Hi guys! Just wanted to start a new thread and meet others on the journey of TTC baby #1. I am 32, super nervous and have recently started to use Clear Blue OPKs so would love to hear about others journeys! X

@2020mission I only started using Flo about 2 months in as it seemed to have better reviews than Clue but thought I’d run both side by side for a while. Flo has far more ‘symptoms’ etc so I think I prefer it. I need to look into OPKs that’s next on my list 🤣 I seem to only be able to handle one new thing a month at the minute!

@PabsyPops apparently it’s not that unheard of 🤣 went for a normal appointment to have it removed at my GP when it was due to expire (where I had it inserted etc). They couldn’t find it and I hadn’t tried to at all throughout as I’m rather squeamish & the thought of locating it myself just makes me 🤢 ! They then referred me to another clinic who I guess deal with this more often and they had a good old rummage and failed too. I was then advised it wouldn’t be the end of the world if it never came out as it’ll do no harm (which still makes me squirm to this day haha!) ive read stories of them ending up further down and around your body than you ever realise and that was enough to put me off and I left it at that!

So glad I’ve found this as I have no one IRL to speak to (I realise I could I just don’t want the added pressure I guess) x

Welcome @J0202 how on earth does an implant go missing? 😂 this TTC business is all so confusing and ends up not being that fun!

I am only 6 DPO today but I feel weirdly sick!! Surely I'm not getting symptoms so early on? I have also got VERY slight sore boobs xx

Flittingabout · 10/06/2020 10:16

Yes welcome :)

I have tried OPKs on and off but not for ages as it was stressing me out more.

I will try the app recommendations on the previous page I hadnt heard of.

Thanks all. Lovely to have support.

2020mission · 10/06/2020 10:14

@J0202 👋🏻 welcome. I'm only tracking using apps so you're not alone there. This is my 4th cycle trying though might end up using OPKs if I have more cycles without success.

2020mission · 10/06/2020 10:12

@Flittingabout yess I have backing now to test early on the 15th and I won't feel like I'm being bad not waiting 😆 👍🏼

J0202 · 10/06/2020 10:12

Hi All,

Hope you don’t mind another one joining..

I’m 32, UK & TTC baby #1 since March so not long.

As each month goes by I’m slowly learning more and more it’s a minefield!

I thought I had regular periods after the implant ended (wasn’t removed as it had well and truly vanished) a few years ago but every time my periods settle into a routine something comes along and sends them crazy!

I completely missed a period in April, tested after about 2 weeks late but BFN I suspect the chaos of the last few months was the reason.

Tracking using 2 apps - Flo & Clue (which show 2 different things!) and feel very much like I’m winging this whole process..

Trying not to let it consume my life whilst equally trying to make sure I’m doing what I should be doing!

Peach1204 · 10/06/2020 10:08

@Flittingabout thank you. My cycle is 28 days and I don't ovulate the same day every month according to the Flo app anyway. We have been DTD every other day anyway just to cover ourselves as it was a different day on a different app. I don't use them but could OPKs be more accurate? Xxx

Flittingabout · 10/06/2020 10:03

That would be a wonderful surprise for a father to be!

Has anyone found any solution to the mystery of timings? When I spoke to the doctor about it they said that I would likely ovulate the same day thereabouts every cycle. But nothing on here suggests that is true as people have kindly shared their app data and it can vary by 10 days some cycles!

Is the only solution to have sex every other day for 3 weeks?!?

Peach1204 · 10/06/2020 09:51

@Flittingabout oh no! My issue is more myself as I want to tell DH Father's Day so I think I'll just have to make sure I have that morning wee for the next 5 days and then I think I'll be able to keep it quiet next week. I don't want to ruin the surprise if there is one! Xxx

Flittingabout · 10/06/2020 09:43

@2020mission

I think I read here that on average a test shows as positive from day 13 onwards so there is a chance you might be ok for a 15th test I think?

@Peach1204

Haha I have done similar before! I also got confused as one brand said afternoon urine was better!

Peach1204 · 10/06/2020 08:02

My willpower is deteriorating! To the point that I've opened 2 pregnancy test boxes but then when I read the instructions it says to use first urine of the day if testing before missed period so I can't do it today. I'm not going to make it to Thursday next week (4 days after AF is due) which was my original plan so I don't give anything away. I think I'll have to do Monday if AF doesn't show on Sunday. Bloody TWW! 😂 thought I'd be more chilled out then this! Xxx

2020mission · 08/06/2020 17:46

@PabsyPops @Flittingabout so true, I haven't tried to symptom spot because on my first attempt I had a chemical and had no symptoms different from any other month so I know there isn't anything to indicate it's happened for me until the test! This does lead me to testing earlier though 🙃

I'm not due AF until the 19th but I've got plans for the 15th involving drinks so I'm going to have to test on the 15th... just to make sure I'm ok to drink

Flittingabout · 08/06/2020 06:30

And so it begins then ladies! I am tracking CM and think I am on for ovulation in a couple of days.

I go through phases of waiting for AF and other months POAS on day 12 or 13 or 14 (i.e. supposedly feeling enough symptoms to test!)

What I have learnt from these boards is that pretty much anything can be a symptom of pregnancy or a period haha

And doesn't that just mess with our minds?!

PabsyPops · 07/06/2020 22:17

@2020mission I'm currently 3/4 DPO and not feeling any different so far!! The TWW is so annoying 🤣

OP posts:
2020mission · 07/06/2020 16:30

How are you all getting on? I've just reached the last day of the fertile window according to the Ovia app so now starting the wait... can't really call it the 2WW as I know I'm going to end up testing in less than 2 weeks (any day from 15th I reckon).

Flittingabout · 05/06/2020 20:22

We do it at night once a week maybe. Usually in the mornings or now WFH on lunch breaks too.

2020mission · 05/06/2020 17:35

Morning or afternoon/early evenings here. Too tired at night these days 😆

PabsyPops · 05/06/2020 17:15

Probably a silly question but do you all DTD at the same time of day or vary it? We tend to at night only and wondering if to switch it up a bit!! 😂

OP posts:
Peach1204 · 05/06/2020 06:33

@PabsyPops AF is due 14th but I'd like to tell him on Father's Day if it happens this month and I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for that long so maybe the Friday before (19th). I would be so tempted if I'm late though! Xxx

Flittingabout · 05/06/2020 01:04

Hi ladies I am almost 36 and been trying for nearly 2 years now for my first.

Definitely losing the ability to just relax that people who conceive quickly love to recommend!

2020mission · 05/06/2020 00:54

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for sharing what you’re doing too, you’ve all made me feel much better now 😅

@PabsyPops AF is due for me on the 20th June so aiming to test then too 👍🏼 although I have a tendency to use a cheapie test a few days before. I will try and hold off though!

PabsyPops · 04/06/2020 22:14

@2020mission @Peach1204 when would you be both be testing? I think I would be around 20th June - it's my husbands birthday is 25th so would be a nice birthday present for him! ❤️

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/06/2020 22:13

We were doing every other day in fertile window then every 2/3 around it @2020mission. As @Peach1204 says, I think every 2nd is enough and good for sperm quality!

2020mission · 04/06/2020 21:39

@Peach1204 ohh I hope that’s true if so it’s a good thing we’ve missed out today 🤞 I’ll be joining you both for the 2WW this weekend. Let’s hope it’s a quick fortnight for us all

Peach1204 · 04/06/2020 21:33

@PabsyPops I'm in my TWW as well (or so I think looking at the apps 😂) and fit my positive pants on but only 2nd cycle so don't want to be too hopefully! Xxx

@2020mission going with the every other day approach at the moment. We were doing everyday but by day 4 it was a bit pants. Heard every other day means better quality sperm? Hoping that's correct. Xxx
