Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

How is everyone today?

Im still getting some pelvoc pain but no other infection or BV symptoms so no idea what is going on! It was bad enough to take a pain killer and use a hot water bottle last night...

For those of us getting to 4 weeks plus from MC and TTC again have you thought about how you will cope with waiting for AF to arrive? It struck me today I'm now 4 weeks post MC but no idea when AF will show, I suspect I ovulated a week ago so its likely to be at least another week. Anything later than that do I assume my cycle is just messed up or if it worth testing im case we got lucky?

mrsAndeke · 23/05/2020 15:39

@SkyBlue20 before DTD drunk a couple of guns to relax you and get lube out, you'll be okay xxx

SkyBlue20 · 23/05/2020 15:35

Thank you, @mrsAndeke, just the sort of thing I needed to hear. I really do want to, I’m just nervous! 🙈

@Sakura54 Need to speak to husband but I think probably condoms. It’s SO tempting to be like ‘sod it, if we get pregnant, we get pregnant’ but I think I’d just worry if they couldn’t date things properly and just be constantly anxious about whether everything was ok. Plus I kind of want just a small while not worrying about pregnancy related things (but ideally no longer than a week or two 😂). I reserve the right to change my mind though 😂

Sakura54 · 23/05/2020 13:57

@mrsAndeke I left such a depressing post when I left lol. It was a good thing I didn’t make a new thread when I saw it was getting full as I wanted to go to my scan first! Sorry this happened to you too. What a cruel, cruel thing.

I don’t use OPKs, but as you're TTC before your period returns, maybe just leave the OPKs for now and DTD like twice a week, as our bodies are just all over the place and it sounds confusing?

@SkyBlue20 Yay for your BFN! I’m eager to use my app too to see if my cycle settles quickly. Regarding DTD, I understand why you’re worried about infection, which I doubt you’ll get, but maybe use the withdrawal method for now or are you planning to use condoms?

@Smilingdonkey How late were your periods with the CPs? Did you have 3 in a row or was this before having your DC? We can get help and tests done as CPs are still MCs.

mrsAndeke · 23/05/2020 13:50

@SkyBlue20 me and hubby DTD 2 weeks after MVA (day after bleeding stopped) not to sore at all even though I was anxious and nervous, we did use lube though just to make it smooth running 😂 I had no bleeds after x

SkyBlue20 · 23/05/2020 13:34

Afternoon all! Just had a bout of energy so did yoga and went for a run and now I’m meant to clean the house but foresee an afternoon of Netflix on the cards instead!

@workingmama1 Big shop and Hello Fresh sounds like a good isolation plan, hope there’s plenty more gin for the next two weeks, too! I cannot believe 6th June is only two weeks away, this year has passed in such a haze so far. Very strange year.

@Smilingdonkey That sounds like a plan - you could drive yourself crazy testing all the time and still not really get any answers, leave it for a while (though easier said than done, I know!) and hopefully the next time you test it’ll give you an answer once and for all. Must be tough, sending strength!

@mrsAndeke Afraid I can’t help as have never used them but sure some of the others will be able to ☺️

So after my two little droplets of blood yesterday, there’s been nothing at all since. I just want my period and to get on with TTC, damnit! That said, I have a hurdle to overcome first... I think this weekend we might DTD for the first time since February (😳😬 we were so nervous to through pregnancy - we said we’d wait until after the 12 week scan - and then I just didn’t want to through all this!) but I’ve built it up in to a massive thing in my head - someone knock some sense in to me and tell me that three weeks after the MVA is fine to go for it?! I keep thinking ‘but what if I get an infection, what if it aggravates more bleeding’ and every other thing I can worry about! 🙈 I’m such a worrier with this sort of thing!

mrsAndeke · 23/05/2020 13:15

Quick question?
Has anyone got a false peak on a clear blue digital? I did one yesterday and I had a peak, but with no high fertility to the peak, and then because I had an old test monitor from the previous pack I did another one today and it was a a blank circle? I'm just so confused!!!

Smilingdonkey · 23/05/2020 11:18

@workingmama1 I hope you have lots of yummy snacks ordered!

Smilingdonkey · 23/05/2020 11:15

Good morning all! I've made a decision after more tests with no change in strength. It's been 8 days of testing and nothing has massively changed except to possibly get a teeny bit stronger maybe..but I'm beginning to doubt myself there too. I have two more tests, one crappy and one FRER. I will take them on Monday and then I will buy no more for a whole week and of still no charge will call docs. By then I will be six weeks since ERPC and well over since miscarriage started. I can't bring myself to go to the docs until I have waited out to the 6 week point!

I can't keep up this obsessive worry! To be honest I just keep wishing for a period now so I can start a fresh cycle.

Thank you for all your support
Xx

Sorry that should say topical antibiotics not typical! It's a specific gel so wouldn't go anything if it was a uterus infection.

Workingmama1 · 22/05/2020 22:16

Not started antibiotics yet as apart from the pelvic pain (which wouldn't be caused by BV which is what I've got specific typical antibiotics for) I've not got symptoms right now as no bad discharge. Plus once I start it's no alcohol and no sex! I'm not sure what is causing the pain, the fact that I had no retained products and I had it in my last cycle means I'm trying not to get concerned about an infection which was my biggest worry. I only had two periods after having my daughter to getting pregnant (and it was a 31 day cycle!) so I have no idea what is normal for me!

Our 14 days self isolation starts tomorrow as DH's operation confirmed for 6th June. We've done a big shop and have hello fresh to hopefully see us through.

So for now it's a nice G&T now DD is in bed!

SkyBlue20 · 22/05/2020 20:29

@workingMama Yay for your negative, too - it’s over for us both and we can start to move on 💕 Have you been taking your antibiotics? Guess they might take a couple of days to kick in? Sorry to hear about the pelvic pain, too - what do you feel is causing it? Hope everything settles for you soon. Xx

Has everyone got some nice long weekend plans? Xx

Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 18:47

Congrats on the negatives @SkyBlue20 and @workingmama1 Must be such a good feeling to be free and able to move forward a bit xxxxxxx

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 18:46

@MrsRothery I can't believe how long it all went on for for you. Here's to moving forward finally xx

@Hettie1981 hi! Don't rush yourself. We are still so early on and it's all still very raw. There is no right way to move on. Some people want to wait and some want to TTC straight away Smile

@MURU really hoping for some clarity for you soon. It's the not knowing that's the worse isn't it?

@sakura54 I had a couple of chemicals I think. I personally found it reassuring to know and it's not like a miscarriage where you get used to the idea of pregnancy of you see what I mean. I now just see the first few tests as a possible pregnancy instead and then didn't find the chemicals particularly hard - no harder than the period coming that is!

OP posts:
Workingmama1 · 22/05/2020 16:33

Aww @Smilingdonkey I've been thinking of you. Hopefully Monday you can either get a blood test or a digital can give you some answers.

So pleased you got your negative @skyblue20, I tested today and got one too.

So my discharge is no longer smelly but is back to egg white consistency but tinged with brown? I'd post a picture but it might be TMI. I suspect it will change again when we next dtd as BV can be triggered by sex. But then I have been getting pelvic pain, I remember in the cycle I conceived I got it mid cycle, I was tracking it to see if I could work out what was triggering it (put it down to ovulationor sex but wasn't sure). Or I could be getting stomach ache due to my crappy diet right now! Honestly last night I looked about 4 months pregnant I was so bloated! So I'm a bit confused...

Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 13:40

I need to try and forget for a couple of days!

Welcome to all our new members. Just getting the toddler to sleep and then I'm going to settle down and have a read of your posts Smile
Happy Friday to you all xxxx

Eeeeek, @smilingdonkey, it’s sounding quite positive! I really hope it is a new pregnancy, have my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏼

Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 12:29

Omg. Like a crazed addict I dipped an Ic. I could see a Vvv faint shadow which I have not had up until now. So I dipped another in the same wee. Same thing. So I walked to superdrug and bought bog standard 25mUi tests and there is a faint but definite line. I wasn't getting lines on these until now... I'm now feeling even crazier. Will buy a digital on Monday if it progresses. No longer testing on sensitive tests and sticking to a test the Dr would do - I will call docs only if I am convinced I would get a postive on their tests!
I wonder... I don't want to get hopes up but I can't help it!

Morning all!

@Workingmama1 How're you getting on? Hope your husband is ok and op is nothing too serious 💕

Welcome and so sorry for your loss, @mrsAndeke! Afraid I can't help as have never really tracked but good luck with everything 🤞🏼

Welcome and sorry for your loss also, @MrsRothery. I think it's completely personal choice as to when to try again. I personally am waiting for a period just so I have an idea of dates as it makes it easier to ensure baby is the right size etc and I also quite like the idea of waiting for it and having a fresh start afterwards. But if my period took too long to arrive, I'd probably just go for it tbh.

Welcome @MURU, I really hope you get some answers soon - the waiting is awful 💕

@Smilingdonkey Sending lots of love, can only imagine how tough this must be. I think waiting a bit before testing again is a good idea, see if there's an obvious change. Did you say you have pregnancy symptoms?

So this morning I got by BFN (on a second test - first one just didn't work, didn't show the control line or anything), I'm so happy and relieved it's officially over, almost two months to the day since we found out wed lost the baby. I also had a couple of droplets of blood and feel a bit crampy so I'm not sure if that's my period arriving or not, will have to keep an eye on it. I would love it if it were so fingers crossed 🤞🏼Is it sad that I'm excited to start using my Ovia app again? 😂

mrsAndeke · 22/05/2020 09:52

@Sakura54 yes I do remember, I wasn't too long after you ❤️ I had seen a heartbeat at 7+5 and then went to a private scan at 10weeks to find baby stopped at 8+3 😢, I did have peak on my ovulation test this morning but don't know if I flooded the test or not I am a bit over cautious atm, but we are tracking and ttc as I don't want to wait.

Sakura54 · 22/05/2020 09:43

@Smilingdonkey I do hope you get a darker line next test. Maybe wait longer so that there will be a significant difference? Get your OH to hide your tests! Or just get that blood test. TBH its irrelevant if the line changes after the specified amount of minutes you’re supposed to wait.

Even when my period is late I wait about a week before testing as I read that that was when you were supposed to test! The last time I got pregnant, I was 99% sure it would be a BFP but still waited for days to test to be sure. I’m considering testing earlier though to see if I have chemical pregnancies. I’ve had 2 instances where my period was odd/late, so who knows.

@SkyBlue20 Absolutely. We may still be waiting for our periods but its just time to move on from such a depressing thread right. Not sure if anyone will post there again.

You must be curious to find out what your cycle is like? Although hopefully you won’t get to find out again lol!

Hi @mrsAndeke another one from our Nov pregnancy thread! Do you recognise my name? Apparently it may take up to 2 months to ovulate and even longer for our cycles to regulate.

MURU · 22/05/2020 09:42

@Smilingdonkey I think I'm at the exact same stage as you waiting for a negative test so I know I can try again.. This mornings test was very faint have my bloods on Wed too so hopefully that will confirm.

Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 08:32

Scrap that. Went back to look at test and it darkened and is the same now. But I'm convinced that the length of time it took is a good thing as it shoes Hcg is dropping. Feel so down this morning though. I just want to feel normal again! I'm a teacher and this happened on the first day of term and now it's the last day of term Sad

Smilingdonkey · 22/05/2020 08:10

@Britannah got a much lighter test this morning (0 willpower here!) so fingers crossed this is it and by Monday when I next test I will be free!!! That's how it feels I guess - like this is trapping me! Just want a period and to start tracking a cycle again!!! Xxxxxxx

OP posts:
Britannah · 22/05/2020 06:53

@Smilingdonkey That’s definitely a darker test and I just can’t help but feel that after 6 days, if that was from a pre existing pregnancy it would be lighter or barely existent now. I don’t want to give you false hope but do think your doing the right thing holding out a couple of days and trying a digi one....ooh the suspense is just too much.
