Hi guys,

This is my first post on mumsnet. I have recently stopped taking the pill (microgynon) on 22/04/20 and i had my withdrawal bleed from 24/04 to the 27/04. I am now waiting for my 1st period which is due in just over a week. My and my OH have decided the time is right and want to TTC just wondering if there is anyone else in the same boat on here 🙂

@MintGreenLife @KatieG200394 sorry to hear about your weddings, I can only imagine the worry of having to rearrange everything again, I'm still on a few wedding groups on Facebook and some poor brides can't get their venues for the new dates 😔. Wishing everyone the best of luck with their ttc journey! X

L4yl4 · 13/05/2020 10:27

Hey all, new here Blush - I have also recently come off Cerelle (4 weeks ago exactly). No period, no withdrawal bleed, no spotting NOTHING! I think I’ve had signs of ovulation (tmi) ie EWCM but not certain. Tried using OPK’s - all of which have been negative (albeit that some have been darker than others, but not dark enough to be a positive). Please send me some patience because honestly I’m not the most patient person in the world Grin

KatieG200394 · 12/05/2020 22:27

@MintGreenLife tbh, at first I was pretty disheartened and still am a little bit, I'm more worried about whether or not the suppliers will all be free on the same day if we do have to rearrange but I agree, even if ours can go ahead there is no way we can safely social distance 100 people so I've decided to try and stay positive, what will be will be, trying not to stress over it now, I've come to terms with the fact its more than likely going to be postponed 😫 but that's okay, how about you? And exactly, why not make the best we can out of our situations by ttc now instead of later, its something else exciting to stay positive for and to look forward to, its definitely made me a lot happier to start ttc as it takes my mind off the pressure of family/friends asking about what's happening with the wedding when in reality I know as little as they do about it, good luck with your ttc journey Smile xx

MintGreenLife · 12/05/2020 21:17

@KatieG200394 ah that's so funny that you've come to the exact same decision as us, and that your wedding is booked for the same time. How have you been feeling about it all? I've not really been able to plan anything or even really think about the wedding since this all kicked off as it just makes me feel too blue 😔 I'm finding a lot of friends/family seem to be feeling positive that everything will be fine to go ahead by September, whereas I think it's easier to be realistic and accept that it's not likely to be possible, or if it is would require some pretty major changes to plans to be able to maintain social distancing etc. All very strange. Think we are making the best out of our situations by cracking on with TTC :) xx

KatieG200394 · 12/05/2020 19:18

@MintGreenLife I'm in a similar position to you too, our wedding is also booked for September and we were going to wait to start ttc after that but as things are unclear about what's happening about weddings right now, we too just thought we'll start ttc now and if I end up pregnant by the time the wedding comes round then that's fine 😁 xx

Squidge12 · 12/05/2020 19:15

@Gizzy23 aww very similar time too Smile. The first week I noticed cramping but very minimal, haven’t had much since. I feel like I’ve got more energy but not sure if that’s because I’ve started taking some vitamins. Have you had any symptoms?

@overthinking88 hopefully it’s as quick as that this time round!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/05/2020 18:45

@ Gizzy23 - Stopped pill (Rigevidon) on 15th March. Withdrawal bleed 19th / 20th March then nothing. Stopped using condoms start of May (didn't want to get pregnant before May cause of other life plans). Took a pregnancy test on approx 4th May just in case condoms had failed but not pregnant. So period AWOL but TTC. Dont yet know if ovulating at all as tests for that havent arrived!

My plan from here is 1) have a bunch of sex 2) once ovulation tests arrive, test a lot at the start 3) keep using Natural Cycles app for temperature etc 4) get myself to GP if period doesn't arrive in another month or so 5) take a pregnancy test every so often to check

overthinking88 · 12/05/2020 18:42

Hi! Wanted to add as I'm in a similar situation, and no one to talk to even though I'm so excited.

Took my last pill (Yasmin) on 3rd May. Finishing my withdrawal bleed today. Have been on the pill about 4 years since DD was born. Was on it about 13 years previous to that!

Last time I came off the pill I was pregnant 3 months later- very difficult not to try and compare this time round!

Gizzy23 · 12/05/2020 18:34

@TheDaydreamBelievers Wow your having a really long cycle. When did you come off the pill? Did you have a withdrawal bleed or just nothing?

@Squidge12 I am just in front of you stopped the pill on the 22/04. Wishing for next week to hurry up thats when AF is due.
Have you had any symptoms from coming off the pill?

Squidge12 · 12/05/2020 18:04

@LittleRa aww it’s nice to know someone with similar dates! Hopefully we get AF soon or actually get pregnant!! Are you TTC or waiting for first AF?
My OPKs are saying low at the moment, wish there was some sort of sign!

MintGreenLife · 12/05/2020 17:05

@Butterfly2105 - sounds like we are in the exact same situation! Our wedding is planned for September, but we've decided to start TTC as we're really uncertain as to whether it's going to go ahead at the moment. We've waited two months to see if there would be any indication when weddings might go ahead again, and so like you have finally decided that we can't put our lives on hold and so now if it does go ahead and I'm pregnant then that's that!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/05/2020 16:56

Hello @Gizzy23 and all! I'm in the same position, just off the pill. Now CD 55 with no period Hmm. Have ordered ovulation tests which I will use regularly when they arrive just to see what the heck is going on! Like several of the others, I am also on "Mumsnet TTC (trying to conceive) Cycle 1 Club" thread Smile

Newmummyxx · 12/05/2020 14:47

@Butterfly2105 I came off cerazette in December and got my withdrawal bleed 30 days later, my first period arrived 32 days after that. I had never had a period for over 10 years before that. Good luck to all of you ladies. x

Luxc90 · 12/05/2020 14:34

@Butterfly2105 I think they only advise waiting for a natural period so they can date the pregnancy better! We're trying to decide whether to crack on too or wait for a period, I've seen some ladies on here who waited 60days for it and I don't think I'm that patient lol!

Butterfly2105 · 12/05/2020 11:19

Hi, I came off the pill nearly 3 weeks ago and no sign of my withdrawal bleed which is odd as in the past when I haven’t been consistent with my pill I.e. missed a day or two by accident I’ve had a bit of a bleed!! I have been on cerazette for approx 12 years. Getting married this year but decided to start TTC now even if it means I’m pregnant when we get married. We’ve started already even though some of the advice says to wait until after your first natural period.

LittleRa · 12/05/2020 11:07

@Squidge12 You’re almost exactly same dates as me. Hi 👋

Higgeldypiggeldy35 · 12/05/2020 11:05

@Gizzy23 I did a test this morning and it was negative so I'm very confused now. It might have been a chemical pregnancy unfortunately. Still feel pregnant though so will test again in a couple of days if my period doesn't come

MintGreenLife · 12/05/2020 09:46

@Gizzy23 I must say I was pretty surprised, think it was purely a coincidence that it came the same day my Glow app said it would. Have you started TTC or are you waiting to get your period first? Like many above I don't think I've ever wanted my period to come so much before. After 13 years without 'proper' periods, I'm very intrigued to see what this one is like. It's like learning about your body all over again.

Gizzy23 · 12/05/2020 00:36

@Luxc90 I know i have never really been the maternal type then all of a sudden it just came on so strong and i dont want to wait any longer. I was going to wait until next week when i will hopefully have AF come along and then go from there. I don't want to stress myself out with the tracking though.

@Squidge12 Can totally relate to the time going so slowly feel like i finished the pill ages ago but it really wasn't. Its funny how before you didn't want a period now wishing for it to come

@MintGreenLife wow that's really good that your period is back already, hopefully your body is getting back to normal. Im not too sure about tracking either it looks and sounds quite stressful

Me ☺️ I came off the pill on the 7th of April and had with withdrawal bleed 5 days later. I've actually just got my first proper period today, which I was very surprised about as my glow app predicted it would be today, after I guessed my cycle length at 30 days. Kind of disregarded what the app said but then much to my surprise it came like clockwork. Was on the pill for 13 years before I stopped in April.

We were waiting until after I got my period to TTC. I haven't started using ovulation sticks or anything yet but think I may start from CD5 or a few days after. Let me know if anyone has any tips for tracking ovulation etc, as it all looks rather confusing!

I'm taking folic acid and vitamin D but no prenatal supplement as read they can make your cycle longer so thought I would try without first

Squidge12 · 11/05/2020 22:19

Hey... I finished pill 26/4, had withdrawal bleed 1/5 for 4 days. I’ve started using OPKs but not had anything show up yet so not really sure what my body is doing. We are DTD but sorta want AF to arrive so can track a bit more easily! The weeks seem to go by so slowly! Good luck everyone xx

Justkeepswimming91 · 11/05/2020 21:45

I've been on the pill ten years and can't really remember what my cycle was like pre pill although thinking about if I had missed periods I think I would have remembered as being 18 at the time I probably would have panicked. This would be our first. My DH is 32.

Luxc90 · 11/05/2020 21:23

@Gizzy23 thank you! I just turned 30 as well, hubby is coming 33 so want to get started soon rather than, especially if it takes a few months. It's funny how much my maternal feelings came through when I turned 30! Are you going to track ovulation with opks? I'm still getting my head around them! Fingers crossed our bodies go back to normal quickly 🤞

Gizzy23 · 11/05/2020 21:12

@KatieG200394 Yea i have been taking pregnacare conception as well i have found them really good hoping to get my body ready for it. I have got premom now so probably stick to that one and see how i get on.

@Higgeldypiggeldy35 Congratulations 🎉🎊 i really hope it all works out well for you. It happened really quickly which is really good signs 🙂

@jbx10 i have had some pains in my lower abdomen this month, not too sure if they were ovulation pains or not. I have been on the pill so long can't remember what they were even like.

@Justkeepswimming91 you and me both i didn't know there was so much involved with ttc it has blown my mind. DPO is days post ovulation so when people say they are in the two week wait it means they know what day they ovulated on by using tests and now they are seeing if they get any pregnancy twinges or symptoms.

@Luxc90 congratulations on your wedding 🎉 this will be our first baby as well. We are due to be married in 2022 and was going to wait till after the wedding but i just turned the big 30 and have such maternal urges so we decided to go for it now.

@LittleRa sounds lovely that you will be having your 1st one with your partner. This was my first month off as well and don't think too much happened. I am due AF in a week so was just going to see if that comes and go from there
