Does anyone take Evening Primrose Oil - if so how much mg should I get? Looking on Amazon I can see 1000mg - 1300mg?

Just read online that it's important to stop taking EPO after ovulation as it can affect implantation. So I may need to continue using OPKs after all

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2020 14:00

@Bam27 I went it a little naive to be honest! I've had two before, but they were when I was pregnant so I suppose they didn't need to have such a 'rummage' !! It was all fine though and definitely a relief. Just the blood results to come through and that's the last of the investigations.

Good to know about your friend - I'm so glad she ended up having a healthy baby.

I do exactly the same too 😂 I have no idea why. I'm 7dpo so a little behind you - so far I haven't done any googling and have sort of managed to have brief moments of not thinking about it, as I've got a couple of distractions. I suppose time will tell, but fingers crossed for you as always x

@Daffodil21 that all sounds quite reassuring, glad the appointment went well! Really hope you get some answers. A friend of mine had 3 mc in a row, then got a referral but didn't end up needing it as she fell pregnant again, which resulted in a healthy baby.
Arggh the dreaded transvaginal ultrasound! I hate having those done!
As for me I'm just trying to resist the urge to Google pregnancy symptoms 10 days po. I don't know why as I already know all of the symptoms anyway.

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2020 12:59

@acaciabluebell currently CD45... expecting AF to arrive in a week or so. I really hope I don't have more cycles that are this length.

Was planning on just dtd every other day and not doing OPKs too, but will have to then next month to try and time the progesterone blood re-test

@Milliemoo222 it's nice having a few days off thinking about ttc isn't it? Enjoy your break, sounds like it will lovely!!!

I'm thinking to just dtd every other day this month. Last cycle felt a little bit too regimented for my liking. DH and I normally dtd very regularly anyway so every other day won't be too hard for us (hopefully!)

acaciabluebell · 17/07/2020 12:33

@Daffodil21 Glad to hear that the appointment went well! Hopefully they will be able to give you some answers at your next appointment. Where are you in your cycle now?

@SVC11 I'm thinking to not use OPKs this month until I see some signs of ovulation (cramping, ewcm etc). I found it really disheartening last time having 13-14 straight days of stark negative OPKs because I ovulated way later than I expected (CD20 rather than CD13). So I really have no idea when I will ovulate this month.

Milliemoo222 · 17/07/2020 12:31

Hi :) @acaciabluebell
Had a few days off thinking about it all, plus work was crazy busy! I am due for AF in 11 days... so just trying to stay calm and not think too much! Not positive this month is the one to be fair, but we are going for a small break away next month with a hot tub so will be able to use that at least!
Are you planning on using OPKs this cycle or every other day dtd?

SVC11 · 17/07/2020 12:13

@acaciabluebell exactly the same for me... Started opking in case I miss something earlier than usual. Not expecting to ovulate until cd14/15 then the dreaded 9/10 lp to come after that haha. Hoping that it increases in length again 3rd cycle off the pill. X

Daffodil21 · 17/07/2020 11:16

So I just had my appointment at the fertility clinic - egg reserve, linings , womb/shape etc is all fine, and I don't have PCOS which is good to know. They took bloods to check progesterone levels but said they would do another next cycle because this is an abnormal cycle for me (yay, more OPKs next month 😒) and did 3 other blood tests for things which could explain recurrent MC.

She certainly had a good rummage in there with the probe, and I didn't bring a sanitary pad!! 😱

How is everyone else doing??

How's everyone doing? Im on CD5, about to get started again with cycle #3 😊

acaciabluebell · 16/07/2020 20:10

Congrats and good luck @JTB123!!! I know the feeling - planned a wedding in 3 months while in my final year of uni - manic!!

CharWils · 16/07/2020 20:02

@acaciabluebell Thankyou! It's a strange time isn't it, I feel like my whole focus has shifted overnight!

SaraVB · 16/07/2020 17:25

Congratulations @JTB123 ! That sounds really stressful but so exciting! Good that you can go ahead with it and take your mind off things!

JTB123 · 16/07/2020 16:35

I've almost forgotten about TTC the last few days, we've decided to go ahead with with our wedding in September after postponing from May and then to 2021, we really want to do it now so September 2020 it is!!!

TTC and planning a wedding in 10 weeks, kill me now

honeysun101 · 16/07/2020 09:23

@Thissucks1 welcome!

I am TTC #2, but can't offer much advice as I didn't have a c section. If you're worried about your scar I would ask your doctor if you haven't already, and in regards to a pocket of fluid I would perhaps ask if you could be referred for a scan? If doctors won't give you a scan, it could be worth going for a private scan for some peace of mind? No idea if this is good advice but I think that's where I'd start. Good luck! How old is your first? 😊

acaciabluebell · 16/07/2020 09:09

@CharWils Welcome to the group 😊 I'm new to TTC, DH and I stopped using contraception (non hormonal) about 2 months ago. Last month is when we started "trying" properly and it's been stressful!

I know it's super early for me (only 2 months) but the reason I've been a bit worried is because even when we used contraception, we weren't very diligent with it (we used the pull out method) and had lots and lots of 'accidents', many of which were around my ovulation date according to my apps, but nothing has ever happened...

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 21:20

@Thissucks1 oh gosh I'm sorry, I didn't mean you shouldn't be here. My wording wasn't very good!

I just meant you might get answers to your c section question if you started another thread, but have this one for your TTC support. You might get answers on a specific thread but not so much TTC support as people who know might not be TTC now.

Sorry I really didn't mean to make you feel unwelcome at all. Is DC1 a boy or a girl?

Ok sorry ladies. I didn't realise this was baby no1 thread.

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 21:11

@Bam27 yep, all too familiar with this feeling!

@Thissucks1 I'm sorry I don't know anything about c sections either. All but one of us on here are TTC baby no 1. Please join us for support in TTC, but you might get more answers if you started a thread?

Bam27 · 15/07/2020 21:07

Hi @Thissucks1 I'm sorry I don't know anything about c sections and fertility 🤔 but I'm sorry your feeling like this and I hope you get some answers.

Bam27 · 15/07/2020 21:01

@Daffodil21 I'm gonna try and hold off at least u til AF is due. Arggh I just don't want the disappointment again! Part of me cant wait to test and the other half is terrified. I'm sure you know that feeling 😕

Thissucks1 · 15/07/2020 20:58

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if this is the place to be but I couldn't find a thread which seemed "appropriate". We've been trying to conceive baby no2 for the last 3 years, 4 months (not that I'm counting) but sadly no luck, not a sniff. Been to drs and they said they'd refer me to fertility but my iron levels needs to be level, I've always been low iron but I took iron tabs and ensured I ate iron rich foods for months to go back and be told it still wasnt enough so I'm not getting referred any time soon Confused.
With baby no1 I had a c-section, here we are almost 6 years down the line and I've just discovered that theres a strong possibility that I shouldn't still have niggling feelings at my scar and inside? I should also not still have a numb stomach just under my belly button? Has anyone had a similar feeling, and if so, is it normal?
I read an article about how a little pocket which can come from a section, can leave women infertile so I'm having a little freak out....send help!

Daffodil21 · 15/07/2020 20:51

Ah I'm the opposite - I usually have a stash of cheapies in the house! I've used them all
up now though and only have a CB digi left. Going to try and never test again until I think I'm late. Hoping this cycle length isn't going to be a normal one for me though as it's 2 weeks longer than 'usual' for me!
