CD1 - here we go again! Buddies welcome.

Hi, thought I’d start a fresh CD1 thread as af has turned up today. I’m starting to feel a bit lonely in the other group I’m in as there have been loads of BFPs and I’m quite behind now because of longer cycles!

I’m 27 in 12 days, dh is 28.
Came off the pill in August, cycles messed up ever since, getting longer.
Technically cycle 5 of ttc.
Never had a positive pg test ever, so I’m eagerly awaiting that day!

Hoping this group is a support system for anyone starting out a new cycle 💜

@slimshadyscousin ahh I can't wait for that feeling 😊 have you told any of your friends or family or are you waiting?

@newbie0818 hopefully once you get your blood test this week you get some answers and might start to feel better. Thanks for the info on the temp stuff, I'm gonna have a look!

@dogmam sorry, forgot to say, I use a Femometer digital thermometer I go on Amazon and just input the temps on Flo and Fertility Friend each morning when I wake up.

@dogmam it really hasn’t sunk in yet as I was not expecting it! I did wake up the other morning and just thought ‘I’m pregnant’ but test didn’t show anything so I’m guessing that’s when implantation took place. Enjoy your gin I am a little jealous! ☺️

Sorry @dogmam for missing your message yesterday. I got my BFP! It started off very faint but I have taken three more tests since and getting progressively darker 😊 I’ve attached a pic.

@newbie0818 yeah, I suppose when you're on the pill you just don't really think about potential problems do you, because cycles are pretty much regulated by the pill and like you say, potentially masking a problem. It's so annoying that we don't find out issues until we want to try for a baby!
I don't temp, might look into it through, what do you use for that? I'm thinking about starting to track RHR. Something else to obsess over haha

@dogmam I was on it for 11 years, but I’m starting to think it was masking underlying issues maybe. My mum said she’s always had irregular periods so perhaps something hormonal 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s annoying as they were regular 28 days before 😒 I’m finally having my blood test to check everything out next week so I’m really hoping that will help.
That must be frustrating with the opk’s, just keep testing I guess and hopefully you’ll have some answers soon. Do you temp?

How did you get on with your test this morning? @slimshadyscousin

Only done one month of tracking, just using the cheap amazon strip ovulation tests. So this is the start of cycle 2 properly tracking, although not a good start with being 10 days late because I don't have a clue how that will affect when I ovulate which means even more stressing over tracking!

@newbie0818 how long were you on the pill for? I bet that's hard having no consistency with when your period is due. I've been lucky after being on the pill for years and years that mine have been regular 28 days (apart from this month).

@dogmam sorry about af, but onwards and upwards for the next cycle. And yes I’m so excited about our pup! We’ve waited so long for him, can’t wait to finally pick him up. I’m sure you will have enough love for both of your babies 💜

@slimshadyscousin I wish I was in my fw, but my cycles are so long that I’m still waiting. Pic of my chart attached for fun! (Dunno why it keeps saying 13 May). We’ve been DTD every other day religiously so hopefully I’ll catch it. Last month I ovulated on cd43 so there could be a long journey ahead 😒

At least it answers your question @dogmam and like you say you can move on. AF is almost a relief at the end of the TWW as it stops the guessing and I do relax and have a drink! 🍸

I’m going to try but I think because it’s getting close I will probably test every day now until AF comes, I just can’t stop myself 😳 we are on cycle 2 of ‘properly’ TTC after previous half arsed attempts. I tried to do the whole ‘if it happens it happens’ relaxed TTC but it is not in my nature at all 😂

What about you, have you been trying since you came off the pill in October?

@slimshadyscousin yeah, finally today, 10 days late! To be honest I'm pleased I can just start again as the four bfn kind of confirmed things anyway.
Still early days for you, maybe wait a couple of days before you retest. How long have you been trying for?

Hi ladies! Tested again today as I am 9DPO and was feeling some really strong twinges yesterday but still a BFN for me! How are you all getting on?

Has AF showed up for you @dogmam ?

@newbie0818 waiting a week to test is easier said than done haha but I will, unless AF appears in the meantime. Bet you can't wait to get your puppy! We got a rescue dog last year and he is like the child I don't have, I actually worry that when a real baby comes along how I will give my dog the same attention as he gets now!

Hi @dogmam a lot of people’s cycles seem to be on a rollercoaster since lockdown for some reason. If still no af in a week I’d test again. Hopefully it’s a bfp!

Thanks @slimshadyscousin I really don't feel stressed at all, well other than the fact I'm late, but actually I'm super chilled when it comes to everything else. Blazing sunshine working from home in the garden - happy days!

Hi, thought I would jump on here and join if that's ok. I'm 29 and partner (of 13 years) is 30, I came off the pill in October.

Similar to you @emmaA91 I'm actually 9 days late, so kind of stuck in limbo! Ever since coming off the pill I've had regular 28 day cycles and so when I was late I was overjoyed... but 4 tests later and now I'm just confused!!

Desperately trying not to test!!

@Newbie0818 I wish I could go out, my hay fever has gone into overdrive the last couple of days so I can’t even have my back door open. So frustrating when the weather is so lovely!

I caved and tested early and it was of course a BFN. I’m only 7 DPO so don’t even know why I did it other than because I am a loon. 😂

Yes, we’ve waiting a long time for our pup and he’ll finally be ready to come home in 3 weeks! He’s a miniature Yorkshire terrier 😍
