Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@VenusStarr Yes of course hopefully you won't need it. I was just wondering if that's what the progesterone is for. Sorry I've probably not read previous posts properly 🙈 Hope you don't mind me asking heart 💗

Hope everyone has a good weekend and good luck if you are joining a new thread x

Esssa · 17/07/2020 22:08

@marmitecheesetoast Sakura and I are on a pregnancy after mmc thread. I know that isn't why you are here but there would be 2 friendly faces you already know if you wanted to join us. Or I'm happy to join another thread with you.

marmitecheesetoast · 17/07/2020 20:24

Thank you @VenusStarr ❤️

@Esssa @Sakura54 what do you think about taking some of this chat to a very tentative pregnancy after loss thread?

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 20:00

Brilliant news @Sakura54 ❤️ I also have a tilted uterus and it's arcuate, so looks like a rounded heart. So pleased to hear all is well.

It would be nice if you oh could go to a scan with you @Esssa, I think there is a rule change coming with regards to nhs scans / maternity care.

Still no news on the ivf yet @AliceinBunnyland, the recurrent mc consultant from the nk cells clinic said we should hive it a try. I guess it'll be practice for ivf too (hoping we don't need to go down that route but we'll see)

I'm sorry you have a lot of anxiety @marmitecheesetoast ❤️ I think that's totally normal, it's really hard kit to overthink everything, it's very overwhelming. Sending lots of love.

I hope you all continue to have hood news :) will be thinking of you all xx

Esssa · 17/07/2020 17:03

@Sakura54 thats great news it went well. Does having a split uterus impact the pregnancy in any way did they say?

@marmitecheesetoast I'm 6+4 today 7 on Monday which is super helpful and I'll be sad if the day changes from the dating scan, especially if they put me back. Still got to get there though. How far along are you?

marmitecheesetoast · 17/07/2020 16:50

Brilliant news @Sakura54 delighted for you. Although sorry it was painful.

Thank you @Esssa how many weeks are you now? I think burny crampy feelings can be pretty normal but I know it’s impossible not to worry.

@VenusStarr I’m doing ok-ish thank you. A lot of anxiety and feeling quite daunted. If this pregnancy continues, it’s hard feeling as though there is no ‘safe point’ for me that I’ll feel once I get to a set number of weeks I’ll feel more confident in it. Just trying to think today I’m pregnant but it’s hard. I’ve had less nausea today than the last few days which is making me anxious but just trying not to obsess.

Loving the orchid update!

Fx @AliceinBunnyland @VenusStarr hope the tww goes quickly for you both and you’re not driven too mad with symptom spotting

Hope @Mumlili9 is doing ok too

Firevie · 17/07/2020 15:30

@Sakura54 yay! I am so pleased for you!!! Wishing you a continuing healthy pregnancy! Xx

Sakura54 · 17/07/2020 15:28

Thank you all. Appreciate the kind words. False alarm! Everything is fine. As well as spotting, I was getting bad body aches and felt so weak, so was convinced I was going to have another MC, as the last baby stopped around now secretly. My symptoms are milder than usual and the nausea is non-existent. I also don’t have my usual hard belly. She confirmed I have a split uterus which previously some sonographers have seen and others haven’t. So I have a split and tilted uterus. This is the 3rd time I’ve had an internal scan and my goodness it was painful this time!

AliceinBunnyland · 17/07/2020 15:02

No need to apologise @VenusStarr This thread moves quickly at times. I'm honestly not sure. I'll see how I feel later this cycle. We still might give it a go today anyway as under SMEP you dtd for 3 days after the peak (not that we're doing SMEP) but I'm not bothered if we don't

So is the progesterone as a start of what would be your IVF treatment or is this something you're trying in the meantime? Sorry if I've completely misunderstood.

I'm going to try not to think about symptoms because I've got excited so many times and my body has tricked me though I'm sure I'll read into everything too!

Esssa · 17/07/2020 13:47

@VenusStarr I'm tempted to but everywhere locally is booked until a good way through August. I'm blaming covid! We will probably go between the two nhs scans if oh still can't come, and if we get to that point. Oh didn't seem keen on an early scan, probably because it costs! I pointed out I wouldn't have to feel sick for so many weeks if an early scan picked up it had gone wrong again like the mmc. He hadn't considered that so may go early if I can get a slot. Mum has offered to pay for one too. Progesterone doesn't sound fun but anything that could help is worth it. Good luck!

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 13:23

Sorry if I missed that @AliceinBunnyland, will you test early? I have zero desire to test early which is unusual! I think the side effects will just be usual tww symptoms like sore boobs and bloating (😏) I have literally no symptoms which is also unusual as I've been getting sore boobs from ovulation. But not reading into anything.

Glad you're doing OK @Esssa :) could you have an early scan if you wanted? I've got everything crossed for you ❤️

AliceinBunnyland · 17/07/2020 12:04

@VenusStarr Yes on 15th. I think I did mentioned further up thread. Good news on your orchids and the progesterone. Does it have any side effects?

Esssa · 17/07/2020 11:54

I'm doing ok thanks @VenusStarr. Another couple of weeks till I get to the danger zone as it were. Then a few more weeks after that till the first scan which I'm dreading after last time. I have nausea and burning crampy feelings quite often that worry me a bit too. Other than that I'm not complaining and I have everything crossed it'll work out without being particularly positive about it all.

Everyones plants are looking well. My tomatoes are starting to ripen now we have some sun and the strawberries and raspberries are coming along too.

Congratulations @marmitecheesetoast I've got everything crossed for you!

Hope everything is OK @Sakura54

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 10:32

Morning all, orchid update, I have 2 front runners and a new little bud has shot out in a week. I went to B&q earlier in the week and they had lots of orchids so inspected their buds and I really don't think mine are far off. This morning the largest one looks lighter green, so think its on its way 🙏 🙏

Hope you're OK @Sakura54 ❤️

How are you @Esssa @marmitecheesetoast hope you're both doing well xx

@Mumlili9 how are you getting on?

@AliceinBunnyland have you had a static smiley yet?

I'm going to start the progesterone tomorrow evening 🤞 the sun is shining here ☀ have a good day all xxx

Firevie · 17/07/2020 07:57

@Sakura54 good luck for your scan today xx

VenusStarr · 16/07/2020 19:12

I'm sorry to hear about the spotting @Sakura54 ❤️ I hope tomorrow's scan brings reassurance. Please let us know, thinking of you xx

AliceinBunnyland · 16/07/2020 12:35

@Sakura54 Fingers crossed 🤞 I know lots of women have spotting in a healthy pregnancy but understand it's worrying and hope the scan goes well

Sakura54 · 16/07/2020 10:46

I went to A&E and they’ve booked me in for a scan tomorrow due to spotting. This is why I didn’t want to waste time and have my blood test and checks done so early, but it was done the other day. I don’t even know how to feel right now. Wish me luck, guys.

Firevie · 16/07/2020 06:45

@Hlump1980 I am so sorry to hear about your losses. This is horrible and heartbreaking. Make sure you allow all of your feelings - that is the only way to process. I went for my 12w scan and got told the baby had stopped growing at 6w. First baby too. We were devastated. I have just had the ERPC on Tuesday and now waiting for everything to heal before I can start tracking ovulation periods etc and TTC again. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Sending positive vibes your way xxx

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 21:31

I'm sorry @Hlump1980 This is a tough time and whatever you are feeling is "normal". I lost a baby at 40 weeks and then had a miscarriage 6 months later. I've probably been through just about every negative feeling or lack of feeling possible.

@VenusStarr I didn't manage to go today but she will ask - she always asks! Blush

VenusStarr · 15/07/2020 18:32

I am so sorry @Hlump1980 ❤️❤️ it's awful having to walk out of the hospital after a bad scan. How you're feeling is totally normal, I flipped between totally numb to crying. I spent the days between scans in a bit of a fog to be honest. Have you got a follow up scan booked? With my first miscarriage I'd had bleeding on and off but with my second the bleeding started just before I miscarried (I'd had early scans in both so knew they weren't going to work out sadly). Sending lots of love Flowers

Thank you @AliceinBunnyland :) did they ask you what was in the package? 😂

Hlump1980 · 15/07/2020 13:55

Hello Ladies
Do you mind if I join ? I have just had a scan at beginning of the week where I found out I lost both my babies at around 8 weeks. It was any first pregnancy and I am just 40. I knew I had lost one the week before at a previous scan but was hoping for a miracle for the other one as it had a heartbeat which I heard. In a mater of 2 weeks I have found out I was expecting twins and then found out they have both died. It has been a rollercoaster and I have been doing this all by myself. The father and I aren’t together but it was planned since I just turned 40 and he said do you fancy having a baby with me ? We are friends with benefits let’s just say...
The EPU have been fab and I have decided to go down the natural route for the time being. If nothing happens by next week then of course I will have to think again. I think what I am finding so hard is that I made all this plans in My head and they have now gone. I obviously a bag of mixed emotions and something will be fine and the next minute balling my eyes out. I can’t face people at the moment . I hoping all of this is natural? I know I was only a mummy for 8 ish weeks but it still hurts so much x

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 09:52

@VenusStarr No problem. There are quite a few people on there and some post a lot and attend book club and the quiz whereas some are not as active at all.

I will post OPKs to @VenusStarr and @Mumlili9 later today probably as I have the afternoon off. The best I've come up with to tell the post office lady is that they're perfume samples or make up applicators 😭

VenusStarr · 15/07/2020 09:44

I'm glad you're getting support from the rainbow clinic @marmitecheesetoast, will you be offered any early scans? There's a thread, maybe on pregnancy or birth clubs, I'm not sure as I don't venture in there.

Best wishes for your scan @Sakura54

Good news on the flashing smiley @AliceinBunnyland 🤞

How are you getting on @Mumlili9, are you testing soon?

I'm officially 3 dpo, confirmed by fertility friend so I'm in for a short cycle again, due on next Saturday. Starting the progesterone from Sunday 🍀
Thanks for the message Alice, I have joined but not had much chance to get on yet xx

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 09:42

@marmitecheesetoast Last year there was a "graduates" of the penguin huddle thread but then later on when there were quite a few BFPs they set up a new thread. @Mumlili9 might know otherwise you could set up a new one when you're ready 💜

I got a static smiley today (after only one day of flashing smiley) Pleased because I was feeling fertile yesterday (cm etc) but DH and I didn't manage to dtd last night as we couldn't be bothered. He's gone for a walk so we said we'd do it when he gets back Grin
