Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@Esssa Absolutely, I do hope you're able to feel a bit better once more time passes and you're in the second trimester! I know, like you said there, that some of us here have had experiences during the second trimester...but the majority of babies do make it, and I have my fingers crossed that you're able to feel happier with every passing week 💕

Esssa · 10/08/2020 22:49

Friday 28th though getting that was a palaver. By the dates I was given today that should measure 13 weeks but as far as they are concerned it'll be 12+4. They did want to give me 13+3 which would have put me right on the edge for the nuchal scan so I'm glad I pushed for earlier.

I'm hoping once I get into the second trimester I'll feel better about everything as I've never got there before. I know all too well, as does everyone else here, that that doesn't clear us completely though.

Kiki275 · 10/08/2020 21:22

Wonderful news @Esssa! You have every right to be pessimistic and there won't be a soul on this thread who can blame you.
Have you a date for your 12 week anomaly scan yet?x

Esssa · 10/08/2020 20:59

I asked her to check but she couldn't see any reason. Cervix is closed so no issue there either. Celebratory fish and chips for tea that I'm going to regret as I've eaten too much, compensation for the last few days.

KerryW87 · 10/08/2020 20:37

@Esssa Oh, I'm so pleased everything was fine! Had been thinking about you. What lovely news, so pleased for you. Hope you have a lovely night and you can sleep a lot better tonight! 💕

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry about the BFN :( I hope the new job goes well and I'm glad you're sticking around. When do you start the job? x

@VenusStarr Hope you're well too! x

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 20:07

Oh I'm so pleased for you @Esssa 💕 did they give a reason for the bleeding?

Esssa · 10/08/2020 19:41

Update. Now I can see to type everything looks fine. I can't believe it and I'm still not 100% convinced we are bringing a baby home but it was a really good result. Measuring in front and a good heartbeat. First time I've seen a live baby on a scan. Sorry for the pessimistic melt down of the last few days.

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry its a bfn for you today. I hope the new job goes well.

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 17:18

I'm really sorry to hear that @Mumlili9 ❤️ I'm glad you're sticking around. Best wishes with your new job, any idea when you can start? X

AliceinBunnyland · 10/08/2020 17:00

@Mumlili9 I'm sorry to hear that. Any chance you were just too early to test? I hope you're as okay as you can be. Please PM me any time if you want to chat or rant or whatever x

Kiki275 · 10/08/2020 16:59

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry to hear that. Huge hugs to you. That can't have been an easy decision to make and I'm in awe of you for making it. I hope your new job goes well and when it's time to try again the clean break helps xx

Mumlili9 · 10/08/2020 15:56

Hello ladies

@Esssa sorry to hear your having a really tough time fx its nothing sinister. Were here for you either way.

As for me it was test day today and it was a bfn. Were now going to take a break though it looks like it'll never happen again for us now. I'm probably to scared up inside. I'm going to hang around because I'd like to see you all get your bfp's. I'm totally gutted but I need to secure my new job before we can start trying again. Tbh I've shed so many tears today

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 12:05

I'm glad your oh can be with you later @Esssa ❤️ sending you lots of love xx

I know exactly what you mean about a carefree pregnancy - I've connected with a few people doing ivf as that's our next step and they are newly pregnant now and they are just completely embracing their pregnancy and I just can't relate to that at all. It makes me anxious just thinking about it. I'd love to think that I could celebrate each day, makes me a bit sad xx

Esssa · 10/08/2020 11:36

Thanks you all for checking on me after I've pretty much gatecrashed back into the thread. I will hopefully know by 7 this evening. Scan is at 6.45 so oh can come with me. Symptoms seem to be reducing a bit but I'm supposed to be 10 weeks today so I know they could anyway. Oh to have a carefree pregnancy.

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 11:10

Thinking of you @Esssa 💕

KerryW87 · 10/08/2020 08:23

Sorry @Esssa, the weekend totally got away from me but I'm thinking of you today 💕💕 How are you feeling this morning? xx

Kiki275 · 10/08/2020 07:56

@Esssa massive hand hold! It definitely doesn't mean bad news but after what you've been through I'm not surprised you're taking it that way. You're mentally preparing yourself. As I mentioned, I had a bleed at 12 weeks which they put down to the placenta bedding in. There was an obvious pocket of blood which made its way out over the next few weeks. The internal at EPU prior to that scan suggested it could have been uterine lining that was forming outside of the uterus. There are so many could be's, I hope you get your answer x

Esssa · 10/08/2020 05:50

Still hanging in there. Sleeping not going too well. I just want to get today over with. Super pessimistic atm. This bleed was worse than last pregnancy so it clearly can't be good news is how my brain is progressing it so far.

AliceinBunnyland · 09/08/2020 21:18

I hope you're okay @Essa Don't be sorry hard on yourself 🤞

Kiki275 · 09/08/2020 20:36

@Esssa you wouldn't be human if you didn't feel emotions. On the flip side, you weren't wishing it on them, you were just glad it wasn't you. Please don't be so hard on yourself.xx

Esssa · 09/08/2020 20:19

As good as can be expected I think. Didn't ring in the end. I fell asleep and there wasn't much point ringing by the time I woke up. At least I got some sleep though, its been a bit hit and miss lately. No more bleeding, just some discomfort that occasionally twinges into ouch territory.

Scan is booked for tomorrow evening and I'm not sure what result will make me cry more. Probably if everything is as it should be. I'm kind of resigned to it being over. I know how that version goes. Karma really because every time one of the ladies in the fb group sadly dropped out I thought that's one more for the statistics, maybe it won't be me this time. Which is awful of me. Thanks for checking on me @Kiki275 not that it feels like I deserve it after that.

Kiki275 · 09/08/2020 19:54

@Esssa are you okay?xx

Kiki275 · 09/08/2020 11:07

@Esssa I'd make the call. Even if the can't scan you, they'll likely do an internal and check your cervix, do a urine sample etc. Even that is reassuring and will give a positive focus x

VenusStarr · 09/08/2020 09:58

I think if it's consuming you, make the call. They might not be able to scan you any earlier, but sharing how anxious this is making you feel might help @Esssa I know when I'm anxious I can't make decisions, if it was me, I'd call xx

Esssa · 09/08/2020 09:15

Haven't rung yet. Oh thinks I should wait for the scan tomorrow. Don't know what to do.

VenusStarr · 09/08/2020 08:57

I'm glad they're open today @Esssa, I hope that you can be seen - just seen the time, did you get through?
