@Rosegold3112 It's a stress buster for me that's for sure.

@hollywhooo I'm so sorry you're having a crappy week. I'm sure we all can relate to feeling that way too at one point in time, you're not alone. TTC is stressful enough without everything else going on in the world complicating things even further. Have a lovely relaxing bath, a big glass of wine and maybe listen to some zen music. There's loads of podcasts out there with relaxing sounds that you could put on and maybe a nice eye mask and zone out of the world for a little while. Rain and thunder sounds do it for me. We're with you hon ❤️

Rosegold3112 · 20/06/2020 21:40

@hollywhooo I'm sorry you're struggling today. This coronavirus has a lot to answer for, but it won't be forever. Keep your head up ❤️ can you have a self-care evening? Have a relaxing bath and wine, or watch a film. Do something just for you? I know this lockdown seems to magnify worries and it can be really tough.

@jlmul9 fantastic! Must be relaxing as well

hollywhooo · 20/06/2020 21:21

Aww girls i’m just having a rubbish time. I’ve had an awful week, work is stressing me out, i had the biggest argument i’ve ever had with OH, it feels like a baby will never happen, Coronavirus, everything. Just really feeling down at the moment :( x x

jlmul9 · 20/06/2020 18:44

@Rosegold3112 I've been picking up piano again during lockdown. Music for me is my escape and picks me up when I'm feeling a bit down.

Rosegold3112 · 20/06/2020 13:20

@newbie0818 was nice to be awake to see it. Better start to the day than yesterday 😊

@jlmul9 I know so hard to resist! So hard to find distractions as well.

Anyone got any good hobbies they could recommend or any good distraction techniques?

jlmul9 · 20/06/2020 12:01

Thanks everyone, of course I couldn't resist this morning either and another BFN. I need hubby to hide them from me!

@Newbie0818 I definitely understand the feelings of the big green monster. You're happy for them but have that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach too Sad.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for all still waiting. This 2ww feels more like a 20ww most months!!

Newbie0818 · 20/06/2020 11:52

Thanks @xoJellyBean it's quite painful today and the doctor explained that the constant cramps I seem to have may be cysts. Gah! I think lots of women with pcos manage to conceive so I'm hopeful, just impatient haha.

@RosebudTTC I had a similar question last cycle, and everyone and everything seemed to say it's your first full day of proper flow 🤷🏼‍♀️

RosebudTTC · 20/06/2020 11:41

I'm confused and wonder what you all think. Sorry this might all be a bit TMI.

So I was super excited on Wednesday when I wrote that AF had arrived. I had one bit of fresh red blood that day but since then just a bit of brown on wiping. This is usual for me, and it can last for a week or even 2 weeks+ before proper bleeding starts. What do I count as cycle day 1? Does the brown on wiping count as part of my period or do I wait until I'm bleeding properly?

I've had this predicament so many times and it's making tracking my cycles really really difficult!

SarahTTC2020 · 20/06/2020 11:13

@JoannaGray I ovulate same time as you but not had spotting then. Occasionally around cd7/8 I'd get like a blob of brownish mucus which I always thought was just some old blood from AF - maybe is just that

xoJellyBean · 20/06/2020 10:42

Sorry I've only seen your messages now @Newbie0818 hope you're okay! My mum has PCOS and was told her chances of conceiving were slim but she had three of us :). I think trying the natural remedies is a great idea. much love xx

@Eppy123 definitely. And I hear you, it's so hard not to compare

Eppy123 · 20/06/2020 09:10

@Newbie0818 sorry to hear about your diagnosis but hopefully it’s a little bit of clarity for you?

I feel slightly better about this whole process already knowing there are other people out there in the same boat as me - friends and family who have been trying have all got pregnant super quickly (all within 3 months of trying) which probably doesn’t help with me comparing to them!

Newbie0818 · 20/06/2020 08:54

@jlmul9 hi :) I wouldn't say so, hcg rises differently for each person so it could be worth testing next week.

@Rosegold3112 that is a lovely picture! And you might just have missed your surge with opk's, it happens very quickly. Wait it out girl, not long x

JoannaGray · 20/06/2020 08:51

Hi girlies :-) I’ve had a read through this thread and it’s so good to know that others have long cycles like me.

My DH and I have been trying for around 14 months with no luck. My cycles are long and I think I usually ovulate around day 25-28. So frustrating.

Do any of you girlies who ovulate late get spotting? I spot brown blood every cycle around days 14-20. It’s defo not ovulation spotting. Anyone know why this happens?

Rosegold3112 · 20/06/2020 08:37

@jlmul9 welcome! Fingers crossed for you! I'd wait until next week to test again for your sanity - they are meant to be most accurate from the day of your missed period.

Today is an interesting one for me. I woke up at 4:55 this morning and thought I better wait 5 minutes to take my temperature so as not to upset my fertility friend app (even though I can take it all the way up to 5:59 and it would be happy 🙄) and I look up to notice a beautiful sunrise so I get up 2 feet to take a pic. Sit down on my bed to do my temp thinking screw it by now a couple of minutes isn't going to do anything. My temp is 37.31 - the highest its been since before af. Shocked me a bit, especially seeing as yesterday I had a mental breakdown about why my body is out of whack and didn't bd with oh. Also I've been doing opks for the last 5 days at around 1-3pm and all have been very negative with only a barely visible line (which also had me worrying about any sort of hormones my body produces but I'll save that for another time). I have 4 apps I use for charting now (I know obsessive 😅🙄) and I only entered this temp in one. I went for a wee, got back into bed and checked my temp again - now 36.18 which is still high for all my temps this cycle but within range. Its only reached that temp once. I know it could have gone down again by tomo and atm doesn't mean a thing but I'm kicking myself for getting out of bed to take that picture. I've attached the offending specimen 😂 don't even have a nice view but pretty colours.
If it turns out this is the real deal then what are the odds I could have ovulated without getting even a slight hint at a surge on the opks?

Hi fellow long cycle ladies, new to the thread! I'm 33, DH is 38, ttc for 5 years now Sad

My cycles are usually 33-38 days long. After some investigations last year triggered by my bff telling me she was pregnant (I was so upset and felt like the worst friend ever), we discovered I had hypothyroidism and high prolactin levels which I've been on medication for since August. Docs are pretty sure from various bloods that I am ovulating, but suggested getting a HSG test done to check for blockages etc. DH's tests have come out fine thank god.

On Cycle who knows now, day 28. Apps are telling me I ovulated on day 17 so DTD on days 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 23 for good measure. AF not due until the second half of next week. Had vv light cramps for a couple of days during the week and but I'm thinking they were more imagined than anything. Drove myself crazy the last few days testing (8-11dpo) with nothing but BFNs. Going to try and wait until the middle of next week to test again. When AF doesn't arrive until 18-21dpo it seems silly to expect a second line at the usual 12dpo right? Confused Confused

Newbie0818 · 19/06/2020 20:58

@Suki2020 since I came off the pill in August .

@hollywhooo thank you x

hollywhooo · 19/06/2020 19:59

@Newbie0818 ahhh so sorry to read this lovely. Hope you’re okay x x

Suki2020 · 19/06/2020 18:58

@Newbie0818 how long have you been trying for?

Newbie0818 · 19/06/2020 15:29

@Suki2020 this is the nhs we're talking about, no way haha! No they said if after 18 months no luck then they can help. Really hoping it doesn't get to that point 😨 I'm going to try some herbal remedies next cycle if af comes in two weeks, hopefully not though 🤞🏼

Suki2020 · 19/06/2020 14:06

@Newbie0818 sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Sending big hugs. What happened now? Will they give you some medication to regulate your cycle as they know you are trying for a baby?

Newbie0818 · 19/06/2020 14:05

Thank you ladies. I'm feeling quite sorry for myself today, but like you all said there's ways to help. The gp said dh should do a sperm analysis just in case, and that they could intervene after 18 months (bit long?!) I was going to try some of the herbal remedies next cycle if not lucky this time round. It does explain a lot so I'm a bit relieved in that sense. Thanks for your support ❤️

@Rosegold3112 don't feel silly for crying! It's such an emotional process, and you just need to let it out sometimes. And don't compare to others as we all have our own struggles xx

JanQi · 19/06/2020 13:22

@Newbie0818 Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, it's totally understandable that you'd be upset. At least now you know though and can explore the options available. I hope you're feeling okay, don't lose heart.

@Eppy123 I'm in the same boat, totally new to this and trying to figure everything out! I'd also like to know what thermometers everyone is using, there seem to be loads on Amazon but it's hard to tell which is best Confused

Rosegold3112 · 19/06/2020 12:02

@Newbie0818 thanks! Fingers crossed that your temps stay up. Certainly looks hopeful!
I woke up at 5 to another really low temp. I'm now cd 19 so it's going to be another long cycle. I know it's not as long as lots of you but I just broke down went back to bed crying. My cycles were always regular before lockdown and the initial stress of it all is gone so I really can't put a finger on why they have changed now. I will never know if I was ovulating before but I'm so dreading that I'm not now and I'll be stuck with a forever "what if" over my head. Now I just feel really sad, tired and have no motivation for the day. Sorry to moan.
Sorry about your diagnosis as well. I hope now at least you have an answer and available help. Good luck!
@sarahttc2020 I was just reading about pregnacare conception. Do you take it? Reading the reviews I was very intrigued! However some people have claimed its made their cycles irregular so not sure I want to take the risk right now

SarahTTC2020 · 19/06/2020 11:37

@Newbie0818 at least you got a diagnosis and know now. My cousin has pcos and had 3 kids no trouble so it's definitely not a given that it will cause issues. Myo insitol has loads of research too for helping regulate cycles/ovulation for pcos 💛

I had loads to catch up on! Took a few days off during AF as you know what it's like when you know you have ages to wait until fw again! Cd11 for me and ov at cd26 last time so won't start on the OPKs yet,
Told DH that we should start DTD every other day now though, he doesn't need to know that fw isn't yet 🤣
