Awaiting blood results can someone calm me :(

I'm absolutely overwhelmed with anxiety and this is only my first cycle trying.

Over the last month now this has been ongoing and not sure how much longer I can take it. Last AF was 20th March, got blood tests done on Tuesday AM and the results were meant to be in on Thursday, which they aren't and receptionist just said phone back Monday! 🙈 I've had a mix of faint BFP and negatives over the last month, including a negative FRER this morning after a faint line yesterday morning, countless people saying chemical pregnancy or false bfp's and it should be this or that or this shade of test, but I've had no bleeding no pain no nothing. Feel at a dead end 😭. Can't do anything at the weekend either which is making it 100x worse. What do I do? Here are some of the faint bfp's I've had. Please only constructive replies as feeling very very emotional.

I’m not sure what area you’re in but there is often an EPU at a main hospital.
Or if you are possibly up to 3 weeks late meaning possibly as much as 7 weeks pregnant, is paying for a private early pregnancy scan an option?

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 12:27

Blood results * my last post should say. I don't know of any epu near me and don't want to annoy everyone with the Covid going on :( i would love to get a scan and see either way that's going on but I can't find anything on google for a epu

Thanks everyone. Just seen so many people on here say if you're x day late your test should look like this or it should do this and I'm just so confused on what's going on. I'll retest Monday and hopefully get bloods, if I don't get bloods I'll ask to speak to my docter again because I can't keep this up for many more days I need to know either way x

In the absence of any pain I think you will need to distract yourself as much a possible till you get to Monday. Netflix box set? New book? Sudoku puzzles? Anything.

Then on Monday, do you have EPAU you can self refer to? Or is that cancelled because of corona? In our local hospital (in normal times) you can just turn up and wait a few hours and you will be seen and scanned Maybe you could call and explain you are worried about an ectopic pregnancy and see what they say.

I’m so sorry, the uncertainty must be horrible.

Is your period not only about 3 weeks late? That happens sometimes. I can see very faint lines on a few of those tests. If the lines aren't progressing then it's possibly a chemical, or it could just be too early for a positive.

I know it's stressful ttc but you've been lucky to have blood tests. Many people aren't offered them unfortunately.

Good luck

You could always pay for a private scan to reassure you? At 7 weeks pregnant they might not quite see a heartbeat but definitely would see a pregnancy.

lucymagoo · 09/05/2020 12:20

I agree, it's normal to be worried in this situation. You're in the best hands and as hard as it is, sit tight, try and take your mind off it and know you're still in a very good position with it being your first cycle. Try not to dwell on the possibilities, sending love!Star

Oh that's heartbreaking I'm sorry to hear that. No advice really but don't sign off, most of the posters on here are super helpful xx

Gunpowder · 09/05/2020 12:19

Sorry x post

Gunpowder · 09/05/2020 12:18

I can absolutely see a line on the cheapy. Like Romantic I’d wait and retest in a couple of days if you can bear to.

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 12:18

@Romanticrights I've been doing that for a month now and it's just ridiculous now the amount of times I've ordered tests :( faint line then negative then faint line then negative. I'm terrified it's ectopic and it could be much worse. I don't know what to do x

I was actually going to say the opposite and can see faint lines on all of them including the FRER? I know it's so hard but maybe wait a couple of days and retest? Thanks

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 12:11

Maybe I need to get my eyes checked as I swear I seen pink on them. Going to sign off here as I can't find any comfort in this site x

I say this as gently as possible: I wouldn't say any of those tests are positive. There is no colour to the cheap one even though there is a line.

Obviously I hope you fall pregnant soon but I really think you need to consider some anxiety management strategies as conceiving is a seriously hard road for many people. It took me three YEARS and an IVF cycle and I would say I've been lucky - a friend of mine is in her 10th year and 7th ivf cycle.

Not only that, but I can absolutely confirm that the anxiety when trying has nothing on the anxiety of actually being pregnant.

For your own wellbeing, you need to try to find strategies that will help. There are some extremely helpful conception meditation things you can listen to on youtube which helped me a lot.
