TTC after MC - June 2020

SmileyT · 21/05/2020 19:55

I'm 31 TTC #1 after a MC in March this year, AF has just finished and I'm on CD6 and all ready to go for my 2nd full cycle.

This month I will be tracking with opks, CB connected, BBT and following SMEP plan.

@MichT4 yeah on furlough from my old job (luckily!) as I was due to start my new job just as this all kicked off so start date got delayed. They said they are looking at end of June/beginning of July to go in. Xx

@elliew818 thank you 😊

elliew818 · 09/06/2020 08:42

@MissyBate yeah if someone hasn't gone through it they don't understand. If you can hold out longer I would, but it depends how you are - I hate seeing a BFN and last pregnancy tested roughly 10dpo and got BFN then 4 days later a BFP so it messes with my head too much. But as long as you prepare yourself for both outcomes then 12dpo should be enough for your HCG to have risen.
Glad you got your flashy @VP91x and hope you get your elusive static this month!
@MichT4 I can sympathise with the hay fever, I get it really badly and haven't been able to take medication since 2016 due to TTC, pregnancy and breastfeeding so I kind of just sneeze and bear it now!

MichT4 · 09/06/2020 08:41

@VP91x are you on furlough at the moment? Do you know when you’re likely to go back? xx

MichT4 · 09/06/2020 08:40

@VP91x I know what you mean, I might go to the office a few days over the next few weeks - keeps my mind occupied a bit more than working at home.

I feel positive about this month too 🌈🌈🤞🏼🤞🏼

VP91x · 09/06/2020 08:32

@MichT4 yeah normally for the strip OPKs it says to use after 11am. After I got my peak I did test with FMU too to see when my line was going back to negative. It still came up strong actually until later the next day after my peak.

CB sticks you are meant to use FMU - you can test more once you get a flashy but I will start with my femometer ones and when they get darker I will test more with the CB

Hope that made sense!?

Oh no! I hope your hayfever gets better or at least less annoying. I'm looking forward to going back to work need that routine.

Doing okay today! Feeling positive about this month xx

MichT4 · 09/06/2020 08:23

@VP91x Well if my lines are anything to go by, I might be ovulating sooner than previous months too - fingers crossed! Or it's another cruel trick Hmm. We might be cycle buddies this month.

I'm fine thank you, suffering with hayfever today and on a nice early Zoom call with my boss - what a lovely start for a Tuesday Shock. I haven't tested today as I read it should be between 11-8 or something, not FMU. Is that right? Once again consumed by POAS.

How are you? xx

VP91x · 09/06/2020 08:06

@MichT4 it will most definitely get stamped on if it flashes at me until the end of time 😂😂

How are you today lovely xxx

MichT4 · 09/06/2020 07:58

@VP91x hooray for the flashing smiley. I hope that doesn’t flash at you for another 10 days, or I can foresee a CB holder making its way out of a window!
Enjoy DTD 🍆💦 xx

VP91x · 09/06/2020 07:52

@Rainbowhope11 haha we also had some time off post-OV and then obviously AF came. Glad you're refreshed 😏😏

Yeah, I thought I was in for a longer wait for FW. I had low on CB stick yesterday and last month I had 3/4 days of those before it went flashy. BUT, it went flashy this morning! So better get down to it today.. Im CD 10 so was going to start SMEP anyway.

Last month I didn't OV until CD21 so will be amazing to have an early ovulation OR CB is going to flash at me endlessly.

@SmileyT I think CB might be out to get me 🤔😂

Rainbowhope11 · 09/06/2020 04:36

@Hayleylou89 beautiful photo!! 💕 so thrilled for you! Hope you are doing okay minus the vomiting! 😊

Rainbowhope11 · 09/06/2020 04:34

@VP91x it still looks dark to me. I will see what happens with my temps in the morning. But still keen to dtd 😂 we had a week and a bit off after we thought I had ovulated a few weeks ago, so we are refreshed and recharged 😂😂 Are you waiting for FW?

mrsssk · 09/06/2020 00:34

@MissyBate I hope you also have friends who understand and support you. I have had a few "at least I know I can get pregnant" comments which felt awful. None of us would be here if we hadn't been able to get pregnant 🙄

MissyBate · 08/06/2020 23:11

I just think my friend just didn’t see my baby as a real person which is why she couldn’t understand the funeral. So many people were shocked I had to give birth too. I suppose it’s just peoples lack of understanding and experiences. Still feels shit though.

@elliew818 I’m going to test on Friday which will be 12 dpo. AF is due on Sunday. Do you think that’s a bit soon to test?

elliew818 · 08/06/2020 22:47

And @Jazper you're totally right, symptom spotting really is a fool's errand, yet it sucks me in every time...currently trying to tell myself that I haven't had a full cycle since January so any symptom is my body's way of resuming a normal cycle.

elliew818 · 08/06/2020 22:42

@Jazper I understand as I'm sure many ladies here do. For me I just feel physically and emotionally empty sometimes. After my first MC I got pregnant with DS after 5 months and you're right that's not very long compared to others but it felt like a lifetime to me. Also I think I maybe would have wanted to punch your friend for ever saying a MC could be a blessing! Here's hoping your cycle gets back on track this month 🤞
@MissyBate that's awful somebody said that to you! And hope AF doesn't come, will you test this week?

VP91x · 08/06/2020 21:52

@MissyBate wow, I can't believe your GP said that but also agree with @Jazper it is horrendous what your friend said! I'm sorry you were unsupported in that way.

Sometimes it is best that people don't say anything isn't it xx

Jazper · 08/06/2020 21:40

@MissyBate
That is an awful thing for your GP to have said. Sadly though, I am not surprised. Your friend however.... that is absolutely unbelievable! Begs belief!
On the period pain thing. It could be that, or it could be stretching to accommodate a beautifully nestled little baba. Try not to symptom spot though. I absolutely convinced myself this cycle that I was pregnant. I was sure of it. I was awake at 3am this morning with heart burn. Yet here I am today with my period.
I am going to try my absolute hardest next cycle to not read in to anything. The disappointment is unbearable.
Sending you so much baby dust. Hopefully they are positive pains that you are feeling xx

MissyBate · 08/06/2020 21:26

My period isn’t due until Sunday but I’ve got the worst period pains today. Maybe it’s my body’s way of being kind and saying ‘don’t get your hopes up!’

MissyBate · 08/06/2020 21:24

@Jazper My GP said the same thing to me when I rang for a sicknote. Apparently all the Covid stuff would put my loss in to perspective. I’m still waiting!!!!

People say the worst things...often without realising. It really does make you think how, if only one good thing can come out of losing a baby, it is that we’ll know exactly what not to say to someone. My friend said she couldn’t believe we ‘had to have a funeral’. 😔

Jazper · 08/06/2020 21:00

Thank you @Niisa, much appreciated.

@Dipsy77 SMEP was pretty hard going last month, we managed it until the day of ov, and then it trailed off. In fairness, we are generally a very highly sexed couple, but so much of it in lockdown with three children around that are passed napping age, and a 4 year old who doesn't believe bedtime should exist, was really bloody hard. It was anything but romantic for sure! 😂😂
But yes, I can imagine a shorter cycle may be a little more manageable.
Well I am due on 9th July IF my cycle is the same again but I really do hope it goes back to pre mc regularity. But cycle buddies for sure, we're not too far off one another ☺️

Jazper · 08/06/2020 20:52

@elliew818 thank you. I am three months ttc post mc now. Which, I know isn't a long time in comparison to other lovely ladies on other threads, but you're right, it really doesn't get any easier. In fact, I think it's getting harder?! It took 4 months pre mc but having experienced the loss of our baby, the need, the want, to be pregnant again and feel that little life inside of me once again is all consuming. Even more so than before 😔

Sorry to hear of the insensitive things your parents said to you. It is bitter sweet however that you can relate it to being more generational and lack of understanding than callousness. I think sometimes people don't know what to say... I mc in Feb, and a little while later, a friend said to me, 'you know, I've been thinking, it's probably a blessing you lost it what with coronavirus going on...'. I wanted to tell her that nothing of what I went through could ever, will ever, be classed as a blessing. But you ladies understand that, I know... xx

Hayleylou89 · 08/06/2020 20:46

Thanks for all ur lovely comments, iv had a day of vomitting to celebrate my healthy scan 😂

Welcome to all the newbies iv stuck around in here as i would love to see some more bfps this month as so many people have supported me to get where im at now and stay sain xx

Cnt wait until a few of you are testing is anyone really soon to test? X 🌈💙💖

HE88 · 08/06/2020 20:17

Hi to all the new ladies so sorry about your losses I hope you find this group very supportive 😊. Xx

Sorry to those that af came. Xx

@2020wish yay for your peak happy dtd. Xx

@Hayleylou89 so happy to hear that everything went well at your scan today 😁. Xx

VP91x · 08/06/2020 19:59

@elliew818 ahh, well I hope you're feeling okay!?

@MichT4 looks like you're definitely on the way to your peak. I would test every 4hrs or so, or like 3 times a day because it will peak quickly. Exciting times!!

@Niisa 😂😂 makes me giggle

@Rainbowhope11 glad you are well! Yeah doing okay over here, just waiting (im)patiently, haha. Did your OPK go back to light? You'll definitely be covered with all that DTD 💦💦 xx

Rainbowhope11 · 08/06/2020 19:23

@VP91x hi lovely! I'm good thank you, how are you feeling? I've been dtd every day since my opk went dark, getting lots of ewcm and this morning my temp dropped. Hopefully it shoots back up over the next few days so I know that I ovulated. But maybe I'll get a period instead😂 who knows😂 Im quite clueless as to what my body is up to post mc.
