Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@KerryW87 sorry it must be so disappointing. I agree with @BunnyLovesBananas mine took months to get back to "normal" and even now the flow has changed from before. My 2nd period was approx 3 weeks after the first but the cycle did then start to lengthen. Just log everything on an app and get to know your new cycles. DTD regularly but without becoming a chore. 🤞for you xx

BunnyLovesBananas · 20/08/2020 08:13

@KerryW87 I think it can take time to get back into a regular cycle

Hope everyone is okay 💗

KerryW87 · 20/08/2020 08:00

This would be my first cycle after lochia stopped so it's very rough but I'd be around CD 16? Perhaps because I haven't had a "regular" one yet I might still be all over the place? Was just a disappointment when all seemed fine until this!

Kiki275 · 20/08/2020 07:58

@KerryW87 what CD day are you on? Had you had a "regular" cycle previous to this?x

KerryW87 · 20/08/2020 07:56

@Kiki275 Aw I'm so glad you were able to do that, that must have helped a bit during such a sad time for you ❤️ Yeah, it's been hard knowing he's been in the hospital mortuary all month but just so relieved he'll be laid to rest now and we can go visit him ❤️ Thank you :)

Off topic but wondered if anyone can help? Has anyone had mid-cycle bleeding? I never usually do, but this week was looking like ovulation week (CM, cramps etc) but I'm bleeding bright red? It doesn't seem like a period, looks too much like fresh blood but gradually getting heavier over the last 24 hours. Bit scunnered that it means I'm not back to normal yet :(

Hope everyone's ok! xx

Kiki275 · 19/08/2020 14:23

@KerryW87 how lovely! I was lucky as I got hand my boys personally to the funeral home and then visit them as often as I liked until their funeral. I can't imagine what it would have been like not to be able to do that. You must be so excited to have him close by again and say everything you need to xx

KerryW87 · 19/08/2020 12:47

@Mumlili9 Oh wow, least you'll be prepared going in? I hope it isn't quite as full-on as that on Monday! Hopefully this week and weekend is a good one, and let us know how you get on when you start.

@Sakura54 That's fantastic news, so pleased for you :)

It's been a month today since my wee boy was born, and finally got a call to say he'll be able to be cremated and have his service next Saturday. Hoping this brings a bit of peace knowing he's at peace and not in limbo - Id wondered why I was feeling worse as time went on and not better, but I think that was maybe why as I feel so relieved he's finally going to be able to rest. Sounds morbid to say that it's been a good day because of that! But it has ❤️

Hope everyone's ok today! x

Kiki275 · 19/08/2020 10:36

@Sakura54 wonderful news! Are you feeling more reassured?

@Hopefulmummie good thanks. Suppose I'm in the dreaded TWW now so time will tell x

Sakura54 · 19/08/2020 10:07

Just to let you know I had my 12 week scan and it was successful. I'm still rooting for you all in the background! Hope you're well.

Hopefulmummie · 19/08/2020 09:10

@Kiki275 morning I'm good thanks. Af just finishing now so trying smep from Monday as it worked for us the last time
How are u

Kiki275 · 19/08/2020 09:06

@Mumlili9 at least they're being honest Confused. Hopefully, it sounds worse than it actually is and for the most part will be quite calm & routine x

Mumlili9 · 19/08/2020 09:00

@Kiki275 not yet I start Monday. I can't believe how nervous I am though. I'm a bit scared to. I'm told the wards are very volatile and to expect to be hit and bite regularly.

Kiki275 · 19/08/2020 08:39

Morning,
@Mumlili9 have you started your new role yet?
@Esssa has the bleeding settled?
@Hopefulmummie how are you?
@VenusStarr how is the IVF preparation going?
Hope everyone is okay x

KerryW87 · 18/08/2020 19:58

@Kiki275 That's a good approach 😂😂😂 x

Kiki275 · 18/08/2020 19:52

@KerryW87 😂 I'll just play a game in my phone and let him get on with it 😂😂 x

KerryW87 · 18/08/2020 18:07

@Kiki275 I shouldn't laugh 😂 but that is just TYPICAL. Is it just a general getting on your nerves sort of day? Hope he's less annoying in the required timeframe!

Kiki275 · 18/08/2020 17:25

FFS! What is it about men that means they piss you off immensely, at the precise moment when you're ovulating and you need them for their sperm? The thought of DTD has the same appeal as unclogging the hair from the shower drain Angry x

KerryW87 · 17/08/2020 17:37

@Mumlili9 That was clearly meant to say your last day, not first! 🙈

KerryW87 · 17/08/2020 17:36

Thanks @Kiki275 ❤️

@Mumlili9 Hope the first day went well! x

Kiki275 · 17/08/2020 13:20

@KerryW87 don't think it's nuts at all. It's entirely understandable. Fingers crossed for you xx

KerryW87 · 17/08/2020 12:42

@Kiki275 Thanks, no it doesn't sound know all in the slightest, appreciate the advice so thank you ❤️ I know I probably do seem a bit nuts with it so quickly, I don't know why but I just feel like it's the only thing that's keeping me out of a really low mood these days. I know that's dangerous, though since, as you've said, my cycles might not be normal for a while.

I actually just ordered Conceive plus a few days ago!

Hope you're ok? xx

Kiki275 · 17/08/2020 08:56

@Mumlili9 enjoy your last day and embrace the new chapter. They say a change is as good as a rest and there could be so many surprises waiting, just around the corner.

@KerryW87 try not to stress too much about TTC straight away. Maybe put your focus on learning your cycles again as mine were totally out of whack (Flo was not good at predicting either). DTD every other night (but don't make it a chore). Sorry, that sounds so know all, but I found I got so upset and angry with myself for missing ovulation etc when in fact I really couldn't have known/predicted yet.
Also, I've heard good things about ConceivePlus. x

Mumlili9 · 17/08/2020 08:38

Well ladies its my last day in my old life / job . I'm so excited but so sad. I've worked there for over 10 years and I'm going to miss it truly.

Thanks ladies for all your kind words over the last 2 days

KerryW87 · 17/08/2020 08:17

Morning, hope everyone's ok! Hope you're feeling ok this morning @Mumlili9

So, I've been trying to roughly keep an eye on things since lochia stopped and I believe my cycle started again and this is potentially my fertile week 😬 (Thats unless my cycles are out of whack now). Been keeping an eye on EWCM etc but think that's about all I'll do - not sure I have the mental strength to deal with the frustration of OPKs!

I've been taking the Wellwoman vitamins for conception, iron, fish oil and manuka honey (read its good for EWCM). Partner has been taking wheatgrass as it's meant to be good for sperm...do any of you take anything differently for TTC/have any tips? Thanks :) x

VenusStarr · 17/08/2020 05:54

@Mumlili9 ❤️ I didn't cope well with enforced breaks, I don't have any advice, but we're here. I can't believe the insensitivity of your friend. I vaguely remember when you said she was pregnant, wasn't she single? You are not a failure - I understand why you feel like that, I carry that feeling often, but it's not true. Sending you lots of love xxx

@BunniesLoveBananas I don't think you're bring oversensitive. I had something similar last week with a dormant WhatsApp group resurrecting with one friend asking another about her newborn as she's fostering a little one, so there was chat about going to baby sensory etc together. No one else in the group replied, so we were just essentially welcomed into their private chat. I met up with a different friend from the group yesterday and she said she completely felt for me and that it was inappropriate - helped me feel validated. The problem is them, not you xx

Hope everyone is OK - I'm having trouble posting so can't reply to everyone xx
