How long did it take you to conceive?
How old are you and do you have any medical conditions (endo, pcod etc?)

Just looking for people to share their experiences.

I'm 25 and it's been 5 months so far. Regular periods, no medical conditions. Think the first few months were all over the place since coming off the pill and my ovulation has only been normal for 3 cycles.

My first I was 21, fell straight away, he's now 14.
My 2nd I was 25 & it took me 2yrs, he's now 10.
I'm now 35 & have been having unprotected sex for nearly a year with no luck yet.
I'm aware that the older you are the harder it may be to fall, so feeling abit deflated & wonder if it will ever happen, as know my age & quality of eggs decrease my chance quite abit 😣 x

3 and a half years, 3 mc's. I have endo also.

TokyoSushi · 08/05/2020 20:31

For my first, 4 months, but I didn't really know how to do it, no idea about ovulation, fertile window, any of it! (I had to get a book! 😂)

Second, about 15 minutes

I was 25, not on the pill beforehand, no health issues, healthy BMI. It took us 9 months for the first kid. I was quite stressed worrying that things were wrong.

At 27 it took one night of letting standards slip to conceive DC2 Confused

I tell people it took 9 months on baby 1 and 9 minutes on baby 2 😂😂

First pregancy I was 27, we conceived the first month, had sex twice in the fertile week.
He's now 19 months.

I'm now 5 weeks pregnant with number 2, again, first motnh of trying and we only had sex twice in what i thought was the fertile week.

I'm 30, High bmi, but otherwise healthy.

I realise we have been so lucky reading everyone's stories on here.
I still feel like it's been too easy, like it's too good to be true, and I'm incredibly nervous this time round.

Had my 1st aged 33. Took 4 years and 3 rounds of Ivf - I'm fit and healthy but during my 3rd round of Ivf I was diagnosed with poor ovarian reserve.
Took 16 months to get pregnant naturally with my second but sadly ended in MC.

@meow1989 not at all! I'm just curious about the range of experiences of people that's all. I was told by my GP that it takes some longer than a year after coming off the pill and I'm fine with that. For a while I was sending myself insane but I've happily accepted that some will conceive straight away and for others it will take sometimes years.

For my first 34 - 2 months
Trying for my second at 36, 6 months in and no luck yet.
No known conditions, regular 28 day cycle

I'm not sure how helpful this thread will be op. If people reply with less time you will beat yourself up and worry.

What I will say is I was told (healthy, no real relevant medical conditions) that on average it takes 8 months to concieve.

LatteLover12 · 08/05/2020 19:38

A year for my first aged 26
A year for my second aged 31
18 months for this one aged 38 (currently 21 weeks pregnant)

It's totally normal for a perfectly fit and healthy couple to take a year or more to conceive.
