Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

@Bells993 - you have got such willpower, but I get how it must be super exciting to find out too. We don't leave much to chance nowadays so it is a nice thought to wait. I am thrilled for you :)

We're finding out the sex on Friday when I should be 16 weeks too - but we are doing it with the intention to plan. I want to get rid of the cute clothes I have been hanging onto (depending on which sex the baby is), plus I want to do a cute annoucement to our friends and family with our older children.

@MrsTtobe - glad to hear you're ok! Tbh i'm suprised my phone hasn't conked it yet considering how much my kids throw it around!

We have the opposite issue, can't think of any boys names we like - although I really like Caleb and Jacob.

In regards to the girls' names - they all sound unique and adorable.

Other girls names I like include Sienna, Ciara, Gianna (nickname Gigi or Gia) or Riana ....I know I seem to have an ana theme going on hehehe.

Boys names, I like Raiden, Maikel, Luca and Nico....but just like you, my DH doesn't like any of the boys names! I really hope we're having a girl - lol!!

We didn't make up our minds with our daughter until she was born, so i am hoping something just falls into place!

Have a lovely BHWE all xoxo

MrsTtobe · 28/08/2020 08:37

Ladies im back. I smashed my phone last Friday when we got back from Wales (which was a disaster - caught up in the worse storm ever) so it's been in for repair and only got it back last night. Used my old one but wouldn't let me on our conversations on MN!
I'm so glad you're all ok! ❤
@Frankincense88 literally been thinking about you every day. Reading your messages just that everything is going well made me so so happy and emotional. We really have all been through so much. ❤ Back at work Tuesday, how you feeling about it? Im all over the place, can't get organised!

@Leaf87 don't worry too much about CB tests. It's a fine art with how concentrated our wee is etc 😂 just try to relax and enjoy before you get ALL the pregnancy symptoms. 😂

@msanne yayyyy. Soooo happy for you lovely. You must be over the moon. Amazing news to know all is well and healthy. ❤ I know what you mean about getting organised. Im currently writing lists of presents for everyone and sorting my Christmas diary. 😬😂

@Bells993 glad you're doing well lovely. Im 16 week's on Sat. 😱 Time is flying. We're going for a gender scan on Monday so will let you all know whether it's a boy or girl.
My due date : Feb 14th, a little valentines baby ❤

Im struggling for names girls... let's throw some out there.
Girls - Mabel, Lola, Orla
Boys - Caleb, Tommy, Jacob
They are my top 3 but my OH not agreeing 😂

Happy weekend all xxx

Bells993 · 28/08/2020 08:16

@msanne nooo I don’t want to know! I didn’t find out with my first & my partner telling me it’s a boy was a moment on its own I’ll never forget so definitely doing the same again!
Defo a great idea to get everything sorted early! I’m normally wrapped by November so Everything’s ready! 😂😂

What’s everyone’s official due dates? Be nice to see them all down in order 😍😍 I’m the 13th or March xx

@Frankincense88 I am so pleased for you. I totally get the fortnightly scans - think i will need to schedule one for myself in 2 weeks time!

@Bells993 - time is flying isn't it - feel like our babies will be here in no time! I've started to write a list of everything I need to get sorted before December so that I am not stressing come February. I just need to get round to doing it now, which is easier said than done!

Did you find out the sex of the baby? I understand the private Harmony tests do tell you (whereas NHS do not).

Have a good day ladies. Last weekend off before the madness of another school year starts!

xoxo

@Frankincense88 so so happy its postive news! Like you say for this snap shot in time its nice to be able to relax for a while i know its still going OK and baby is growing well!!

Frankincense88 · 27/08/2020 17:08

@msanne @Leaf87 @Bells993 @MrsTtobe

Hi ladies, back from my scan and all ok despite still spotting. Saw a strong heartbeat and exactly 1 week's growth so that's good. It'll put my mind at ease for a couple more days at least! Going to book to go back in 2 weeks like @Bells993 because I can't stand the thought of having to wait another 5 weeks until my dating scan 😩 xxxx

Leaf87 · 27/08/2020 13:45

@Frankincense88 @msanne
I thinki will test again tomorrow first wee and see what it says! If its still says 2/3 I will contact EPU (feel like I know them pretty well.... July is the first month in six i havent been to see them 🤣)

Its so hard isn't it you have to really push together anyone to pay you even the smallest bit of attention! Its not in my nature to make a fuss about my health etc it drives my husband mad! But I will call tomorrow morning of i am worried not that they can really do much.

I really hole your scan goes well later I truly have everything crossed for you. I had spotting from 6 weeks last time and its so unnerving but like they say it can be normal too. Let us know how you get on!

msanne · 27/08/2020 09:01

@Leaf87 - i would call your EPU and see if you can get an extra early scan. At 6 weeks a sac should be visible and so might a heartbeat (although, didn't see mine until 7 weeks). It will help to put your mind ot rest I think.

I've heard conflicting advice about the CB indicator - so as @Frankincense88 says take a FMU and see too.

It's such a nerve wrecking time for all of us, your hospital should be accomodating and understanding. I had to push to get my additional tests and had to break down at the hospital, but at the end of the day they DID give me the tests I requested in the end....you just need to make a big enough fuss. At this point, I don't really care if some midwife thinks I am overreacting....it's my body and my baby and I want to do everything I can to make sure everything is as it should be.

Sending you lots of love xoxo

Frankincense88 · 27/08/2020 08:51

@Leaf87 I know exactly how you feel. From what I've read / heard the weeks indicator can be hit and miss with accuracy at the best of times so to put your mind at ease do one this morning with first wee and then step away. It's easier said than done though I know!

I'm dreading this afternoon, I've managed to go a whole week feeling reasonably positive but last night has just sent me back to square one. I'm just taking solace in the fact that there was no accompanying pain and it seems to be easing off now 😩 this first trimester really is the least fun ever xxxx

Leaf87 · 27/08/2020 08:42

@Frankincense88 I have every thing crossed for you!! Please keep us updated.

Severe anxiety kicked in over here to.... i simply don't feel pregnant and can not shake a bad feeling last night i stupidly did a clear blue digital and it says 2-3 weeks pregnant I am 6+2 so it should say 3+... it was with a fairly diluted evening wee but its tipping me over the edge.
Trying to remain calm have no evidence that anything is wrong apart from feeling well. Going to do the other one tomorrow with first wee and see what it says.....
Hope your all doing well @Bells993 @MrsTtobe @msanne

msanne · 27/08/2020 08:20

@Frankincense88 - got everything crossed for your lovely. Will be thinking of you this afternoon - let us know how it goes.

xoxo

Frankincense88 · 27/08/2020 08:06

Hi girls,

Had another bleed last night (all brown so hopefully old blood) possibly the blood from around the sac (?) but keep everything crossed for me that I get good news at 4.30. Can't shake the negativity at all 😢 Haven't had any cramping or pain but obviously been worrying myself sick! Xxxx

@Leaf87 @msanne @Bells993 @MrsTtobe

Frankincense88 · 25/08/2020 13:35

@Leaf87 @msanne @Bells993 @MrsTtobe

Hi ladies, great to hear you've got the all clear @msanne hopefully you can just enjoy yourself now!

I'm 6+6 today and I've got a scan on Thursday to check progress and check the bleed - had some v.light brown spotting again on Saturday but nothing since but obviously I've been checking like mad and driving myself insane. I'm away for 2 nights in a b&b with my mum and it's really nice but hard as I'm having to go for a wee every 10 minutes and it's so stressful trying to find a toilet! Also I'm absolutely knackered and only been wandering around homesense and next home 😂 god knows how I'll cope when I'm teaching 5 lessons a day next week 😩

Hope you're all ok and not feeling too full of symptoms xxxx

Leaf87 · 25/08/2020 13:06

@msanne thats great news so pleased hopefully you can now start to relax and enjoy the pregnacey.

I am six weeks today.... I wilk be due a scan in 2 weeks so hopefully midwife will be in contact soon. I am starting to panic i just don't feel that pregnant no sickness nothing. My boobs have grown i am thirsty alot and therefore pee more...
I have no reason to worry really had a few aches and pains but nothing i would consider abnormal. I keep reading morning sickness indicates and healthier pregnancey and just needs some reasurtance 😔😔
Hope your all having a good week @Bells993 @MrsTtobe @Frankincense88

msanne · 25/08/2020 11:07

Hey ladies,

Quick update from me. I finally got my NIPT scores back - we are GOOD :) chances of trisomy are less than 1 in 1,000,000 - so I will take that happily!

I have also changed my mind in that this baby is a girl :) Either way, I am just SO happy that the baby is healthy - I am over the moon :)

@Frankincense88, @Leaf87 @ Bells993 - have you had your scans yet? I've lost track of when they were this week?

@MrsTtobe - how are you doing lovely?

Sending you lots and lots of love xoxo

Frankincense88 · 20/08/2020 17:34

@Bells993 nope she said it happens sometimes. I'm too scared to google to find out more in case I fall down a rabbit hole and worry myself stupid. It's not like I've done anything remotely strenuous because I've just been lying on the sofa on my fat arse for 5 weeks 😂 I found the private scan so much more relaxing and less stressful than my NHS ones - I said to DH I wish we could afford to go private because the experience was much more positive. xxx

Bells993 · 20/08/2020 17:28

@Frankincense88 great news! 🥳🙌 what a relief! Did she say what could of caused that? Great that you saw the heartbeat! Hopefully that helps you sleep easy! (For one night) haha! Xxx

@Frankincense88 - am so pleased. And will definitely keep you in my thoughts. Just stay safe and think positive, and hopefully all will be well.

Big hugs xoxo

Frankincense88 · 20/08/2020 16:54

@Bells993 @msanne @Leaf87 @MrsTtobe

Hi girls,

Just got home. All SEEMS to be ok 🤞🏼 measuring 6w1d so a few days behind what I originally thought and we did see a teeny flicker of a heartbeat. She said there was some bruising / bleeding around the sac though so wants to scan me in a week's time to check everything is progressing as it should be. That could explain the gush of blood I had on the 9th. So my toilet phobia is going to be absolutely out of control I can tell. But at least it's only a week away. Keep everything crossed that next week we see some progress and the bleed absorbs itself / goes away xxxx

msanne · 20/08/2020 16:42

@Frankincense88 - thinking of you hun - all will be well. Let us know how you get on xoxo
