12dpo - can you see this squinter?

I’ve had symptoms for about a week. Usual sore boobs, cramps and twinges, feeling nauseous and headaches and a slightly stuffy nose at night. I took a FRER yesterday and was a bfn. Just took an internet cheapie and I think I can see the faintest line ever, more of a shadow! I will take another tomorrow with FMU.

I’m not due on til Monday 22nd.

What do you think?

It wasnt a one step test it was a freedom one, I took one again this morning and there was another line, which led me to take this FRER at 4am this morning 🤞

@Spinksy9 Not to dash your hopes but just warning you, I had a couple that looked very much like that (and pink in colour) and yet my 2 FRER’s have been undeniably BFN. Of course, there is no reason why yours will be too and there is every chance this could be your BFP, but definitely stay on the side of caution for now. I think the OneStep company have sent out a very large batch of dodgy tests. Please do update when you do the FRER and good luck!

I have ordered from FRER however just remembered I got one at home. May just chill this weekend and see what happens when I test Monday

Is this a postive? Driving myself crazy! 7 months of using these and I've never had to double check. every single one has been a definate negative. This has colour to it but dont know if I'm seeing things.
I think it's a positive but I would grab a FRER to confirm 🤞

Hi Girls, yes AF got me at 15dpo on Tuesday. I feel the same, those cheapies really are cruel! Butttt if AF hasn’t arrived yet don’t lose all hope just yet! I don’t know why I do it to myself testing before I’m due! So much unnecessary upset! Hopefully a lesson learned for me! Fingers crossed for you both!

@chrissagcat CD27. 13D post the only time we had sex this cycle. Looking back at my huge stash of IC cheap photos and they are all so confusing. Some stark negatives,
some obvious lines but grey, and the odd barely visible pink one. Have felt sick all day today though, and I never usually feel sick. So hoping against hope.

@Tanline20 Bumping this thread just to say that it seems I’ve been burned by these internet cheapies as well. BFN on FRER today. How can an inanimate little strip be so cruel?

I had BFN on 2 other brands today too.
Cramping loads. Gutted because I had what looked like 2 BFP yesterday on one step.
Fingers crossed we don't see AF x

@tanline20 I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m really frustrated with these daft tests on your behalf as well as mine. I can totally see a line on that picture you just posted and had you not posted about the subsequent BFN that probably would have gotten my hopes up for you. I can’t see any hint of a line on my latest one but I’m trying to keep up hope for now.

I do think the tests are stupidly designed and probably a bit crap. What’s the point in having that flat bit of plastic going onto the test strip? imgur.com/McTUAYu
In this photo I had to point out with an emoji where I thought the line was because I could easily see how people could mistake the plastic bit for the line. Argh.

Looks positive to me too flyrobin! Fingers crossed! They look pinker than mine too which is a good sign!
I have had a strange metallic taste in my mouth all day and lots of saliva and remembered feeling like this when first finding out with DS.
I took another cheapie this afternoon and it looked darker than this morning, see pic. Actually started to believe I could be pg and sent DP our for a CB Digitial (I got my bfp with one way earlier than 14dpo with DS). Took it and it’s ‘not pregnant’. So quite gutted atm and just waiting for AF to arrive now. Won’t be buying the one step brand again because I’ve had three that all look like they could be potential positives! Body and mind all playing tricks too Sad

@FlyRobinFly ah yes I see what you mean now. Would the line not be right beside that bit anyway?

I'm 3 days before my period and have sore boobs but I'm also cramping..could this only mean the period is coming? Or could it still be pregnancy? It's my TTC#3 so you'd think I'd have an idea but no!

Here it is in another lighting. The plastic bit (where it says MAX) annoys me as it flattens out and goes onto the test strip and people have mistaken the end of it for a line in photos. Silly design choice, IMO.

@tanline20 I took another IC today and it’s stark white. Not even something that shows up in a picture unlike my last 2. It’s daft though because the last one did show a pink tinge in the HCG line so lord knows what’s going on. I’m personally not counting myself out yet as we only BD’d on the 12th (and I believe I ovulated a bit after that) and I do believe I felt implantation a few days ago (cramps were too late for OV and too early for AF and were unlike either) but I do think I’ll wait until AF is due to get a digital and just use the IC’s up in the meantime.

I wouldn’t get this particular ‘brand’ again, they seem very dodgy.

Can't see anything pink on that one I'm afraid. Be careful with a digital test as these need a lot higher levels of the pregnancy hormone than a FRER to show a positive so I would try and grab a FRER to test again if I was you.

So, still no AF as yet and I couldn’t resist. Did another cheapie (I’ve got a problem!) and again another squinter but now I’m convinced it’s an evap. Doesn’t seem to be darker than the last one, and looks grey? If still no AF tomorrow going to do a CB digital in the hopes of something definitive!

flyrobin I’m still not convinced. From tomorrow onwards will be the telltale for me! I have so many symptoms but feel like I’m going mad!

They do look very similar my first one and yours don’t they. Fingers crossed we both get a darker line soon! The uncertainty is horrible!

You’re internet cheapies show definite progression so your HCG has been rising, so yes I’d consider them positive. I’m not keen on FRERs myself as the lines are so thin but that’s just me. I’m definitely hopeful for you.

Your original cheapie photo that you started the thread with reminds me very much of the one I posted. Plenty of people are convinced it’s not there but some can see it. I don’t know when I ovulated but I’m definitely at least 2 days behind you.

chrissagcat yes apparently it can be a symptom! Something to with hormones making blood vessels swell and therefore your nosy feeling a bit blocked! Could be purely coiincedental though!

maybe I think I can see it! Take another in a few days?
