Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@Mumlili9 wow! Your friend is going to have a lot on her plate when these babies arrive! With as busy a life as she's got going on, she probably hasn't spared you a second thought 🙁. If her twins are identical, she'll be having a lot of scans. Now is maybe the time to gently say that you're so very pleased for her but are struggling with the news, then you can take a step back. If she is a friend, she'll understand. Huge hugs xx

Mumlili9 · 16/08/2020 21:34

@KerryW87 yes its a probationary period of 12 weeks and 3 weeks intensive training. As to the surgery no covid happened so that was that.

KerryW87 · 16/08/2020 21:25

@Mumlili9 Oh wow, that does sound like a really physically demanding job! I'm glad you're excited about it - I've read so many times that we are "more than ttc" and it's so hard to feel that way at times, but I suppose we do all need to remember that; to make time for the things in our lives that we're good at and that we enjoy doing, whether that be career-wise or in our free time. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm happy that you're looking forward to the job and I hope that it's a positive thing for you ❤️ Is there a sort of probationary period for your job after which point they would have to look after you at work re. risk assessments and job security?

I'm so sorry about your surgery :( Has that been looked into at all?

Mumlili9 · 16/08/2020 21:14

@KerryW87 @BunniesLoveBananas thanks for your kind words.

My break from ttc is because of the new job. Its bitter sweet, I'm excited about the new job but it kind of puts a possible stop on ttc . The job intales lots of lifting and restraining fully grown men with mental health issues. I'm worried that even if I did fall pregnant then I might get hurt and lose the baby anyway or they would finish me because I'm pregnant. I know legally they can't do that but there's plenty of loop holes and other ways to get rid of you if they want too. Tbh I'm not sure ill ever get pregnant again anyway don't believe my body is capable. I believe that the surgeon completely messed me up during my botched ectopic surgery.

KerryW87 · 16/08/2020 21:00

@Mumlili9 My heart goes out to you, I'm so sorry you're finding this so difficult :( I can't imagine how hard it must be to be taking a break when you feel it's forced and not entirely your own choice. How are you feeling about starting the new job?

You are absolutely not a failure ❤️ Hope you're feeling ok and having a well-deserved relaxing Sunday xx

BunniesLoveBananas · 16/08/2020 16:19

@Mumlili9 I can understand to some degree why you feel the way you do. I can't believe your friend is pregnant again?! Confused She is your friend and she might be highly fertile (from the sounds of it) but I wouldn't consider her to be more successful than you in any way from what you've said. You are not a failure 💗 Tell her that you don't need to see scan pics if that would help you. It sounds like you've been a good friend to her.

Mumlili9 · 16/08/2020 16:14

@VenusStarr thanks for asking after me.

I'm CD 2 of my 3 month break from ttc. I start my new job on 24th August. I'm sorry I've been awol but I'm not really dealing with this enforsed break very well and I'm feeling quite resentful of the world right now. Then to really rub the salt in my friend with the 8 kids (youngest child is 10 weeks old) tells me today thats she's pregnant again and sends me a scan picture of 6-7 weeks twins!!! Truly I give up and have never felt more a failure.

KerryW87 · 15/08/2020 18:36

@BunniesLoveBananas I'm glad you're feeling a bit better! That's the good thing about this forum, always a good place for a vent when we're not having a good day ❤️

I do know how you feel - my sister-in-law is 7 weeks ahead of where I was. She's such a wonderful person and has had her share of heartbreak before this so I'm so over the moon for her...but it is also hard sometimes to know her baby's wee cousin didn't make it.

Glad you're having a better day :) x

BunniesLoveBananas · 15/08/2020 18:00

@VenusStarr I think I'm being oversensitive as I'm so tired and a bit stressed with work plus feeling "hormonal" but these things will often bother me on a bad day. I feel much better today after a good night's sleep and watching some TV with my baby bunnies running around

Hope you enjoy meeting your IVF friends today

Hope everyone else is ok 💕

KerryW87 · 15/08/2020 17:39

@VenusStarr Oh how nice is that? Hope the meet-up went well and you had a great day! :)

KerryW87 · 15/08/2020 13:18

@Hopefulmummie So sorry for your loss ❤️ I'm very new to this thread and have already found it such a help, everyone here is very supportive ❤️❤️

VenusStarr · 15/08/2020 10:20

Hi everyone

Welcome @Hopefulmummie, I am so sorry for your loss ❤️ this group has been a wonderful source of support for me.

Glad you had a good acupuncture session @Semele5069. Very similar to mine, I was there nearly 2 hours! Full history and then I had about 20 minutes of acupuncture, all in my back, one in my head for anxiety and one in my hand and a few by my ankles. She did mention that I'm a bit stagnated and something to do with my kidneys, but I've forgotten what that means. I'm going to have a course and am looking forward to it.

I had a difficult counselling session on Thursday - I reflected from last time that I'm still holding onto a lot of shame, so we explored that. I'm not sure if it's off the back of that or the acupuncture releasing things, but I was quite emotional yesterday.

That's great about the sands session @KerryW87 ❤️

@AliceinBunnyland I'm sorry that happened, I know we can't hide away but like you say having news like that in a safe space is really tough 💛

Hope you're well @Kiki275 @Mumlili9 💕

I'm off to meet some new ivf friends I connected with via Instagram today which I'm looking forward to. Have a lovely weekend xxx

Kiki275 · 15/08/2020 08:10

@Hopefulmummie so sorry to hear about your loss. This is a lovely group though, welcome.xx

Hopefulmummie · 14/08/2020 23:05

Hi everyone.
I suffered an ectopic pregnancy at the start of june at 6/7 weeks pregnant. I was devastated.
The time has come again to TTC and it feels surreal to have to go through all this again.
I'm on CD1 today so this is my first cycle TTC.
Just hoping it doesn't take too long to fall pregnant again

KerryW87 · 14/08/2020 22:45

@AliceinBunnyland Ah, I'm sorry about the baby announcements. I know way back in my early twenties I wouldn't have even thought about it, but people just don't realise unless they've been through something like this how hard things like this can hit you...and it really can hit hard :( Hope you're doing ok? ❤️

@Semele5069 That sounds fantastic! Let us know how the next one goes! :)

I contacted my local SANDS and they're going to give me a phone session with one of their support group team...been back and forth with myself about whether or not to do it, but feeling a bit low this week and don't want to feel that way if there's anything I can do to help it! I figure it can't hurt?

Hope everyone's ok and has a nice weekend ahead! ❤️ xx

AliceinBunnyland · 14/08/2020 13:12

Thanks @Kiki275 I might try that. I am concerned that now one person has done it, others will follow x

Kiki275 · 14/08/2020 12:12

@AliceinBunnyland can you message the admin? A group I'm on had announcements left, right & centre, so the admin put a stop to it (knowing many women on there are struggling seeing them). Now it's back to its true purpose, plus rude/funny memes x

AliceinBunnyland · 14/08/2020 09:47

Hi @Semele5069 That sounds really good!

I'm getting annoyed with baby announcements as there have been two this week on non-baby pages - one on my Les Mills Facebook group and another in my local Facebook group. I can imagine how wonderful it is for them but you don't need to tell a massive group of people you don't know and people are so blind to how that might affect others...

Now even my "safe" groups are becoming about babies../

Semele5069 · 13/08/2020 14:22

@VenusStarr @KerryW87 @AliceinBunnyland I had my first acupuncture session this week too! Really enjoyed it. The lady is Zita West trained and was very knowledgeable about fertility. She went through my TTC history and was really interested in the details of my 2 miscarriages and what my periods are like.

She was also interested in the fact I've had a very stressful couple of years and talked about the impact that has on us physically. She went over my diet and has suggested some changes (mainly to more whole foods, fruit and veg) but has also sent me diet advice sheets.

She did some acupuncture in the session, mainly round my ankles, lower abdomen, right wrist and forehead, then left me for 15 mins. It was really relaxing and I noticed some odd crampy feelings sort of like ovulation pains later, which was interesting.

She also advised me on what to ask my GP about in my appointment about testing and would like to know any results.

I have another appointment in a couple of weeks so really interested in seeing how it goes. Let me know how you get on too!

KerryW87 · 13/08/2020 12:44

@AliceinBunnyland Aww I'm glad, was it two bunnies you got? Haha, I know the feeling. I definitely have a case of that when it comes to uni work 😂 Hope you managed to get enough done and you're on track for an early finish!

Oh no, of course...itll be so natural to feel that way ❤️ For now, I definitely feel that when around pregnant women which makes me feel so guilty, but it is how it is I suppose. I know what you mean about wanting to get over it, but don't be hard on yourself for it either - your feelings are your feelings and they're valid ❤️

I chased up test results yesterday and was told it'll likely be over 8 weeks now due to delays, so that was a bit hard to take. Feel so frantic about wanting to try again but I know I'll just need to keep distracted as best as I can and wait! xx

AliceinBunnyland · 13/08/2020 08:25

Hi @KerryW87 I'm ok, thanks for asking. Been enjoying my bunnies but also super busy with work. Managed to take most of yesterday afternoon off and DH Dsis with her DH and kids planning to visit later so I'm going to try to finish early again. I'm convinced I'm unproductive for part of the day(!) so just going to try to get a day's work done by lunchtime.

It's good your job is brining you some joy. I love kids but I do find being around young ones tough as particularly little girls make me think of my DD. I need to get over that though! Work can be a good distraction.

@VenusStarr I hope the acupuncture goes well. I'd be interested to know how it goes too. I've heard lots of great things about it.

KerryW87 · 13/08/2020 07:47

@VenusStarr Oh wow, how was acupuncture? Always been curious about it! Sounds like a good self-care plan for sure :)

I'm ok too, thanks. I'm a nursery practitioner in a primary school so it was first day back with all the wee ones yesterday! Without a doubt the happiest I've felt since it all happened...not much time for feeling sad with 16 excited 3-4 year olds around you 😂❤️ So I'm really glad to be back xx

VenusStarr · 13/08/2020 06:48

Hi @KerryW87 I'm OK thank you, got my first acupuncture session today and a counselling session after, lots of self care today! ☺️
How are you? Hope everyone else is OK and coping with the heat. We've had some pretty cool storms here.

KerryW87 · 12/08/2020 15:54

@Esssa @Kiki275 @Mumlili9 @VenusStarr @AliceinBunnyland How are you all today? ❤️ x

Esssa · 11/08/2020 11:30

Just had a catch up on the last page or 2.The orchid is looking lovely @VenusStarr. I hope its a sign of good things for the ivf. Sorry to read about your bunny @SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow but congrats on the two new additions. Its always sad to lose a furry family member.
