How long did it take you?

1st, age 24 same month I stopped the pill
Second age 32 second month trying
Third age 34 2 months trying - mc at 6/40
Fourth age 35 2 months trying

Since having the children I've been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis (autoimmune) and ADHD, wasn't on any meds at time of TTC apart from co codamol.

My friend is 39 (same as me) and is trying for no2 but been 18m and no luck so far.

I was 28, no medical conditions and it took 6 months.
Although I kept relying on the apps like Flo or Ovia to tell me when my fertile week was and after I started using ovulation tests realised that the app was way out so had been missing the peak time.
First month of using ovulation tests and I got pregnant! I now have 14week old twin daughters

Myself - 6 months, no health issues

One friend - 4 years, no health issues

Another friend - 6 years, no health issues and she'd just adopted a baby!

I have PCOS and a genetic condition which has a 50% chance of being passed on and if passed on baby is incompatible with life so here goes:
-1. Due to PCOS had no period for 6 months weren't actively trying but did want a baby had 1 Period then got pregnant aged 30,
2, again not actively trying but if it happened great- Aged 32 but due to genetic condition had TFMR at 13 weeks,

1. actively tried fir 5 months had a chemical after 3 months aged 34 ended in TFMR again
2. This time aged 35 first month of actively trying and now almost 18 weeks pregnant

34 - 2 months but ended in ectopic. Waiting for it to resolve before trying again.

I'm still going 2 years 3 months, not had help from the doctors yet though. No miscarriages, had a suspected ectopic about 10 years ago. I'm fairly certain the problem is with my hormones. All I'll say is make sure you do the deed every other day. Then you dont have to worry about when your ovulating.

I'm 32 and currently pregnant with my first baby. It has taken us 2 and a half years to get here. Despite having regular cycles and always getting positive OPKs I found out that I don't actually ovulate on my own. I'm only pregnant thanks to our wonderful NHS. Wishing you lots of luck OP. I know how draining and all consuming it can be. My advice would be to give it 12 months and if it hasn't happened by then seek some further help xx

Not sure about the length of time after coming off the pill - I remember reading about the rebound effect where your fertility is high as soon as you come off the pill but I could be making that up?! Anyway to add my experience I got pregnant first month of trying at the age of 36 which was a bit of a shock if I'm honest as all I'd heard about was the fertility failing off a cliff at 35 thing. I think that their also might be a genetic component at play as similarly my DM said she was very quick to conceive.

Interesting to read others experiences! Sorry I shouldn't really be on here, as I haven't conceived yet. I'm aged 24, been trying on/off (still never using contraception just taken a few breaks from tracking) for 5 years, no medical conditions.

I was 27 with dc1and got pregnant 1st month or trying. 29 with dc 2 and got pregnant 2nd month of trying. The biggest thing I believe made a difference is I had come off the pill a good year prior to this as I've heard can take a while to leave your system. Good luck OP.

I am also 25, no known health problems.
We have been trying since October, going into our 8th cycle now!! I’m really hoping this is our month, the odds should be in our favour! I’m trying not to stress and just really hoping it happens soon!!x

First pregnancy 3 years after coming off combined pill.
Second we weren't trying, missed a few pills and fell pregnant but ended up being ectopic.
Third pregnancy was on the second cycle.
Fourth again we weren't trying and again had missed a few pills.
First pregnancy was with a different partner so think the issue may have been with him since I've fallen pregnant pretty easily with another partner.

You’re lucky. I used OPKs every month and tried SMEP and bought an AVA bracelet to track my ovulation and bought preseed.

Took just over 10 years. Started trying at 23, no medical conditions/problems

Oh actually, when I was having my c section to deliver DS I overheard the surgeon say they thought they saw some endometriosis. So I guess that is a health condition! Dont have any symptoms of it though.

29 when got pregnant after 4 months of trying (felt like A LOT longer).
No health issues, normal BMI, had not been on any contraceptive prior. The month I conceived we were using Preseed and following SMEP but who knows if either helped.

First time aged 23 - took 6 months
Second time aged 27 - 1 month

Meant to add. Very regular cycles and no medical conditions that I’m aware of.

I was 24 (i'm 25 now and 15 weeks pregnant ) and it was our 3rd month trying, I hadn't been on the pill for years but feel very grateful it happened so quickly. I'm asthmatic but no other health issues apart from allergies.

19 with DD1 and I was on the pill at the time. She was a wonderful surprise.

Started TTC DC2 at 24 having been on no form of birth control since DD was born. Conceived first cycle but that ended with a chemical. Conceived again on cycle 13 (age 25) and am now 20+6 with DD2 and due in September.

First time I was 29 and, uh, literally first time we tried I think - my mum had 'warned' me she got pg very easily

Second time was 3 years later and it took 4-5 months.
