Hey

This is my 9th month TTC my first baby and I'm 33. I got static smiley on Friday on OPK, and now I'm in my TWW - again! I'm currently on furlough so the wait seems even longer and more painful and I definitely end up going a bit crazy 🤪

Anyone else in similar boat and need keeping sane?! Also any TTC tips you've heard of? I will literally try anything at the moment haha.

Just had a really dizzy spell. Stood up after having dinner and felt really dizzy like I might faint and now I feel quite nauseous. Maybe because it is hot but I'm hoping this is an early pregnancy symptom lol

@LT103 Quite far about 15/16.. But I had brown spotting when I wiped for half a day last monday so thinking that was implantation. Due on anytime from Friday (my luteal phase is quite long) so we'll see how it goes.. And I'll test again on Friday too!

CAG14 · 22/06/2020 14:29

@Stabal a definite darker line, that's a positive for sure. Really hope it sticks for you.

Jadeb1995 · 22/06/2020 14:21

Thanks @LT103
@stabal I can see a line there!!

LT103 · 22/06/2020 14:19

@stabal I can definitely see a line on that one 👏 how many days po are you? So exciting!!!

Stabal · 22/06/2020 14:03

@Flittingabout ahh thank you! Hoping it's true and it's a sticky bean! 🤞

Flittingabout · 22/06/2020 14:01

@Stabal

It's darker. I'm sure because I can definitely see it this time whereas I couldn't see anything before! Woohoo!

Stabal · 22/06/2020 13:49

This is darker right? Someone needs to come and knock me out.. My last frer thank god. I will not step foot into a chemist until Friday!!

@Jadeb1995 I think just keep testing daily until line is either same colour as or darker than control line. As it gets darker, my strips say can do twice daily to make sure don’t miss the positive

Jadeb1995 · 22/06/2020 13:25

I've just taken my first ovulation test much. On all the apps I have it says I'm not ovulating till end of the week but they haven't worked for me so far!
I'm presuming that this result means that I'm ovulating soon as it's not really dark but there is a line there?

Stabal · 22/06/2020 12:53

@CAG14 sorry about the BFN. It's still early though, everything crossed for you!

CAG14 · 22/06/2020 11:55

@LT103 the clearblue ones are really easy to interpret as you get either blank face - not fertile, flashing smiley - building up to ovulation or static smiley- ovulation in next 24 hours. I've found them the best but they aren't cheap!

@LMA27 yes I know it not good to overthink things. I had a few months where I didnt use the sticks, and didnt tell my OH anything and waited until AF turned up. It helped with being more calm but then I reverted back to the obsessing as I'm on furlough and hard to be distracted. I also know that you really do have to give it everything if you want to have a decent chance of conceiving. It is catch 22 lol.

@Nellyk84 it is definitely good not to get bogged down in it all as can feel so draining when it doesnt happen. Try not to worry about your sister as every woman is different and it won't be something that runs in the family if you know what I mean

Nellyk84 · 22/06/2020 11:24

@CAG14 Thanks for the encouragement :) We've decided that we're going to go with the every other day method throughout which DPs more than happy with lol
I can get a bit obsessive with things so I don't want to get myself bogged down with testing all the time and end up feeling down and negative about it. It is strange though that as soon as you start this process you can convince yourself that every twinge is something positive happening.

Also, although I'm one of 4, my eldest sister had wanted children for the longest time but unfortunately, was unable to conceive due to a "hostile environment" and even IVF hadn't worked. That plays on my mind a little in case I'm like that too Confused

LT103 · 22/06/2020 11:17

@lma27. I’m cd10. This is the first mo the I’ve tracked properly and looking back last 2 months we prob didn’t dtd at the right time. Def trying this month. Not had any positives on sticks yet. I’ve heard the Clearblue ones are really easy to interpret. Let me know how you get on!
I’d agree with you but I think nature must make our hormones this way haha. I had an awful period there spotted for 5 days then on and off next couple days, really light so no idea what happened which is partly why I’m keen to check for ovulation this month. But I felt rubbish the whole 2 weeks with cramps and really just wasn’t interested. I’m glad that’s over now haha!

LMA27 · 22/06/2020 11:06

Hi @LT103
I’ve ordered some clear blue ovulation sticks so I’ll see how they work and if no luck I’ll try what you have suggested 😊 where are you in cycle 3?

Does anyone else find your both naturally more sexually active during the week after your period, I noticed this before I even looked into when ovulation was, it’s like our bodies knew haha it’s fascinating.

LT103 · 22/06/2020 09:58

@LMA27 sorry I should read all threads before relying 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also cycle 3 baby 1 here

LT103 · 22/06/2020 09:57

@LMA27 and yes I also take pregnacare and pee bright yellow. That’s normal. Same happens with me if I take berocca

LT103 · 22/06/2020 09:56

@LMA27 welcome 😊. This is my first month tracking. I got Femometer ovulation sticks from amazon. They’re super cheap and you can use them with a free app. It tells you when to start testing and you take a pic of the stick and it logs it for you. I’ve oNly just started using my sticks in last day or 2 but working fine. I use that and Ovia app where you log details and it predicts your fertile window and ovulation. Hoping between the 2 apps and sticks I’ll have more idea what’s happening.
I’m also with you in that my oh doesn’t get the need to control everything so I’ve told him we need to dtd more and mention a bit about what week I’m likely to be most fertile but he won’t want to know more so I don’t bore him with the details of the ovulation sticks or tell him what days we need to dtd. It’s working so far haha. I’m sure if time goes on with nothing happening, I’ll go through it all with him 🤣

LMA27 · 22/06/2020 09:54

Good luck @gk35
We’re in a similar situation, I’ve just started cycle no3 for baby no1 xx

LMA27 · 22/06/2020 09:52

I take pregnecare TTC supplements & bought OH some too. Although does anyone else have this, hope it’s not TMI but the colour of my urine is bright yellow when I take them! Haha apparently it’s nothing to worry about according to google...

@CAG14 thank you!! I’m only saying this as I’d be saying it to myself, try not to drive yourself mad overthinking and testing too much. I know it’s so hard, and I’ll be exactly the same next month when I’m at the stage your in. In the 2 week wait I didn’t look at my dates and I didn’t open FLO and I just thought if I don’t test then I won’t be disappointed... it could be denial but either way it did help me. I was disappointed when AF arrived but that was just 1 disappointment rather than several as I did that the month previous. Easier said than done though I know 💛 I’m sending positive vibes your way though and I really have everything crossed for you.

gk35 · 22/06/2020 09:20

Morning all, I'm going to hop on this thread! AF due in 2 days, I have resisted the urge to test and I'm going to wait to see if it arrives. This is my 2nd cycle for baby number 1!

CAG14 · 22/06/2020 09:16

I tested this morning and got a BFN. I am 10DPO but could be 9DPO as just going off when I got my static smiley on my clearblue OPK. I'll test again on wednesday but I'm not confident.

@lma27 welcome! I would definitely recommend doing ovulation tests as when I was just doing Flo it got my ovulation dates wrong and it is quite common to do so. I also take supplements such as coq10 vital dha and folic acid. As well as using a fertility cup after sex to keep the sperm up there and close to the cervix. All have been recommended by people who have got pregnant so I'll give anything a go! Good luck :-)

Hi ladies
I hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread. I’ve spent my morning reading all your messages and I’m so relieved I have found somewhere I can relate. I really feel for everyone trying and those who have lost and still trying, I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

I came off the pill in Jan as my moods and hormones were all over the place. Me and OH spoke about TTC in late April, our approaches are a little different.. he doesn’t want the pressure of scheduled sex etc. Basically I’m tracking everything on FLO and he’s just going with the flow haha
Convinced myself I was showing signs of pregnancy this month until AF arrived on Saturday. I didn’t tell my OH this as he doesn’t want the pressure. I was only 1 day late 🙈 why do we google everything and drive ourselves mad?!
Can anyone recommend what to buy to track when I’m ovulating / improve chance of conceiving please?
We’re looking for a new house so I’m hoping that will distract us (mainly me, OH is cool as a cucumber) oh I’m 31 and OH is 35 😊

@Stabal I definitely saw a faint line!
@CAG14 have you resisted doing a test or caved? It’s so hard it’s like a battle with yourself you know it’s too early but for some reason you test anyway 🙈
Sorry for the long post!!

CAG14 · 21/06/2020 22:05

@Nellyk84 ahh best of luck on the start of your ttc journey! I've heard many who get pregnant straight away after having mirena out, but if it takes a while don't be disheartened. Are you going to track OPK?

OP posts:
Nellyk84 · 21/06/2020 20:56

Hi all,

Me and my DP have just started TTC our first. Had my Mirena out a week and half ago so not holding out for much for the first few months whilst body readjusts but no harm in practicing is there lol
On paper, odds look stacked against with me being 36 and a BMI over 40 and DP being 38 who smokes and likes a lager over the weekend. DP has 3 boys from previous marriage, youngest lives with us, other 2 over 18 now (they had em early).

I've decided I'm going with the relaxed approach of if and when it happens, it happens and keep the pressure and stress of it all to a minimum.

Got my fingers and toes crossed for all of us ladies 🤞 xx
