Hi ladies 💕

13dpo today and af is imminent as temp dropped to cover line plus a bfn. So who's joining me?
TTC #1
This will be cycle 13 since mmc (Feb 19) but been TTC since June 2018 so a horribly momentous month for me.

Bought some vitamins recommended by it starts with the egg for this month and also male conception tablets for DH. So we shall see 🤞🏼

Lots of luck and baby dust to everyone 🍀🌈💕

@lavenderlilaclily My friend told me about a cheap brand called One Step (she's 7 months pregnant now). She said they're used by the NHS ...although not sure how reliable the information is! I'm thinking of giving those a go . She managed to get pregnant pretty quick so I guess they worked out.

If they're too difficult to use then I might try CB although my boyfriend is not too keen on making this process a scientific experiment 😂

@KRK05 Keeping my fingers crossed for you just in case!

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 13:05

@Minster2012 I'm not a huge drinker anyway so it doesn't bother me giving it up. I only ever really want a drink when we go out so the lockdown is helping on that front! The window looks good! 🇬🇧

Minster2012 · 07/05/2020 13:00

@MrsLBear & @Ltay2 I haven’t stopped drinking my normal amount which is fri- sun moderate, whilst TTC, obs stopped when pregnant (I drank no alcohol ciders & seedlip gin which is nice) so I sometimes still drink those though the ciders are still sugar heavy so try not to. I take my hat off to you if you aren’t drinking!

@lavenderlilaclily I’m using both the clear blue advanced & IC OPKs as I don’t know when (if) I ovulate so I want to be sure for a couple of months so think the CB will be better for that

@KRK05 hoping you don’t ovulate late then, my OH still working too & we have toddler DS so SMEP is quite intense but we got to CD12 last month & had already done a stint of DTD 3 days in a row including twice in one day 😂we were having loads of fun I’m hoping it continues this month 🤣so I’m determined my bad mood is lifted now into a positive 1 for bank holiday weekend

Here’s my VE Day window I’ve just put up if you know me don’t out me please 😂

KRK05 · 07/05/2020 12:25

@MrsLBear Yeah it's the CB advanced digital one. I'm quite excited to be using that along with everything else. Last cycle was just guessing so felt like I've googled loads about ovulation etc whereas this one il know where I'm at & what's going on, so maybe take some of the stress away... well I hope 🤞🏻

@Minster2012 So sorry to hear about your MC, hopefully this is your month 🙏🏼 SMEP sounds good, although would be tiring if I do actually ovulate late in my cycle 🙈 so OH better get plenty rest as hes actually still at work & I'm determined to not miss a day 😂

Lots of baby dust for everybody for this cycle 💜 I am due AF today, she hasnt arrived but I know shes on her way & not unusual for me to start later today or even tonight just wish would come so I can be on CD1, instead of teasing me 😭

lavenderlilaclily · 07/05/2020 12:20

@Ltay2 ooh yay ttc buddies! hopefully this month will be our month:)

@SaraVB which opks are you thinking of buying? I've been using internet cheapies but considering switching to the clearblue ones that detect both estrogen and LH...does anyone have any experience with them? are they worth it?

SaraVB · 07/05/2020 10:13

AF due tomorrow for me.. feeling the symptoms so getting prepared for the next cycle. This will only be the 2nd month TTC and I've never used opks so I think I will buy some as soon as AF shows up... If anyone has any tips on using them it would be really appreciated!

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 10:08

@lavenderlilaclily Exactly the same as me! Although the first cycle I wasn't really tracking anything but still counting it as we weren't preventing.

lavenderlilaclily · 07/05/2020 10:06

@Ltay2 Hello! :) Cycle #3 for me, TTC #1 - how about you?

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 10:02

@lavenderlilaclily Hi 👋🏼 I am also on CD1! What number cycle is this for you now?

lavenderlilaclily · 07/05/2020 09:58

Hello ladies I'd like to hop on the June bus please if that's ok 🤗
AF arrived this morning with a bang so CD1 for me....

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 09:29

@MrsLBear I am definitely stealing one of OH's beers tonight 😂 willpower has kept me away so far but now I know I am definitely not pregnant he's giving one of them up for sure! The grapefruit juice is for a week before ovulation, it's supposed to help with EWCM. Yeah 3 days in a row is way too much for us, I don't think we've ever done it twice in a row never mind 3 🙈 we've gone from DTD once a week or sometimes even every other week if busy with work etc, to now every other day which is a big enough change for now!

MrsLBear · 07/05/2020 09:23

@Ltay2 yeah that's the thing about SMEP I'm not sure we could do. 3 days on the trot after god knows how many days alternating cos my ovulation window changes by a week or so sometimes. When are you supposed to drink grapefruit juice?

@Minster2012 sorry you're feeling like that. It's so hard to come out of that when nothing has changed. And with everything going on in the world at the moment I find it's even harder. That could be a good thing if it's a full af perhaps like you said it's a reset. Fx for you that it is!

Oh that's rubbish @Ltay2 like it's bad enough getting af and then we have to be punished with severe pains. I swear mines getting worse every year too. I plan on having a few drinks this weekend too cos well it's bank holiday and need something to look forward to. I can't work at all so I am trying to fill my days as much as I can which is hard.

Minster2012 · 07/05/2020 09:12

@Ltay2 yes I think that about the other! Stick with the hot water bottle & get through today 🥰 then it’s bank holiday & should be nice weather too. I got really bad cramps this time too it really took me by surprise!! 😂I woke up then was writhing around one morning but turns out was trapped wind too 🤣

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 09:05

@Minster2012 I am going to concentrate on this thread now too, the other one is lovely but moves way too fast 🤣 hoping this AF is the system clearing for you too 🤞🏼

Concentrating on getting through my last working day of the week. AF pains are horrendous today sitting with a hot water bottle on my belly and trying to remain positive 😫

Minster2012 · 07/05/2020 09:02

Morning, going to concentrate on this thread now as def June for us!

@MrsLBear still down today but determined to try & be positive. Big row with DH last night Cos I’m just feeling down, had an awful day yesterday with DS which he didn’t even acknowledge & still in AF fog. No call back from IVF unit I was expecting (still not had debrief after MC but anyway). AF now full on 4 days so I’m hoping this is proper clearing system for a proper cycle this time.

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 08:27

@MrsLBear Oh I know, bless him he's trying to be supportive but he doesn't have a clue the extent of planning that goes into it no matter how many times I try to explain 😂 our plan this cycle is to DTD every other day from CD10 until the day after ovulation. I don't think DTD every day for 3 days like SMEP would work for us it's just too much 🙈 this way we would still get in a couple more DTD days in FW than we did last cycle so hopefully along with my added supplements and grapefruit juice it will help! Here's to February due dates 🤞🏼🤞🏼

MrsLBear · 07/05/2020 08:13

Hi ladies 👋🏼
And hi to all the new joiners!

Sorry been only briefly been popping on Mumsnet the past few days.
@primrosechill I totally agree it makes you realise how much some women go through before even having a baby. I mean I naively thought you pretty much have unprotected sex a few times and bang you're pregnant.
Have you discussed how long it takes him and your options @Missgoldilocks?

@KRK05 sounds like you have got all the basis covered there! Is the clear blue one that little device you pop the stick into? Yeah I think tracking something allows you to just know at least when to expect what. I do temp but since af came on Monday I've not been temping cos I've been sleeping a bit later - it wakes me up so early as it's on my mind. But I will start again Monday on cd 8. I bloody hate it the tie though.

@Ltay2 men do not get it at all!! They are oblivious and genuinely think it's as easy as just having sex a bit more 😂 if they knew half our conversations haha.

Hi @Minster2012 how are you lovely?

I might try SMEP again or rather just stick to DTD every other day. As we DTD when I get a positive OPK but that doesn't seem to be working.

Ltay2 · 07/05/2020 08:10

AF arrived on time this morning as predicted. Just glad it's not late and I can now get on with the next cycle 🤞🏼 got my COQ10 supplements arriving today and going to get some grapefruit juice to try this cycle too.

Minster2012 · 06/05/2020 17:21

Right I’m caught up, so sorry to hear a few of you in a similar position to myself following miscarriages earlier on the year or even more recently, mine has really messed me up I can’t believe it’s like 10 weeks AFTER & I’ve not had a “proper” cycle I just want to take control & forget about it instead of being reminded, it’s not like AF isn’t crap enough as it is.

Anyway totally agree with @Spinningthewheel it’s taking control not being crazy

Sorry AF still isn’t here @Ltay2 Fingers crossed for soon

@KRK05 we were really enjoying SMEP & were in fact doing more then another AF showed up ahead of schedule so we’ll be doing that again but I need to keep using OPKs even earlier to try see when I ovulate if at all

Vividdreamer88 · 06/05/2020 15:22

@MrsLBear I was 6-7 weeks it was my first I am hopeful that June will result in a sticky bean.

Ltay2 · 06/05/2020 13:26

@Minster2012 Hi 👋🏼👋🏼

I am still waiting for AF to appear properly. Due tomorrow but still only a tiny amount of spotting.

Spinningthewheel · 06/05/2020 13:21

Just posting for a totally unjustified moan. My body is doing nothing! Want my hormones to get in gear but it’s all still in post pill hibernation I think! 😡🙄

All the talk of being crazy upthread- you’re not being crazy, you’re planning for a huge event in your life, I think it’s totally reasonable to be tracking everything! Plus it’s super interesting (scientist here) a real life experiment.

Minster2012 · 06/05/2020 08:04

Morning ladies! Parking myself here & I will go back & read stories I think. I recognise a couple of names from may hi @Ltay2 & obvs @MrsLBear!

I’m 35, 36 in July. 2nd proper cycle TTC for us but actually 9th having had a missed miscarriage in between (which was actually from IVF) so medicated miscarriage in lockdown which was horrendous in March which seems to have totally screwed me, I’m now finished on 3rd lot of AF bleeding in 9/10weeks 😖right when we were really enjoying FW!! So maybe that’s cycle 1 then who knows! Anyways here’s hoping this might be a proper cycle.

I’ve no idea what my regular cycles are as I was always on contraception before whilst having chemo (hence had embryos ready for IVF). We have a DS who was carried for us by my amazing best friend as a surrogate whilst I couldn’t stop my treatment so we are truly lucky with our miracle child & I’ve been told my fertility is screwed from 10 years of cancer treatment so we don’t hold up much hope of a natural conception but we might as well try during these weird times 😂& it’s fun and a hell of a lot cheaper 😆

Enough about me!

Missgoldilocks · 05/05/2020 19:01

@primrosechill thank you! We will be trying the cup this month, any tips of getting it in okay once he's finished? I've heard people get their oh to finish in the cup and then inserting it?! Dunno if I could do that without spilling it lol but I'm definitely all for inserting the cup after to hold it up there and maybe even with him finishing in the cup and inserting it, I just don't want to lose any 😅

Ltay2 · 05/05/2020 16:24

@KRK05 I am SO laid back usually I think it annoys my OH when I'm so calm and collected about potential problems and he's there worrying! In his eyes if I'm panicking it must mean something is very wrong and then he panics more 😂 but this seems to be the other way round, so I'm trying to not let my craziness show 🙈
