Awaiting blood results can someone calm me :(

I'm absolutely overwhelmed with anxiety and this is only my first cycle trying.

Over the last month now this has been ongoing and not sure how much longer I can take it. Last AF was 20th March, got blood tests done on Tuesday AM and the results were meant to be in on Thursday, which they aren't and receptionist just said phone back Monday! 🙈 I've had a mix of faint BFP and negatives over the last month, including a negative FRER this morning after a faint line yesterday morning, countless people saying chemical pregnancy or false bfp's and it should be this or that or this shade of test, but I've had no bleeding no pain no nothing. Feel at a dead end 😭. Can't do anything at the weekend either which is making it 100x worse. What do I do? Here are some of the faint bfp's I've had. Please only constructive replies as feeling very very emotional.

@Hopingtobelucky thank you so much, sorry to hear you've been through this too. I feel actually really positive about it, it was my first cycle trying so I feel quite encouraged that I did manage to conceive that quickly. We are trying again in August due to our wedding being February so 🤞🏼 it will be quite quick (touch wood 😂) and hopefully between now and August my periods get into a shorter cycle as they have been quite long since coming off the pill, but my last cycle was 101 days and now 51 days so it's halved 😃I hope you get your BFP soon xxx

I was in a similar position last month, a few faint positive tests late period but then negative tests. After five days I called the dr and was booked in for a telephone consultation in the afternoon but then just before the call I started bleeding. I spoke to the dr and she was really lovely, said it sounds like an early miscarriage and that I should have called anyway so they can keep a record of it incase I need further tests in the future- my surgery refers for you investigations after three times so I think it's worth you speaking to them. The Dr also gave me worsening advice in case bleeding becomes very heavy, she said because I've already had a negative test there wasn't any need for any blood tests.
I don't know how you feel but after a long time trying we were in cloud nine to get a positive result but then when I got the negative I was sad but pleased we had managed to get pregnant in the first place as we were expecting to need fertility help and just wanted the period to start so we could get trying again but then when it happened I felt devastated which I didn't expect, after a few days I'd processed it and in my ovulation window this morning and trying every day. Hope you're ok and get any support you need, try and get a telephone call with your GP, mine also said they could point me in the direction of support services if I needed, I haven't needed them but good to know they exist if things were different.
Take care of yourself x

AF is in full swing today so definitely a chemical I think. Do I phone and ask to speak to the docters and tell them? Xxx

@lucymagoo thank you. Even if the bloods aren't back in tomorrow think I'll ask to speak to a doctor anyway as I've no clue what's going on and now coupled with the odd spotting that comes and goes 🙄

I agree, anyone would be anxious in your situation. Hoping it's good news tomorrow

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 15:47

@Allnamesaregone it's not the trying to conceive that's making me anxious, it's the faint positives and negatives for a month followed by waiting a week for blood test results which will tell me if I am or not, now along with some brown spotting. Anyone would be climbing the walls by now. If I had just gotten my period when I expected and wasn't pregnant I'd of been okay, it's just the waiting and not knowing what's going on with me just now that's making me on edge x

In the kindest way, it might be worth looking at ways to help your anxiety. You’re on such a early part of this journey.
Chronic stress causes increased levels of cortisol and adrenaline which puts your body into survival mode meaning it can affect conception.
It took me over a year to get pregnant the first time. We came to the conclusion after the first few months it was better to relax and enjoy the sex.

2020wish · 10/05/2020 15:17

Maybe try another one if it’s been a week x

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 15:12

@2020wish no last BD was 6th April :/ already took a digital a week or so ago said negative

@mrsgtobe97 any chance you could if ovulated way late and are still very early on and the brown spotting was implantation bleeding? I would suggest taking a digital as it will either say negative or positive and save you have to interpret a line

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 10:38

@Gunpowder thank you :) still just brown spotting when I wipe but no pain, also feel really off and unwell. Got a bit of a sore head quite tired, and my aerolas are really cracked and weepy. I have no idea whats going on with me x

TTC is such a minefield. I had faint positives and spotting once and it was a chemical pregnancy and then the second time it was twins! (They are two now). You never know. I’m sure lots of peoples cycles are all over the place due to corona related anxiety. I hope it’s good news for you tomorrow and if not I’m sorry and hope you get a bfp soon.

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 08:34

Don't know if anyone still following but the brown discharge is back this morning so not sure what going on. No red blood as yet x

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 17:03

Thank you :) , the spotting has gone and it was basically a tiny bit of brown blood, very confused :/ will see what comes of it later but maybe all is not lost. However fully ready for af to perhaps turn up tomorrow xx

CooperLooper · 09/05/2020 14:56

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get answers and a strong BFP soon. Trying to get pregnant is an awful whirlwind of emotions at the best of times, so I can really sympathise with what you're going through x

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 14:52

@Moominmiss thank you xx

@CooperLooper I came off in December and had my first period in March. I think it's chemical because I had faint positives that didn't progress, but I guess it means something happened so by the time we try again in August my periods should be in a rhythm xxx

OP posts:
CooperLooper · 09/05/2020 14:51

If this is your first cycle of trying, have you recently stopped taking contraception? I ask because when I started TTC I'd been on various forms of contraception so long that my cycles were all over the place for a while. Could it be your cycles are irregular from that and just trying to get back into a rhythm?

Moominmiss · 09/05/2020 14:46

I’m really sorry to hear that @mrsgtobe97. Sending you hugs xx

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 14:26

@ivfgottostaypositive not going to an epu, started spotting so probably a chemical I've had

OP posts:
ivfgottostaypositive · 09/05/2020 14:19

With such faint tests there is no point going to the EPU it just takes up valuable resources - hcg levels need to be over 1000 for a gestational sac to be visible so unfortunately it's a wait and see game right now.

I've had two ectopics both ruptured and honestly If you have one you definitely know about it as the pain isn't like anything you've ever experienced

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 14:15

Just went to toilet and some light spotting, think it was a chemical :/ see if it comes to anything x

OP posts:
ladymary86 · 09/05/2020 13:48

Can you try a digital pt???

lucymagoo · 09/05/2020 13:22

@mrsgtobe97 you've had positive tests! What would make you feel silly? I think it's worth the piece of mind but it's up to you. Sounds like a very confusing and stressful situation to be in :(

Moominmiss · 09/05/2020 12:59

Nobody doing a scan would ever think that. Nobody will be wanting to see you get bad news. They’d be super supportive I’d imagine.
You could always phone up and speak to them first and explain that at this point you aren’t sure what’s going on, that you may or may not be pregnant, have had several confusing tests, and that your mental health is taking a battering with the unknown. Explain that you’d just like to find out one way or another.
Could be worth considering. I really do have everything crossed for you xx

mrsgtobe97 · 09/05/2020 12:57

I'm in north east Scotland. I'd feel like such a divvy paying out £70 for someone to tell me I'm not pregnant and think I'm a loony, terrified of that :( I just feel stupid for all this because I don't know if I am or not.
