Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@Vik81 congratulations, how exciting, everything crossed for you.

@Ranoutofgoodnames - will be thinking of you tomorrow. That's rubbish your husband can't come with you, I really think some of these measures are a bit extreme. Everything crossed for good news.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 25/06/2020 19:12

@Workingmama1 and @Smilingdonkey thank you xxx

Scan is about half two I think. My husband can’t come to that or the follow up consultation with my doctor but I am hoping I can call him so he can listen. I still don’t have any symptoms at all and I took a clear blue digital test and it still says 2-3 and I think I should be up to 3+ now (so please don’t keep testing as it drives you mad!) so I guess the hcg hasn’t gone up much. I have also been googling and low hcg levels can indicate chromosome problems eg trisomy 13 which is what happened last time. But equally it could all be fine I know! I guess my age and the fact that I only had my last miscarriage mid-April makes it all feel inevitable

Although I should only be about 5 weeks plus five days so I am also concerned she won’t be able to tell anything conclusively from the scan

But you know. Staying positive 😂😂😂

xxx

@ranoutofgoodnames I have everything crossed for you tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. What time is your scan? Xxxx

@Ranoutofgoodnames will be thinking of you tomorrow with my fingers crossed for good news. How many weeks should you be now?

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 19:04

@Smilingdonkey I can see it clear as day on the first photo. I can understand not wanting to tell your DP just yet, I'm not sure what I will do when I (hopefully) get to see two lines again. Also amazing you got a faint line so early!

@Vik81 exciting! How many DPO are you?

Ranoutofgoodnames · 25/06/2020 19:03

@Sakura54 WOOHOO 🎉 that is lovely news!!! Stay calm. And if you do tell me how you do it.

@Smilingdonkey I respect your right to pee on sticks but totally and hypocritically recommend not. I have done it this time and did it last time. It doesn’t make any difference it seems to me in terms of the actual result.

@Vik81 congrats!!! Exciting times xx

I have my scan tomorrow. Unless I ovulated later than I think I did then I suspect it shal be ttc again soon - but am trying to feel not to sad and more like if it’s good news great if not then ok sad but also it’s a journey and this is but one step

But

Fuck me I don’t want bad news

Threnody · 25/06/2020 18:46

@Smilingdonkey - I love a bit of poas pron! :-)
I understand not telling dh, with a couple of my pregnancies I waited a day or so until the line was darker and I felt more settled with the idea.

Vik81 · 25/06/2020 18:46

Just got a positive pregnancy test after two miscarriages this year. Nervous and excited.

Smilingdonkey · 25/06/2020 18:40

Here it is. Looks more BFP in real life as always!

Well I'm testing constantly like a nutter! But I'm pretty confident it progressing now. Two days ago I took a FRER and there was a vvvvfl with FMU and Ives just got this with evening wee ... 🤞 I just need it to stick now!

I'm 9dpo according to app/temps but I think I am more like 10dpo if not more according to EWCM and cramps ...

Not told DP yet - is it weird to want to keep it to myself for a bit? I can't explain why? I just need to process it all and see if it all turns out ok.

@Smilingdonkey I can see it too, fingers crossed!! Love seeing the positive stories on this thread :-)

It’s never occurred to me to test so much but may be following your leads next time (hoping there’s a next time anyway!!)

Threnody · 25/06/2020 17:45

@Smilingdonkey I can see a line, definitely. Looking forward to seeing your next test!

I always keep testing
I test early, so keep testing to see line progression, then use a cb digital to find out weeks and wait for that to go up. Then I sometimes carry on testing, just to check!

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 15:27

@Sakura54 I also tested weekly once I had a nice clear line on a normal test i then used the CB digital weeks indicator to check that it progressed to 3+. My husband thought I was mad but it reassured me (but it still all went wrong last time!) I'd probably do the same again with an early scan around 8 weeks.

@Smilingdonkey I can see a line! Let us know how you get on with the FRER, I cant tell you to wait until tomorrow or even better Saturday as I know I would crack at do it today!

mrsAndeke · 25/06/2020 15:19

@Smilingdonkey I see the line! I deffo think this is real for you - I am so so happy for you!

@Sakura54 wooo congratulations to you too that is a very strong line!

I am only 7dpo but having weird cramps and twinges so I'm just crazy symptom spotting 😂 of course I POAS but was negative as it's too early so will most likely continue to POAS until my AF comes as I am a crazy lady ready to see a second line, and have 0 self control.

Smilingdonkey · 25/06/2020 15:10

@purplepansy ... I regret not having the early scan last time too. No idea why I was so anxious with my DD and ironically not at all really with the MMC pregnancy 😔

Thanks for the support guys! @workingmama1 that does make complete sense when you think about it like that!

Just got out this morning's test again to compare and now it's dried out it does look clearer I think! Starting to wonder if this might be a thing ... 🤞🤞🤞.

Going to go against all your sensible advice and go to Superdrug on the way to the park and buy FRER and will probably take one later 🙊🙄

PurplePansy05 · 25/06/2020 14:52

@Sakura54 I was testing weekly in my last pregnancy. Bought CB Digital How Many Weeks to monitor if HCG was rising weekly and it was which gave me peace of mind until I was around 6 weeks. Personally I found weeks 7-10 the hardest. For some reason I didn't go for a private scan, whuch I regret. Obviously my last pregnancy ended up being blighted ovum and I had MVA at just shy of 13 weeks, but that's pretty rare. I think looking back, I'd still test weekly till 6 weeks as I did before and then have a private scan. It gave me the right balance between testing and reassurance.

Sakura54 · 25/06/2020 14:39

Thanks all! Didn’t even expect to ovulate straightaway let alone this. DH isn’t scared at all not surprisingly, just the usual positivity lol. I want to continue being my usual calm self but gosh the MMC only just happened the other day! I already have a lot of pregnancy issues so this is just another thing to add to the list. If only I could forget it ever happened.

@PurplePansy05 For you to be able to keep going shows how strong and resilient you are. It’s great that it doesn’t take long for you to catch. For me it somewhat softened the blow so I wasn’t ever worried about TTC.

@Smilingdonkey About 17 DPO hence the darkness of the line. Usually I wait until past 20 lol!

I saw from my last pregnancy thread that women keep testing when they’re deffo pregnant. Do you guys think I should test again next week or is it pointless?

Going to find a pregnancy thread to tentatively join (probably going to unintentionally scare first timers with my realistic views lol), but like I said the other day, I’m going to hang around here and hope you guys will join me soon. I know you will.

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 14:20

Ahhhhh @Sakura54 that's undeniably positive!

@Smilingdonkey try not to stress too much about line progression, when I rang the epu the other week worrying about a cp she said sometimes if you catch it early the doubling every two days has such a low starting point that you don't get obvious progression straight away. Makes sense, 5 to 10 isn't a big leap but 150 to 300 is.

We've just spent a lovely morning at the zoo, I was so excited for my daughter to see lions at she literally didn't give two shits about them! But she loved the giraffe and the sea lions. We back onto a farm so she sees cows and horses every day so think an animal must need to be unusual for her to care 🤷‍♀️

Those of you in the FW good luck, no way I could summon the energy to dtd in this heat!

Threnody · 25/06/2020 14:01

@Sakura54 congratulations, that's a great line!

@Starfish762 I was rubbish at taking my prenatal vitamins and was very overweight, and worry that was what caused the miscarriage. And of course, we'll never know. It's so difficult not to feel guilty about what we have/haven't done. Even though it was just one of those things.

Had a video meeting with my manager, and we were talking about the pubs opening and my children's nursery opening, and she said my oh and I could go out for lunch, then made a comment about getting some news from me in a few months and saying, ah it was that boozy lunch. Which was just really awkward, and I didn't really know how to respond.

Chatbash72 · 25/06/2020 12:54

The trip to Paris was NOT this year... was about 5 years ago.. congratulations on the bfps ladies 💕💕

Chatbash72 · 25/06/2020 12:46

Too many ladies to tag in my comment.. trying to catch up, but yes hubbies 😱😱😱 what is it about their comments.. we had a very delayed honeymoon, a few days in Paris we had lost our little one in the jan and it was June... I should have been waddling about and he seemed to think that it was my fault we weren't preg yet... seems to think that because we don't dtd for the whole month, that's why we haven't gotten pregnant. I tend to not want to the week before af is due but couldn't get preg then anyway.. when I did catch last cycle he freaked out but calmed down and now says that it's selfish of me to want to keep trying. He can be very selfish with his time I tend to do 99% of everything so it would t impact him anyway.. I am ignoring him because he still wants to dtd... why are they so ahhhh 😱😱😱
Sending love to all you lovely ladies... currently in later stages of tww xxx

PurplePansy05 · 25/06/2020 12:20

Also I tend to drink spritzes these days, both wine, aperol etc. and reduced to single gins. You can still have as many drinks as your girlfriends, but half the alcohol and no hungover 👌

PurplePansy05 · 25/06/2020 12:18

@Starfish762 But honestly, it's impossible for it to have a negative effect even if you conceive. It won't affect the quality of your egg either, you'd have to be going out drinking regularly for a long period of time, certainly in the 3 months before TTC, for it to affect your eggs. And I mean, you'd have to drink a lot in that time. A one-off every fortnight or a few drinks on the weekend really won't change anything. Give yourself a well-deserved break.
