.
There's a book on amazon, and also a Facebook group. So many people successfully getting the gender they want! Worth checking out 😊

I hope the removal isn't too painful 😭 I stupidly booked a table at the pub for a meal tonight to celebrate our anniversary last week! Didn't think that through!

I'm having mine out on Monday! Then I'm going to track my cycle for a couple months as I plan to use the babydust method to try and concieve a baby girl!
Glad to hear people cycles return to normal pretty quickly, as I don't want to wait too long to ttc!

@butterfly5291So my other messages didn‘t come through but anyway I just wanted to tell you to try to keep your hope up for the gynaecological appointment. It seems to be quite often that a second opinion is of help when it comes to coil removal and even without any strings a surgery is seldom..(repeating what my gyn said) wish you all the best :)!
