Pregnancy after MMC

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately I had a MMC on our second pregnancy last month. (I have a 1 year old)
I should of been 9 weeks at my Scan but baby was only 8 weeks 4 so it had just happened. 3 days later I had a private D&C as I didn’t want to risk the hospital/ the trauma of dealing with it at home with my little boy.
I had bleeding on and off for 2 weeks after (6th of April was the D&C) I had regular bloody tests, my last one my HCG had come down to 70 so 3 days later I got my first negative test.
I had an internal to confirm no retained pregnancy and was given the all clear to try again straight away. I’ve had cystitis this weekend to add to my problems and now I’m getting this on my tests. Had anyone experienced anything similar, what are your thoughts? Feel like my body’s just giving up on me haha! I’d love to be pregnant again but I’d just be surprised if it could all happen within such a small time scale
Thanks everyone

All brilliant news ladies so pleased!
@Bells993 @msanne @MrsTtobe
I have been officially signed of and given the green light to start trying 🥳🥳🥳 cycle day 9 so straight into DTD!
Not going to get my hopes up to much but you never know! Only thing they have recommed is a scan at 8 weeks when we do manage to conceive to check all looks OK.

@Frankincense88 hopefully we will join the others soon! How are you feeling? are you in the TWW now?

MrsTtobe · 22/07/2020 12:46

Hello ladies, sorry ive missed quite a bit. For some reason my thread updates must have stopped!
@Bells993 omg what a beautiful picture of your little baby. So lovely, made my day! 😍

@msanne how are you doing? Still suffering with the lovely pregnancy symptoms? Im so bloated and the nausea at certain times during the day is absolutely horrific. Really struggling to eat most foods. Living on chocolate digestives and mini cheddars! 😂

Im 9+5 today 😬 had my booking in appointment with the midwife yesterday and my scan is booked for 7th Aug. I will be 12+1. Im terrified. They are saying my OH wont be allowed in 😔 I'm going to be a nervous wreck. OH keeps asking me to get a private scan now but I just can't bring myself to do it after what happened. 😔

@Frankincense88 woohoo we are officially in our summer break. It's been a strange old year. I feel like I've lost a year with my kids and I had such a lovely year group. 😣
@Leaf87 hope you're well lovely. Everything crossed for you both. 🙏 x

Bells993 · 22/07/2020 12:00

@msanne yes it was a internal so really clear which is amazing!

Ohhh how amazing they are giving it to you! No it’s not fair for you to have to get to 15 weeks again. Brilliant news! I have no real
Symptoms yet just really tired all the time! I said to my doctor I was expecting the worse as I’ve had no symptoms compared to DC but he told me off for comparing pregnancies 🤣🤣 I know so lovely!

@MrsTtobe how are you? Any updates!

@Frankincense88 fingers crossed! Have you worked out a day you could test? I ovulate late too, always on the 20th day!
Xxx

Oh - also realised that 3 of us are exactly 2 weeks behind each other :P

@MrsTtobe, followed by me, followed by @Bells993

here's to hoping that @Leaf87 and @Frankincense88 aren't far behind too. Would be really nice we could all stick together on this!

msanne · 22/07/2020 11:26

@Bells993 - that is amazing - congratulations!! 6 weeks will whizz by and if you've got scans every fortnight you will have plenty of insight into how the little bean is doing :) What wonderful news. Your scan picture is also really clear.

My due date according to my app is 4th March - but not had a due date from my scans yet. I suppose I will get this when I go in for my next scan on 7th August. NIPT (non-invasive prenatal testing) is similar to the Harmony test but offered on the NHS. It identifies common trisomys (which is what our baby had earlier this year) and basically 2 weeks earlier than the NT scan offered to all women. I had to push to get it as it costs about £500 if done privately, but as I am high risk at the moment, I will be getting it on the NHS. Silver linings. If something is wrong with the baby - I NEED to know asap. I cannot wait until 15 weeks (as I had to last time). I am hopeful that everything is fine this time round as I feel shite (but with good symptoms - LOL)!

@Frankincense88 - fingers crossed for you that this cycle is the one!

Love to you all

xoxo

Frankincense88 · 21/07/2020 08:20

@Bells993 so exciting! That's gone so quickly how are you that far already? Still DTD here - no idea when I'm ovulating / if I even have. Had some cramp pains sat night but not testing so no idea what's going on in there. Going to keep DTD until tomorrow which will be day 18. I usually ovulate late so will see what happens! Xx

Leaf87 · 21/07/2020 07:12

@Bells993 so happy for you!! Try not to worry to much (easier said than done!) It must have been lovely to see that little flicker of a heartbeat 💓

Bells993 · 20/07/2020 20:41

6 weeks two days and a heartbeat
Fingers crossed for the next 6 weeks! I’m going to book a scan every two weeks from now on. Mad I know but hopefully it will help me sleep better! I’ve been sleeping so bad with the worst dreams :( feel much better today so I think it will help.

How are you all? Xxx

Amazing news @msanneso happy for you!! What does that make your due date?
Sorry your symptoms have been so bad but I guess you’ve got to take comfort in the fact you’ve got them I guess haha! What’s a NIPT test? Xxx

I know I know 🙈 good days bad days etc!

@Frankincense88 nooo I love this sort of stuff! I’d love to go see one but good ones are word and mouth and hard to come by aren’t they! Hopefully this month or next is the month! Xxx

Hey Ladies,

Thank you for all of your well wishes. I've had a really crappy week. I had awful migraines, vomiting and cramps all week - so much so I was bed ridden. Spoke to the midwife about it and she said that is likely my digestive system as I can't eat often but when I do I am binging...can't wait for the placenta to take over already!

I went to the scan and saw our little bean - with a little flickering heart beat. I am relieved somewhat but still tense as ever as I want to know the NIPT test results so bad! I am measuring exactly 7 weeks so that is good. Like you all, I am trying to stay positive. I have got my early NIPT test booked for the 7th August so all going well should know by the middle of August in regards to trisomys with the baby. Hoping for a healthy bean this time round :)

@Leaf87 - so happy your AF has started. That is tremendous news and is so promising!
@Frankincense88 - good luck to you too! I believe in mediums too - seen a few over the years but the last one (and nicest one I saw) was earlier on in the year. She told me I would have 4 kids - to which I told her, no way... I only want 3! Funny how now, that this baby I am now carrying will be my fourth - so it is strange how what they say is true somewhat. I really hope a April/May baby will happen for you - what a great time to be born too!
@MrsTtobe - keep doing what you're doing hun. Each day is another step closer and like @Bells993 says - I think you will have the reassurance you need once you have had that 12 week scan - do you have a date for it yet?
@Bells993 - please stay positive. There is every chance this pregnancy will work for you - let us know how the scan goes on Monday :)

Sending you lots of love and enjoy the weekend. We're going to drive to a beach near us tomorrow morning to watch the sunrise and have a picnic. Need something refreshing :)

xoxo

Frankincense88 · 17/07/2020 11:02

@Leaf87 ignore that - just read your message again! Great news about AF. I'm not feeling super hopeful about this month but trying to be positive!!

Not sure if any of you believe in any of this stuff but about a year ago I saw a medium (very well known one in my area) and the first thing she said to me was about having a baby. She said my due dates would be October and then April or May. October was my original due date but then I had my MMC so I'm kind of keeping a teeny bit hopeful that it's this month or next month which would take me to April or May. I thought at the time it was weird she said those months because they were so close. I appreciate some people think it's a load of rubbish though haha xxx

Frankincense88 · 17/07/2020 10:58

@Leaf87 hey! I'm good thanks - especially now it's the summer holidays 😂 2ww starts next weds so busy busy my end!! Are you in the 2ww now? Xxx

Bells993 · 17/07/2020 10:06

@Leaf87 amazing! I can definitely see there being some good news for you! 🥰🥰🥰🙌 xxxx

@MrsTtobe your getting there! Few more weeks to go and I’m sure a beautiful scan picture will make a huge difference to the worry! So good you’ve resisted scans!

@msanne yes keep us updated! Thinking of you 🤞

I feel like I’m just trying to act like I’m not pregnant. Just trying to forget about it sort of thing. I’ve got so symptoms yet just feel tired and I’m really struggling to get up and out of bed whereas normally I’m 6.30am I’m awake and on it! I’ve got a private scan with an early pregnant gynocoloogisy Monday as a one off. Bit More expensive than a window to the womb but they will check my bloods, scan everything and give me an early MOT style thing so I’ll see how that goes. Really don’t feel like I’m going to get a baby out of all of this for some reason, but I’ve got to try and stay upbeat xxxx

@msanne yes please keep us upto date i habe everything crossed for you!

@MrsTtobe time is going so quickly I can not believe where time is going.

Quick update from me- Af arrived right on time! So taking that as good. Next test Monday, hoping I will get signed off Wednesday. Then it will be straight into DTD!!! I am very much aware that I will probably not catch this month but can still hope!!!
@Frankincense88 how are you? Are you in the TWW yet or still busy?

MrsTtobe · 17/07/2020 09:11

Morning ladies, hope you're all ok.
Im 9 +1 today and had my first midwife appointment yesterday. She just did the usual, height, weight, blood pressure etc. Proper booking in appointment on Tuesday. Over the phone though. Got to go and get all my bloods done today.
Im ok, don't think this anxiety is going to go until im actually holding the baby in my arms but trying my best to remain calm and positive. 🙏

@msanne Good luck with your scan today. Please please let us know how you get on. Absolutely everything crossed for you. ❤
What did you mean they can't rule out a pregnancy somewhere else? Did they not pick up on the cysts with your last pregnancy? Lots of love to you. Xxx

Bells993 · 14/07/2020 07:26

@MrsTtobe are they scanning you Thursday? What will your midwife do? Your nearly there! Just try and see it as a one off! You got this! The symptoms are a good sign 😍

@msanne I’m sure everything will be fine! Just early like you said, so good your going to get the care you need! Is there any reason they offered you a scan early? Everything crossed for you! Keeps us updated and try not to worry yourself sick!

@Frankincense88 ahhh that’s probably a good idea! Your nearly there, Good luck! Xxxx

Hi ladies! @bells993 @mrsttobe @Leaf87 @msanne All good this end - the end of term is in sight and I am absolutely knackered!! Not stopped all day. Heading into fertile period, going to start on Thursday and try to go every day until Weds the following week! Not tracking ovulation this month, just going to go for it daily and see what happens! Day 16 is usually when I ovulate which would be Mon 20th. Should end up testing around 2nd August all being well!

Hope you're all feeling ok and symptoms aren't too bad!

Sending lots of love xoxo

msanne · 13/07/2020 11:52

Hey @MrsTtobe - i empathize hun! I know that this is a nerve-wracking time, but please stay positive. There is no reason for it to happen again and you so close to 12 weeks now - the first milestone! You are nearly a quarter of the way through the pregnancy! Have you tried eating candied ginger - I find that helps with nausea? Or sparkling water. The latter does make me burp somewhat but I feel that it is a relief for nausea...

I am 6 + 4 today (exactly 2 weeks behind you)! I have a scan on Friday at my EPU. I went in last week as well and whilst the sonographer found a heartbeat, the consultant did not - so I am on edge until Friday when I get rescanned. Please say a little prayer. They found a couple of cysts too though, so they're not ruling out another pregnancy somewhere else. The good thing is I am now under consultant care, the bad thing is that I am stressing that much more as I am being seen as high-risk atm. I am still feeling full-blown pregnancy symptoms, but unlike you, I am very hungry (want to eat all the time)!

@Bells993 - aren't you having a scan soon too? Let us know how it goes...

@Frankincense88 and @Leaf87 - when do you both start trying again? Sending you both lots of baby dust.

xoxo

Leaf87 · 13/07/2020 11:07

@MrsTtobe try not worry, you have no reason to believe things will go wrong this time. Sorry you feel sick but it must be sort of comforting.

I am OK Af due this week then last test (hopefully) due next Monday. Looking forward to trying again!! Hopefully this week should fly in.

MrsTtobe · 13/07/2020 09:53

Hey ladies, @Bells993 @Leaf87 @msanne @Frankincense88
How are you all?

Im ok, feeling so so so nauseas. Literally can't stomach anything to eat or drink really. Forcing myself to drink water. Im 8 +4 today. First midwife appointment on Thursday. 🙏 I know I lost the baby with my miscarriage somewhere between 8 weeks when we had the private scan and 10 +5 when I started bleeding. So as im in that period again i feel super anxious.

God these will be the longest 9 months of our lives. 🙏 xx

Bells993 · 13/07/2020 08:20

How is everyone?

@Frankincense88 you must be on your busy week soon? Xx

Think I’m only 5 weeks 2 days. No symptoms! Can’t believe how slow time is going at the moment!

Xx

@msanne @MrsTtobe glad to hear everything is progressing keep us up dated Flowers

Frankincense88 · 08/07/2020 12:33

@bells993 AF normally 6 days so on day 4 now. Going to have one more month of really going for it then if still no joy we'll take it easy for a bit. I've gained 4 stone in the last 6 years but because I'm quite tall it's not super noticeable but I would def feel better even if I could drop 2! I've done keto before and lost over a stone but it's hard to maintain because I love roast potatoes and bread 😂 I've finally managed to buy a treadmill and that's arriving on the 20th so can get fit from my own home 😂

I've found lockdown tough because my main form of exercise is swimming and after the bad floods in the midlands in Feb our pool is now closed until 2021! I have a back injury so swimming helps loads but I've defo felt the effects of not being able to do my little swims each week!

Will keep going ladies hope you're all doing well! Xoxo
