Hi ladies 💕

13dpo today and af is imminent as temp dropped to cover line plus a bfn. So who's joining me?
TTC #1
This will be cycle 13 since mmc (Feb 19) but been TTC since June 2018 so a horribly momentous month for me.

Bought some vitamins recommended by it starts with the egg for this month and also male conception tablets for DH. So we shall see 🤞🏼

Lots of luck and baby dust to everyone 🍀🌈💕

@Mococo1 and @Maybe333 I was taking pregnacare for about 8 months and it didn't affect my cycle length at all! Only stopping it cos I'm trying just standard folic acid and then coq10 and vita dhd so didn't wanna take too many things at once! Agnus castus has shortened my period tho...I'm day 5 and would have something by now, but nothing so far!!

Mococo1 · 21/05/2020 12:15

@mayOHDH defo just wants to know when he is neededI'm on pregnacare and didn't realise it could prolong your cycle?

DH just wants to know when he is needed to lol he thinks I'm crazy talking about OPKS

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 12:05

@Maybe333 ditto, lets hope the coil hasn't messed us up too much!! will let you know how I get on.

@kirsty0028 welcome! this is my 2nd or 3rd day on any type of forum like this too :) it definitely helps as even talking to my OH about ovulation is not the same!! He's very supportive but a bit like 'just let me know when I'm needed' LOL! fingers crossed for you for 2nd June, first baby too, so exciting. We are TTC my second but my OH's first. My DS is almost 9!!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 12:03

@Maybe333 I was the same as I came off the contraceptive injection in August and my periods didn't start til Christmas so wasn't sure whether I was ovulating or not but I am so it appears. I am only taking normal folic acid thag I picked up from tesco!

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 12:00

Also, do you ladies take just regular folic acid vitamins or a supplement like pregnacare? I read that pregnacare preconception can length your cycle? Is there any truth in that?

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 11:52

Thank you @lucyrp @juno231 and @watermelonwizard that's interesting indeed!!
I'm just curious to see if I am even ovulating at all.. I came off the coil in January and cycles have been so long since (were regular 28days before the coil).
@kirsty0028 I've never posted on forums until a few days ago either.. Nice to know others are going through the same stuff. I don't feel like I can tell anyone other than my OH as I don't want the pressure of people waiting for news etc.. So I've found it nice to talk!!
Thanks ladies x

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 11:46

@MrsDh2019 I think I caught mine about 12dpo but I was still getting negatives in between that's why I wasn't sure. I have everything crossed for you for this cycle! 🤞🏼

Also not sure if anyone can help with this but on the CB digital when you get a flashing smiley would you test again the same day like you would with an IC or wait until the next morning ?

MrsDh2019 · 21/05/2020 11:43

@SmileyT @lucyrp thanks girls 💖 I didn’t even think at first but I must’ve caught it early as I was having faint lines from about 8 dpo thought I was going crazy but they were all on different kinds of tests not from the same batch and then when I left it a few days and tried again at 10&12 dpo there was nothing there just bfn but I felt so pregnant and dodgy and then obviously AF showed up on time was spotting the first day then really heavy flow 😩 fingers crossed for this month 🤞🏼 I didn’t tell me gp as they’re being really funny with appts at the moment but I’ll be fine 😊 just a bit miffed! 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈 x

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 11:34

This is my BBT chart so I don't think it's working for me either 😂😂I'm just doing it for the sake of it

June Bus - who's on board?
Juno231 · 21/05/2020 11:26

@Maybe333 you need a special thermometer though for BBT as it needs to be able to read to 2 decimal points. The changes are that minute! But basically your temp goes up for ovulation and starts going down for AF if you didn't conceive so is really accurate for tracking.

It's very temperamental though, being ill affects your temp, so does alcohol or having a bad night's sleep so I don't think I'd be able to take accurate readings with it consistently so I've given it a miss!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 11:26

@kirsty0028 Welcome! It's my first month on the forums too so only just got the hang of it but they're not that scary really they're all lovely ladies😛 there's a red abbreviations to get the hang of but you'll soon get it. I'm TTC my second child, I already have a DS aged 5 ☺️

kirsty0028 · 21/05/2020 11:19

Hi everyone. This is my first time ever posting on any kind of forum I have no idea how it works but I will figure it out. We have just started trying this month for our first baby and I was so excited I was googling forums to read and I have found all of you ladies! So hello all. Literally ovulated a few days ago so here's hoping 😊 hoping to test around 2nd of June 🤷‍♀️

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 11:07

I want to change my user name on here but what happens with mentions etc then ?😂 only to LRP15

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 10:55

@SmileyT thanks for the advice. I started testing yesterday so will do so once a day but will def up it to twice now you’ve said that, when I feel it’s getting closer. I still feel it’s a little early for me CD6 but I have a short cycle so 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also has a faint line yesterday so will keep it up now. Thanks have now got the Femometer app.

@Maybe333 you don’t sound clueless at all, I had my coil out last week and feel like I’ve entered a new world now! It’s exciting though and I find it so interesting. (Scientist brain!) I have read that BBT rises when you are ovulating, and stays high if you conceive but drops before a period. Also maybe drops right before ovulation? I may be wrong so also following for guidance . Good luck !

TheGirlWhoLived · 21/05/2020 10:38

Wow, some of you are really putting some effort in!! I thought I was ahead of the times taking myo-Inositol and tracking with ovia 😂

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 10:23

@Maybe333 I would probably say to start testing around day 16 maybe but I know most ladies do it every day I think ? Just so you can see the gradual difference throughout your whole cycle if you're using the cheapie OPKs and because they're cheap you can get a lot for little money. BBT is basal body temperature so you're temperature first thing in the morning when you wake up before you move or get up or anything, i ordered the cheap fermometer thermometer I think it was about £10 and I have mine on my bedside table and as soon as OH alarm goes off I reach for it and do my BBT then before I go to the loo to do my CB OPK!

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 09:55

Oh and another wee question.. Sorry for asking silly questions. What's BBT and how does it change through the cycle? Is that just your normal temperature with a regular thermometer? Oh gosh I sound clueless!

Maybe333 · 21/05/2020 09:49

Great source of info here ladies. So I'm going to download the premom app and I've ordered the easy@home cheapie opks just to get started.
New to all this so will give it a go and see.
Thanks for the advice about testing between 10am and 6pm.. I have very long cycles atm, like 36 days, anyone know when I should start tracking with opks?
Following your messages with interest for guidance :)

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:44

@SmileyT I am based in mid wales, I think her mum was allowed straight down to the delivery suite with her but they had to put her on a ward to start with and her mum wasn't allowed in then and had to wait outside in the car until she went to delivery. Covid makes everything difficult 😩 I'm hoping by the time I eventually conceive OH will he allowed to come to my scans with me as it is his first and he would love it so much its not the same looking at a picture in the car afterwards is it! ☹️

@Cocoblue22 @SmileyT I've also looked at the monitor but it does seem an awful amount of money doesn't it 😂🙈

@MrsDh2019 sorry to hear about your loss, we are in the same boat as I had a CP on the 10th but like @SmileyT says at least we know the sperm met the egg! That's the positive I am taking from this 💓

SmileyT · 21/05/2020 09:36

@Mococo1 sorry for your loss, hope you get your rainbow soon 🌈 ❤️

@OnNaturesCourse if you put EWCM in on femometer it seems to update ovulation day to that day but it can change if you add other data later, if you have been having regular sex I'm sure you are covered anyway x

@Cocoblue22 I did consider getting the CB monitor but I'm way too cheap 😂

@lucyrp congrats to your friend, glad mum and baby are healthy, where are you based? My friend is 33 weeks and has been told her hubby will be with her but maybe that has changed, she will be gutted as she has said she hasn't noticed any changes since lockdown yet 😩

@MrsDh2019 sorry about the CP, did you speak to your GP? It's definitely no less of a loss than an early MC and it's okay to mourn the loss. Positives are that you know that the sperm met the egg so just keep doing what you were doing and next time it will hopefully be a sticky bean ❤️

@watermelonwizard how often are you testing? I find that my cheap sticks are just as accurate as my CB connected but I do like the digital aspect of CB. I would just make sure you are testing at least once a day between 10am and 6pm and then when you get close to expected ovulation up it to twice a day when you see the test line getting darker check regularly so you don't miss the surge, it can be as short as 4hrs. Have you tried putting opks into an app, femometer and Premom both read the sticks for you and can make it easier to see the pattern 👌🏾 Baby dust to you aswell xx

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:33

@TTCgee thank you I'm very proud right now, I'm being in undated with pictures already which I'm not going to say no to!🥰

I still log my CB tests on the fermometer app but just do it manually so ⭕️ as low, flashing smiley as high and then static smiley as peak and that's working at the moment but will have to see how it goes.

I'm CD12 today too! Not sure when I should be ovulating but I predicted anywhere between 23rd and 27th! No idea when AF is due as the last cycle was messed up by a CP so all a guessing game really! Xx

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:30

@watermelonwizard yeah they are both fine and should be allowed home tomorrow so I can't wait to go and look at him through the window!
It's so funny how something so simple can make you smile but seeing the flashing smiley has made my day haha, I was going to buy some IC but thought I'd try these first and they're actually so much easier to read. Slightly expensive but hopefully won't need to use them much and it will be worth it anyway, I would definitely say to buy the pack with 20 sticks as opposed to the 10 sticks if you're not entirely sure when you ovulate as you may run out of them !

TTCgee · 21/05/2020 09:26

@lucyrp ahhh congrats to your friend! Great news her little bundle is here safely 🥰🥰

I just use the really cheap OPKs from amazon - it's like £7 for 50 or something and they seem to work?

Then on the fermometer app you can upload a pic of your test and it tells you your LH level which is quite cool!

However, that CB monitor thing sounds really good that it does it all for you!!

Hope you're all okay 💕 where is everyone in their cycles atm?

I'm CD12 and due to ovulate on CD17 (26th) then AF due on 9th June xxx

watermelonwizard · 21/05/2020 09:24

@lucyrp thank you! I’ve also just read about your friend, that’s so scary! I hope she’s ok. Woohoo to your first flashing smile too! I’m gonna get some of those tests, I prefer the thought of a smile rather than a hard to decipher line! Good luck!

lucyrp · 21/05/2020 09:18

@watermelonwizard I use the CB digital tests and it's my first month tracking ovulation and I'm CD12
