@ALew15 yes, you're right. No OPKs next month! Even when/if I get a smiley then it'll just leas to the TWW stress. I think I'll just do what I've done before, take my longest cycle (43 days) and only test if AF hasn't arrived by the 43rd day. As you say, if dtd every other day then doesn't matter really. Are your cycles regular? Sorry you must have said but it's hard to keep track of all the details, I remember that they are quite short though?

@Tofu35 I wouldn't like to bore anyone haha. It's a complete house renovation though. No construction work thankfully, just decoration throughout and a replacement kitchen. No room is fully finished yet, but it's getting there. We've been here since mid January so I feel like we've done a pretty good amount, especially while we've been wfh in new jobs (although not so new now!). Do you dtd throughout your cycle or planned around your FW?

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 24/06/2020 11:35

@Daffodil21home renovations! I hope you have been putting some before and after photos up of all your good work Smile
Day 17 of cycle, the app predicted I'd ovulate day 20, so I'm not too far out (although no ewcm). I'll take this as the fertile window, but with a pinch of scepticism!

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 11:22

@hampshirerose34 that sounds familiar, my DH loves golf. Poor thing cancelled his membership last year as we were saving for our wedding so he was going to pick it up this year.

@Daffodil21 I think as long as you are DTD as often as u can then what else can you do. We should make a pact of no OPKs next month and see how it affects our moods.

Daffodil21 · 24/06/2020 11:14

Thanks @Tofu35, and welcome! Yeah, very annoying isn't it! Been TTC for 19 months now and I am sick of it!!! I only do the evening ones on the days between dtd as no point if we're going to dtd anyway, but today is an evening OPK day 😒 it makes me unreasonably annoyed when I get that blank O!!

I don't think COVID stress would have played a part for me.. DH has been going into work as usual (agricultural) and I've been wfh so it hasn't really affected us too much.. we've found the extra time at home actually quite good because it has meant we can get on with home renovations. Maybe I'm stressing too much about not being pregnant..! I also ditched the pregnecare mid cycle last month, which I think made AF arrive sooner than expected. Maybe that's making the difference now? I wouldn't have thought it would make it longer though. Where are you in your cycle?

hampshirerose34 · 24/06/2020 11:09

It's roasting already down here (Portsmouth) I am sweating got the hot tub ready for DH he has buggered out to golf left me here working from home ! I still have all the symptoms if my hormones are getting me at it I am gonna be pissed ! Hope you are all ok today.

Tofu35 · 24/06/2020 11:07

Thanks @Dreaming101, first time I've had rapid onset ov, but I have just started the vitamins so it's maybe knocked things around.

@Daffodil21 my cycle varies enormously, from 31-39, earlier this year I had 55, although that was during the first few months of covid so stress definitely played a massive part there. Sympathies with unpredictable cycles. Hope you get your tea soon!

Daffodil21 · 24/06/2020 10:57

@ALew15 I'm CD22... whilst it's not impossible for me to ovulate this late, it is getting past the 'normal' time for me... I really really hope I'm going to ovulate this month. Been dtd every other day except a minor blip just after my period where we didn't for 3 days, although I can't see that being a problem seeing as I still haven't ovulated (I was using OPKs right from when AF stopped).

I also told myself I wasn't going to use OPKs anymore, but if my cycle is going to continue to fuck me around then I think I will. I had a 32 day cycle last month and this one will now be at least 39 days, and that's if I get a smiley tomorrow. Getting really fed up tbh. As if it isn't difficult enough already, my cycle has to fuck me over. I thought it had started to settle at a steady 34-36 day cycle but obviously not!! Definitely going back to the CB blue tests next month though, this month I bought the pink as with SMEP I was just looking out for the static, but then I read that you need to test twice a day if using those ones, and I'm like a 5 YO when it comes to peeing so a 4 hour hold is tough! Then it just makes me even more annoyed when I've held off the tea all afternoon alto just get an O again

Sorry for long rant!!!!!

@ALew15 the weather here is glorious isn’t it, not something we are use to in South Wales!
Think we are going to have drinks with our neighbours this evening on our driveways!
(hubby can drink for me).
I would log today as your ovulation day😊
Welcome @Tofu35 , you may have rapid onset ovulation where your levels don’t gradually increase but they shoot up! It’s quite common.

@acaciabluebell you may well ovulate later than you/the apps think. Before my weirdly long cycle kicked in I ovulated at day 21 if my OPK’s were correct but the app said the standard day 14 xx

acaciabluebell · 24/06/2020 10:54

@acaciabluebell

CD13 today, apps are saying I should ovulate tomorrow but I have zero symptoms and my OPKs are extremely low ....is it safe to assume I will ovulate later in my cycle? I started a new diet this month I'm hoping that will be the cause 😭
I tried using Premom and this is what I'm getting so far

Tofu35 · 24/06/2020 10:46

Hey! been lurking on the forum for a few months but thought while the thread is new I should start posting. 35, TTC for 7 months, as the months go on I'm adding more things to my routine (temping, tracking, preconception multivitamins, digital opk). Although today the clearblue opk went from low (yesterday) to static smile (no flashing days), so that's a new mystery. Hmm

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 10:44

@Daffodil21 that's what I read too. I've put down today as my ovulation day and yesterday as the peak opk.
What CD are you now? After obsessing this month I've told myself that I won't use them next month if we aren't successful this cycle.

I'm not a massive drinker but I do like a glass of fruity cider or pink moscato when the sun is out so think we might crack some open tonight (probably change my mind later and have a lemonade 😂)

Yay @Th197 that's brilliant! Hanky panky time 😂

Daffodil21 · 24/06/2020 10:31

@ALew15 the clear blue website says you should ovulate between 24-36 hours after you get a static smiley. I would say that probably means a couple of drinks is ok..?

Not so lucky here with the weather in scotland, although we will be catching up with some friends (socially distanced of course!) and also will be trying not to drive myself insane at no smiley face yet...

Your bbq sounds lovely! And a good way to keep you distracted

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 10:12

What is everyone doing for the next couple of days? The weather is Wales is gorgeous. I've just put our wedding bunting up in the garden and filling up our new pool ready for my two step sons to come over later. Think we might have a cheeky bbq tonight. No drinking for me as I think I'm 1dpo. Here's to a long two weeks!

ALew15 · 24/06/2020 10:10

So after my static smiley on CB about 630pm last night, on my app (Ovia) do I log yesterday as my ovulation day or today?

Th197 · 24/06/2020 10:09

@Alew15 I also got my static smiley today!! CD27!!

hampshirerose34 · 24/06/2020 07:50

@nervousnoob that's exactly what i have been getting , I was naughty and gave in have to wait until Saturday now . Hold on Smilex

nervousnoob · 23/06/2020 23:32

Congrats to all graduates!! I'm getting a mild cramping and itchy hives at 7DPO. No other symptoms 😭Please calm me down so that I don't keep imagining in my 1WW🥺

Th197 · 23/06/2020 21:23

@alew15 thank you! And oh my!! That's brilliant ❤️❤️

ALew15 · 23/06/2020 19:14

Just got my static smiley! Woopie! Haven't told DH as he would rather not know! Hope he wants to get on it tonight now. It ties in with our 'every other day' that we have been doing.

ALew15 · 23/06/2020 15:36

@Th197 fingers crossed you won't need them and AF won't turn up! Xx

Th197 · 23/06/2020 14:45

@Alew15 yeah, feel like I'm wasting them ATM as I've probably missed ovulation and I'll get a blank circle in a few days😭 hopefully be able to work them a bit more next month

Dreaming101 · 23/06/2020 14:44

@hampshirerose34 Oo that all sounds positive! Keep us posted, fingers crossed for a BFP!!xxx
