Quick question, when do I start counting DPO? I had my static smiley weds morning. Does it start from then or today?

Dogscanlookup · 06/08/2020 20:34

@Tofu35 that’s amazing news! One step closer to a BFP!
@Daffodil21 and yaaay flashing smiley! Fingers crossed so tight for a static. The afternoon OPKS were hard but I felt really good for doing them as when I got my static I knew it must’ve been recent!

Just started in my office today so been busy which has helped me take my mind off things. Hope this ends up being a good month for us all in one way or another!

Tofu35 · 06/08/2020 16:07

Test results all fine, ovulated this month so they aren't worried about that. They say I should go back again in 6 weeks as one of my levels is slightly elevated ('but still ok, just a little high'). Apart from that, I don't know what's next. DH has his semen analysis soon, and then if that's okay- maybe use the money saved on going on zero holidays to book a private consultation with a gyno for more checks?

Relieved!

Bam27 · 06/08/2020 15:52

@Daffodil21 nothing too exciting just presents for my nephew, it's his birthday soon😊 so I've been ordering dinosaurs 😂.. Yeah I know I just feel bad sometimes because I know others try for much longer.

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2020 15:29

@Bam27 oooh what did you order from amazon?

Never apologise for complaining! Its shit for all of us ❤️

OP posts:
Bam27 · 06/08/2020 14:59

@acaciabluebell yes it is hard, much worse than I thought it would be!
Sorry your not feeling well, hope you feel better soon 💐
@Tofu35 Thanks, good luck with your blood test results 🌹
@Daffodil21 this will be the 10th month of no contraception and 8th of actually "trying". Thanks for the advice, I will look into that! Literally just ordered some stuff on amazon before I saw this 🙄🤣 sorry for complaining I know it's been much longer for you! Hopefully not much longer for both of us!

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2020 14:42

Hi @Bam27 sorry you're feeling like this. Am I right in saying it's been 8 months or so for you? (Sorry if I'm mis-remembering!) if it has then I really would recommend reading 'it starts with the egg'. It's really helping me to not see it month to month, but to look to improving my eggs now for in 4 months time. As a result I'm not pinning all my hopes on this month as I know the things I am now doing to improve egg quality won't take affect until 3-4 months time. It might also be a good read for you if you do decide to take a little break, as there's plenty of things you can do now to improve the egg quality later.

Hope your results go ok @Tofu35 - let us know how they go!

@SVC11 how are you getting on??

I said I wouldn't do afternoon OKPs this month, and yet I here I am counting down the last hour of the 4 hour hold. Only on the first day of flashing too 🙈 I've got a feeling it may happen quicker because of how my reflexology went yesterday, but that's probably just me being foolishly hopeful as usual!!

OP posts:
SVC11 · 06/08/2020 13:50

Good luck @Tofu35 hope it's good news for you or at least you get some good info! @Daffodil21 yay come on static!

Tofu35 · 06/08/2020 13:08

@Daffodil21 woohoo! Excellent news, come on static smile, don't be shy!

Hey @Bam27, welcome back. Sorry you're feeling like this month won't be positive for you- but good you're giving yourself some space to help your mental health. Be kind to yourself, if you think you need some time off of the monitoring aspects of TTC, it's definitely something to consider.

I'm getting my blood tests results back later today, argh! Hope everything is okay, although even if it's not- it's good to know. But still...argh! Confused

acaciabluebell · 06/08/2020 09:55

Yay @Daffodil21 that's awesome!! Fingers crossed xxx

Welcome back @Bam27 I'm sorry that you're feeling negative ☹️ I've felt a bit similar recently, it's so hard isn't it. Fingers crossed this is our month xx

7 or 8dpo today. My UTI is gone thankfully but I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, got earache, sinus pain, body aches and cramps. Bleurgh!

Bam27 · 06/08/2020 08:36

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while. Felt like I needed a break from thinking about only ttc and nothing else. AF been and gone and just took my first opk of this month today. I'm really not feeling very hopeful for some reason, just been feeling like it's never going to happen for me. Wondering whether I should take a break from ttc all together.
@Daffodil21 That's good, hopefully you ovulate earlier this month and don't have such a long cycle!

Daffodil21 · 06/08/2020 07:24

So after my reflexology last night, I got a flashing smiley face this morning!!! Of course I don't know how long I'll have the flashing face for but it's definitely earlier than usual, which is good with my long cycles!!!

I didn't oblate until CD37 last month, which is abnormally late for me, so I was worried that would happen again! Let's hope flashing turns into static!

OP posts:
SVC11 · 05/08/2020 15:47

@acaciabluebell you're still really early so don't panic. And mine is such a faint line I'm not sure it even really counts yet haha. Am gonna try hold out til 12dpo (sat) and see what it says then. You never know it could be your month! X

acaciabluebell · 05/08/2020 15:41

@SVC11 omg! Keep us posted!!!

So, I think I'm 6 or 7dpo today. Absolutely no symptoms so far.

I was looking through my period tracker app recently and I realised if I add up the months where DH and I had unprotected sex around ovulation, this is technically our 4th month 😐😳 I feel like this changes things and I'm more anxious now as I feel like this month is another failure

Dogscanlookup · 05/08/2020 14:26

@Daffodil21 yeah it’s different when they known it matters I guess!

@SVC11 ah ok! I feel like I’ve never seen these... I feel so new to all this 😂

SVC11 · 05/08/2020 13:59

@Dogscanlookup hey yeah it's an hcg strip not an lh strip so detects the pregnancy hormone. Just looks similar to an opk 😊

Daffodil21 · 05/08/2020 13:54

@Dogscanlookup ovulation tests can apparently pick up pregnancy, but by the time they could do so the HGC levels are high enough for a positive pregnancy test (I did lots of research on this last month when I got a smiley on Cd37!). But I think @SVC11 is using a pregnancy strip test, not an OPK?

He's actually pretty good with the frequency, especially as I don't ovulate until around CD21 normally, so that's a lot of dtd before the FW even starts! But as soon as he knew it was the crucial time, it definitely had an affect!

It's sweet your DH is doing lots of research @Tofu35 but I can imagine that does increase the pressure on himself!

Who knows, maybe our DPs are on here 😂

OP posts:
Dogscanlookup · 05/08/2020 11:54

@SC1989 so can OPKs detect pregnancy or am I reading this wrong??
@Daffodil21 I think as it’s our second month DP is just excited by it all! I can imagine it gets as wearing for them as it does for us after a while. Not a nice dream! It can sometimes feel like everyone else is popping babies out left right and centre, but after seeing all these forums it’s clearly not the case so you’re not alone!
@Tofu35 it’s sweet your DH cares so much. It must be hard for men, as woman have a lot more places like this to chat, I’m guessing it’s not as available for men and the pressure for them to perform every time must be hard.

Tofu35 · 05/08/2020 10:24

@SVC11 ooh! Let's hope the line keeps getting stronger :D

@Dogscanlookup woohoo the static smiley!

@Daffodil21 hah! I had a dream last night I was escaping from Gilead in full handmaid's tale outfit!

Also, my DH puts a lot of pressure on himself by reading articles online about absolutely everything and then checking the ovulation tests and asking to see the temp graphs- as the months go on, he looks more stressed about the whole thing. But then he doesn't have a place like this thread to see other people are going through similar things!

Daffodil21 · 05/08/2020 09:28

@Dogscanlookup yay!!! Sounds like you have timed it perfectly. I'm never telling my DH about the smileys ever again, not after last month where it just put too much pressure on him 😂 he knows I'm doing the OPKs but I don't plan on telling him when /if it changes to a smiley! Hopefully yours will be ok though!

I didn't even dream I had a baby... I dreamt I was in a real life support group and every one else was having babies but me!

@SVC11ahhhh!!! Keep us posted!!

This is bad because next time I’m gonna be checking them like crazy!

TTC Thread #2
Dogscanlookup · 05/08/2020 09:03

Also I’ve been trying to ignore the lines as they say to on the stick when you eject... I’ve looked at it this morning and the first line is stronger than I’ve ever seen it, so they obviously do mean something?!

Dogscanlookup · 05/08/2020 09:02

Morning ladies!
@Daffodil21 thank you so much, god that must’ve been horrible for you 🙁 it’s good your DH sorted it for you! Let me know when you can ☺️ I totally understand the naps, it’s probably all this stress!
And this morning I got a static smiley!!! 😍 we DTD last night and with the babydance lube so hopefully we’ve already kick started! Just text him now to tell him to have an early day 😅
Aw no the dreams are the worst. One day your dreams of a baby will be reality, it’s just a horrible long wait! X

Daffodil21 · 05/08/2020 08:26

How did you get on this morning @Dogscanlookup ?

Sorry I forgot to ask DH about ads but I wi tonight. I was so tired last night, even had a little sofa nap at 7pm - good job it's not after my FW or I would have thought that was symptom 😂

Had another baby dream last night - literally no break from this
