Hey girls, as @juno231 pointed out, we were almost at 1,000 messages on our last testing thread, so thought we should set up a new one for anyone that hasn't got their BFP this month. Of course a few of you may still get your positives :)

I'm just going to tag anyone that has posted on the thread in the last 24 hours or so, but please feel free to tag others that I've missed out...

@foreverhopeful67 @BbyBx2 @Muriel84 @Smushty14 @Smiling124 @33Carr @memily @LottieX

Of course this thread is based on a cycle of around 30days, so take the title with a pinch of salt as I'm sure some of us will be testing earlier and some of us later. I seem to be on track for a 33+ day cycle at the mo! xx

@LottieX do you have to use a specific thermometer with that app? I input my temps manually into Premom, but feel like it doesn't give me that clear a chart. My BBTs made no sense this month, but maybe if I used a better chart I might be able to make more sense of it x

My favourite app so far is femometer as it was by the bbt thermometer I bought. Slightly obsessed with checking my chart and comparing it to others 🤣 it's very reassuring to see how different is and everyone has their own normal!

I used preseed last month, I enjoyed it but my biggest tip would be to pop some in 10-15 mins beforehand (if you can)!

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/06/2020 21:42

Ooh snap for af due date then! @eastcoastgirl my cycles are either 24 or 26 days long, very odd lol

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 20:46

@eastcoastgirl we used preseed this month too!

I use the Premom app and the easy@home OPKs. I think it basically suggests you use them through your cycle for the first time to understand what your normal LH levels are, although technically even if you get a darker line it's still not a positive until it's darker than the control, so not entirely show how useful finding your baseline is 🤷🏻‍♀️ I did it anyway and started from the day my period finished ☺️ The OPKs I used said you could do them from 11am until early evening I think. I found I was more likely to see a dark line when I was getting a surge if I tested around midday, but that's just coz I find I drink a lot more in the afternoon. Apparently the best time to test is between 2-3pm x

@Smiling124 well that's true, I just have a feeling AF will come soon, I'm due just the day after you ☺️ So tempting to test tomorrow, but think I'll leave it and see if Af comes first, if not I'll test Sunday x

OP posts:
eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:39

Does anyone use the premom app and could answer a question for me please?

Under today's date it's showing me the message 'after period start testing the find the LH baseline' (due to finish today), then on tomorrow's entry it says 'start ovulation testing once a day'. Are these the same tests? Should I test today or wait until tomorrow? Are these the ones that people recommend taking in the afternoon? X

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:26

@mintgreenlife I'm going to try the same as you with the OPKs this month. I've got the CB fertility monitor, which asked you to test from about day 6 or 7 I think, but I'm combining with the cheapies this month just to double check. CB asks for FMU, so I'll do those in the morning then when I start showing High results, or according to what the flo app and SMEP is telling me I'll combine with an internet cheapy in an afternoon. I've ordered some of the preseed as well - feel like I am tooled up for this month 😂

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:21

@notyetamumbuttrying snap! Just catching up on messages now. Short cycles here too. This month AF arrived on what would have been CD27, so was only a 26 day cycle. I'm due on 4th July too.

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 20:17

@PippaRoo88 it's probably not a bad thing that you've been chilled about it so far ☺️ Hopefully you'll find OPKs pretty easy to use and will be able to detect your peak so you can carry on being fairly laid back. Let me know if you have any questions at all. This is only my first cycle but I'm working part time ATM because of the current situation, so I have a lot of time on my hands to read pretty much everything I can find about TTC 🙈 X

Hi everyone! We have beeb trying since December, I know its not long compared to lots of others but seems like a life time! Lets keep positive @MintGreenLife not over till AF! Hi everyone! AF due tomorrow (sitting at day 31 of my cycle) but not tried ovualtion strips etc so going on averages!! Still feeling so rough but cannot tell of its normal af or differernt!! These threads are keeping me sane!

eastcoastgirl · 11/06/2020 20:10

Jumping on here. Its cycle 3 for us now, I'll be testing around the 6th July according to one of my apps.

BbyBx2 · 11/06/2020 18:39

Thanks for setting this up,

Congratulations on all the BFP's!

I'm due to test middle of next week. Currently 8dpo.

These groups really help me get through the days, love reading everyone's stories

After looking for ages I found a more well established Facebook group for June! Sorry ladies.

Best of luck everyone xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 11/06/2020 17:16

Just marking my spot. I'll be testing earlier on 4th July as short cycles over here. Will catch up on msgs after work. Long day today!

PippaRoo88 · 11/06/2020 17:09

@MintGreenLife thank you so much for your reply!
I've tried not to get too obsessed with it but clearly I haven't been doing a good job, so figured I may as well go full in and try and work out exact ovulation days.
They should arrive tomorrow so will start taking them when af ends and see what happens.

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 16:57

@LottieX I have been fearful that perhaps I'm not ovulating yet because of stopping the pill. I stopped in April, had a withdrawal bleed a few days later, then AF 30 days later, so this is my 2nd cycle off the pill. As you say across this cycle I had 3 LH surges, not quite any of them positive, and no clear temp rise. Hopefully things might be clearer for the next cycle, and I have read it can take your body a few months to sort itself out. Must try and remind myself it's normal if things are all over the place again next cycle.

Sounds like your cycle might have sorted itself out for you now? Wishing you lots of luck for this cycle :) x

Hi @PippaRoo88 welcome to the new thread :) I'm sure many of us will have a positive outcome by mid July! So sorry to hear you felt so rubbish about AF, this is my first cycle and I know I'll feel sad when she arrives. Think the only plus side is a new cycle and so a new chance to conceive, but can understand it might not feel like that when 6 cycles in. Oh wow you've been super chilled then. I started using OPKs on CD6 and tracking BBT too, all on my first cycle..so much less chilled ha.

I read in a book about TTC that they are best done around 2pm, but the peak I got this cycle was at 11am, and by 3pm it was fading again. Think I'm probably one of those women that gets a very sudden surge and no build up so easy to miss. Would suggest as this will be your first time using them to start daily when AF finishes and test twice when you do start to see the lines get darker. I use them with the Premom app and take a photo of them on there daily - it gives me a reading in numbers in terms of how high the LH levels are, so takes the guess work out x

OP posts:
LottieX · 11/06/2020 16:52

@mintgreenlife you know how your charts were all over the place this months with late LH peaks, I'm thinking that since I stopped taking the pill in Dec that this was the first cycle I've actually properly ovulated. When did you stop using contraception?

I've tested with OPKs since Feb and the first month I got no smileys or peaks, March I left it, April I got a high result but no peak and then the May cycle I've got the solid smiley and two strong days of peak LH. I'm thinking that if that's the case then I'm only going on to cycle 2! Positive vibes for this one 🤞🏻

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 16:49

@ForeverHopeful67 surely at least one of us will be proven wrong, as several of us seem to be feeling like AF will come. Fingers crossed :)

PippaRoo88 · 11/06/2020 16:48

Hi I followed the last thread. Hoping this month for a better result. Af showed up yesterday and it hit me hard, really struggled yesterday. I was ok until my partner asked if af had showed and then it all crumbled. Sobbed for about an hour or so! 6 cycles and I've never reacted like that. But have lifted my chin and picked myself up, ordered some opk strips to see when I am actually ovulating. I've never used them before so any tips will be greatly appreciated 😊

MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 16:48

Thanks @fafi :) hopefully we will get a few more BFP!

OP posts:
MintGreenLife · 11/06/2020 16:47

@fashu fingers crossed you do get your BFP on a FRER, but if not at least you're ready for the next cycle :) a few days ago I felt so sure I would get a BFP, but now I'm sure AF will be here soon.

Awesome thanks, think I will do the cheapies from CD8 and then cover the middle of my cycle with a cheap OPK and CB. This cycle I didn't get a positive OPK until CD20 x

OP posts:
ForeverHopeful67 · 11/06/2020 16:45

@Juno231 will defo keep you posted on how things progress in the next few days! Although I'm with @MintGreenLife in feeling that AF may rear her ugly head shortly as I've been feeling bloated, tired and crampy all day!

Everything crossed that we're proven wrong 🤞 X

fafi · 11/06/2020 16:44

Hi all!

If any of you do get a BFP over the next few days I have made a facebook group for the February Party!
