@Aokbaby @Tilly1403 @Hoping41 I'm taking the pregnacare pre-conception too. I think you can start them at any time.
My periods were alot heavier before starting the pill too. I was on it a long time, but have been off it a good few years now too and AF is still light. Maybe only 2 days of bleeding and then spotting. Only time I wouldn't mind having heavier periods.
Hi @introv3rt Welcome to the group. Sorry AF arrived for you today.

Nat4392 · 06/06/2020 15:40

@Aokbaby I’ve been using it for a few months and no BFP but I’ll continue to use it as I never notice much EWCM.

Aokbaby · 06/06/2020 15:33

Hi @Annny27 we've been using the fertlitiy friendly lube from Ann summers and it definitely helps, might try pre seed for this upcoming cycle, thanks

Annny27 · 06/06/2020 15:26

@aokbaby we use preseed but just as normal lube not inserting it with the applicators

Aokbaby · 06/06/2020 15:23

Has anyone tried using pre seed? Would you recommend?

Twinkletoes85 · 06/06/2020 15:07

Welcome @introv3rt this is a lovely group 😊

Have you been taking any supplements or anything?

That's interesting reading about blood flow for af. I was on the depo for maybe 18 months and I think my periods have been lighter. I wasn't on any birth control for maybe a year before that and I'm sure my flow was heavier (how quickly you forget) and I'd been on the pill for years before coming off the first time.

They do say with the depo to expect everything to take longer. Ttc with my ex we just dtd once a week (don't ask) and I didn't track anything so I think we probably missed almost every chance.

@Hoping41 I started mine mid cycle too x

Tilly1403 · 06/06/2020 14:54

@Hoping41 I started mine mid cycle, mainly started taking them because folic acid was out of stock and that was on a deal in Superdrug!

introv3rt · 06/06/2020 14:40

Hello :) can I join? Started AF today so will be going on to my 9th Cycle TTC first baby. Im 26 and came off the pill in October. Cycles range between 26-30 days.

Hoping41 · 06/06/2020 14:23

Or should I buy them to start asap?

Hoping41 · 06/06/2020 14:20

@tilly1403!& @aokbaby that sounds very similar to mine then. I'll buy some once af is here - they are 3for2 in boots so that's something!

Fez148 · 06/06/2020 14:16

@Swifty2 so sorry af arrived. Agree about coffee and alcohol, doing the same. I need to be careful about chocolate - i only like dark and that is borderline on caffeine i believe!

Tilly1403 · 06/06/2020 14:14

@aokbaby I've just turned 34, TTC for the first time. Before this last couple of months it was very light, dark brown blood but the last couple of months have been heavier and more 'normal' (I know it's all normal, but more what I was expecting). Flow seems to be fairly consistent for the 4-5 days I'm on now as well. GP has just said it takes a while.for things to settle down after the pill so it might just be that, mines taken nearly a year even though most websites say around 3 months so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Aokbaby · 06/06/2020 14:04

@Tilly1403 was on the pill about 13 years and came off in Jan, I expected everything to go back to normal much quicker too. Maybe tmi but is your bleeding normal or just when you use toilet as well? Could also be an age thing I've just turned 33 and this is my first time TTC, what about you?

Aokbaby · 06/06/2020 14:01

@Hoping41 hey, well I came off the pill in Jan and af were very light, some days brown spotting only with maybe 2 days max bleeding and even then it was bright red. Also I was only bleeding when passing urine. Last cycle and this one (currently finishing up af) blood is much thicker, dark red and feels like a 'proper period' if you know what I mean. Seems similar to af before starting pill approx 13 years ago, well what I can remember. I'm still mainly bleeding when passing urine, with little on the pad, but I've noticed more on the pad this month. That's my experience anyway and I haven't changed anything other than taking pregnacare for 2months so not sure if it's because of the tablets but I feel like my body was probably lacking in something up until starting them?

Tilly1403 · 06/06/2020 13:57

@Aokbaby I've been taking those too. Before going on the pill (a million years ago!) I used to have really heavy periods (part of the reason I went on the pill was to manage them) so I was expecting that all to return when I came off, but no I've had the opposite - unnervingly light and short periods (been off the pill about a year now). The last two months have been heavier for me too! Hadn't thought about if it was to do with the supliments, but may well be as it seems to have matched up with taking those. How long have you been off the pill?

My GP basically said to expect how my periods were before the Pill to return, but it's been the complete opposite. Anyone else had a similar experience? Do you think it's just getting older?? Confusing!

Hoping41 · 06/06/2020 13:47

Oh, I've just had a look. They covet a lot of my other tablets so it would reduce the amount I take. The Male one has maca in it too which I've just been researching. Thank you!

Hoping41 · 06/06/2020 13:44

@aokbaby I might look into those vitamins too then. I've been off the pill for a year now and usually have 3 day periods (although only the middle day is proper period) and last month it was only 2 days. Do you think that might be decreasing my chances?

Hoping41 · 06/06/2020 13:42

@swifty2 sorry to hear af is here. It must be really tough having something else thrown into the mix that can lessen your chances.

I'm 5dpo, just felt my cervix which, yesterday was high and soft but today is low and hard. I know it's still early but I kind of feel that's me out this month too! Looks like all the vitamins in my Amazon basket will get bought after all!!

Aokbaby · 06/06/2020 12:53

@PinkFlamingoGirl how are you finding pregnacare conception, I'm on my second month taking them. Definitely noticed that af has been heavier the past 2 cycles so I'm taking that as a good sign they are doing something good. Af has been very light since coming off pill and I was worrying I wasn't ovulating. Has this happened to you?

Fifol · 06/06/2020 12:27

@Swifty2 sorry about af.

@PinkFlamingoGirl fingers crossed for you! The second half of tww is the the hardest I think so keeping yourself busy is a good plan!

Thanks everyone for supplement recommendations!

Swifty2 · 06/06/2020 12:16

@Twinkletoes85 @DSC1 thank you both!
I never imagined it would be this difficult - I don't really have many of the typical symptoms! And at least I have something to blame when things arent going my way! I feel for ladies TTC without knowing if there is anything wrong 💕 this journey is tough on us all

Twinkletoes85 · 06/06/2020 12:12

@Swifty2 sorry to hear af has arrived, I don't know much about pcos but it sounds quite difficult to live with, especially ttc. Finishing the wine sounds like a good plan for today!

@Swifty2 sorry to hear AF has arrived... sounds like a good plan to DTD every other day. Fingers crossed for you that this is your cycle.

Swifty2 · 06/06/2020 11:18

@PinkFlamingoGirl I've never seen ov so late before (29dpo this month, usually it's about 20dpo). Tbh my body does something different every single month, I assume it's the PCOS! My OH and I had a chat this morning and have decided to dtd every other day this month, regardless of when my fertility app tells me is the right time! I don't think I can trust opk or bbt because of the PCOS. I know women with PCOS can get LH surges multiple times a month! This will be cycle 8 of TTC...here we go again! Smile
