Just want AF to arrive so new cycle can begin...

AF due in 3 days.

Am sure I'm out this month - negative FRER today and I have the usual PMS acne.

Just want my period to come already so that I can get this useless cycle over with and have a commiseration beer.

Just frustrating as have been taking pre-conception vitamins for months, cut out caffeine, no alcohol during TWW, have DTD every other day, tracked ovulation and with no success.

Anyone else fancy a moan whilst waiting for AF to show up?

How is everyone getting on? 😊 I’ve now had a really weird month where for first time in 6 months of testing I’ve got no positive OPK but deffo got the whole barrage O symptoms including an awesome headache and nausea 😞 really strange after having a shortened period last month, wondering if my body is skipping a cycle

Fran2020 · 03/06/2020 22:09

@LS2020 definitely! 🤞🏼

LS2020 · 02/06/2020 07:59

@mrswilso a wander sounds lovely, deffo taking myself out for one tonight! And same, turned it all off on my Fitbit and just going to aim for every 2 days 😊

@Fran2020 yes lots of lovely BFPs for us all this month!!

Fran2020 · 01/06/2020 21:21

@LS2020 awww, i know it's hard but need to think positively! 😊 I've had nothing close to a BFP either. Definitely, let's both am to stay as relaxed as possible!!

mrswilso · 01/06/2020 20:19

Oh my God yessss @CaribouCarafe ! I agree - I'm much more chilled out today, even tried to sneak a quickie in before work (hubby was too sleepy, whaaaat!?) which NEVER really pops into my head normally on a workday!
And I'm excited to start trying again this cycle! I was a bit crazy and in denial after the first cycle with my bfn that I didn't let myself enjoy the trying as much last month - too much thinking in hindsight.

I'm planning on not trying to figure out if/when I ovulate this month and just DTD every second day (at least!) all the way through.

CaribouCarafe · 01/06/2020 20:07

@mrswilso a wander in the woods sounds lovely! I'm living abroad in a desert so massively envious!!

I think we will all be symptom spotting in a couple weeks time again Grin. Currently am just enjoying being on AF as I feel more sane than I did for the majority of last month!

Weeeeell AF arrived this afternoon so I'll definitely be here over-obsessing again in about a week and a half haha! 😂

Hope you've all had a good day!

Sorry I've been quiet over the weekend - decided to go out for a massive wander in the woods in the sunshine to get some fresh air and switch off.

LS2020 · 01/06/2020 19:12

@Ughmaybenot sorry to hear that for your business but hopefully it’ll pick up as it seems like most people are being able to rebook them and they’ll start planning again soon! If you work for the NHS I think you can get fast tracked for GP referrals so hopefully that may help too

@Fran2020 I’m exactly the same, on my worst days I feel like I’d even accept a miscarriage so I’d know that it is physically possible to get pregnant, not had one whiff of a BFP 😞 yeah I’ve reinstalled my headspace app and loaded up on a couple of bottles of wine! 😂

Fran2020 · 01/06/2020 10:39

@LS2020 Yeah that's true! I think I will probably be more relaxed when it does happen as right now I keep feeling like there is something wrong with me. It looks like AF has arrived now, so positive thoughts for our 12th month!! I need to stay as relaxed as possible this month then 😊

Ughmaybenot · 01/06/2020 09:20

@LS2020 I think I will. I’ll give it another month I think, and then ring back if I still feel the same about it all. Well I thought the same thing, your body changes all the time, so surely that ultrasound wouldn’t be any use at all by now. I don’t know, I’m not medically trained I guess!
Oh gosh that sounds awful!! Glad you’re well again now, how horrendous.
Ah that’s not ideal at all, sorry it’s affected you like that! Yeah, I did wonder whether it’s maybe being made a little worse than normal through stress. I don’t feel particularly stressed but I started a new job in March working for the NHS, my husband and I have made some huge financial commitments with our business and my own business has taken a big hit as it’s wedding-related. All adds up doesn’t it?

LS2020 · 01/06/2020 08:11

@Fran2020 I’m hoping because my stress is more impatience driven that when I am, I’ll just be so excited to meet them and enjoy the time that it will chill me out more but who knows as you say!
Tbf I do think there’s something in when you’re relaxed and not thinking about it, like my friend who struggled for over a year got pregnant on the month she moved home and got two dogs but how do you ever switch off from it when you’ve made the choice?!

Fran2020 · 31/05/2020 21:12

@LS2020 I'm hoping that too! But I've been like this TTC so who knows haha! Yeah I've heard of a few accidents too. It's hard 😔

LS2020 · 31/05/2020 21:10

@ughmaybenot yeah I guess at the moment it’s maybe not the best climate but deffo when things start to get a bit more normal, I would try again 😊
Yeah that’s a bit of a strange comment when like they wouldn’t use my bloods from previous month etc cos the info is out of date? I mean I guess it’s good if it was clear that it’s likely not being caused by something obstructive but bodies change so think you’re right to ask again!
Thanks, yeah I ended up hospitalised for a week so that was the point they had to take me seriously I guess. The only good thing was I had a similar internal ultrasound and they didn’t see anything on that so gave me some reassurance with everything.
I deffo think there’s something up with the stress of the current covid situation for me though because I was like 27 day clockwork and now I’m all over the place, my AF has completely stopped now and I normally last at least 5 days 🤷‍♀️

Ughmaybenot · 31/05/2020 20:46

@LS2020 that’s exactly it. Yea, honestly I was surprised too, but I guess given the current situation, they’re trying to limit f2f appointments. I don’t know what to say about it, I had an ultrasound a few years back and he sort of referred to that as reassuring because it was all completely clear, but that was several years ago?
Jeez that sounds tough, but sounds like you definitely did the right thing pushing it.

LS2020 · 31/05/2020 20:41

@Ughmaybenot yeah and at least you can work around them a bit more. I’m really surprised the GP isnt keen on doing much, I thought if they’re outside the 23-35 day window then it counted as another condition so maybe you could try another GP?
One of the reasons we didn’t start to this year was I kept getting recurrent bladder and kidney infections and then the antibiotics would make me get thrush and I put my foot down with my GP and said I wanted to be referred to a gynaecologist and they were so helpful when I got referred sometimes that’s just the way you have to be with them and then you can have a bit more reassurance too. I was so guilty of when they would tell me to go away and just take some more tablets and I would be worried about going back and in long run I wish I hadn’t because I suffered for months because I was too afraid to push for it.

@Fran2020 I’m really hoping I won’t stress as much when I’m actually pregnant but I don’t know who I’m kidding 😂 Yeah my boss has just announced his fiancé is having a baby and admitted it was an accident and it hurts so much that people who weren’t even planning kids are having them before me!

Fran2020 · 31/05/2020 19:48

@LS2020 exactly and the nhs website is so much more reliable. I worry too which increases the longer it's taking! Going to worry so much when I actually am pregnant. Will definitely want to go for an early scan. I know what you mean, I want a baby so much and so many baby announcements all over social media. Lots getting pregnant immediately too! 😔

Ughmaybenot · 31/05/2020 19:38

@LS2020 they varied, anywhere from 16 days to 70+. I kind of wish they were always just long, at least then I’d know, you know what I mean? Exactly, it’s so frustrating, I just feel stuck in limbo, just not going anywhere! Thanks, I’ll take a look 😊

LS2020 · 31/05/2020 19:35

@Ughmaybenot were they so long when you were on the coil? I think there’s a few threads for women with long cycles and I know there’s various supplements on there so there might be something you can find to help it be more regular. It must be so frustrating because even with AF, at least you know to get a chance again 😞

@Fran2020 I know and I know people who conceived just fine after a year don’t know why I’m such a stress head!! The nhs website literally says if you don’t conceive in year 1, half of people do in year 2 so there’s still good chances. It’s just something we’ve wanted for so long now and it’s so hard seeing friends pop out kids left and right 😞

Fran2020 · 31/05/2020 19:29

@dogmam AF is due around Tuesday but spotting has started today. But I'm staying positive until AF properly starts but it's not looking likely for a BFP this month. I'm sick of thinking that too!

@CaribouCarafe Thanks! Would be good to conceive within the 12 months but I'm going to get a doctors appointment booked as a back up too.

@LS2020 I'm trying not to read any articles like that as I'm sure it's not necessarily right. Plus everyone's different 😊 just have to keep positive for us!

mrswilso · 31/05/2020 18:56

@cariboucarafe Oops! Sorry! I had caught up on a couple of other threads too and got my wires crossed, silly me!

Ughmaybenot · 31/05/2020 15:20

@dogmam I am, but there’s not really been anything so far this time, it’s so weird! Driving me mad!

@CaribouCarafe oh I’d love that to be the case, but I think it’s unlikely this time. But thank you 😊

@LS2020 yeah, I’ve definitely heard that about hormonal contraceptives. My coil was non hormonal so really shouldn’t have had an effect, I’ve always been a bit irregular! I did speak to a dr but they had little to say about it really!

LS2020 · 31/05/2020 14:15

@Ughmaybenot oh what a pain! I was on depo for 10 years and it took a little while to get back to regular so hopefully they’ll settle soon!

@Fran2020 sorry to hear that. We came off contraception in July last year and while we only properly started this year that looming anniversary feels tough to deal with. I also read some awful article a few weeks about chances after 6 months which I know must be wrong now but that sticks with me all the time.

@CaribouCarafe omg I’ve not had party rings in forever, what a meal!

Hope you all take some time to have a good glass of wine in the sun today!

CaribouCarafe · 31/05/2020 12:54

@Littlebee1990 I second the recommendation for a birthday drink! Hope you have a fun day and plenty of cake Smile

@LS2020 the chocolate-filled pity party sounds like me - I had Party Rings and Wine for dinner Grin. Ended up being pretty pleasant in the end!

@dogmam I'm now using both Flo and Premom, not that I'm convinced either is helping that much at the moment!

@Ughmaybenot - hi there! Sounds horrendous - hope you either get a BFP or AF finally arrives so that you can get started again with a new cycle (obviously am mostly hoping for the BFP!).

@Fran2020 sorry to hear that, odds are that next month will be your month though! There's a 90% chance of conception by the end of a year so fingers crossed!

@mrswilso ooh did someone get a BFP? I missed that! Congrats to whoever did!

dogmam · 31/05/2020 12:43

@littlebee1990 ah what a way to start your birthday 🖕but at least you can have a birthday drink! Fresh start for June though!

@ughmaybenot ahh man that sounds awful, hopefully AF will become more regular in the coming months. Are you tracking ovulation?

@fran2020 ahh man! When's AF due? I know how you feel about thinking it would happen straight away. Sick of thinking ahhh a December baby, ahh a January baby etc etc.

@mrswilso yeah, try and hold off until after AF due, if you can. Fingers crossed you're not out this month.

Hope everyone's enjoying the sun today.

mrswilso · 31/05/2020 11:03

Congratulations to all the BFPs!
And fingers crossed for next month for everyone else ✨

I'm around 11/12dpo today and got a BFN on FRER with FMU yesterday but still no sign of AF - due tomorrow. I'm gonna hold off and see if she shows before I try another test...

I'm also slightly suspicious that I may have ovulated later than I thought this month - I don't use OPK or BBT, just track with apps and Fitbit RHR. Will keep you all posted!
