@acaciabluebell this sounds positive, when are you able to test?
@JTB123 I second what @Daffodil21 says, I wait for about 10 mins and then pop to the loo. Never go to sleep without having been.

@Daffodil21 you have that glass of wine, sounds like you’ve earned it and wouldn’t expect it to do any harm. We need these little things to keep us sane 😄

JTB123 · 10/07/2020 18:19

@Daffodil21 think I'm going to have to start waiting 10 mins and then going for a wee, surely that gives any little swimmers a chance! Fingers crossed for a BFP soon so I can go back to weeing straight away 🤣

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 17:44

@acaciabluebell what @honeysun101 said. The reason I tested was because I couldn't stop peeing so fingers crossed for you! How many dpo are you again?

@JTB123 oh no that sounds horrible! I go to the loo about ten mins after dtd every single time without fail. I've only ever had a UTI once, and it was because I didn't go to the loo afterwards - that was enough to make me never neglect it 😂 plus I pee like a fountain anyway, so it just potentially saves a trip in the night 😂

@Rm20 you are so right. Going to fuck it and have a glass of wine tonight as been a pretty stressful week! Ovulating either today or tomorrow though so I feel that's ok

@acaciabluebell sounds positive for you!! ❤️ unfortunately I have the burning so mine definitely isn't pregnancy bladder 😩🤣

Question for you gals.. so the reason I have this UTI is because since TTC (this is our first month) I have been going straight to sleep after DTD instead of getting up straight away and going for a wee like I've always done to prevent UTIs. 😩 any advice? Do you girls get up straight away and wee? Do you wait?

honeysun101 · 10/07/2020 17:20

@acaciablue not to get any hopes up but excessive peeing was one of my first symptoms when I was pregnant with my first. I was shocked at how early it started. Fingers crossed for you!!

acaciabluebell · 10/07/2020 17:02

What a coincidence @JTB123 I was literally about come online and mention that I can't stop peeing today! Lol I've gone to the toilet every hour since this morning and I haven't been drinking any more than usual (in fact I feel quite thirsty). If I'm not pg then honestly feel like my body is playing tricks on me because I never experience these symptoms normally. I think UTIs have similar symptoms but I'm not experiencing any burning/pain etc, just peeing every 30 mins. Hope you feel better soon btw!! McDonalds sounds yum!

Rm20 · 10/07/2020 16:58

@JTB123 oh, that does sound painful 😖 I do hope it passes soon and you can get back to normal. Never a delight UTIs!!

Here’s hoping the McDonalds is a little pick me up ☺️

JTB123 · 10/07/2020 15:52

CD21 for me, no symptoms and I've not tested in days!
I've been up since 1am with a UTI that came on super suddenly... 😩 trying to avoid antibiotics so I literally sat on the loo drinking water and weeing (TMI soz) for hours and feel super flushed out, so I'm so relieved!

If I still have symptoms tomorrow I will call my GP but normally I can shake them off within a day or so by doing it this way!

DH has promised he'll fetch me a mcdonalds later so I'm just living for that now 😂

Rm20 · 10/07/2020 14:53

@Daffodil21 thank you very much for all the Vitamin C tips! I like all these things so I’ll be sure to work them into my diet fully. I know this month my luteal stage was short but unsure if this is a regular thing or not. I’ll do more OPKs this month. I had a little bleed yesterday but very little since so still waiting for AF to fully arrive.

@EasterBunny7
dont be too hard on yourself, I’d have done the same but I recommend the early detection ones and if not then contact your GP.

I think we all need to remember not to be too hard on ourselves though. It’s so tough and so disappointing but we will get there, all in our own time! ☺️Xx

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 12:56

@EasterBunny7 I feel like I could have written your post too! TTC has 100% affected my work. I get so distracted then have to keep making the hours up. So essentially I spend all day and half the evening at my computer having not done a proper days work. I actually applied to the job I have now while I was pregnant for the second time. It was my back up and unfortunately l needed it! I had a phone interview (we moved 600 miles) 2 days after the second loss and thankfully I managed to keep my shit together and get the job!! My heart isn't wholly in it though because I'm hoping it's just a stop gap for the time being.

Sorry to hear IVF has been delayed, but so glad they are offering this to you (as they should). We had a referral to a fertility clinic just before lockdown and had a video consult a little while ago. They won't offer us IVF until it's been 2 years since a pregnancy. I may have lost my call a little bit when the consultant said that (politely, of course!) so the earliest we will be offered it is September next year. If I hadn't got pregnant before then we would be offered it now. I do however have a scan booked for this Friday which I am pleased about. I've been wanting that for a year.

I have no idea if we'll be accepted for adoption. We have a good set up in terms of house etc, but we did move 600 miles away from family (not because we don't get on). I have little experience with children but I've got my first training session for a volunteer role working with children on Monday, which should help!

It is definitely a comfort to know there is someone who's been in it for the long haul (but sorry you are).
Fingers crossed for us both, and us all xx

@Daffodil21

I feel like I'm reading something I wrote myself, reading your comment. Not that I wish this on you, but it is somewhat of a support to hear that someone else is going through what I am.

I definitely have more of an appreciation for the gift of a child, I don't think I would have understood it this well had I got pregnant immediately.

I am really sorry for your losses Sad, you have had it tougher than me, I do not know how I would have dealt with getting a BFP and then have it taken away from you. I sincerely wish things turn around for you and a healthy baby is in your future!

ttc has consumed me and it has affected other aspects of my life - mainly work. I am so absorbed with symptoms, it's all I think about and research online. A few times, I got my period at work and I told myself it's all ok, but it just completely deflated me and I was useless for the rest of the day. I was also acutely aware of not wanting colleagues to pick up on my devastation.

I can also completely relate to that feeling or thinking that I will never get pregnant. As much as I hope every month, my overriding feeling is "nah! no chance it'll be me!"

Really glad to hear that there is a ray of hope for you in terms of adoption. You asked about me and tests: yes, I've been tested and they found PCOS. However, with the lockdown, I am now having to wait 6 months for IVF, and despite having waited 20 months, I can't help but count that this will take me to 2.5 years Sad Sad....was IVF a route made available to you?

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 11:48

@EasterBunny7 I know, it's strange isn't it. I just feel like this is how life is atm - just a constant cycle of AF, followed by dtd, then promising myself not to get obsessive or test earlier, then the dreaded TWW, then getting super obsessed and testing early. Then getting my hopes up, and then AF arrives. And then all again the next month. I sort of don't ever feel there'll ever be an end to this! Then I have times of 'let's just stop trying altogether' which lasts all of about half a day. We are looking into adoption but can't apply until next year (we relocated to Scotland in Jan), so in the meantime it's back to the cycle! I had 2 MCs so a bfp terrifies me tbh, so counting the weeks of pregnancy wouldnt even be a joy. It'll be a countdown to see if we manage to get past the point of last time.

I hope you get your BFP soon too! Have you had any tests? Xx

Thanks so much all. Yes been reading today about vit c and I have o ly just come off the pill (2months) but I'm glad I'm aware of the potential issues early and how to go about trying to help it. Time will tell... Otherwise off to the doctors for a check up I suppose. Saying that cramps totally stopped now and no sign of af yet...

EasterBunny7 · 10/07/2020 11:08

@Dreaming101 and @Rm20 and @Daffodil21

I couldn't help myself and did another test this morning and it was negative Sad. It was an internet cheapie though. I still plan to do another one tomorrow and thinking of using a Clearblue (Early Detection) test.

At this point, I think it may be wishful thinking on my part.

@Daffodil21 I really hope that you will no longer be ttc and instead counting down pregnancy weeks Star . Sometimes, I can't believe I've managed to keep trying for (coming up to) 2 years now. Weirdly, despite being so hyper-aware of each month and certain days dragging (like the tww!) time really has flown.

SaraVB · 10/07/2020 10:58

Thanks @Rm20 @Daffodil21

According to one of my apps AF is due today (no sign yet although feeling bloated and sore as usual). Usually turns up sometime around later afternoon - evening. Trying to mentally prepare myself not to get too disappointed and upset.

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 10:49

Not that it's doing any good...! But just thought I'd share to save you some time!

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 10:46

@Rm20 @SVC11 @SaraVB

I did lots of research on vitamin content in food lately - peppers (yellow, followed by red) are very high in vit c, higher than any fruit I've found. Strawberries, kiwi fruit and mango seem to be the highest fruits. I've been having strawberries with my breakfast and a mango (frozen) and kiwi smoothie every day. I chuck a couple of other things that are meant to be good in it too (Maca powder 🤢 and a powder containing coq10 and selenium)

Frozen peas and broccoli are good too

Rm20 · 10/07/2020 10:40

@EasterBunny7 I agree with @Daffodil21 and think it’s best to consult a doctor too.

@SVC11 @SaraVB I also read up on the luteal phase yesterday too and it seems increasing Vitamin C in take can also help. Either tablet form or food! It seem like it is a successful way to increase it xx

SVC11 · 10/07/2020 09:33

Yeah I don't really feel stressed... Or I didn't before haha but maybe it's just always underlying...

SaraVB · 10/07/2020 09:17

@SVC11 .. Also feeling the same. I was also a little worried about my luteal phase so I did some googling a while ago and ironically it can be caused by stress 😂 (aside from other conditions).

SVC11 · 10/07/2020 08:34

Blergh... Got af symptoms today... No bleeding yet but maybe tomorrow. Which would give me another 9 day luteal phase.... Erghhh any ways I can increase the length of the phase? Sad times

Daffodil21 · 10/07/2020 07:55

@EasterBunny7 I would contact your doc too. I'm afraid I know nothing about chlomide, but wanted to say hello as a fellow 20 monther 👋

@Dreaming101 there we go, progress already. These are things I begin to tracker. That way I can easily recall of something happened before or have the tracker to see my pattern.

@EasterBunny7 I think waiting until Sunday is a good idea but to be safe I’d get the early detection tests.let us know how you get on x

Dreaming101 · 09/07/2020 23:54

@EasterBunny7 let us know how you get on!xxx

EasterBunny7 · 09/07/2020 23:46

@dreaming101 and @rm20

Thanks both. I understand that hcg doubles every two days so I think I'll wait till Saturday for another test.
