Hi all had a couple weeks off but back in my 10 day wait now... I say 10 day as my lp is short. Not going to test early this month i swear! Been taking b bits so maybe the lp will increase a bit. How's everything, what did I miss, congrats on the bfps! X

Tofu35 · 25/07/2020 00:22

Haha glad it's not just me on the 'hide it all' clean up @acaciabluebell @Dogscanlookup. I think lockdown really relaxed the 'where things go' rules, no one comes over so the OPK goes next to the toilet, pregnacare goes next to the tv. Most functional and visible places!

I should really say to people but I think it might put some kind of pressure on me, having to update them or something. Although that's just my anxious brain, not actually what would happen in reality.

JTB123 · 24/07/2020 13:23

@Daffodil21 oh sure thank you for that I'll take note if that happens!

Xx

Daffodil21 · 24/07/2020 12:56

@JTB123 not at all!

Also just a word of warning on the digi tests if you order them online instead of a shop - they can apparently give false negatives and even false positives. I think it's something to do with getting damaged in transit - Amazon is full of reviews saying this so if it doesn't say pregnant don't panic!!!!

Congratulations!

JTB123 · 24/07/2020 12:36

@Daffodil21 hahaha I've got some coming this afternoon, so impatient!!!

@acaciabluebell thank you so much 💓

Hope you gals don't mind if I stick around.... I find the read fascinating and I can't wait to hear of more and more BFPs xxx

MDall · 24/07/2020 11:19

I couldn’t bare the questions! I also don’t want any additional pressure. I’m also a bit scared to tell the in-laws anyways as they’re not completely against it but feel we’re too young (we are both 28 - I’m a primary teacher and he has his own landscaping business). My mum has been wishing me to for about 5 years so I know mine will be fine.

Daffodil21 · 24/07/2020 11:10

@Dogscanlookup the gladiator thing is too funny and accurate! 😂😂😂

@acaciabluebell my (close) friends do know we're TTC, but I think they've given up asking 😂😂

OP posts:
acaciabluebell · 24/07/2020 10:54

@MDall I know how you feel. Two of my friends are pregnant and both literally got pregnant on the first try, both of them had PCOS as well. One of them, she decided with her husband to start TTC, that same day she peed on an ovulation stick and it was positive, so she did a pregnancy test and turns out she was already pregnant!

I haven't told a soul that we are TTC myself, I only speak about it on Mumsnet. I just don't want people asking me 'are you pregnant yet' and pressuring me, in case it takes long.

acaciabluebell · 24/07/2020 10:47

@Tofu35 omgosh I do the same, everytime someone is coming over I have to hide everything 😂 My folic acid supplements have a great big picture of a pregnant woman on them - anyone who saw that would think I was pg!!!!!

acaciabluebell · 24/07/2020 10:46

@JTB123 Congratulations!!!!! Amazing news!!!! 😁

MDall · 24/07/2020 10:26

Yeah I do really want to share with my mum but I feel like she can’t keep a secret at all, plus she struggled for years and I was one of the first 100 IVF babies in the UK. Feel it could bring up some bad memories for her and my dads recovering from life threatening things so don’t want to add any additional stress to the mix.

Dogscanlookup · 24/07/2020 10:23

@MDall also I said the same about everyone seeming to fall pregnant at the touch of a man’s hand... ha. But think about how many others are like you and I and hiding it. 😊

Dogscanlookup · 24/07/2020 10:22

Also AF is coming to and end... I feel like I’m about to run the Gladiator gauntlet 😂 I’ll start limbering up

Dogscanlookup · 24/07/2020 10:22

@MDall I’m so sorry you feel that way. Don’t start putting the blame on yourself, guilt is not a nice emotion and especially when it shouldn’t be present! I’m on here too because we’re also not telling anyone and it does feel very isolating at times, especially as I usually talk to my friends about everything! This thread has already helped me loads so welcome 😊

@JTB123 wow no wonder you’re even more shocked then! I’ve promised myself this month to just wait til my missed period and not try to manically symptom spot. Easier said than done 😂

@Tofu35 I literally said to DP just yesterday how already a baby is making our lives messy with all these sticks and tests and pills everywhere! I’m a bit of a neat freak too so it’s stressing me out haha

MDall · 24/07/2020 09:32

I needed this! Thank you for your kind words.

MDall · 24/07/2020 09:31

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Feels so nice to be amount people who get it x

Daffodil21 · 24/07/2020 08:24

@JTB123 treat yourself to a CB digital - that'll really make you sh*t yourself 😂

@Tofu35 we've got the in laws coming in a few weeks (around predicted O 🙈) so just do a sweep of the bathroom and remember to put the holder away! I usually just leave it on the window cill and throw the sticks away 😂 they do know we're TTC, but I'd rather them not see it all!

Hi @MDall and welcome. You are amongst people who totally get it, as @Aokbaby said there is no such thing as tmi here and no such thing as over sharing either!

JTB123 · 24/07/2020 08:15

I feel like it's real now it's positive on an IC!

Tofu35 · 23/07/2020 23:37

Having some people round to the house tomorrow (first since lockdown lifted) and realised I have to hide all the conception stuff that's around the house- goodbye vitamins, goodbye digital ovulation kits. Hello looking like a normal household where we aren't peeing on sticks every day this week 😂

JTB123 · 23/07/2020 22:43

@Dogscanlookup absolutely nothing!
No sore boobs, cramping, nausea, tiredness! Only thing I did have which I couldn't really see being related was BADDDD headaches.
Although since finding out today I have like a really dull belly ache, so maybe I just didn't realise! X

Aokbaby · 23/07/2020 21:42

@MDall hi Megan, don't beat yourself up too much, these are totally normal.feelings that I'm sure everyone on here has experienced, myself included. I'm 7months TTC now too and it does seem that everything is about pregnancy and everyone you know is pregnant. It's definitely hard to be happy for other people when so sad for yourself that it hasn't happened yet.
I try to keep positive in thinking that on average it takes a couple 12months to conceive so if we are both at 7 months we should hopefully be pregnant by Christmas, statistically anyway, fingers crossed 🤞🤞
I would get in touch with your GP re the UTI, mention that you are TTC also as there are certain antibiotics not suitable when ttc, think the best is nitrofurantoin, best to get it cleared up asap, they are HORRIBLE!!
these forums are the best place for advice and support as it's totally anonymous and you're nearly guaranteed that someone else has gone through the same, nothing is tmi here lol x

MDall · 23/07/2020 21:14

Hi all,

I'm 7 months in TTC, been with my partner for 10 years, first time for both of us. We bought our new home just over a year ago and the time seemed right.

Now we're 7 months in and no luck at all, i've got the vitamins, i've not smoked in 8 months, i've quit drinking, got all the accessories the monitors etc and not even a wiff.

Every advert in tv and every person I knew on social media seems to have a one time fling and get pregnant and i'm started to get quite effected mentally. I know i'm relatively new tot he party but I can't help feel sad each month when once again I'm on my period.

We haven't told our families we're trying as want it to be a surprise so I don't really have anyone to talk to this about who has gone through it. My partner understands the best he can but I'm starting to feel like it's me letting the team down. I know i'm being silly but I think i've got a UTI right now and so i'm annoyed at my body once again for being dodgy! All a bit emotional.

Megan x

Dogscanlookup · 23/07/2020 20:42

@JTB123 did you have any pregnancy symptoms? Or none at all?

@Tofu35 haha it’s only month two for us and I feel like DP is already feeling that way 😂

Aokbaby · 23/07/2020 19:54
