Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

Hi would love to join this thread as will be trying again. Hope your all doing well and fingers crossed for lots of positive news on here for everyone.

My story doesn't quite follow the normal way but as it I've been told I have miscarried or will. EPU are still monitoring me for ectopic as can't be sure.

7th May; negative pregnancy test

9/10th May: Short Heavy period (or so I thought)

16th May: Light cramps/ pregnancy symptoms so did a test was positive called EPU and went in I had a scan and nothing was there and had bloods done which were
Progesterone 3 nmol/L
HGC 204 IU/L
Was told as progesterone was so low and with the bleed the week before that I had Or I will miscarry and need to keep an eye to rule out ectopic

18th May HGC Bloods only
HCG 387 IU/L ( these levels were less than 48 hours as was done late evening and then first thing so gave some hope)

20th May
Internal Scan showed nothing again
HGC went down to 192 IU/L so this was what 100% confirmed non viable I was told.

Have to go back in a week for bloods just confused to what's happened as if the bleed was a miscarriage why did levels increase.

So today I did another Pregnancy test and LH test as it was there and I've attached the pic..

Could I actually be ovulating do you think?

Its all crazy. My MM was 4 weeks ago on Tuesday and I stopped bleeding after a week, then had a BFN after 2 weeks. Really feel like I'm about to come on any second and then nothing. Im not ovulating so guess I need to keep waiting. Im desperate to TTC again but this has put doubts in my partners mind. He's so worried it will happen again whereas I'm prepared to take the risk. He already has a 13 year old. He says we ll just carry on as we are and we conceived really quickly last time. He was fine when i was pregnant and says he will be again. I just feel rushed as I'm 38 and don't want to wait and increase my risk x

Workingmama1 · 21/05/2020 21:16

Our bodies are crazy at the moment arent they? It's tough just not quite knowing what is going on. I feel like I ovulated last weekend but also like I'm about to come on. Bleeding started 4 weeks ago tomorrow, I just have no idea where I am up to!

@Smilingdonkey I guess you will.habe to wait and see. The second line def looks darker...

@mrsAndeke welcome but sorry you found yourself here.

MrsRothery · 21/05/2020 21:13

Hi everyone, sorry we are all going through this but it’s nice not to feel alone. This was my first pregnancy. I went for my 12 week scan on 7th April and was told I’d had a missed miscarriage. I’ve had 4 weeks of natural management and was finally given medical management on Tuesday this week. It has dragged on for so long and I’ve found it really hard to be positive for the future because of this. Now, I hope I am coming to the end of it. We want to try again ASAP but I feel conflicted on wether to wait for a period or just start as soon as I’ve had a negative pregnancy test 3 weeks from Tuesday. Does anyone have any advice on this?
Look after yourselves xx

mrsAndeke · 21/05/2020 19:48

Just crazy isn't it! Just like blah!! I did do a ovulation stick on my last day of bleeding and it was a peak but i was still getting positives on a pregnancy test so was like oh it could be wrong now I'm second guessing just crazy isn't it.

Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 19:43

@mrsAndeke Welcome. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you are ovulating! From my reading (not from anything helpful any doctor has told me!) you can ovulate days after bleeding stops and also have an anovulatory cycle where you don't ovulate for the first cycle. It all seems a cruel guessing game of chance. Glad you got a negative. Maybe just have lots of sex for a while and see?! Xxxxx

@Benscalesisagod it's way more common than I thought to just conceive immediately within two weeks of miscarriage - lots of sources suggest you are more fertile for some reason - perhaps body trying to 'right the wrong' or something. It's bonkers. I'm not desperate for it to be a pregnancy (although would be great obviously) but I am desperate to just know and move on in either direction! I am just cross with myself for not checking I had a negative before merrily having sex. I was convinced I had ovulated but too late for this to be the result of it I think. More likely to be old hormones but it's been 5 weeks since miscarriage started now and I'm so ready for it to be over. I had no idea when it happened I'd find the wait for the next period so hard!

Hello ladies, I've been following the thread but not wrote till now, I had an MVA 4 weeks ago, bled for 2 and had a BFN, I've been tracking ovulation (CBDigital) but no or highs or peaks and my Flo chart says I should be ovulating, could it be possible that I won't ovulate or due to hormones coming back to normal??? I just want to TTC, I have been DTD but just want to see that peak!!

BenScalesIsAGod · 21/05/2020 19:11

It’s only a month or so after your miscarriage so is it not too soon for it to be a new pregnancy? It can definitely take longer than 3 weeks sometimes to get a negative test. I shall keep my fingers crossed for you though!

Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 18:02

Digital screwed me over last time so I've been wary... Will test again Monday and if it's not significantly darker assume left over Hcg I think.

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 17:59

Yeah I think you are right - or its a chemical or something. I just felt like they thought I was stupid for being there and they clearly didnt want to refer me... Should have gone with my gut! Just need so closure so badly now Sad

OP posts:
BenScalesIsAGod · 21/05/2020 17:32

To be honest in 6 days the hcg should have increased enough to get a positive on another test. Try a digital. If it’s not positive then I think it’s unlikely to be a new pregnancy Sad

BenScalesIsAGod · 21/05/2020 17:29

It’s definitely darker. Why did you wait for bloods?

Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 16:21

Or am I being an obsessive fool?!! Happy to be told so!

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 16:20

So here us a pic of two tests 6 days apart - the first into and the most recent. It's a terrible grainy camera in an ancient temporary phone and the lines are all very obviously pink even if they don't look it here! Sorry top one is also in the sun so all in all a crap photo! But I think stronger no? Definitely isn't getting lighter...

@SkyBlue20 they are quite similar really but today's seems a little stronger. I'll try and take a pic later. Nothing on the Ic this morning though. I am feeling sore stretchy pains in my uterus but our bodies have been through so much I think it's impossible to define symptoms really. Everything is just trying to reset I guess

I agree - we have come so far Smile sending period vibes your way!

@workinghmama1 they offered bloods yesterday but I said I'd wait until next week. I thought I was making a sensible decision but I realise now it was because they had made me feel like I was silly and that they thought I was lying about the positive tests.
I'll arrange some for next week if nothing has changed.
So glad your symptoms have calmed down
I hope you don't end up needing the meds but it's good you have them in case xxxxx

Workingmama1 · 21/05/2020 13:54

@SkyBlue20 so true on how far we have come. For me at least time really has been a healer, and also talking to this lovely bunch and not feeling alone x

Workingmama1 · 21/05/2020 13:51

@smilingdonkey I'm guessing they aren't offering blood tests at checl HCG levels st the moment but you could ask? That would give a pretty definite answer one way or the other.

Got my antibiotics, but the dr said to only use if I kept getting symptoms and I'm not getting discharge now... think it is happening after sex which apparently can trigger it so will see what happens this weekend. It alsp says no sex while you are using it as you apply it internally so once I start thats it for 5 days...

Although I'm not sure if I might be about to start my period, having a few period type aches and boobs looked perter this morning. It would be 4 weeks tomorrow from when I started bleeding so not impossible, but i was still getting a faint positive on Monday so unlikely. It's all so confusing!

It's looking like we will have to self isolate for 2 weeks from Saturday as DH is having an operation in two weeks and that is how they are keeping covid out of the hospital. But I guess it's not like we were really going anywhere anyway!

SkyBlue20 · 21/05/2020 13:44

Afternoon all!

@smilingdonkey So is each one getting darker and darker? How dark are they now? Are you just doing first response now or less sensitive ones too? Sorry, all the questions!

@Sakura54 Hope your period is here soon 🤞🏼 I still wouldn’t be surprised if mine rears its head soon as feeling very bloated and horrible which is always a sign but equally trying to not get my hopes up. The bleeding seems to have been fully stopped for around a week now so hopefully it’s all going in the right direction!

It’s just occurred to me that we’re now on the conception board rather than the miscarriage one and it gave me a little smile - how far we have come, ladies even though at times it really felt like we’d never get here 💕

Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 11:13

@Sakura54 well done for the impressive willpower! It's very very slightly stronger. Probably nothing but impossible to ignore Confused they said nothing really. I will call Gp on Monday if this continues xx

OP posts:
Sakura54 · 21/05/2020 10:57

What symptoms are you getting? @Smilingdonkey still getting stronger, that's interesting. I can understand why you don't want to be hopeful but surely HCG shouldn't be increasing. Did they say to call them back next week or has it been left like this?

@SkyBlue20 still waiting for my period and hoping my cycles will regulate fairly quickly. Hope you get a BFN tomorrow! I'm still not going to bother testing.

Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 10:23

@britannah why can't they just say? They could have saved a whole appointment and stress if they had had this conversation with me over the phone. I know the Nhs is chronically underfunded but they really do waste resources sometimes! I felt like they felt I was wasting their time - but had they talked to me about test sensitivity they could have wasted until I had a positive on a normal test and then scanned!!

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 21/05/2020 10:19

@skyblue20 learn from my mistakes! Don't Have unprotected sex until you have that negative! I'm going crazy here... caved and did another frsp with second morning urine and it's a tiny bit stronger than yesterday... But cheap tests show BFN. Bloody nightmare. I'm trying so hard to not be hopeful... Can't even tell my partner how crazy I am going. Honestly starting to make up pregnacy symptoms now - I really am making them up I'm sure! All for a massive disappointment when period arrives which is so stupid became a week ago I was desperate for it to come! Agggggghhhhh!!!!

OP posts:
Britannah · 20/05/2020 21:16

@Smilingdonkey I’m so sorry there are no retained products, must be such a relief but I can imagine until you get either a negative or a definite new positive your mind will be all over the place.

Just wanted to say that they were definitely lying about the NHS tests. When I tested post MVA I tested on a First Response twice and kept getting a line (although it seemed to be fading slightly!) when I spoke to the EPU they said that the NHS ones weren’t as sensitive and as long as I got a negative on them I was fine. How frustrating they told you otherwise xx

SkyBlue20 · 20/05/2020 20:37

@smilingdonkey Yes, so hard to be nice to yourself and accept the lack of control! I’m a massive planner and am really impatient so the whole pregnancy and miscarriage thing has been really hard in that sense too - I hate not being in control!
Yes, bodies must be all over the place, I imagine. I do feel back to normal for the most part I think so will be surprised if it’s still positive but then you just don’t know, do you?! Once again I’m just being impatient now and want my period to arrive and leave so we can start TTC. I’m also wanting to DTD as it’s been SO long (we didn’t do it at all through pregnancy as were too nervous 😬) but am a bit nervous to until I get that negative - I feel like that will draw a line under everything and be the end of the miscarriage and mentally I can’t do anything until then as I’m worried about infection. It’s such a rollercoaster!!
