No one will remove it!

Been reading this thread with interest and I'm happy for those of you who have been about to get yours removed. I'd planned on getting removed at the beginning of the pandemic but I think I missed being able to by a few days. I've been trying my GP surgery but still getting a no. Not even being able to speak to a nurse or doctor. Sexual health clinic will be my next try so crossed fingers. I completely understand why this has all been limited however things seem to be opening up again.

As someone who is also TTC, I have just read this thread with a great deal of interest as I have had the coil in for just over four years and was worried that I wouldn't be able to have it taken out because of the pandemic. I almost felt guilty ringing up and asking if it would be possible but the receptionist was so lovely and put me at ease straight away. I was booked in a week later by the friendliest nurse imaginable and I am so grateful that me and my husband can now start our TTC journey! I'm so sorry that OP had to fight so hard to be seen but I'm so happy for you now, good luck on the rest of your journey! 😊😊😊

Yay OP I'm happy it came out! Ignore the trolls, they've clearly got about 20 IQ points between them. FWIW my GP friends have all been complaining about how quiet things are and how they've very little to do at the moment!

He did say that he was pleased I didn't attempt it myself as it was so covered in scar tissue I would probably ended up at the GPs after hurting myself.

Gosh. I've just read this thread. I'm so pleased for you OP.

I very nearly had a coil fitted a few months ago and I'm SO pleased I didn't go through with it. If I didn't like the side effects I'd be stuck with it now!

Have been following this and thrilled it is coming out for you!

I’m contemplating number 3 (and final) at some point and I’d been wondering about getting something like the coil in the interim. So glad now that I kept putting it off as I’d hate to have something in place that I have to beg to have taken out.

Obviously it was right that you weren’t high priority but we’re many months down the line now and life has got to go on in some form ... my DC1 has had some appointments postponed and whilst it was all fine for a little bit, I’m starting to get really frustrated now at the suspension of routine health provision.

You don't have to justify yourself at all, everyone has their own reasons and I actually think now is a great time to try and get pregnant. As do most people on this board! Good luck with your appointment, I'll spare you the details but getting mine out was not pleasant

Yay congrats on finally getting somewhere op! I agree with @peperethecat. Its always galling when pregnant posters crop up berating others for trying to "breed". And then have the audacity to say how easy it is to wait. Some people dont have the luxury of waiting. Oh and also pandemic or not a woman has rights to body autonomy and that includes having foreign objects removed from her that she no longer wishes to be there.

Shame on the other poster on here saying it’s not right TTC right now...who knows how long it’ll take for any of us TTC to actually conceive. No ones getting any younger (no offence anyone) and things will be ok in the end.
I’d be more concerned about your own situation because unless you’re having this baby on your own at home with no midwives then YOU are stretching the resources more currently.
When I had my implant out two weeks ago, the lovely nurses said to me that they’ve never been so quiet so I didn’t feel guilty and they’d asked me to come in, same goes for the OP.
Good luck with the removal and let’s hope for BFP to all those TTC during this pandemic because at least there will be something beautiful at the end ☺️

OK, let's make it simple for you.

1. GPs are not involved in treating coronavirus patients. If you have coronavirus you are either self-isolating at home and under strict instructions not to go anywhere near your GP, or you are in hospital and hooked up to a ventilator.

1. GPs are always overstretched. It's got fuck all to do with coronavirus. In fact, some parts of the NHS are considerably less stretched than usual (A&E, for example).

1. What other people do with their bodies and their contraception is none of your business.

1. Nobody on this thread cares about your opinion.

1. What are you even doing on the conception board if you are already up the duff? Bugger off and browse for baby onesie online or whatever it is pregnant women do.

Does that clear things up? (I really don't care if it doesn't but please still follow the advice in 5 above anyway.)
