Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

Hey @Leaf87 - hold out....i know it's difficult but it's only a few more days. Also, this is your first cycle of trying after a long slog - give yourself some time and I am sure it will happen soon :) fingers and toes crossed for you!

I saw this on another thread and wanted to post it here - it is something we should always remind ourselves of xx

@msanne @MrsTtobe looking forward to scan updates soon. Go easy on yourself its hard and its ok to be grunpy and tired sometimes!!

@Frankincense88 how are you feeling??

Well ladies I tested this morning on first response (AF due Monday...) BFN...i then felt annoyed with myself for testing..... i don't feel pregnant. Had a few symptoms but could be nothing... have to wait and see what Monday brings.

@MrsTtobe - that's so normal hun...me too. Have burst out in tears, screamed at DH and just completely exhausted. It's normal, we are building tiny humans inside us and are expected in teh meantime to continue with work and house chores, plus being a decent mother and partner. it's hard enough doing one of those things let alone all of them!

We haven't told anyone yet...my mum's made a few comments about my weight (as mothers doI suppose) but I have not said anything to anyone. We are waiting until we know we get all the results. Hopefully, all being well, we will tell people around 13 weeks.

Big hugs ladies and look forward to more updates soon!

xoxo

Same here @msanne absolutely shitting myself about tomorrow to put it bluntly.
I'm very emotional this week. I think the hiding it from everyone, the hormones and the feeling like crap 24/7 has caught up with me. Ive had a few little tears over 'nothing' this week. OH thinks im nuts for sure. 😂
I really hope and pray for us all for our little healthy babies to get here safe and well. ❤
Have you told anyone yet? OH wants to tell everyone tomorrow night (if everything is ok with the scan)🙏 but I think I need to get my little head around it all in my own little bubble first.
Im 12 week's today 😱 yet at no point so far have I allowed myself to enjoy being pregnant. Ive worried every minute of every day and a weekend to enjoy it on our own sounds like heaven. But we shall see. ❤

Hope the rest of you girls are all feeling ok?
@Leaf87 aww im so jealous you live in Wales, my OH lived in Gwynedd for a while in his teens and we love it there. We visit several times a year. Whistling Sands and Newborough beach are our absolute favourites. 😍 The dream is to retire there in a little cottage one day. 😊 xxx

msanne · 06/08/2020 09:25

Ladies - i've missed everything over the past few days as I don't get notifications sometimes - arrggghh so annoying!

@Bells993 - what a great little scan picture - looks awesome and growing well :) You are sooooo lucky not to have any symptoms - long may this reign for you!

@Frankincense88 - I too stopped testing - eventually. I think I wasted a fortune - I kept doing the PT until I was 18 DPO I think - so for a week more than I needed to! I agree with the others, you know now - so try to relax.

OK - so now, for a bit about me. I think I am the oldest - 37 (eeekkkk) and live in Surrey. This will be number 3 and last one out of the building.

@MrsTtobe - scans in 24 hours - so nervous! Hoping it goes well for both of us. I suspect they may tell me to come back for a rescan if the baby isn't quite as big as they need it to be.....but let's see.

Sending you all lots of love xoxox

Leaf87 · 05/08/2020 07:38

@Bells993 that scan picture 💛

@MrsTtobe I can not believe you are almost twelve weeks this year is flying in its maddness. I will keep you in my thoughts friday. I am sure it will all be fine. I was also born in Staffordshire!

@Frankincense88 I agree one more test then knock it on the head, sit back and try and relax!!

I am 33 hoping for our first baby and in Wales.

Frankincense88 · 04/08/2020 21:24

@MrsTtobe feel absolutely normal - nothing really symptom wise except for an on/off headache and a stuffy nose! No cramps, no loss of appetite, no sore boobs and no tiredness which is what makes me slightly more anxious! But like you say we've got our support network and I just keep telling myself to take each day as it comes!

I'm 31, (32 next month) West Midlands / Welsh border and hoping this is baby #1! Xxx

MrsTtobe · 04/08/2020 20:52

Aww your beautiful little babba @Bells993 😍😍
When is the official due date?
I know ive been so hardcore, almost 12 weeks without caving and going for a scan. I'm absolutely dreading Friday. I'm barely sleeping just going over and over different scenarios. 🙏

@msanne this nausea is no fun. Mine lessened a little last weekend while we were away and then I was even more stressed because I didn't feel nauseous. 🙈😂 But it's returned with a vengeance today 🤢😴 How are you feeling?

@Frankincense88 we know how hard it is. We can all help each other every step of the way. ❤ Take each day as it comes. How are you feeling?

@Leaf87 we are behind you every step of the way. 🙏

Where are you all from btw? Feels mad us all speaking but not knowing much about each other.
I'll start 😂 just gone 36, from Staffordshire, this will hopefully be child number 3.🙏❤ xx

Frankincense88 · 04/08/2020 20:44

@Bells993 wow!! The difference between your two pics is crazy!! How exciting!

I'm going to do my other frer tomorrow then I'm going to stop testing. I became obsessed with it last time and it did me no good! Xxx

Bells993 · 04/08/2020 20:01

@Leaf87 you will get there! We will all be thinking about you and sending out positive thoughts and prayers 🙏🏼

Leaf87 · 03/08/2020 19:52

I can't believe how positive this monday has been great news all round!!! @Bells993 @MrsTtobe @Frankincense88ike you say there is no right way. You need to make sure you do what feels right!!

Feeling the pressure for a full house now!!! 😬😬

Frankincense88 · 03/08/2020 18:20

@Bells993 very true! I'm such a worrier naturally I find it really hard to switch my brain off. Tempted to start some meditation over the holidays to take my mind off it!

Are they allowing partners to private scans yet? I think I'd manage the experience better if I could bring my husband. Don't think I could face it alone! Xxx

Bells993 · 03/08/2020 18:11

@Frankincense88 up to you isn’t it hun! Personally I’ve found it easier having one every two weeks to have a smaller count down and goal if you like! It’s cost me but especially having no symptoms its given me peace of mind! Also I don’t like the idea of carrying on for weeks before finding out something’s wrong!

Other hand you might want to do it like @MrsTtobe and ride it out till the end! I really don’t know how she’s done it 🙌🤣 amazing really!

My gyno told me off for worrying today. He said the one of MC is SO common I’ve just got to forget and get on with it and enjoy my pregnancy! He’s so right! Don’t let it taint your experience 🥰🥰

Frankincense88 · 03/08/2020 17:22

@Bells993 ahhh that's so exciting! Bet you feel so relieved.

I'm in two minds whether to book an early scan or just wait it out. I'm so terrified of a repeat scenario, a part of me doesn't want the stress of going early and no heartbeat detected again then the worry and pain of waiting 2 weeks for further bad news. I'm going to give it a few more weeks before I even arrange a booking appt because I'm so bloody scared 😩 on the plus side I've still got 4 weeks off work to relax and just take each day as it comes! Xxxx

Bells993 · 03/08/2020 16:46

Hey girls! All went well thank you!
8 weeks 2 days! I was waiting for the scan pictures to be emailed to me so I could show you all! Baby has a spine, brain, 4 buds for its arms, legs and a strong heartbeat so far! Can’t believe the jump in size & I couldn’t get over how clear the internal scan was!
So relieved! Hopefully the next four weeks goes just as well 🤞

@MrsTtobe no way are you nearly 12 weeks! Wow that’s flown!

Can’t wait for your twos scan Friday 🥰

@MrsTtobe - the nausea is a good sign. I only had nausea (although not this bad) with my son. My daughter was just headaches (literally) :P I am inclined to think that this one is a boy too.

In regards to stretching - I have had some of this already - around my belly button, it burns....so I am applying lots of bio oil. Hopefully it will reduce any more appearing. I definitely look pregnant now though - i'm in my maternity yoga pants - they are SOOOOO comfortable. They are positively the only good thing about feeling so crap right now!

Can't wait to hear all of your updates!

xoxo

MrsTtobe · 03/08/2020 16:32

This has to be the luckiest thread on MN! @Leaf87 I truly believe you wont be far behind lovely. Got absolutely everything crossed for you. 🙏

@Frankincense88 I'm not going to lie, the anxiety of pregnancy after loss is god awful but just take each day as it comes and it will go much quicker than you think. Im 12 week's on Friday!! Its mad how fast it's gone!

@msanne yes our scan on Friday! Mine is the c afternoon, 2pm! Im petrified!! Ive not lost any more brown etc and still feeling soooooo sick 🤢 also I swear my belly is growing by the day! 😳 I definitely won't be able to hide it for much longer.

@Bells993 how has your scan gone lovely? How many weeks are you now, is it coming up to 8?
Like you say we have spent most of the year pregnant. No wonder we're exhausted. Our poor bodies have been through so much. Ive had hardly any stretching or round ligament pain this time but strangely had lots with my mc. But feel more sick this time than last time!

Xxx

Frankincense88 · 03/08/2020 11:34

@Bells993 @msanne good luck with your scans ladies. Let us know how you get on - got everything crossed that it'll be a stress free experience! 💕

msanne · 03/08/2020 09:17

@Frankincense88 - AMAZING news! Congratulations! Such strong lines - which is great!!! So happy for you.

One more @Leaf87 - then we will have a full house!! Everything crossed for you!

@Bells993 - good luck for your scan today - let us know how it goes xx everything will be fine.

@MrsTtobe - how are you doing? Hope you're feeling better too xx

I've got my scan on Friday at 9am. Been feeling god awful all week and nauseous all day long - hoping this phase passes asap as not dealing too well with it.

Exciting times ladies -

Bells993 · 03/08/2020 08:32

@Frankincense88 OMG!!! What a dye stealer! Best news ever! Congratulations!!!! Twins? 🤪🤪🤣 you must feel on top of the world! I’ve had hardly any symptoms either! Every pregnancy is different remember and I guess our bodies are all use to the hormones as we’ve all been pregnant nearly all year 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 that’s what I’ve been telling myself anyway! Xxx

Nearly a full house girls! Routing for you @Leaf87 what day do you go away?

Scan at 2.30 again today on my own 🥴 I was shaking last time. Dreading it but hopefully if it’s good news it will give me piece of mind for another week xx

@MrsTtobe yes I woke him up at 6 o'clock and told him there was a present for him in the bathroom 😂 he wasn't very impressed but then realised what it was.

I'm only one day late today so keep saying to myself not to get my hopes up too much - I'm already full of anxiety but just trying to think what will be, will be and just to enjoy each day. Feel very different to last time, no symptoms whatsoever apart from a 3 day headache. Was anticipating some cramps or stretching but nothing 😩

@Leaf87 you're going to have to update us Friday before you go away! Xxx

MrsTtobe · 03/08/2020 08:01

@Frankincense88 omg im so so so happy for you! This is amazing to wake up to.
Have you told OH yet? ❤xxx

Leaf87 · 03/08/2020 07:07
