@SarahTTC2020 i feel exactly the same as you. I’m day 30 (ovulated day 31 last cycle) and my OPK lines non existent so expecting a 100day plus cycle again :(

SarahTTC2020 · 27/08/2020 17:11

The soy flavones... Do you have to wait until cd1?
I'm cd50 and just feel like cd1 isn't going to happen😔

justlonelystars · 27/08/2020 11:46

@Tink2019 maybe - but my temperature dipped at the “correct” time but my test strips peaked at 20% and went back to zero. DTD anyway just in case! I’ve been very run down the past month (work and personal life stress) so maybe my body is just taking a bit of a break!

Tink2019 · 27/08/2020 11:44

@Elakiya not consultants but I did have some friends say it which really pissed me off as it's not like I don't eat normally! It sounds like you're doing everything you can 😊 x

@justlonelystars oh no, maybe you missed it?

justlonelystars · 27/08/2020 11:29

Hey everyone! So my body seems to have decided to skip ovulation this month. No peak results on my LH test strips. There’s always next month I suppose!

Elakiya · 27/08/2020 11:11

@Tink2019 did you find consultants telling you to gain weight? My friend at work had that and then they finally put her on clomid and she got pregnant within 4 cycles.

I’ve started to be good with the eating again and probably won’t get my scans and bloods done for another 2 months so trying to lose at least 5kg-10kg before then.

Went on a 1 hour brisk walk yesterday and I am only eating between 8-4 now as well so fingers crossed I get there 😁

Tink2019 · 26/08/2020 18:59

@Elakiya that's good you've got the ball rolling - hopefully all will come back ok and it'll give you some peace of mind. Or, it'll pinpoint what the problem areas are so you can focus on those and hopefully change them. We had all the tests and everything came back ok except consultant didn't think I was ovulating each month - they prescribed me Clomid but I decided to try the 'natural' version (soy isoflavones) first and it did the trick. It must be so so hard trying to lose weight at the moment with lockdown - I have the opposite issue, I'm naturally very very petite and always worried it would cause issues from a fertility point of view. Hang in there and try not to put pressure on yourself xx

Elakiya · 26/08/2020 17:20

@Tink2019 Stay positive I'm sure it will all workout well. How long have you been trying by the way?

I am okay, I've been seeing someone privately about my infertility. Basic stuff is covered on my insurance. So now I have to have a HSG scan which is covered by the insurance and some blood work done. My husband needs to do a semen analysis (which we're going to pay for as it seems impossible to even get a hold of my GP). Then we'll go back to the consultant and see what he says.

I was initially very obese and now I'm in the overweight category but if I have to go back to the NHS I know they'll not even care unless I get down to my healthy weight :(. I really need to focus on weight loss which is becoming very difficult.

Tink2019 · 26/08/2020 15:05

No updates @Elakiya, but thank you for checking in. Next scan is in a week and a half - I'll be over 8 weeks then so they'll hopefully be able to rule out a molar pregnancy and see a heartbeat, currently just trying to keep positive. Hope you're ok x

Elakiya · 26/08/2020 14:44

@Tink2019 How are you? Any updates?

Tink2019 · 26/08/2020 14:33

Congratulations 🎉

Suki2020 · 26/08/2020 09:02

@JanQi congratulations 🎉

JanQi · 25/08/2020 13:39

@Pol96 Thank you!! It hasn't quite sunk in yet.

Pol96 · 24/08/2020 17:36

Yay! Congratulations @JanQi!!

JanQi · 24/08/2020 17:07

I haven't posted here for a while and I'd worked myself into a total frenzy absolutely convinced there was something wrong and I wasn't ovulating. AF was due tomorrow so on a whim I picked up a Clearblue digital test on the way home and took it, fully expecting it to be negative but... it wasn't! My first BFP. I can't believe it. I just had to tell someone! (Haven't even told DP yet because he's at work and I've just been sitting here in shock for the past hour!)

Pol96 · 24/08/2020 09:46

@Elakiya thank you 😊

Castor oil packs are basically a flannel soaked in castor oil placed over your belly wrapped in cling film with a hot water bottle on top.. Its supposed to clear any blocked tubes etc and if used over your liver (I think it was liver) it gets rid of excess hormones which could be disrupting your cycle.. I did a lot of research on it before trying it.. I believe I did 3 or 4 after my period but before ovulation.. Definitely have a Google and see but there were quite a few sites suggesting it as a more natural approach to fertility

Elakiya · 24/08/2020 09:27

@Pol96 Congratulations so happy for you.
I am intrigued, what are castor oil packs and how do you use them?

restingbface · 23/08/2020 09:57

@Pol96 congratulations 💙 sounds absolutely amazing 👶 🍼 @duckii I’m doing SMEP this month & still testing but hopefully back to work from furlough in a week or 2 & that will keep my mind distracted rather than over analysing everything! X

Pol96 · 23/08/2020 09:53

And thank you @Suki2020, @Tink2019 @xoJellyBean 💙

Pol96 · 23/08/2020 09:51

@Elsie2021 thank you 😊

My cycles varied quite a bit.. Shortest 30 longest 124! I came of the pill towards the start of 2018, used other contraception until we decided to see "if it happens it happens" summer last year, not trying as such but definitely not preventing! Started properly ttc in Feb this year after we had moved in to our new home but didn't start tracking until March and got my bfp in May (in terms of cycles it took one of not tracking and got my bfp on the next cycle I tracked using opks and temping, so 2 cycles properly trying but I guess about 8 if you include not preventing) I used pregnacare conception (from end of feb/half way through my non tracking cycle) which I think helped shorten/regulate my cycle (especially as my dates for this pregnancy were spot on!) I also used castor oil packs a couple of times before ovulation the month I conceived.

@Candypj welcome and good luck with your first TWW!

Baby dust to you all! X

Candypj · 23/08/2020 09:33

Hey guys! This is my first time joining in here. I’ve been ttc for 5 months now and have a regular cycle between 31-33 days, slightly longer than average. I’ve been tracking my ovulation with tests and it’s pretty consistent on the 17th cd.
No luck getting pregnant yet but I’m in the 2 week wait currently for this month so we will see..! I’m starting to feel down especially as in the past month 3 of my friends have gotten pregnant, anyone else find that hard to see? I feel bad about that!
But anyway, any tips would be amazing and wishing you all luck and love xx

Elsie2021 · 23/08/2020 08:50

@Pol96

I have long cycles and have just started ready this thread. Congratulations on your pregnancy, so happy for you!

Do you mind telling me how long your cycles were and how long you were TTC to give me hope?! Thank you xx

duckii · 23/08/2020 00:12
@SarahTTC2020 I haven't been checking temps or OPKs over the last while, always just assume I ovulate 😳 what's your temp saying?

@Pol96 awww that's so sweet 🥰 glad all is well!
Are you following any dtd plan like smep? I might give testing a miss this month as it always adds so much pressure on!
