Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

@CAG14 I guess I'll just wait and see if AF comes now lol. So excited for you to test! 🤞 @LT103 @Jadeb1995 I know the whole, "don't think about it and it'll happen" thing is really annoying and honestly it p*ssed me off so much hearing it for 2 years but guess what.. That's what happened for me haha. I lost 4 stone and doctors decided I was a healthy enough weight to now refer me for fertility checking. This began in November and I was awaiting AF to arrive to go for a HSG test end of February. We stopped tracking and being on edge as soon as we got the go ahead that we were getting help and there we go, pregnant in March and never made the HSG test lol. It's impossible to relax though! We only relaxed because we literally handed our health into someone else's hands. Now we're back to obsessing 😣

LT103 · 18/06/2020 14:39

@Jadeb1995 so true!! I’ve spent far more time than I should googling everything about it instead of just taking it easy. Hoping it gets better with time and not worse 🙈

Jadeb1995 · 18/06/2020 14:35

@LT103 it's so hard isn't it! It's when people say "just don't think about it and it will happen" well if I bloody could I would haha!

LT103 · 18/06/2020 14:21

I totally started this journey saying I’ll be relaxed and let things happen naturally and I’ve been anything but! Haha. Just heard from boss that I’m not back til 20 July do think I need to ban google searches between now and then. At least pregnancy related ones. Just need to learn to relax and make the most of it!!! But it’s definitely easier said than done!!

Jadeb1995 · 18/06/2020 13:42

@CAG14 that's so lovely thank you. That's such a good point as well, for soooo long you're told how not to get pregnant! If only all this was taught in biology hey! Haha

CAG14 · 18/06/2020 13:39

@Stabal yeah the temp thing as so much margin for error so it is the one thing I've kept away from but I've heard it really can detect ovulation accurately and pregnancy before you know it. I think I'll test on monday or Tuesday next week.

@Jadeb1995 @JanQi I completely get it girls. I was the same when I first started TTC and also have a history of anxiety. I was thinking about it so much it actually caused me to have a really late period as think my body was responding to the anxiety. I have got better in time (now on my 9th month ttc) as I realise that so much is really put of our control and it takes the average woman 1 year to conceive #1 and many are a lot longer than that. I think the thing is we are not taught about this at school, just how not to get pregnant, and many women don't discuss with their friends and family openly so it becomes very overwhelming when you first start the journey as so much stuff that says "do this, dont do this" and you can spend hours trawling the internet. A lot of my friends had kids before I started trying and some got pregnant within 1 month and others it took them 18 months. But I didnt know this really until I asked. That's why this forum is good to offload worries and doubts and get advice, but remember to just do what you feel is best as well.

@JanQi I have never read a post that I relate to so much!!

I am exactly the same as you, very early on compared to other people who have been ttc for a longer time.

I find myself sitting and thinking about it so much because I want to do all that I can but then I also find everything very overwhelming.

I've also suffered from anxiety in the past and my partner is concerned that I get too stressed out about it so I tend not to tell him as much now because he is very "let's just go with the flow and it will happen" but I don't know how I would mentally be able to deal with it taking too long as it consumes so much of my mind.

Sounds like we're in the same boat, I tracked my ovulation last month but only on an app and I've figured out it must have been wrong as my period come early. We've made the decision to dtd every other day after my AF has finished, that way I'm not going to concentrate on my ovulation and hope for the best. However I know that if it doesn't happen next month, I'll be worrying again and googling everything!!

JanQi · 18/06/2020 13:01

Hope you ladies don't mind me jumping on this thread. I'm only on my second cycle TTC baby #1 and I'm feeling really overwhelmed today. I'm furloughed so I've had too much time on my hands and I've gone from being really relaxed about the whole thing to massively stressed about what I should and shouldn't be doing.

It's so difficult to know what to do for the best when there's so much info out there! I don't want to go overboard with the obsessing and lifestyle changes because I know it could be a long time before anything happens but the more I read the more overwhelmed I feel.

I have anxiety which has been under control for a while but I can feel myself getting worked up about all this.

Sorry for the rant! I can't talk to anyone IRL about this so I'm so glad to have found this forum!

Stabal · 18/06/2020 10:55

@CAG14 My understanding is temps should stay elevated if pregnant due to progesterone but this is my first time ever trying it. You're supposed to have uninterrupted sleep for at least 3/4 hours before testing so I've always thought it was useless for me but I've decided to try anything since my miscarriage lol. When are you going to test?

CAG14 · 18/06/2020 09:14

@Stabal Morning! Proper groggy here too! But I havent slept well this week at all for some reason. My left boob still hurts and feels really hard and full. No other symptoms but I wouldn't really be getting them until saturday anyway. I'll be 11DPO on Tuesday so I'll probably do a test then knowing me. I never get the temperature thing, does it go down just before AF?

OP posts:
Stabal · 18/06/2020 08:35

How are we all today? Super groggy here and was lying in bed with waves of nausea before I had to force myself up or I'd be late for work. My temp was 36.17 though so I reckon I'm out of the running and it's just AF working 😔

Jadeb1995 · 17/06/2020 19:06

@CAG14 It's got heavier today so thinking it's AF but if I continue to not get any period pains then I'll defo test. I've read that some people have had really heavy implantation bleeding so I guess you never know!
Thank you for your advice. Xx

CAG14 · 17/06/2020 19:03

@Jadeb1995 I can't remember if you said you had some first response tests or not? If AF doesn't make her appearance by Friday I would test as you can get a positive on a FRER up to 5 days before AF (although I would wait till 3 days before for more accuracy)

OP posts:
Jadeb1995 · 17/06/2020 18:04

@CAG14 ahh I have everything crossed for you. Yes usually very regular every 29 days so a bit strange but I'm going to start using OPK this month
@stabal sorry about your BFN :(

CAG14 · 17/06/2020 17:54

@Stabal I meant to also say I am sorry for your BFN. It could be too early though so fingers crossed!

OP posts:
CAG14 · 17/06/2020 17:53

@Jadeb1995 yes I used OPKs so hopefully pretty accurate. Hopefully it is implantation. 5 days early is quite a lot. Do you normally have regular AF?

@Stabal I dont normally get sore boobs really. Nothing that noticeable anyway. I definitely dont get this weird stabbing pain. But it could be anything so not going to overthink it (too much anyway haha)

It is absolutely pouring with rain here. Like an actual monsoon! Thunder and lightning too. My road is practically flooded. Pray for some sunshine soon, staying in is causing me to think more about the two week wait agony.

OP posts:
Stabal · 17/06/2020 13:14

@CAG14 🤞would you normally get boob pain during your period? I usually have sore boobs just after ovulation then as soon as AF comes they stop. They were the worst they've ever been when I was pregnant and I remember thinking why are they sore for 4 weeks and not stopping 😂 I hadn't been tracking anything as we were just finally starting to get some help with fertility so I gave it all a rest, putting my problems into someone else's hands I guess. So I never even thought it could possibly be pregnancy.
I have a sore back today but that could be anything. Today I've convinced myself it's just AF building to a god awful cycle. Caved and took a cheapie strip test and got BFN. Not holding out much hope but hey ho, we'll see.
@Jadeb1995 sorry it seems to be AF. But I hope it finished quickly so you can try again!

Jadeb1995 · 17/06/2020 10:47

Ahh that sounds positive @CAG14
Did you use OPK to track?
I'm pretty sure AF has come 5 days early, I did wonder if it was implantation bleeding as I've not had any period pains at all and usually do. Plus I just don't feel like I'm on my period but I also don't think I'm pregnant haha!

CAG14 · 17/06/2020 10:00

Morning ladies. How are we all?

I have had the weirdest stabbing pains in my left boob this morning. And they are a bit tender. Which is weird as I'm not due on AF until about 9 days. I googled it because I'm crazy and apparently an early PG symptom.... but then I'm only 5DPO so how can it be. It was really quite uncomfortable though.

OP posts:
Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:31

I know me toooo!!
If it's not this month I just want to get AF over and done with so I can try again!

Stabal · 16/06/2020 21:29

@Jadeb1995 to be fair I'll probably give in and do one 🙈 but I'll be sure to update. I'm so nervous for all of us haha

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:26

@stabal just re read your post about the tests, hope you can hold out on testing till next week!! It's so hard isn't it but then when I get the negative I wish I'd waited!

Jadeb1995 · 16/06/2020 21:25

Aww fingers crossed for you, keep us updated @CAG14 I've had some weird twinges, been quite constipated and got sensitive gums but it could be anything couldn't it!
@Stabal excited for you to test Friday. I've seen lots of people talk about the FR tests so might have to purchase some of them.

Stabal · 16/06/2020 21:23

@CAG14 with first response probably in a weeks time but I'd like to hold off for a better chance. I'm so scared of it being negative even though I know I shouldn't be so hard on myself!

CAG14 · 16/06/2020 21:20

@jadeb1995 I am only 4DPO so way too early for me to feel symptoms (although I obviously still think I feel twinges and cramps related haha). AF is due around 28th so will try to hold on but I usually end up testing with a FRER a couple of days before that.

@stabal this all sounds really promising. When do you think the earliest you can test is?
