Feeling low today! I had a dream last night I was pregnant, so horrible waking up realising it wasn’t true! I also think we have to put TTC on hold after this month if it doesn’t happen because it would end up clashing with my best friends wedding. Sooo much pressure Sad

Poppyismyfavourite · 29/07/2020 09:54

@Bramleyapples13 stress is well-known to affect menstrual cycles, so it's highly possible if you've had some life disruption lately (who hasn't) that that could make a difference. Also the stress of TTC!

Daffodil21 · 29/07/2020 08:53

@Bramleyapples13 yes. Normally I have 34-37 day cycle. Has been up to 43 days before but not for a year. The month before last it was 32 days, and last month was 50. Who knows what this one will be!

There's a thread on this already:

Pandemic affecting menstrual cycle ?
http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/3898675-Pandemic-affecting-menstrual-cycle

@Poppyismyfavourite I'm sure they'll have plans in place, and if not it's not your problem Grin

@Bramleyapples13 I can’t comment sadly as I only came off the pill about 8 weeks ago! So far I’ve had one 27 day cycle though and shocked it was so average!

Bramleyapples13 · 28/07/2020 20:48

Has anyone else's cycles not been as regular with everything that has been going on? I've always been every 28days with medium flow for three days. But for the last 4 months, it's been every 26 days with lighter and lighter flow for 1 to 2 days. If I go by a 26 day cycle for this month then I'm three days late. But by my normal 28 day cycle then I'm due today and absolutely nada so far. But I'm wondering if it's something that other people have noticed with their own cycles?

Poppyismyfavourite · 28/07/2020 13:22

@Daffodil21 I think it's mostly the imposter syndrome talking. I often feel like I'm not really qualified (my background is in a different, related field) but got the job because I interview well and they liked me. Also there's still the old-school (*read "sexist") thing of not wanting to hire just-married, nearly-30-yr-old women because they'll just go off and get pregnant... which is exactly what I did!

Daffodil21 · 28/07/2020 13:16

@Poppyismyfavourite you're far nicer than I am - if I got pregnant I wouldn't give two shits what my boss thought 😂😂 I hope it goes well when you do tell them though, also remember they will be happy for you!

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 28/07/2020 10:25

@Daffodil21 I guess so - my boss is pretty switched on and "by the book" so I'm sure everything will be done properly. We have an HR department (University) but they're pretty shit... I only got a contract a couple of months after I started!
But it's a pretty male-dominated subject area, and I'm the only woman in our research group at the moment, so I doubt they've ever had to deal with organising maternity leave. I also feel a bit self conscious as it looks like I planned to take them for a ride!

Dogscanlookup · 28/07/2020 10:20

@Daffodil21 ok I think I will ignore! I’m trying to relax about things this month, last month I read into everything at every stage and it did my head in! Thanks for the advice 😊

Daffodil21 · 28/07/2020 10:02

@Poppyismyfavourite I'm sure they'll be absolutely fine. They must have things in place for this, and anyway, who cares, you're pregnant!! 😆

@Dogscanlookup clear blue says you should ignore the lines after you eject it. I ignored their advice last month and obsessed over those bloody lines. They seem to mean different things person to person - some people seem to have a clear progression of line and some people don't. I would suggest you eject and bin and don't look at it!!

Hope everyone had great weekends!

@honeysun101 sorry to hear you weren’t lucky this time round, we’re just on our second month too 😊

I’ve just started to use the CB OPK today and yesterday. So far no smiley, but I wouldn’t expect one for a few more days yet! Does anyone know what the two lines are when you pull the stick out?? Today the second one seemed more faded, does there need to be two to show it’s worked?

Poppyismyfavourite · 28/07/2020 09:54

@Daffodil21 I know it's so weird... going to be telling work soon and not looking forward to that! (I've only been here nearly a year and it's only a 3 year fixed term job, so I'm basically taking a year out of the middle...)

I think we will find out the sex - I'm not fussed but DH really wants to know. I guess it makes choosing a name easier - not looking forward to that, I fear we have wildly different tastes and will end up with a compromise that neither of us really likes...

Daffodil21 · 27/07/2020 20:43

@SVC11 ah ok, that's helpful, thank you. When I saw the brown on 9dpo last month I thought it was implantation (like an idiot!) but this month when I saw it again, I felt like my body had already decided it wasn't pregnant if you see what I mean

OP posts:
SVC11 · 27/07/2020 19:43

@Daffodil21 from what I've read it doesn't include spotting, so 13 days is really normal. It's probably because you aren't properly 'shedding' until youre in full flow so there's still a chance of implantation and production of the hormones that come after that. I come on my period properly after 10days... I'd really like that to increase to 12. I dunno if it will but fingers crossed.

Daffodil21 · 27/07/2020 19:23

@Poppyismyfavourite wow I can't believe your almost 12 weeks already!! Please do keep us posted! Are you going to find out what you're having before?

@JTB123 wow a wedding and a baby - so exciting!

@SVC11 hope the wait isn't too long for you! I think I might have a short luteal phase too, so let me know how you get on. I've been having a small amount of brown bleeding from 9/10dpo this month and last, with the 'main event' appearing 13/14 dpo - does that sound like a short luteal phase to you? I'm going to ask the consultant on my next appointment

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 17:40

@JTB123 my booking apt was over the phone. Apart from the private scan I haven't seen anyone in person yet.

JTB123 · 27/07/2020 17:38

@Daffodil21

My apps now say 5 weeks! I assume between 4-5! Eek!
1st telephone midwife appointment is booked for 10th august then after that I think I am invited into my go office for bloods etc then I will have to wait for a scan letter!!

Altho as @Poppyismyfavourite said, they aren't currently allowing partners at the scans, that could change for me within the next 7 weeks but we're planning to have an early scan after the midwife appointment as were due to get married late sept and wanted to tell our family and friends before!

Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 17:16

Hi @Daffodil21 I'm 11+4 now! My local hospital isn't allowing partners to scans atm so we actually had an early scan on saturday and saw our little baby jumping around (it was really active lol)!
TBH up til then it hadn't really felt "real" and I was paranoid about something being wrong, or that I wasn't really pregnant and had somehow made it up or peed on a stick wrong (although that's difficult to do wrong!). So... I held it together during the scan and cried all the way home lol! Luckily the scan place is at the bottom of our road.
We told our parents and siblings after that, but my NHS scan and tests are on thursday, so we're waiting to tell everyone else until then.

Daffodil21 · 27/07/2020 16:48

@Poppyismyfavourite @JTB123 how are you both doing?? Have you booked scans/midwife apps yet? How far are you now @Poppyismyfavourite ? So exciting!!

OP posts:
Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 15:54

Yeah I'm in a facebook one and it feels a little weird tbh... I did wonder if I'd see someone I knew!

JTB123 · 27/07/2020 15:28

@Poppyismyfavourite agreed ❤️ I've joined a pregnancy thread also, and they want to move it to a Facebook group..... no hunny I love MN!!! I feel like I can say anything because it's so like anonymous!

Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 15:16

It's just such a nice, supportive thread - it felt weird to "make friends" then just drop it!

JTB123 · 27/07/2020 14:58

@Poppyismyfavourite haha that's funny! 😂 ah so excited for your! I'm holding out for more BFPs soon! 😍

Poppyismyfavourite · 27/07/2020 14:26

haha @JTB123 I'm still here too, even though I'm now 11+4 pregnant! Love seeing good news! Still have my fingers crossed for the rest of you!

honeysun101 · 26/07/2020 21:27

AF arrived this morning, so I'm out! It was our 1st cycle trying so I'm not at all surprised. Hopefully this month 😊
