Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

Hi Everyone,
I dont know how to put this in words..but i am sooo overwhemled about what is happening. I got a confirmation today that I have had my second miscarriage. Felt fully devasted and felt that i am never gonna have a little baby as if i will be never blessed.
Had 1st MC in August and 2nd now in December. I dont even know if i will ever have a healthy pregnancy.
Feeling very low. My mind is thundered with thoughts.
Looking for positive replies.
Many thanks

@VenusStarr @kim80 @dryoldparty @EatPrayYoga

Ladies there's a new thread. Can you tag anyone who I haven't please and thank you @Kiki275 for the new thread x

Kiki275 · 20/11/2020 20:30

@nchristie I think we can definitely all relate to that. The precise moment our hearts were broken. I had so many scans with my boys but can remember them all so clearly xx

New thread:
🐧 Penguin Huddle 🐧 Thread 36 - TTC after pregnancy loss www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4085222-penguin-huddle-thread-36-ttc-after-pregnancy-loss

I've just taken and changed the opening paragraph a little. Hope OP doesn't mind xx

nchristie · 20/11/2020 20:26

@Kiki275 the weird thing is I never had any private scans. It's just reading about bad things showing up in scans reminded me of the final nhs scan.

Kiki275 · 20/11/2020 20:19

@nchristie I'm sorry you were triggered by it. I read the same article and sort of felt lucky in a way. At our 1st and only private scan, following a bleed around 11/12weeks, the sonographer got the dates nearly a week out and missed a twin.

I'll start a new thread and post the link @Mumlili9, thank you for the heads up. Hope everything went okay today?x

nchristie · 20/11/2020 09:43

@mumlili9 thanks

InDreamland · 19/11/2020 22:08

@Mumlili9 I'm well thanks. Actually had covid last month which was scary, me, DH and DD all tested positive 6 weeks ago. All well now though thankfully. It's natural to be nervous before any investigations, I remember going for a hysterosalpingogram (think that's how you spell it) twice and it was just horrible wondering what they might find and tell you. Just try to remember that hopefully they will tell you something useful. Info is power and hopefully it will help with possible ways forward. Keeping everything crossed for you!

InDreamland · 19/11/2020 22:02

@VenusStarr oh I'm so pleased the book was useful there. I also tried to pursue that route, booked appt at the Lister to ask to be tested. After some other tests and those results being "reassuring" but still gave me no answers I was advised not to have the NK cells tests because it's so rare but it was ultimately my choice and sent away with loads of info to read up on before deciding whether to go ahead. At the same time DH had tests and long story short seemed issues were with him (although he's still saying it couldn't have been him - men eh!). Anyways, it is positive that you have found the likely cause of your losses and with treatment hopefully I will be congratulating you very soon on a BFP, a healthy sticky bean and 24 weeks of nausea/morning sickness (just for reassurance of course) followed by a very active baby kicking lots until they join us at full term! Goodness you and everyone else on here deserve that rainbow!

Mumlili9 · 19/11/2020 22:00

Mumlili9 · 19/11/2020 21:57

@InDreamland hello Lovely to hear from you, how are you?

Girls im so scared about tomorrow. Im scared of it hurting, im scared of what they will find and equally what they won't find. And I've got to do it all on my tod too.

nchristie · 19/11/2020 21:50

Hi, I had a missed miscarriage in August at 16 weeks and I'm about to start trying for a baby again. I felt like I was handling the miscarriage okay, but this morning I read an article on the bbc about ultrasounds and suddenly was a total mess again because it reminded me of the scan when I found out I'd lost my little baby. Anyway, hello, good to meet you all. xxx

VenusStarr · 19/11/2020 21:35

Good to hear from you @InDreamland - it was the book you sent me that made me look deeper into the immunes testing and research, so thank you ❤️ feels nice to have hope again :)

InDreamland · 19/11/2020 21:22

Hello ladies. Just de-lurking again .......

@VenusStarr so pleased you have some answers and started treatment now. Fingers crossed you get a BFP soon and it's a sticky one! Just wish you didn't have to lose 4 to find this out.

@Mumlili9 thinking of you tomorrow and hope it gives some answers that could lead to a successful pregnancy x

VenusStarr · 19/11/2020 16:53

Thank you both @kim80 @Kiki275 officially started my medication today :)

@Mumlili9 best wishes for tomorrow, will be thinking of you. Xx

Kiki275 · 18/11/2020 20:15

@VenusStarr I'm so glad you have an answer and even better that it's treatable. I do hope things happen quickly for you xx

kim80 · 18/11/2020 19:58

@venusstarr I am so glad you have found this out and have been given the ok to ttc again and the correct medication to help.

Its so sad that it takes such losses to find out what is going on in the body.

I fully wish you all the luck from now on and will enjoy being on you journey with you. 😊

VenusStarr · 18/11/2020 19:27

Thank you @kim80 I'm not long home. Tiring day but we finally have some answers! I have very aggressive nk cells, so my body is attacking the pregnancies. He said that without treatment I'd likely keep miscarrying 😢 so I'm on some medication called hydroxychloroquine and I have to have regular intralipid infusions - had my first one today. We are able to resume ttc now and all being well my cycle will settle soon. Feel so relieved that we finally have some answers but I'm devastated that it took 4 of my babies for us to find our the reasons why xx

kim80 · 18/11/2020 13:50

Good luck @VenusStarr with this afternoon 🤞sorry to hear this @mumlili9 and good luck for Friday x

VenusStarr · 18/11/2020 13:00

VenusStarr · 18/11/2020 13:00

I'm sorry to hear about the bfn @Mumlili9 ❤️ lira of love for Friday and hope it brings some answers. Sorry to hear about your dh too.

I'm just killing time before my appointment, made it down in good time, so had a coffee and a sandwich. Will post later with my results 😬 xx

Mumlili9 · 18/11/2020 10:20

Hello ladies sorry I've been awol again. 13dpo today BFN . Hysteroscopy on Friday but now DH is on beta blockers. It seems the universe really just doesn't want thus to happen for us.
@VenusStarr sorry to hear your having troubles, hopefully they can sort you out x

VenusStarr · 17/11/2020 14:06

Hi @dryoldparty I do remember you, thank you for coming back on the thread. I'm sorry you've been through the same. I'm petrified of surgery. I'm not getting positive opks or hpts now, so I can kind of understand why the epu aren't seeing me and hoping that it means all is well. But like you say, there's a feeling I can't shake. Plus the tissue I passed, I'm 100% certain that it was pregnancy tissue but I need to check that it's all gone.
I've got the 'urgent' scan on Saturday morning. I'm seeing the private recurrent mc specialist tomorrow, so I'll take it through with him and see if he might scan me.
Thanks again xx

dryoldparty · 16/11/2020 19:31

Hi @VenusStarr not sure if you remember me, I used to be FrillyFarmer when I was on these threads.

My second MC was very similar to yours, I passed what we thought was everything, but I still had a couple of symptoms and a feeling. I tested negative after two weeks, and then a few days after I started to use OPKs again. They were showing constant peaks and when I did an HPT it was positive. The useless GP and nurse tried to convince me it was a new pregnancy but the HCG results from my blood tests were too low, but were rising. It went on and on and I had to push but I had retained products and had to have a D&C. The sonographer spent about 20 minutes on me before he found the retained products so don't be scared to challenge them for another look. I'm so very sorry you're going through this again, sending my love to you and the other penguins on this thread. Xxx

kim80 · 16/11/2020 16:04

@venusstarr I am so sorry you are going through all this. Hopefully they will get you in quick for the scan and you will have some answers. I had retained tissue and know how it feels to bleed for so long admittedly I didnt go through 6 weeks of it which I can only imagine must be dreadful as I know how much I had enough of just 4 weeks.

I really hope that either the tissue you lost was the end of it or you hopefully get some answers from the scan.

Being tucked up on the sofa with a heat pad sounds like the best medicine for how you feel.

Please keep us updated.

@eatprayyoga good to hear from you hope you are ok. 🙂
