Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

Hope you don’t mind me joining.
I’ve been experiencing my first miscarriage for the past 5 days, after my first pregnancy.
I’ve been absolutely heartbroken, but I did a test this morning with my first wee and it looked completely negative.
We initially said that we would try straight away, but have now decided to wait until the end of the year.
I’ve accepted that it just wasn’t meant to be this time, but reminded by family and friends with babies every single day and its been hurting so much...especially with the constant reminder that it’s gone every time I use the toilet.

I guess I just wanted to write it down to strangers because it relieves me from how I’m currently feeling I guess x

@MrsTTobe - hahaha yes! going to be on calls until 4pm so will have to undertake mission impossible after this time!!

Let us know what hubby says/does when you tell him the great news!

xoxo

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 11:32

P.s @msanne the kids will be fine for 10 mins 😬 snacks and netflix are a winner. 🤣just get your oh to be quick. 🙈🤣
You deserve a rest. You're not far from 2ww now unless you're already in it and have already ovulated. 😊 x

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 11:30

@Leaf87 thank you sweetheart and thinking of you. I know at the minute every day must be dragging and you want this whole situation over but you have plenty of time so just look after yourself.

@msanne I usually ovulate early, 9dpo is when i usually get ewcm (don't track other than that) and my dd was conceived 8/9 dpo but pretty sure I ovulated a few days later this time as didn't get ewcm till then.
Ive had no specific pg symptoms. Just the usual ones that could have been AF on her way! Bad skin, awful headache, lots of unusual cm, really really hormonal/ easily irritated, my main one which made me think hmmm could I be as I had it last time was I had achey legs yesterday. Had this last time day before I did a test and don't generally get achey legs when AF due. X

msanne · 11/06/2020 10:52

@MrsTTobe - happy tears are good tears :) I feel ok mostly. Had awful migraine a few days ago and then had to throw up a few times (so about CD 10 this was). Then been ok, with slight cramping in my pelvic area and today tonnes of EWCM - but my CB OPK says I am only "high" fertility, not"peak". Trying to get DH to take a break this afternoon so that we can DTD (not quite sure what to do with DC - but am sure Netflix should entertain them for long enough) - but with meetings piling up I am not sure it's going to happen.

I want my FW to be over already this month so I can take a rest lol! Trying not to symptom spot and waiting for my 2 weeks to be over xoxo

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 10:34

@msanne thank you so so much. You've made me cry again. 🙈🤣 You're so right, a miscarriage or termination changes a woman forever. Something I once completely took for granted. I thought you got pregnant and were guaranteed a baby pretty much. Definitely a little more cautious but trying to be positive. Rooting for you girls. ❤
CD 15 for you. How you feeling in yourself?

@Frankincense88 yes definitely one or the other. 🤣 I worked in Early Years for a long time but think I'm definitely settled now im KS2 and I'm not mopping up poo, sick or tears for 90% of my day. 🤣

Leaf87 · 11/06/2020 10:31

@MrsTtobe this is amazing news so very happy for you!!! Absolutely great news!!!! Flowers

Sorry I am quite girls just all over the place, hormones still high retest 17th at least they are testing me every two weeks but I am out for a good few months I think

Frankincense88 · 11/06/2020 09:39

@msanne I use the CB OPK but not sure if it's advanced.. it's the digital one with the smiley faces if that helps! Got everything crossed for you!

@MrsTtobe yep, high school here 😂 I love it no two days are the same when teenagers are about. I think you're either definitely a 'primary' person or a 'secondary' person. I couldn't cope with all the crying / toilet incidents in primary 😂 xxxxx

msanne · 11/06/2020 09:32

OMG!!! OMG!!! *@MrsTTobe - Con-fckin-gratulations! Excuse my french...:P I am so happy for you. And you know what - you are past the first hurdle and you succeeded...the next one (at 12 weeks) will be the same and you will get through this. Positive thoughts from now on as that is all you need with the baby! eeekkk - I am so happy for you!

You know - I'm fast becoming an expert with this baby making business - done so much reading in the past 2 months, I feel like I am more in tune with my body now than ever before....this is a good thing. Although the shite of MC/termination has happened to all of us - in our own ways I do believe it will make us more thankful and appreciative when we get our babies (not if)!

@Bells993 - I am on CD 15 - you are good!! I have been doing the CB OPK since 5 days ago. I had a low fertility for the first 2 days and then for the last 3 days I have had a flashing "high" fertility. I'm not sure when or if I will reach "peak" fertility as not sure for how many days it is realistic to be fertile...is the device faulty or maybe I am not ovulating so there is no LH surge. I've got lots of CM so just going for it whenever we can - but we missed a day 2 nights ago....Driving myself a bit mad!! Has anyone else used the Advanced CB OPK?

@Frankincense88 and @MrsTtobe -so cool that you are both teachers. SO much respect for you guys. @MrsTtobe - I agree you should tell your headteacher. As for telling your husband -whatever you choose to do it will be right.

I think as far as DTD goes - I will do my best for the next 5 nights...but it is getting a bit exhausting now. I've cut out the alcohol completely and only drinking my coffee once a day. I'm onto the peppermint and chamomile now - living dangerously! haha!

I love our little group here - and I am so happy to start the day off on such a HIGH! Touche - @Frannkinscense88 - may this be the first of many BFP :) @MrsTTobe, put your feet up and relax - you deserve it xxx

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 09:19

@Frankincense88 oh you're high school? I couldn't deal with stroppy teenagers I don't think. I will take my little ones any day.🤣 I know I cried all the way home from work that day, felt like I was letting my kids down. They all looked so worried and they didn't want to go next door. One of my children has very sadly lost their mum to covid too so ive felt completely hopeless. X

Frankincense88 · 11/06/2020 09:06

@MrsTtobe Yeah I had a call that evening saying not to come back in which was gutting because I couldn't say goodbye to my wonderful Y11 pupils and we didn't get our last lesson together. Was a sad day. I'm back next week teaching Year 10 until the summer holidays so full timetable as I have 2 sets and am teaching 55 kids in groups of 3-4. 😬😬😬

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 08:49

@Frankincense88 was the 18th the Wednesday before lockdown? How strange that's when I was sent home too. Mid lesson, I only had 8 children in but I felt awful as they were all sent next door.
My head was amazing when I had the miscarriage, so glad she's a woman and she was so supportive. Up until last week she had suggested I stay off and have some time to get myself right. Had a conversation last week and said I was 100% ready to come back. Now im going to have to ring her again and explain.
It's a hard one isn't it. Supposed to be meeting my new class in a few weeks. Im yr 3 so my children not in yet but I was going to be helping out with yr 1 and key worker children. X

Frankincense88 · 11/06/2020 08:43

@MrsTtobe Yes, I was in the exact same position. Haven't been in since 18th March as my Head said to work from home. I had to have a phone call risk assessment with my Head yesterday to determine whether it was safe for me to return to school and one of the questions is 'are you pregnant' so I think it will play some kind of role in whether you're allowed to return or not!

I asked my Head if he wanted me to tell him if I became pregnant again and he said yes as they'd have to risk assess again. I'd probably tell your Head just so that you've covered yourself and they can protect you xxxx

MrsTtobe · 11/06/2020 08:37

@Bells993 thank you again. Yes you're right. I need to try put what happened in the past and focus on the future and what will be will be.
Yes you remembered, bless you I did say I wouldn't have an early scan and think I will stand by that. It was that false hope at 8 weeks that killed me so I really don't think I could go through an early scan. Would be irrelevant anyway because until 12 weeks + i won't feel 'safe' not sure any of us will until we're holding them in our arms after what we've all been through.
Lots of love and luck to you.

@Frankincense88 thank you so so much. Are you a teacher then? Me too, I was sent home by my head the week before lockdown for being pg and classed as vulnerable (I was 8 weeks pg and told her because of the situation with covid) then obviously I miscarried during lockdown so now ive been put back on rota to start back on Monday so what do I do? Just go in and risk it or tell her? Was hoping not to tell anyone till after 12 weeks this time. X

Frankincense88 · 11/06/2020 08:27

@MrsTtobe yay! That is such brilliant news, so happy for you lovely! The first of many BFPs let's hope!! Xxxxx

@bells993 I'm CD5 here, I think AF will probs disappear tomorrow and I'll start my OPK Sunday or Monday. Back at school on Monday teaching pretty much full time to small groups so DTD will have to be evenings and weekends only!! Xxx

Bells993 · 11/06/2020 08:25

@MrsTtobe ahhh this is the best best news! I’m jealous you have such short cycles haha! I’m a 33 dayer normally!

Hahaa we don’t know him so I can’t comment on what you should do hahaa, he’s going to be so happy! Try not to cry you’ve now got to try your best to ignore everything that happened before and focus on the future! How amazing.

What’s your plan now? Plenty of rest, lots of good food. When will your 3 month mark be? Think you said you wouldn’t get an early scan this time didn’t you? Can’t see that happened hahaa 🙊🙊😍 xxxx

@Bells993 thank you so much. I haven't stopped crying yet. Don't know whether to ring oh to tell him or just wait till he's home tonight. I'm in total shock.
We were trying for about 5 months last time then had the miscarriage in April. They do say more fertile after mc but I just thought people were telling me that to try to make me feel better. Lol. But clearly not.
I'm pretty sure i ovulated cd 13/14 but not sure as i don't track. Cycles usually 26ish days give or take a day or 2.
I had a feeling as ive had some symptoms that I had last time and had with my 2 dc. First sign, a breakout only 5/6 days after ovulation then a really bad headache for 2 days after that. Then ive been constipated for a week and had lots of cm. Final straw, my oh has been really irritating to the point I cried last night cuz he wouldn't go to the shop. Then I suddenly realised im VERY hormonal.
Sorry for rambling. Im just in shock. X

Bells993 · 11/06/2020 08:10

@Leaf87 @msanne @Frankincense88

@msanne so your CD14/15 today?

@MrsTtobe oh my goodness!!!!! Congratulations! I’m so sooooo so happy for you! Best news ever! CD27 and you’ve already got a positive test that’s amazing! Huge sign your hormones are super high aswell! Ekkkk yay!!!

How long are your cycles usually? What day do you think you ovulated!

Ahhh honestly I can’t tell you how happy I am for you! How long were you trying for the first time, I’ve forgot? They do say your more fertile!

So my AF came back for a few more days after I thought it was over. I’m on CD9 going to start the ovulation kits tomorrow I think xxx

@msanne @Bells993 @Leaf87 @Frankincense88 I cant quite believe this. Im crying with every emotion you can think of. After all the sadness of the last 8 weeks a little spark of joy. I'm terrified of something going wrong again. TERRIFIED! But im full of hope. Please pray for me ladies that this little one sticks and stays healthy. ❤
My oh doesn't even know. He left for work early and ive just done it. I'm in total shock.
Love to you all xxx

msanne · 10/06/2020 16:03

It's great @MrsTTobe - there are some really interesting topics in it. I am glued to it atm and the book only arrived this morning!

You are not crazy to check constantly - I would be the same. Is there any point in taking a FRER? how long are your cycles again? I'm on tenter hooks!

We started the DTD marathon 4 days ago. So far, we have succeeded on 3 days as last night our DD played the role of saboteur a bit too well! I've had flashing smileys on my OPKS both yesterday and today so I will be forcing the kids to bed at about 7pm tonight so I can get the BD going! lol

Been having awful heartburn since yesterday though, feel like someone has punched me in my stomach. Not sure what that is about either - really weird. but NO symptom spotting!!

loads of love xoxo

MrsTtobe · 10/06/2020 15:54

Hey @msanne that sounds right up my street. I will definitely have a look. I could do with something to pass the time. 😊😘 Still waiting... cd 27 😳 I feel strange, on one hand I don't want to know if AF is coming and on the other hand I just want it to come out of the way. 😔 Every time I go to the loo im checking like a crazy person. 😂
Are you ok? You started your dtd marathon? X

msanne · 10/06/2020 14:24

Hey Ladies,

I wanted to pop a note on a great book I am reading "the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant" by Jean M Twenge.

I think that in this time of prolonged waiting and so many questions - this book is really proving to be an eye opener and funny too! Not to forget passing the time....

Talking of time passing - how are you getting along @MrsTtobe? @Leaf87 have the hospital provided some more clarity for you yet?

Sending you all lots of love xoxo

msanne · 09/06/2020 09:22

@MrsTTobe - I will keep an eye on this thread. I really hope that it's going to be a BFP!! Cheering for you lovely.

xoxo
