Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

@Bells993 no sign of AF here (due today though) so been brave and ordered some FRERs. Hopefully I haven't jinxed it! They should arrive tonight and will do one tomorrow! Have had a really bad headache on and off for 3 days and cannot sleep for the life of me (I was unloading the dishwasher at half 5 this morning)! But it's a full moon tomorrow so who knows if that's what it is 😂😂 how's everything your end? Xxx

Bells993 · 02/08/2020 12:10

@Leaf87 ekkk how lovely you are going away! Maybe test the day before you go then you know if you can drink or not... if it’s negative atleast you can’t have a few guilt free glasses till you come on! That’s what I think anyway, they say you don’t feed the baby till 9 weeks or so till the placenta takes place so a few glasses here and there won’t hurt! But everyone thinks differently 🙈🙊

@Frankincense88 exciting your testing soon, did you do one today? Xxx

Leaf87 · 29/07/2020 12:37

@Bells993 @Frankincense88 I am not due Af until 11th August so not testing for another week or so! I go on holiday the 7th so may test before I go.... haven't decided yet 😬
Not sure when I ovulated according to my app ut was Monday so who knows 🤷‍♀️

I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you @Frankincense88!!!

@Bells993 try not to think to much about it and let us know how your scan goes!

@MrsTtobe how are you doing this week?
@msanne any updates?

Frankincense88 · 29/07/2020 10:43

@Bells993 I'm due on Sunday so will try and wait until then, I think I'm only about 8 DPO today but I did do a test yesterday after having a 3 day stomach ache just on the off chance I'd got my dates wrong but obviously it was negative! I'm now going to wait until Sunday and resist the urge. xxx

Bells993 · 29/07/2020 10:19

How is everyone else doing? Xxx

Great news @MrsTtobe
@Leaf87 @Frankincense88 so what dates are you girls testing?

@msanne I’m good thank you! All my symptoms have dropped off the past day or so! Trying not too look into it too much and just think maybe this one is a girl and my others were boys 🤞 another scan Monday afternoon so counting down the days till that xxxx

OP posts:
Leaf87 · 27/07/2020 13:14

@MrsTtobe I am so glad to hear they reassured you! And like you said all other symptoms are still present so try to relax a little if you can. A busy week will distract you i am sure! You are 100% right its so lovely having you all here as we all understand each others worries.

@msanne I am ok been busy all weekend, according to my App I ovulate today. I havent bothered with anything else juat been DTD since Wednesday and will carry on this week... 🤞 if no luck this month I think i will test next month so I have a better idea!

@msanne @Frankincense88 @Bells993
How are you all feeling thks very wet Monday!!

Frankincense88 · 27/07/2020 12:16

@MrsTtobe so glad you're feeling a bit better bar the nausea! 2 more weeks of putting your feet up and you'll be reassured and you can relax more! Got everything crossed for you and sending positive vibes. Xxx

I've had a weird stomach 'ache' for a couple of days, it's not really an ache or a cramp, just a bit of a weird feeling you get before AF cramps. Not sure whether I'm symptom spotting or whether it's the curry I had on Saturday 😂 either way trying to ignore everything until Sunday! Xxx

msanne · 27/07/2020 10:29

@MrsTtobe - yaaayy happy for you. Stay positive and the next 2 weeks will whiz by. You've got lots to look forward to!

Like you - I am nauseous as ever - I absolutely hate it! I cannot sleep or lie down comfortably and feel like I'm going to explode from all the gas inside of me! I also look a bit like a beached whale - I do NOT have a pregnancy glow this time at all...more like Halloween atm hahaha.

2 more weeks just like you for that all-important scan and hopefully the placenta will take over these wonderful feelings!

xoxo

@Bells993 @msanne @Frankincense88 @Leaf87

So ive spoken to the midwife. She didn't seem concerned, she almost laughed when I told her about the fall 🙄 She asked about the amount of brown i lost and just said there was no need to go to EPU and to refrain from dtd until after the scan if it would put my mind at rest. Ive not lost anything else and still feel very pregnant as in I could just throw up at any moment but just got to hope and pray now I guess until it's time for the scan. Im terrified but going to have to man up. Ive got a fairly busy week on so hopefully will take my mind off it then we're in Wales for the weekend all being well.

How are you all?
Thank you so so much. You girls have been unbelievably supportive and there when I needed you most and couldn't talk to anyone in RL who understood how I was feeling. So just thank you. Im so glad we're all on this rollercoaster together. ❤

msanne · 27/07/2020 09:37

@MrsTtobe glad you feel a bit better. Knocks and bumps are ok - please don't stress about it. My kids are constantly falling and kicking me in my stomach by accident. At this stage the baby is still sooooo small and so cushioned I am sure your little bean won't even feel it!

Let us know what the midwife says please xoxo

@Frankincense88 - good on you for having a plan. Not long to test and will be praying for you.

@Leaf87 - how have you been?

@Bells993 - all well on your end?

Have a good week ladies xoxo

Frankincense88 · 26/07/2020 19:25

@MrsTtobe glad you managed to do some normal things like brunch and feel a bit more at ease! But obviously not so great about your fall - feet up and being waited on for sure! Let us know what EPU say tomorrow. I've been thinking about you 💕

Hope everyone else is ok! CD22 here - should be testing in a week's time and I'm determined not to do it sooner 🙃

Bells993 · 26/07/2020 18:01

@MrsTtobe try and keep upbeat hun! I know it’s hard but try and focus on your little one, she will pick up on the fact your down so try and keep positive! I’m sure everything will be fine, your kick yourself if you go for your scan and your completely fine and you’ve beaten yourself up the past week.

Think calling your midwife and going in is defo the right idea otherwise the next two weeks are going to be the longest and hardest two weeks ever. It’s not good for you to be feeling this stressed! I’m sure everything will be fine! Stay positive xxxxxxxx

@Frankincense88 @msanne

Thanks for checking up on me, I'm ok. Felt much better this morning, OH was out all day yesterday so I had time to sit and worry myself silly. Today started much better. Woke up, went to the toilet in fear. Nothing at all. All normal. Been out for the day, done a food shop, went out for brunch. Still nothing at all. So felt better about everything and slightly more hopeful. Then about 15 minutes ago I turned around in the kitchen with my hands full and completely tripped head over heels. My 2yo dd was right behind me on her little scooter and I didn't see her. I went flying and landed on her handle bars in my tummy! So now im completely in a mess! My tummy is sore and my back is killing. 😔
Currently sitting down with my feet up, feeling fed up, sick and just want to go to bed. 😔

Think im going to try to give my midwife a call tomorrow and explain everything to her and see what she suggests. 😔 xxx

msanne · 26/07/2020 08:50

Hey @MrsTtobe - I just saw this - sorry, my phone has been busy updating software and I didn't pay attention.

First of all - brown discharge is normal. It is the bright pink/red discharge you need to be concerned about. I had a yellowy brown discharge too for about 1 week and I had a swab done at the EPU - they said it was fine and if anything was old blood. So please in the first instance get a swab done at the EPU.

Also, like the other ladies have said, it has probably been caused by dtd. It is a good sign that you've got all of your other symptoms as well, but you're doing the right thing in resting. Please keep it up and exert as little stress as possible.

If you can't face a scan, I would still call the EPU to get some reassurance.

Sending you lots of love - let us know how you are today...keeping an eye on the thread...

xoxo

Frankincense88 · 26/07/2020 08:36

@MrsTtobe how're you feeling today? Xxx

MrsTtobe · 25/07/2020 20:47

@Bells993 I genuinely don't think I can face a scan. I think if it's going to happen again I'd rather it just progress at home. The thought of going for a scan and hearing those words im just not sure I can handle it. 😔
I think either way, whether it's got better or worse i will call EPU on Monday. Hopefully I will have found some strength from somewhere by then.
It's just so hard to think positive because of how horrific the mc was.
My pregnancy symptoms are the same. Nausea and knackered and sore boobs. Ive had no cramps either but didn't with the mc if im honest. I had cramps in the thick of it but the heavy bleeding and clots came before the cramps so that's not really putting my mind at rest.
This is so hard. X

Bells993 · 25/07/2020 20:35

@MrsTtobe then maybe it’s just you being over cautious (you have every reason) but hopefully like you said If you wouldn’t of worried before try not to worry now! It would be surely so rare for it to happen at the exact same date twice so please try and stay positive. I know your against an early scan but I really don’t think you should Torture yourself for the next 2 weeks and go get one just to hear that healthy heartbeat to get you through the week. You don’t want to put your body under that stress and worry xxxxxx

MrsTtobe · 25/07/2020 20:29

@Leaf87 @Frankincense88 thank you so much for your girls. Im honestly going out of my mind. It's just like the nightmare repeating itself almost to the day.
I didn't call EPU yesterday as showed my OH the cm and he said to him it was just a tiny little streak of beige and just looked normal.
It's like clear cm and mixed in with it tiny specs/streaks brown/ beige/ peach .
We spoke about it last night and just agreed that if it's another miscarriage then it will just progress in time anyway and would rather be at home.
If I hadn't had the mc and i had just had my 2 dc then i honestly wouldn't be worried at at. It's a tiny amount but because of what happened it's like my biggest fears come true.
Just going to see what happens I think and take it day by day.
I just want to hide away and cry.
Thanks for being there. X

Bells993 · 25/07/2020 20:27

@MrsTtobe ahhh I’ve got goosebumps just reading that. Hopefully it’s just from sex! Can you get a private scan... window to the womb open sundays! I’m sure if you called them if there was no appointments online you’d be able to get straight in or call the EPU and demand to be seen. You can’t just sit and home and worry yourself sick! Thinking of you and I’ve got everything crossed for you! Xxxxx

OP posts:
Frankincense88 · 25/07/2020 20:02

Oh no @MrsTtobe I'm so sorry to hear that. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. 💕 Hopefully like you say it could just be from DTD and nothing sinister. Have you phoned the EPU to get everything checked out? I think if you haven't had any accompanying pains that is definitely a good sign. Keep us updated and we will all be here for support xxx

Leaf87 · 25/07/2020 19:58

@MrsTtobe sending every positive vibe I have! Have you spoken to the doctor/EPU?
Its so very hard not to panic when these things happen 😪 however It could just be an iritated cervix from DTD or something like that. Sending virtual hugs x

MrsTtobe · 25/07/2020 19:38

@Bells993 @msanne @Leaf87 @Frankincense88

Hi ladies, having a really shitty couple of days. I woke up yesterday morning to what I can only describe as beige/ very light brown cm when i wiped. I literally felt sick. Not again please. 😔🙏
Over the course of yesterday and today it's been on and off. Sometimes it's there when I wipe, sometimes it's not. We dtd on Thurs night so im hoping and praying it's just that.
But im not in a good place at all. Im absolutely terrified. I started last time with pink discharge (a lot more than the brown cm now) but I just can't shake this feeling of dread. Ive barely moved off the sofa all day, i just want to cry. I had toilet anxiety before but now it's off the scale.
My mc started at 10 +4.
Im 10 +2 today. 😔 I had been dreading this week because of when it happened last time.

Please pray for me girls. 🙏❤

Frankincense88 · 22/07/2020 16:30

@Leaf87 @MrsTtobe @msanne @bells993

Hi ladies! Glad you're all doing ok even if symptoms are rearing their ugly heads! CD18 here so going to DTD today and tomorrow just to be sure then will begin the TWW. We missed out Saturday but will have DTD CD13, 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19! I can honestly say I've done my best haha.

All being well, should be testing around Sunday 2nd August and I'm determined not to torture myself by testing early this month. I'll wait until AF is due before even attempting to test! (Famous last words!)

Feeling a bit less stressed about things now and think what will be will be and if I don't catch this month I can just have another month focusing on losing weight! Xoxo

msanne · 22/07/2020 14:54

@Leaf87 - Yaaaaayyy! Fantastic! What a relief and so excited for you. Fingers crossed ladies....waiting to hear of more BFPs!

@MrsTtobe - I feel like shite. Especially in the evenings. I am drinking copious amounts of sparklings water and eating cheese (seems to be the only thing I can keep down). I am counting down the days for this to stop, but keep telling myself that this is the last time I will feel these symptoms as this is my last pregnancy - so my mantra is to enjoy the sickness! :P

I also think we both have our scans on the same day (I will be 10+1) on the 7th August. We will both be fine. Keep up the positive thoughts. I know it's tough that our partners can't be there too but hopefully, you will have a good sonographer and it will be a straight forward scan with no complications. Maybe you can do a private scan together afterward (week 13+) so your Partner can come with you and see everything? It should be special then when you have less pressure because of the baby and you can just enjoy it?!

@Bells993 - I too had an internal scan but my pictures weren't very clear at all. I was just grateful to see a heartbeat though and that the measurements were in line with gestational age.

xoxo
